So glad to have found a business that gets it! The coffee is excellent, but that only scratches the surface. Taking responsibility for sourcing, shipping, processing, and disposing. True life-cycle accounting here. The items we purchase have an impact around the world where we typically don’t see the impacts. This is especially true in the case of coffee. Production has impact on local and global ecosystems. Local and global economies. Grounds for change is changing the status quo. All businesses need to be doing this. I love to tell people about this company because of all the«and’s» I get to describe them with. i.e: «the coffee is organic, AND shade grown protecting habitat, AND fair trade protecting local economies, AND carbon neutral, AND available in bulk to reduce packaging. Thank you for your product and your work!

For a couple of months now, I have been ordering my coffee beans from this place and I could not be happier. While I fully support the dedication of this roaster to source only certified Fair Trade Organic beans, ultimately it is what’s in the cup that will make me a loyal customer and in that regard, Grounds for Change has been terrific. I am partial to the light and medium roasts from Central America and will also order the limited release specials(presently a coffee from Bolivia). The order is freshly roasted and immediately sent to the East coast, I have my bags within a couple days. The price/quality ratio is excellent, the service exemplary. I have ordered coffee beans from many well-known roasters across the US but I am especially happy that I found this small family-owned enterprise in WA. Keep up your dedicated and expert work!

My daughter in law gave me a bag of their Peru«Café Feminino» to try and I really enjoyed it. It had no bitterness but was a smooth and delicious coffee. i am a new but enthusiastic fan of this brand and I am looking forward to trying some of their other selections.

Like many other coffee lovers I am very fussy about the coffee i purchase and drink. I had travaled to Antigua, Guatemala and found the most wonderful locally grown coffee in a café. This is my gold standard. Try Grounds for Change’s «Quetzal» it is a deeply rich, delicious, aromatic and mild roasted coffee.

I learned about Grounds for Change a few months ago when a friend sent me a bag of Agate Pass blend. The coffee was the best! Since then I’ve ordered online three times. The Grounds for Change website is easy to use, and it describes the different coffee blends in very persuasive terms. The coffee selection is outstanding, and the orders ship quickly; I’ve received every one in just a few days, even though I live across the country! I also like the effort Grounds for Change makes to be both environmentally– and humanly-conscious. Visit the website to learn more about what the company does to sustain natural resources and collaborate with the small farmers(often women) who grow the coffee.

Grounds For Change is the coffee that got me off lattes and onto drinking drip coffee. Every variety I’ve tried has been great.

My husband and I tried their coffee when living in Colorado — we loved it — and this from avid coffee drinkers. Check out their website for some of the amazing efforts they support and what they do to sustain natural resources. We knew we had to find this coffee for the opening of our creperie last month in Lehigh Valley PA. Well, we’re lucky we found it again. Our favorite coffee at home is the Guatemala«Quetzal» — notes of butter, vanilla, apricot, nougat. It’s been one month now and our customers stop to tell us that the roasts we chose(french roast, first light decaf, and classic espresso) are excellent — rich, smooth, non-bitter taste — and they appreciate that it’s fair-trade, organic, and shade-grown. I’ve also tried every one of their organic teas at home and they are so good that we offer their whole line at our creperie. I’ve compared their black chai tea to several other bagged teas and I find it’s the best tasting — I’m drinking it right now with whole milk and it’s just like a chai latte. The company associates have been pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful to work with. Ordering has been easy and shipments are made timely.

I cannot say enough about how much I love their coffee. Aside from being Fair Trade and Organic — which I appreciate and support — the coffee is simply excellent. I love coffee and probably drink way too much(8 – 10 cups(8oz) a day!) because I love it so. I buy in bulk and I have never been disappointed. I do occasionally get a cup from Starbucks, however, it just doesn’t compare. The variety of coffees can vary by season and availability and the year-round«standbys» are always freshly roasted and shipped quickly. Do yourself a favor and try their coffee for a week and you will notice a difference. You won’t look back and you will definitely judge other coffee roasters by the high standard Grounds For Change puts forth.

This is the best coffee we have ever tried. We order the half-caff regularly(which is very hard to find). They roast it for us and we have the order on our doorstep in Arizona in a matter of a couple of days. I am ordering some for a Christmas gift for my boss this year to accompany a bottle of homemade Irish Cream Liquer that I’m giving him.

I have been buying coffee and tea here for 4 years now. I gave them a try because of their focus on Fair Trade, Organic, Shade Grown and sustainability. But in the end the coffee still has to be quality and the business well run. I have never had a bad batch of coffee or an order that didn’t arrive a bit sooner than expected. I am a decaf person and love the Midnight Blend. The first Water Process decaf that really holds up on the flavor end. The teas have been a pleasant surprise as well. Pricing with shipping is still quite competitive with local coffee houses. I usually order 3lbs of beans at a time.

Best coffee out there. I like that it’s fair trade, no carbon foot print, etc — but at the end of the day the coffee has to hold up. I can’t say enough about it. For my birthday last year someone gave me a coffee of the month club, and I think that was probably one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. Personally I like my coffee smoother than the starbucks stuff, which I find tastes a little harsh. I guess it depends on how you brew — but all of the coffees I’ve received the grounds for change have been excellent. And everyone else I know who has tried it seems to agree. I even buy the back-up 5 pound bag just to ensure I don’t run out between monthly shipments. If you are a coffee fan, give it a try.

Sorry for sounding non-pc, but I usually avoid Fair Trade coffee because of all the bad FT coffee I’ve bought in the past. And from what I’ve been told, farmers are usually paid higher than FT prices for high-quality beans. But I decided to try Grounds For Change Agate Pass Blend on a whim and a pleasant surprise it was. The best coffee I’ve ever had. I’m hooked. Package arrives from Poulsbo to Seattle within a week and it’s always freshly roasted. I buy two pounds at a time and the lower coffee cost counters the shipping cost.
