This place is super convenient for families with little ones. Because it’s «café» it’s easy to order at the counter and wait only a couple minutes for your food. And the food is restaurant quality. Very surprising since its in Nordstroms! But awesome location with a great view of the state house. They have pasta dishes, pizza, and sandwiches. Only one small complaint. I feel like it’s expensive for the portion sizes they give. But I love the convenience.

By far the best kept secret at Providence Place Mall. The view of the city from each window swoons the visitors. I chose the turkey sandwich which in my opinion was wonderful and filling. I did get the shoestring fries for 1.99 that were so good. Worth the pennies spent. The iced tea with lemon wedges was so refreshing. You order at the counter and wait staff comes promptly with your food and to be sure that all is well. My friend ordered the Santa Fe panini and he loved it. The desserts were so tempting yet we went for a Godiva ice cream cone instead. I now wish that I took home a cupcake for $ 3.50 they were huge and decadent. I would suggest this dining if your shopping. I know there are many food places to chose yet this one with the view is so beautiful. A must try!

The staff was very friendly. The food took awhile to come out though and by time it did it was cold.

If you’re looking for a nice meal at Providence Place that won’t break the bank, I highly recommend the Marketplace Café at Nordstrom. You order your food in front of glass cases with examples of the food, you pay at the register, and then you sit down and wait for your meal to arrive. I went with the salmon and it was delicious. It was in a small pool of oil which might not sit well with some, but I loved it as it kept the vegetables and potatoes nice and moist. Stop by here if you want to select from a decent selection of sandwiches and entrees, as it’s relaxing and away from the Providence Place craziness.

For only the second time in my life, I dined at Nordstrom’s Marketplace Café and had dinner this time rather than breakfast and what a phenomenal dinner it was! The service was wonderful from start to finish and the ambiance is most pleasant. It happened to be Restaurant Week in Providence and the menu looked inviting. What was very intriguing was that each dish on the menu was displayed behind glass so that one could really see the food before ordering it. Both my husband and I were delighted with the huge, fresh, delectable gorgonzola and pear salad which was overflowing with sugared pecans, cheese, and dried cranberries. That was a meal in itself. Course two for me was the Tuscan chicken which was with bone — so moist and tasty with mild, fragrant spices which seemed to consist of rosemary and thyme. Accompanying the chicken were several potatoes, fresh carrots, a small portion of corn on the cob, and large chunks of well-cooked zucchini. My husband loved his Penne Bolognese which he said was a bit spicy but perfect for him. And then came dessert — a vanilla caramel cake for the gentleman and I chose a really great soft, chewy chocolate chip cookie rather than cake! We were both thrilled with every course and without hesitation, recommend trying it — especially for the great restaurant week deal!

I was Christmas shopping at this mall last weekend and stopped in to this café. It’s in the back of the store. When I found it and walked in it looked very clean and there were lots of seats available. You can sit where you want to. Another thing I liked it instead of a menu there are plates of food with a number on them and that’s how you order. I love being able to actually see what I’m going to be getting. The girl who took my order was very polite and let me take my time on deciding. I chose the roast beef with au jus and it come with potato chips. This price was a little steep for me. $ 14.59 I didn’t have to wait very long before the waitress brought it out. It wasn’t the worst sandwich I ever had but definitely was not the greatest. Didn’t really have that much flavor. I did finish eating it all but for the price I wouldn’t buy another one again. The waitress saw that I was finishing and brought over the tab. I love not having to flag someone down for it. She left a chocolate stick which was a nice touch and a desert menu just in case… But I didn’t have one. Oh, and the view from here is pretty nice!

Seven stars! I’ve eaten everywhere and the Café is perfect all around… Service is amazing. Food and menu out of this world… They do a great job, and the views in Providence location are a great compliment to a great meal! Go now for lunch or dinner, shop after…

I love Nordstrom Café! I think this is one of the best kept secrets in Providence. There are amazing views of the State House and college hill while you enjoy your meal. The service is amazing, of course! I think the food is better the majority of the options at the mall. Plus, it’s not the chaos of the food court, or the long wait of Cheesecake Factory. I always get the Tuscan Salmon. It’s so good that I researched recipes online to make it myself. My husband like the pizza, salad, pasta and the roasted chicken dishes. The desserts are fantastic, too. Also, decent wine selection! We went yesterday with my very picky children and they loved the food. My daughter ate most of my Caesar Salad. My older daughter ate her chicken fingers, raved about them and asked if she could bring her leftovers to school. This is a girl who eats maybe five things and tends to view food as a necessary evil for survival. I love Nordstrom Café! I hope they are always there!

We made the trip to Nordstrom’s to buy dresses and eat at the café. The glass enclosed counter contains displays of available meals and the staff gladly answer questions. Our little crew each ordered something different, salad, pasta, sandwich, entrée. After placing the order you walk around the corner of the counter to the cashier where she repeats the order, gives you a tray and glasses for fountain drinks. We got our beverages and found a corner booth. What a nice, quiet place this is after the noise of the mall! Why would anyone sit in the food court when they could dine in this well appointed eatery? It really is a lovely, tucked away refuge. A smiling waiter stopped by our table, repeated our meal choices again, and asked if he could get us anything. Before we knew it our food arrived. My meal was not what I had ordered and the waiter, who could tell by the confused look on my face, removed the plate, apologized and said he would get the correct item ordered right away. He came by again to apologize and in no time the correct item arrived. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate such great service. This waiter is a real treasure. He came by again during our meal to check on us and clear dishes. The food here is very good, the booths comfortable and the room elegant. Next time I’m in the PVD Place mall at lunch time, I am definitely coming back!

I actually brought my lunch this time but stopped in to get some water. I stopped by and saw this delicious looking plate on display and had to have it! It was scallops with cauliflower purée with potatoes green beans and corn! I just had to have it because it looked so Delicious! I was greeted and seated very quickly and felt like a celebrity. Nordstrom is known for their Customer Service so I didn’t expect anything less! They over delivered! When my food arrived it was hit and smelling awesome! The scallops were seasoned perfectly and were so juicy band the cauliflower purée was delightful! I also was served a warm dinner roll with some butter that was such a good add on! I tried to savor it but it just wasn’t going to happen! I actually had it 2 times this week!

Walking around the Providence Place Mall for the first time, I discovered Nordstrom’s and the wonderful café at the north end of the third level. The décor is rich, the view of the Rhode Island State House is magnificent. And then there’s the food. This is a place where dining matches the Nordstrom reputation of excellence. Various selections were on display. I was in the mood for a light dinner and chose a salad. Mine had beautiful greens, tomatoes, chicken topped with glazed walnuts and strawberries. I don’t give five stars very often, but not only was this place reasonably affordable($$), I became entranced with the tasteful décor and eating such well prepared food. My salad was a work of art. You must visit if you’ve not been before!

Why oh, why did it take 15 years of the mall being open for me to hear about and seek out the Nordstrom Café? So many disappointing meals in the food court, or over crowded Panera could have totally been avoided. I had heard the myth of the café, but never would allow myself to frantically wander about Nordstrom in search of noms when there isn’t a single item in the store I would ever actually spend money on… between the brands available and the staggering price points. Lo and behold the sales gods smiled on me one Saturday afternoon. Peeking into the 3rd floor the sales floor was noticeably thinner in terms of merchandise, oh there’s a sale! Hmm, this looks to be the children’s floor though… and then, I saw the holy grail, the café sign. Nervous to outright approach, I made my way into the store and lingered around a small housewares display, eyeing the prize. After a few moments of watching clientele go in and out, I made my move and grabbed a menu. I saw some prime seats next to the windows open and not wanting to miss out, I got in line. My sandwich took a bit to come out but it was nice and hot. Just got a veggie pannini, which came along with kettle chips. I opted for an unsweetened iced tea and was given a real glass to serve myself. I was a bit thrown off by the way things worked, some people got their meals while still in line, and others had theirs delivered to the table they picked out. Mine happened to be the latter. A waitress came around and checked on my drink level, if I wanted a dessert, cleared my plate, etc… I think the nicest touch was at the end of my meal I was delivered a chocolate mint and the manager’s card incase I had any issues. Everything that I saw coming out looked absolutely delicious. Yes you’re going to pay a bit more, and need to plan out a little more time than you would to eat at the food court or Panera, but the ambiance and service(plus the quality of the food) more than make up for the extra 15 mins and $ 3 dollars you will spend dining.

I love the café at Nordstrom, not to mention that a) you have a wonderful view of the state house, and b) you are inside Nordstrom! This place is perfect after a long day of shopping, or really any time. I have come to the mall just to eat here. I love the shrimp, corn, and arugula salad(with polenta croutons… amazing), and their chicken chipotle salad(the dressing is to die for). Also, the pizza’s are great and they serve wine! Great spot!

Lets first start off by saying I LOVENORDSTROM! I actually get made fun of by my bookkeeper about how many charges from there are on my card monthly, both for clothing and from this fine eating establishment. This place is really excellent for what it is and what it does. My first thought is that it is there to serve the employees that work in Nordstrom because of the hidden location on the 3rd floor tucked in the back corner. The other part of me says that Nordstrom is a destination for both shopping and eating, both are probably correct. I have eaten here many times and the food is consistently excellent. If you are looking for fine dining and white linen, not what this place is. The Café at Nordstrom is a cafeteria type setting designed for the employee to relax on their break or the shopping patron to sit, relax and refuel before venturing out to do more shopping. There is a wonderful view of the state house from most of the dining room. I seem to be always drawn to ordering the Tuscan chicken. Always juicy and we’ll seasoned along with perfectly grilled vegetables. A very healthy and satisfying dish. Really one of the better chicken dishes I have had in quite sometime. In most cases the service has been excellent. After you place your order at the counter they bring the food to your table and they have a soda fountain there for you to refill your drinks at will. Most times they have a few waitataff that is eager to help with a refill or whatever else you might need. I believe they do bake the items they have for dessert on premise. They were running a special on a cookie with pink icing for breast cancer month. This cookie came out hot and delicious, the icing was melting off the cookie. This place is a hidden little gem inside for what is for me usually culinary hell, the dreaded food court(although some improvements have been made as of late in that arena). The Café at Nordstrom is worth eating at even if you have no intention of buying anything anywhere else. It is definitely a great lunch destination spot in Providence, especially for that Tuscan chicken. I also always like seeing Theresa in the men’s department, she is wonderful. Happy shopping and eating. –LS

This place is great for a quick lunch while shopping. While it is rather dark inside, I think of it more of as a lunch-type of eatery rather than dinner. Great food. It’s Nordstrom… Always quality service. Great place to go with the girls(or guys) while at the mall and looking for somewhere low-key to eat. Worlds better than the food court and quite a bit less chaotic than one of the major(anchor?) restaurants at Prov Place. I recommend.

My friend and I stumbled upon Café Nordstrom as we were browsing through the store. I am so glad we decided to go in and honestly I can’t stop raving about their food and service. I’ve had their special of the day gnocchi, salmon salad, and their chicken pesto sandwich. Everything was AMAZING! Also their crème brûlée is to die for. Literally when we first tasted their crème brûlée, we became silent and our eyes grew. Their service was consistently outstanding. I’ve been to one other Café Nordstrom since then and this particular one in Providence Place Mall is still the best.

Tucked on the 3rd floor of nordstroms, hidden behind the children’s department is my oasis in the mall. I admit, I’ve come here with a book and tucked into something tasty without an iota of interest in shopping. Available offerings are there for your viewing, just point! Daily specials only enhance an already abundant menu for for mall café. Seat yourself and service is prompt, I’ve never had to wait. Dinner rolls warm and crusty brought right out. I am very fond of the chicken pasta rossa and it’s one of the rare places where I will order the same dish time and again. Generally I hate repetition, why eat the same dish if you can try another? However, this is a good pasta. Roasted tomatoes, earthy mushrooms and sautéed spinach in a creamy tomato based sauce lightly coat curly macaroni. Grilled slices of chicken tossed in the mix add protein. Fresh basil tops it off. Yum. Big big plus? There’s wine and beer! And the windows overlook providence w a great view of college hill. Next time you’re looking for a break from the hectic masses, give this place a try.

I’ve only tried this café a couple of times but it’s already become a favorite for dining at Providence Place. The dining room is pleasant and the view of the State House and the rest of the city is amazing. I’ve only tried a couple salads and they were delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. The first time I went I thought it was cafeteria style so I was taken aback by the set up. Since I’d paid for my meal with a credit card at the register, I wasn’t prepared for the attentive server who brought our meal and checked on us. I was embarrassed that I didn’t have cash to leave at the table. When I explained to the server she was very kind. I ended up purchasing a dessert for my son and left a tip on the card. Now I know. The only complaint I have is the price. While good, I think the price of the meals is a little steep especially for the kid’s meals. I’ll definitely be back for the view and the quality of the food but the food court is a better everyday value.

The Nordstrom café is one of the most consistent places I’ve ever been to in terms of taste and quality of the dishes. I’ve never been dissapointed since I’ve started to dine there. The atmosphere is perfect. It’s tucked in the corner of the Providence place mall so not a lot of people know about it. It’s like a Nordstrom secret! My must have favorite dish is the chicken pasta rossa. Their parma pizza is a thin crust pizza with a good bite to it. It’s also a good size for 2 as an appetizer. I always look forward to their daily special on the menu. Their food is very comforting and it always taste delicious. The last time I went there I had the grilled shrimp amd sweet corn arugula salad with polenta croutons. It was refreshing and fresh, I could have a second plate of that!

This corner café tucked away within the Nordstrom store is definitely my «go to» for whenever I am in the Providence Place Mall. Which evidently happens at least once a month. It’s like the food court. When you order, you pay and just pick a seat. But that’s pretty much where the similarities end. Their wait staff service is impeccable and friendly. The café has a classy, casual and fancy vibe. Polished with dark wood, dim lighting and overlooking the statehouse. The café has a great selections of gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes and *gasp* desserts. And my favorite part? They are consistently made to perfection every time I dine here. I always walk in wanting to be adventurous but end up sticking to my personal solid favorites: The chicken strawberry salad, tomato basil soup, and shrimp risotto. Their freshly tossed grilled chicken strawberry salad is perfectly dressed in balsamic. Never drenched. Their shrimp and asparagus risotto depending on the day can be perfectly cooked(not to hard and not too mushy) and seasoned with just the right amount of flavor. Their cup of creamy tomato basil soup quite simply tops off the entire meal for me.
