My boyfriend takes his pizza seriously. He has taken me here twice and I know he orders it for delivery. Now that I have moved here from Rhode Island and have tried other pizza, I agree with my BF’s loyalty. I plan on taking advantage of their happy hour specials.

This is a nice and cozy place to sit with a large group of friends/family. The pizzas are better than average, but hardly great. If you’re not too particular you’ll definitely be happy. Service was OK, nothing too good or too bad.

This place is by far the best quality pizza restaurant around. I am not one who loves pizza but I love this restaurant! It’s all about the clam pizza. I think I could eat one myself. I could try anyway. It’s spectacular. I’ve had other pizzas as well here and they are all superb. It’s all about that crust. They do an excellent job replicating a quality pizza time and time again. I suggest you pay a visit!

With all of the additions to the downtown area and Westminster Street in particular, Coal Fired Pizza was one of the first to come on the scene and I’m truly glad they’ve persevered and stuck around because this is definitely one of the best options for a casual dinner out any day of the week. I really like the pizzas(especially The Eddy), the appetizers that I’ve tried have been great(my favorite is their meatball app, that sauce tho! Ask for an extra side of bread — I promise you’ll want it!), and the sangria is pretty spot on. The only thing I think this restaurant really needs to improve on is the seating process. Every time I come in there is a wait, whether there are four people in the restaurant or 40. I can understand waits when the place is a mad house(as it was last time we were there) but sometimes it seems unnecessary. I will point out that when we had an exorbitant wait time two Saturdays ago, the manager on duty that night made it up to us big time by comping our appetizer and even brought over a dessert for us. It was graduation weekend and so they could have just said«sorry» but the customer service that night was A+. Our server was also absolutely fantastic and I wish I could remember her name to give her a little shout out here! All in all, if you’re looking for a casual bite this is a great option. You won’t see tiny, pretty little plates brought out but real, honestly delicious carbohydrates and sometimes that’s all we really need in life, ammiright? *Protip: If you’re with a small group, or it’s just the two of you, sit by the pizza bar. It’s truly mesmerizing to watch the flawless process and get excited to see your own being made!

Great pizza! This is one of my top spots to go to for pizza! If you like crunchy, thin crust pizza this is the place to go. I like to get their«works» pizza(I believe this is what it’s called?) which has a little of everything and I also like their wings. Sometimes they can over cook the pizza due to being cooked in a coal fire oven and it gives it a char taste which is bitter and burnt tasting so make sure to let them know not too over cooked.

As another reviewer said, it was slow process to place our order after being seated, but once we placed that order and got our food… ALLWASGOOD! We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza, but it was a good simple pepperoni pizza.

Nice ambiance, friendly service, and good pizza options make this a great choice when in the area. Crust is not the best ever, but the toppings and flavor were great on my first ever clam pizza. Kind of like deconstructed clam chowder on a pizza, with truly amazing flavor. I’d come back and try most anything on the menu based on my initial experience. Nicely done.

The name says it all, Prov Coal –Consistently Fire — Pizza. Always amazing food and the prices are essentially nonexistent compared to the cost of any other restaurant within a quarter mile radius. Lunch or Dinner, Prov Coal Fire Pizza is a can’t lose dining option, and I would recommend it anyone!

Slow service at first. Great finish. Wings to die for. Pizza is unique and so good Narraganset cans !! Ill be back So im back this past Friday We got a seat at 6., place was empty but were told to be out by 7… because my table was reserved, really? Looked open strange way to say hello. Our server was nice and quick, Pizza is small and toppings few for 17 bucks. I mean its pizza, seriously. Taste was ok but i definitely wasn’t blown away Theres alot of great pizza in providence and wood fired too. This was disappointing portion Wings not as good as before. Dry, over done and no flavor. I enjoyed the onions more than the wings I recall the wings being juicy and flavorful. Not this time

Had a great dinner with my husband. Ordered the chicken wings to start… yum! Then ordered a pizza – half Conrad and half Steak. Very tasty! Our waiter, Corey, was very nice and attentive!

Pizza was outstanding in this place. We tried the steak and a peperoni. Amazing crust. Amazing sauce. Just the right amount of topping. Wings were also very, very good and a uniquely simple preparation. Well made cocktails. Great service.

I found this on Unilocal… Pizza … well, I love Pizza. it’s really tough to screw up pizza in my estimation… it’s either thin crust, thick crust, stuffed crust, burnt crust, no crust, crusty crust or even crustless crust. I have never had a pizza I didn’t like but I have had many that I wouldn’t try again. PCFP is a place I’d go out of my way for. Simple, sweet crust, special pizza with meatball, lettuce and big mac sauce for the … sauce… yup. Not to much lettuce on top like some other pizza places do with the big mac attack pizza. A sweet perfectly wood fired crust. not sweet in the sense that YOU’D actually notice it but I am trained in detecting the subtle hint of flavors in dough. the service was fine, the location was great next to a public parking lot that charges minimal for your car(unless you sneak in and out it’s free).

Delicious, unique pizza! Theres a really good, noticeable spice to their food from the pepperoni I had and the comments left by other reviewers. The crust is chewy AND crispy at the same time– hard to pull off but perfectly done! Staff seems to be more professional and experienced, and we had no issue with wait times or service. My one disclaimer would be to keep the cost in mind. If you have family visiting and you want to take them out for a great dinner experience, this would be the place. If you’re a college student and your buddies are looking for a quick pizza before a night on the town, just know the cost adds up quick here. 2 large pizzas and 2 sodas was $ 50 + tip. Overall great pizza experience in a world flooded with pizza joints.

This is a great place! There pizza is definitely better than 95% of most pizza. For me pizza is hard to judge. Mostly because pizza is presented in so many forms and in so many ways pizza can be good. People often relate the quality of a pizza place to whether or not they like the style of pizza. This is not that type of review, I like many types of pizza. That being said… This is a special type of pizza. It is a type that is made from high quality ingredients in unique combinations. This is pizza turned fine food(well as best as pizza can be). It’s not your sloppy greasy mess(which you may still love; and also it can be a greasy mess, but a refined greasy mess? I don’t know). Either way, this place is special and reserves it’s place along the fine food restaurants in that area. We went on a Wednesday it was relatively busy(which is always a good sign). Valet parking is fantastic in that part of Prov. Our pizza had a combination of broccoli rabe and sausage. Overall, it was good. The crust in my opinion was well made and also had wonder flavor. One thing that«fine» pizza has over«normal» pizza is a developed flavor in the crust. You should be eating a fine baguette made in Paris turned disc. It was a little too savory for my taste and need something to run to that was sweet to mix things up. But overall thats getting picky, because it was tasty. I liked the beer selection and my wife got a whisky ginger(so theirs nothing to report on their). We did not get desert. OH! I forgot! They have a humus appetizer that is fantastic. I recommend. Thanks.

It’s been a while, so it’s time for an update and unfortunately time to knock off a star. It’s not the food. We still love the food. On a recent visit we had the goat cheese dip, which was delicious, and a ½ meatball, ½ broccoli rabe pizza. The Conrad and the Rocket pizzas are also standouts for us. Service is a whole other story. Every time we go service gets a little worse. My husband and I are fairly laid-back, undemanding diners if we feel service is off, it’s definitely off. On recent visits we’ve had extremely rude hostesses, and super inattentive service. Yesterday’s visit involved a long wait for someone to come to our table and when he did it was a «What are you drinking?» not even a hello. A different waitress brought our appetizer and put it on the table without speaking and walked off. Our pizza arrived less then three bites into our appetizer and was again placed on our table with no acknowledgement. Our bill arrived without being asked if we wanted a second round of drinks or dessert. I think we’ll be giving it a pass for a while and hopefully next time we go service will have improved quite a bit.

I’ve had mixed experiences at Providence Coal Fired Pizza. The building is beautiful, industrial, but can be a bit chilly now that it’s getting colder. Parking is of course a nightmare. The service was wonderful every time we’ve dined in which really boosts my rating of PCFP. The first time we were a group of six. Drinks were all delicious but took forever to come out. We ordered the Coal-Fired Wings, which were delicious but overpriced. They definitely weren’t good enough that I’d pay such a steep price again. For pizzas we sampled the Broccoli Rabe(too bitter for me), Clam(good at first but not something anyone wanted to keep eating), and the BBQ Pork(definitely the winner in our group). We paid way too much for this dinner and even having a coupon didn’t help. I ordered delivery using Dashed a second time. I grossly overpaid for a bland Caesar Salad I could have made at home. The Conrad was warm and looked good. However, there was a strange sour taste that was off-putting. I ate half a slice and we threw out the rest of the pie. The most recent time three of us split a BBQ Pork(because it’s delicious) and Rocket pizza. Both pizzas were a hit but add in a few drinks and our bill was well over $ 100. For hit-or-miss food at such steep prices I’m not sure I’ll return to Providence Coal Fired Pizza.

We made a reservation for 6:30pm … just in case, it is downtown Providence on a Friday night. We found parking right around the corner, which is always a plus — we didn’t have to pay for lot parking or do valet! It was a great atmosphere(except for the crazy crying baby — but that’s not the restaurant’s fault) and tasty menu! Ordered the wings and bbq pork pizza. We enjoyed all of it! It was priced higher than you’d expect for pizza but it’s downtown, so it’s expected. As long as the food warrants the price — not going to complain. The wings were very tasty, right amount of seasonings and we made sure to have each bite with a piece of onion which made it that much more delicious! The bbq pork pizza was unbelievable! Just the right balance of flavors — sweet bbq sauce, tasty pieces of pork and delicious thin crust. Service was very prompt and friendly. We did have to endure a bit of downtown chaos — police cars and firetrucks, but I suppose what’s dinner without a movie? =)

Let me start off by telling anyone thinking of trying place. dont think just GO! This pizza spot has been my FAV Unilocal suggestion yet! It takes a lot for me to say that! This place was excellent ! First lets start with the inside. Clean, large, nice tables and few booths. Staff were friendly and very accomodating. Also a cool feature was the bar area that was shaped in a half moon style around the coal fired oven. You can sit and watch the chefs make all the pizza and food. Which is a new fancy feature. There was also a decent sized regular bar as well. So ok ok lets get to the food! You must try the«Coal fired wings» OMG! So far one of the best recipes for wings ive ever had. They werent your normal boring buffalo or battered wings. They were nice and grilled, they had excellent flavor. Slightly sea salted, rosemary, and fresh black pepper ughhh i wish i was eating some right now! The flavor was something Ive never experienced and just based on the fact that the recipe was different then most places i give them a 5! But wait thats not it… just when you think the wing review was done. NOPE those wings are topped with grilled onions !!! Can we talk about it? Who doesnt love grilled onions!!! Come on your nuts if you dont! Next was the big deal… THEPIZZA! We went with the«Conrad» which was ofcourse out of this world. When chefs say they taste every flavor in every bite or layers of flavor i know exactly what they mean! Every bite of this crispy thin coal fired pizza was a new experience. There was hardly any sauce which was a nice change, topped with mozzarella, onions, HOMEMADESAUSAGE, Roasted Peppers, and peporino cheese ontop. We also went for the gusto and added pepperoni. Each of the meats were so fresh and the real thing! Not that processed crap. I couldnt stop myself from eating lol it was the BESTPIZZAIVEEVERHAD! SLIGHTLY greasy, hot, fresh, flavorful, i mean i really dont know what else to say. It was basically a burst of deliciousness in your mouth lol The pizza would be expensive to some.$ 18 – 20 depending on toppings you add but for the size, and quality you cant beat it! Oh and to top it off… the sangria was great too! $ 9 for a decent sized glass, bold in flavor and a great mix with the pizza. I honestly want to stop writing this and drive there now haha Please give it a try! YOUWILLTHANKME ;)
