Owner leaves something to be desired. Burger buns were soggy & the meal took way too long to reach the table.

I just started coming here before practice on Mondays. Sean is my favorite server. The beers great and the food has such a variety there is something to make everyone happy. I highly recommend you stop in for some food and a drink.

I was going to say sadly I returned, but this time around it wasn’t that bad. I came here with three other folks before a PC game because the other places were packed. While the place did fill up we were able to get a table. The server was great. The first round of drinks took a while to arrive and it was not her fault as the bar was getting railed. We all ordered food and after about 5 minutes she came up to us to let us know that it would take a little while longer due to the amount of food in the kitchen. No problem. I don’t mind about the wait as long as I am informed of that. Service and food tonight was awesome.

Blake’s is a great spot for drinks. Though we did not eat there, as other food was coming out we kept telling ourselves that we should have ordered food there. We went there after our poor experience at Trinity. We should have just stayed there all night. I would go back here before any game at the Dunkin Donuts Center, or as a night cap to a fun night in Providence.

The quintessential Providence watering hole bordering on a dive bar. Sit at the bar and basically watch the essence of Providence come and go. Suits, homeless, old, young, loud and obnoxious you will see them all. Sort of like the Hot Club where you get a broad spectrum of people, only difference here is they just all don’t get along very well especially after drinking. I have seen a few drunks fighting, a few people thrown out who had trouble standing without falling. Anyone who comes here for the food is probably too drunk to walk anywhere else or has never been here before. The sort of clientele if you set a bar up in Kennedy Plaza, I digress. The 2 stars isn’t for the warm beer or the mediocre food but for the Providence people watching, get drunk and have a few laughs.

Had a wonderful time. Great bar food. Beer list was fantastic. Spent lots of time enjoying feeling like a regular at the local pub. Ribs were great. Cheesy bread was a great start. Had a great appetizer sampler. Ate way too much. Might just move in.

We decided to stop in to watch the Game. We ordered the wings and a quesadilla. The wings were delicious, thick and crunchy! But the quesadilla lacked flavor. The reason I decided to give this establishment two stars is because the service was awful. We waited like 20 mins with empty glasses and our bartender never bothered to check-in. She was too busy socializing with the other wait staff. The customer service definitely lacked.

Came here with several friends after a great weekend in Providence. Food was okay — I had the cheesy bread and the«Pot O’ Gold» appetizer sampler(chicken tenders, wings, mozzarella sticks, cheese quesadilla, & fries). Cheesy bread was good, not great, rather pedestrian. There was nothing special or unusual about it. The sampler was good, fries especially were crispy & well-seasoned. The service, however, was lacking. The kitchen missed one of the items in my group’s order, so it delayed their Shepherd’s Pie considerably. The food in general took a long time to come out(over 20 minutes). This might be a good place to go for the bar & to watch sports, but not for the restaurant part.

Stopped here with friends after Rhode Island Comic Con. Looked for a quick«bar food» bite to eat — and that’s pretty much what we received. The buffalo chicken pizza was delicious — but my gf’s order was completely left out and she had to wait another ten minutes to receive it. We also had pretty slow service on a few requests we had(water, more salad dressing, etc) — and it wasn’t really that packed. By the time we’d finished, we could understand why the place has three stars. Sad too, since the food was all very tasty.

Amazing bar!!! I am here visiting for the first time, and found this bar walking down the street aimlessly. The bartender here is super nice(Sean).Even being super busy, he was not flustered and was able to keep everything in order. I had the Irish Nachos and ohhhhhhhhh man that was good. It’s definitely something for a group of people. Definitely recommend this bar to anyone local or visiting.

After trying to find a bar in providence, my friend wanted to go here after good times at the establishment in the past. Unfortunately, her experience last night did not match the one she had in the past. This was my first time here and I didn’t enjoy the my time. First, my friend was served warm beer from tap. She had a sip and never touched it again. Our food was ok but, I will praise their nachos. They are the main reason I gave this bar more than one star. They were delicious and worth the price. Overall, I was less than wow’ed with this bar and most likely won’t e back.

I love this place! Whenever I go to see a show at ppac, I walk over to Blake’s after for some food. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The waiters and waitresses are patient and always smile. I love the food. I usually get the pizza and wraps. You can’t go wrong here. The best part is that it isn’t too big so you have a more cozy feel. I would highly recommend this place.

I liked Blake’s. We stopped in for just one drink. Huge bar, lots of TVs. The bartender was super nice. Clean bathroom. Honestly surprised the place was so dead on a Friday night because it seems like an awesome bar. There were probably only 10 or 15 people in there.

Our party of four ate her on Saturday evening during the film festival. We actually arrived for a late dinner — probably around 8pm. The four of us just ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table — a couple of Pots of Gold, some wings, and onion rings(along with some drinks). The service was good, although just a tad disorganized when we first arrived as they were changing shifts(or at least switching areas/zones). But once they got settled — after about 8 – 10 minutes — the service was good. Quite attentive and accommodating. The food was good. It was typical pub grub, but good quality. We liked that the Pot of Gold came on a bed of fries, as it provided a lot more food. We did find it kind of odd that the Pot of Gold was advertised as perfect for two people, which it kind of was except for the fact that there was three of everything. Three wings, three fingers, three mozza sticks, and three mini quesadillas. Not exactly built to be divided easily be two people!!! But beyond that mathematical quandary, a good meal with good service.

Disappointed I have been a customer of Blake’s for 20 years and for some reason it has really gone downhill. There’s a whole slew of issues going on here. The menu is a mess, the mainstay corned beef sandwich is on the bottom of the last page on the menu. I ordered a corned beef sandwich on a Friday night and I have to be honest it was one of the worst cb sandwiches I have ever had. The corned beef tasted old like it was cut the day before. Awful Lastly is the prices, Blake’s used to be a divey tavern with a cool atmosphere and cheap drinks. None of this is the case anymore. 2 awful sandwiches, 4 draft beers, and an awful patron to deal with 60 bucks. Terrible, I give this place 2 stars instead of 1 for the good decade that I experienced. Those days are long gone. Go to Murphy’s Thanks

Unpretentious and nearby. That’s enough for me. Add a veggie burger with an option for rye toast along with the comfort of good company afforded by a few friends and there you have it. In a recent visit the service was quite outstanding. Low pressure — despite our taking forever to look at the menu — along with frequent check ins, water refills without asking, you know, what a server should just do and with a smile. Was that condescending? It was meant as a compliment. Blake’s is not quite a regular’s dive, nor is it one of those worth-going-out-of-your-way-for destinations. It’s the type of place where you want to put vinegar on your fries, even if you don’t usually take them that way. It’s the kind of watering hole where you may run into the reigning queen of Providence drag queens, Miss Kitty Litter. It’s the sort of spot where an Advanced Public Speaking professor reserves the back room for a night, so he can have his students give their final presentation — a 5 minute long comedic speech — «in a public setting». It may also be the very location where one strikingly handsome and charismatic 19 year-old stud recounted his many failed sexual escapades for more than three times longer than what was allotted to him and still managed to walk away from the class with an A. I’ll keep that A, but have to give Blake’s an honorable, much-deserved B++.

I went to Blake’s with some friends before a show at Lupo’s and we had a great time. We all ate and the food was great, I had pizza, my friends had burgers, sandwiches, and the mac and cheese and everyone loved their food. The waitress was great, although once it got a little busy, it was a little slow. They also play the music of whoever is playing at Lupo’s that night so that was fun. I would definitely go back to Blake’s, especially before a show at Lupo’s!

I went to Blake’s before a show at lupos and was less than impressed. The food was very much overpriced. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich that had a small sized piece of chicken and a boring roll. The fries were standard. For the drinks, they had a very old school selection on draft. Not to mention, I received the beer in a plastic cup. The beer was also expensive. I think they are trying to prepare you for lupos by charging lupos prices, lol. Anyway, the music was cool, they played the band that was playing at the show. That was neat. All in all, this place was very unimpressive, and I probably won’t go again.
