Food has little flavor — just boring. But service is both kind and friendly, which is the reason for 2 stars and not just 1.

I lived down the street from Gabriels House of Pizza for a couple years. The pizza is good a bit on the greasy side, the service is very fast and the prices are great as well. The owner is very friendly, I went in about once a month and he always remembered my face and at times even knew it was me on the phone when I called in an order. If you order pick-up be sure to give them an extra five minutes or you will be waiting for your food. But if you don’t mind the wait and want your order to be fresh out of the oven show up when they recommend. I highly recommend the«Gabriel’s sub» get it loaded(careful there is also a Gabriel’s pizza). It’s an amazing sandwich and it kept me coming back time and time again. I will be swinging by for a visit next time I am in Providence.

Despite living off of Federal Hill for a good six months, we avoided pizza from the immediate area like the plague. The few times we had anything delivered, it was overpriced, cold and completely mediocre. Disappointing. Other than Pizza Pi-er, Gabriel’s was the next best choice. Inexpensive and fresh, the service was lightening fast while the food was suitably tasty. Lots of great toppings to chose from. Their pizza was a little on the soggy side(which is a no-no for my personal taste buds) but their subs were delicious. I loved their BLT sub with extra balsamic and provolone cheese. I tried their calzones a couple times with pretty much the same result as their pizza however a quick 10 minutes in the oven fixed this issue. The customer service was a friendly highlight: a couple times we managed to call just as they were closing and they were more than happy to quickly whip us up something from whatever they still had out and handy. If you happen to live in the area Gabriel’s is a perfect place to snag some quickie grub on the cheap.
