I took three items for repair, two clothing articles which needed minor repairs and a pair of shoes that needed to be resoled. The shirt and shoes came back on time a week and a day later — I picked them up and the clerk informed me that the dress was not ready yet, after looking through all of the racks for it for quite some time. I paid for my items and returned two days later. Upon returning, I expected my dress would be ready as it had been a week and a half since I had dropped it off, quite a long time for a simple hem which had unfortunately fallen out. The clerk could not find the dress. While I was willing to forgive the fact that they said they had split the order and the dress would come in later, the fact that they had no idea where my dress was on the second occasion was troublesome. The clerk said it was probably at the location where items are pressed a few blocks away and asked me if I wanted him to call.(Yes, of course I want to know where my dress is!) After another 10 minutes of waiting he said they had located it and it would be in later in the day. Now Friday,(I dropped everything off Monday the previous week!) I finally was able to pick up my dress. Exhausted from the four trips I made to drop off and pick up these very minor repairs I asked the clerk to not charge me the $ 12 for the new hem for the dress because of the amount of time I had wasted coming in two extra times and waiting around for ten minutes each time. He refused, saying he is happy to give 50% off the price but since they have«20,000 items of clothing coming through each day, things get misplaced and it’s not their fault.» I find this hard to believe, as Princeton is small and their shop is likely not able to accommodate 20,000 items of clothing. Also, I am a dissatisfied customer at this point and while it is not a large amount of money, their concern over my business is not so great as to forego their $ 6. I am willing to pay decent money for good quality repairs but I am very frustrated with how disorganized Pristine seems to be. I do not have the time or energy to devote four trips for a very minor task which should be Pristine’s responsibility to complete on time and make my experience as effortless as possible. Instead I wasted more than an hour in transit, worry over my potentially lost dress, and the 15 minutes it took me to write this silly Unilocal review so that other customers can either take their business elsewhere if they don’t want the concern of multiple trips and hopefully, hopefully, Pristine can improve their efficiency and customer service.

Horrible dry-cleaning«service». Bottom-line: don’t leave ANYTHING here if you want it back well done and on time. I dropped off a simple button down blouse, intending to wear it for a very important presentation. They told me I could pick it up the evening prior to my big day but when I arrived, no shirt! It was another 4 full days before a clerk from the store called to say they had it available for pickup. There is a premium($ 7/blouse) to get clothing dry cleaned, which is acceptable for quality and timely service. This service was hardly timely and I asked them to address their service fee given how late this item had been returned. They refused to acknowledge the poor service and my request. Additionally, I was charged $ 3 for a button repair I did not ask for which was definitely not missing at the time I handed them my blouse. Ten dollars and change later, I feel like I’ve been ripped off. Dry cleaning should be a really simple transaction, especially if its really simple clothes. Any service business should base their pricing on the value-added quality of their service. Also, they should address their customers concerns if they don’t want to loose their business — they’ve definitely lost mine.

I’ve been working with shoe repair specialists for a minimum 25 years, having my favorite 2 located in Arizona, I was out of luck in NJ. So I stepped into this princeton shop thinking that they would be the most professional service ever! Unfortunately it turned out to be the worst shoe repair I had ever seen! I should have known by the clerks attitude. I needed the heel tips replaced on a pair of strappy, prada high heels; and asked Caroline how long it would take. She told me it would be 1 day, however the shop would be closed for a week due to the 4th of July Holiday. I decided to get it done since I was there; immediately regretting it as she entered my information into the system, because she began acting very bothered and aloof, curt as hell too. After asking me what was to be repaired, I said the tips need to be replace. She rudely shot back«the heel» to which I replied, «not the heel, just the tips», when she shot back another«the heel» and I kindly said«not the heel, just the tips please» this went on with her saying«the heel» a minimum of 3 times; all the while both I and the lady(whom I assumed was the owner; who was standing a few feet away, in total earshot) looked on in horror. The owner finally came over to the register, after the 3rd time I repeated myself, giving Caroline a weird look, before peering into the computer to show her which code to use. When the owner came closer to the counter, I pulled at both heels on the pradas, showing them both, that the heels and soles were entirely intact, except for the heel tips. I pulled at both shoes, on both sides of both shoes. If it hadn’t been for that, what happened next wouldn’t have been a big deal. But the fact that I showed them both«up close» that the shoes were in perfect condition, sans the heel tips; I was in absolute horror after picking them up. After I giddily paid for them, I pulled them from the bag to examine the tips, only to find 6 metal taps hammered into one of the heels. Not only that, but the sole had been separated from the bottom of the shoe. A space and glue, were all you could see, in the place where a once perfect seam lived. I showed them to the counter helper and she acted as if she knew what had happened, as she was in the background when I initially dropped them off, hearing everything as well. She also acted very aloof, however a bit nicer. She said I would have to speak with the owner, so I left the pradas and awaited a call. The shoe repairman, who picks up the shoes and repairs them offsite, called me to say that he had glued and nailed my pradas, because the heel was so delicate. I explained that the heel was perfectly intact and he said it arrived damaged. So that left me to wonder… what happened to my shoes before the repairman picked them up? Fast forward to today, August 21, 2014, the day I picked my shoes up for the second time. Caroline happened to be working the front counter again and was a bit more courteous this time, and nervous. She hurriedly brought me my shoes, and when she walked away I couldn’t help but notice how big her foot was. I began to wonder if she tried to wear my shoes out of spite? The only way the sole could have been separated as it was, was if someone with a big foot had tried to walk in them; because without the heel tip they were very wobbly. I would never recommend this place to anyone who needed a dollar store pair of socks washed, dry cleaned or even folded; and I definitely won’t recommend Pristine Fine Dry Cleaners to anyone, for any shoe repair, prada or nada either.
