Trivia Wednesdays are really fun, and it’s the only reason I keep coming back(if there were better restaurants with comparable trivia, believe me, I would have no problem ditching Uno’s). But there’s more to this review than trivia! So read on… So, I’ve noticed a trend regarding my experiences at Uno’s. Now, I don’t know if it’s just this particular location, or if this is an affliction that plagues the entire chain, but… their food just isn’t good. Whether you get the«Deep Dish Mac and Cheese» or some appetizers, you can bank on disappointment. And it really sucks, because the layout of the restaurant ain’t bad, and this singular restaurant has potential(fun trivia nights, nice bar layout, centrally located). The food just wrecks it. Literally every time I have eaten here, I have been vastly unsatisfied with my meal. Everything tastes frozen, bland, and just… not good. Speaking of frozen, I ordered a coffee last night. It wasn’t even room temp. It was chilly! And no, it was not an iced coffee! It took forever to flag down our waitress so I could get a fresh cup(PS even when piping hot, their coffee isn’t that fabulous). I don’t mean to sound high-maintenance, but I don’t think wanting your coffee to be hot is a crazy request. I get that they are understaffed right now(and it was trivia night), BUTTHEYAREALWAYSUNDERSTAFFED. It takes forever for your waitress/waiter to come around. They’re constantly missing in action, and that makes for an awful dining experience. They absolutely do not anticipate your needs. God forbid you’re in a hurry, as you may require smoke signals to flag them down for your check. I will say that the Granny Smith All American dish isn’t bad. It’s really a pretty tasty dessert, and it’s one of the few items on the menu that I can order with confidence. If you decide to check out trivia night, I would recommend eating dinner at home(that’s what I did last time, as I knew that if I got dinner at the restaurant, I would regret it!) and perhaps just grabbing some coffee(hopefully it’s not frigid) at Uno’s. Truth be told, their desserts are pretty okay, so you should be safe with one of those. Hmm, what other crappy experiences have I had at this Uno’s? I’ve ordered hard cider that tasted more like straight up vinegar. I’ve had utensils that were dirty. I’ve also had waitstaff that clearly didn’t care. And last night, I got so fed up with the service that I didn’t tip. Before you judge, just know that I am usually a generous tipper. 20% is par for the course with me, but when the service and food are so consistently bad, you kind of want to send a message, y’know? I guess it’s my fault for continuing to go trivia night, but it’s more about socializing with my friends than actually patronizing Uno’s. I wish there were better restaurants in my area — even chains — with those kinds of game nights. I really hope this place can turn it around. With a more fully(and competently) staffed team and better management — and, most importantly, a revamped menu with higher-quality food — this could be a really fun restaurant! I hope they see these negative reviews and make a few changes, because they could really use them.

The food here is awful, the service terrible. Stump trivia is their only saving grace and is the only reason I return. Everything here is always super greasy. I know it’s an Uno’s, but the amount of grease is absurd. You may feel ill when you leave. Even the drinks are bad unless you stick to beer. I once ordered a sangria — never again. I watched as the waitress poured by drink from a huge gallon container of chemical sludge at the bar as she mixed it with a little bit of seltzer water and even less wine. There’s a really friendly maitre d’ that seats people on trivia nights, and besides the trivia woman that is not an Uno’s employing, they are the only saving graces as far as employees. The waitstaff doesn’t take your drink order until you’re seated for at least half an hour, and seriously takes another 20 minutes to bring you a drink, so matter how simple your order. When they bring the food, they rarely bring silverware or napkins with it, and by the time you realize, you have to wait another 20 minutes to get the waiter’s attention unless you just go up to the bar … if you can catch the bartender to help you out once you get there, that is.

Been here many times. The staff is often young and doesn’t care. Food is subpar. Tables and floors are always gross; sticky and unkept. Bartender is always in their phone. It’s a place to stop and eat a late meal because nothing else is open on the way home.

This location was ok. The pizza was good and we were able to make substitutions to one of their signature pizza dishes. There were a few issues. First it took a very long time to come out and the place was virtually empty. Also our utensils did not look clean and had streaks on them!

I’m willing to give this location the benefit of the doubt and try them out again, but my experience here the other night was paltry at best. I went out with my boyfriend the evening before Thanksgiving, and this was one of the few places in the area still open after 9/10PM. We were greeted by an incredibly friendly host, and thought the evening was off to a great start. We had our original waitress, then another waitress took her place, and then our original waitress randomly came back later on in the evening. Our waitress kept popping in and out, and at one point came back out with whom I assume was the manager; he mentioned«these people over there», while gesturing over to the table I was sitting at with my boyfriend. I’m not sure what was going on, but it was confusing to say the least. It took a while for our food to come out, even though there were only a few tables full. We got the appetizer sampler, and each chose a pizza. We also ordered a beer as well. He chose the small Chicago classic deep dish, and I was able to finangle the Medditerrean flatbread(which is no longer on the menu) by adjusting the eggplant flatbread recipe. When our pizzas came out, the flatbread was fantastic. However, the Chicago classic pizza was cold. The tomatoes seemed like they had just come out of the fridge, and the sausage was luke warm, as was the center of the pizza. I got up to look for an employee, and was unable to find one. I waited up front by the front desk for a minute or so, and no one came out. I looped back around to the kitchen area, and was unable to find someone there as well. Once I got back to the table, the second waitress said she would grab our waitress for us. Around this time, we realized that the beer was never brought to our table, but at that point, we were ready to leave and weren’t going to wait for it. We sent the pizza back; we were offered the option to have it put back in the oven, but we declined; and it was quickly taken off our bill. The beer was also missing off of our bill, so luckily we did not have to ask for that to be removed as well. Like I said, I’m willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt. It seemed like there were only two waitresses on that night, and it was the night before Thanksgiving. I just hope try #2 is better than #1.

I was on a road trip with friends, and we all began to feel hungry at the same time. Searching for a reliable and safe option, we decided upon Uno Pizzeria and Grill in Poughkeepsie. We entered the establishment and were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant was not very crowded at 3:30pm, however our party of 4 was seated at a booth in the bar area of the restaurant. While we appreciated the bar’s vaulted ceilings and skylights, we weren’t sure if we might have enjoyed relaxing into our meal at a table in the proper dining area. No matter, our waitress Heather was friendly and pleasant, and she took our drink and food order immediately. Our drinks arrived quickly, including 2 waters, a Pepsi and an Ultimate Margherita. The waters and Pepsi were standard fare, and the Margherita was a little on the sweet side but certainly drinkable. Our waitress then brought our plates and silverware, whereupon we waited for 20 minutes for our food to arrive. It felt like longer than 20 minutes because we were all ravenously hungry, and we were a little perturbed to find that one of our forks and one of the plates were not properly cleaned. We sent these errant tableware items back to the kitchen, and Heather handled the situation graciously, returning to our table with clean utensils and plates without hesitation. I ordered the 2 for $ 12 combination meal, and had chosen the spinach and chicken salad and baked ziti and sausage. My salad was the first dish to arrive at the table, followed up to 7 minutes later by our appetizer orders of mozzarella sticks and pizza skins. The spinach in my salad was crisp, and the chicken was well grilled. It was a very reasonable salad for the price of the combo meal. The pizza skins were a hydrogen bomb of carbohydrates, a little bland in flavor but satisfying to snack on nonetheless. The mozzarella sticks were unmemorable(and we’re writing this review less than an hour after our meal). On to our entrees. Between the four of us, we ordered three deep dish pizzas, plus the aforementioned baked ziti with sausage. The ziti was a tad salty, and the sauce was somewhat oily, but the pasta was cooked al dente and the sausage had a nice spicy kick. My husband’s Farmer’s Market Pizza exceed expectations, featuring a lovely pesto topped with a variety of excellently roasted and sautéed vegetables including caramelized onions. The standard Cheese and Tomato pie was nostalgically satisfying, yet still a bit too salty and lacking in the sweetness that a quality marinara sauce will offer ideally. The Shroom Pizza, a new addition to the Uno Pizzeria Menu, was a gelatinous mess. The oil dripped from the slice, making each bite soggy and difficult to eat. Unfortunately, this dish was an ultimately disappointing aspect of our Uno’s experience. Heather made sure to check on us frequently as she kept our drink glasses full with refills and our spirits high through to the end of our meal. We were also glad to receive a mid-meal check-in from a man whom we assumed to have been a manager, as he was dressed nicely and was clearly at work but was not wearing a name tag. There was an accessibility bathroom just off of the dining room, and the other bathrooms were located downstairs. While the bathroom was clean, the lighting was a little dim and the electric hand drier was not working in the women’s bathroom, although it was stocked adequately with paper towels. I have been to other Uno’s locations with brighter lighting in the bathrooms, including at the Crossgates Mall in Albany. In conclusion, we all agreed that the 2 for $ 12 deal was a great value for the money, while some of the personal sized pizzas seemed a little overpriced relative to the portions. However, we left with full stomachs(we had absolutely no room left for dessert!) and two boxes of leftover food. We truly appreciated the friendly and attentive service that we received as well. We would unanimously return if our next road trip passes through Poughkeepsie.

We are staying at a near hotel, and came looking for something to eat. This place has a charm and nice looking menu. I loved the décor. The service was friendly and timely. My son ordered a make your own pizza. They brought the ingredients and my son make it, then it was taken away to be baked. Very very cute. I ordered a stuffed chicken and my husband a chicken parmassiana. My chicken was not seasoned, it’s stuffing(broccoli) was not cooked well. My vegetable side was supposed to be roasted, instead it was soaked in oil and really, really unpleasant. My sons pizza taste good to me, by he wouldn’t eat it as the sauce was a bit too spicy for a 4 year old. My husband thought his chicken lacked marinara and cheese but had a good crust. The pasta was plain and not well seasoned. No one finished their plate. I wouldn’t come back.

Ordered from them a handful of times and the order was right only once. I have to add that the driver told me it was actually incorrect, and he had to wait for them to fix it. Definitely learned not to order from them again when my food arrived ice cold and missing my soda.

I have so much memories of coming here when I was little. Unfortunately the location in my area closed down. But their food is still amazing!!! I had their wrap with fries and it tastes really fresh and natural. Their fries were fried to perfection. Also their Chicago style pizza was amazing it was so good that I am tempted to move to Chicago.

I have a difficult time finding anything on the menu I like. Not a great selection by any means though the two times I had a burger, it was cooked perfectly. The deep dish pizza is found wanting and the pastas are as unathentic as you’d think.

The food is okay, the service is okay, the drinks are okay. It’s a chain, what more can you expect? But the deep dish chocolate chip cookie ice cream thing is especially tasty at this location.

Pizzaria Uno first started in Chicago. Being from Chicago, I was raised eating this pizza, while I can honestly say these chain restaurants located outside of Chicago is close in comparision to Chicago’s Uno, it’s not the same. The pie is as good as the chef at any location and saying that, this location should train their pizza chefs better. The location on Route 9 in Fishkill is much better. Maybe the one on Main st. should send their chefs to the location in Fishkill for some re-training. I’ll always be a faithful customer to the Uno chain. Love Me Some Unos
