Roxy Providence

This was my first time here and i had a mixed feeling. Came for Latin Saturday with my girlfriend and some of her friends. We came at 11 and the club was pretty dead until midnight. Drinks were pricey at 6 or 7 dollars. The crowd was maybe mid 20s to 30s. It got creepy towards 2am when there’s a group of guys surrounding the dance floor watching people or girls dance. Also, the people on stage were smoking weed which was pretty gross for a «classy» place. Music went from modern Latino to traditional Latino to hip hop after 1am. Overall, I’ll probably end up coming back but would leave at the latest 1am since things got sloppy and music was terrible after for a Latin Saturday.

Roxy is probably one of my favorite clubs in Providence even though I went there last year.
This review is obviously long overdue.
18+ (for ladies?) My friends and I went out for a birthday party and we got a VIP table with 14 people. Right when you walk in you are body checked by a few employees for harmful objects. Then you feel as if you are some superstar because of a wallpaper with the club name written all over (great time to take a picture before getting drunk asf haha). I recall the place being a little expensive but totally worth it especially if you have a large group. We spent over a thousand during our stay and actually ended up getting a free hookah because of it. Freaking awesome.
Our bottle service lady was super friendly. She was pretty too! She was always there when we needed her and definitely pleased us with her guest experience.
Since we went on a Friday, it was Latin night. It was my first time ever at a club that played Latin music and I must admit, SO FUN! Once we hit the dance floor the night got even ten times better. It was crowded but there was enough room for us to comfortably dance as we made our way to the middle of the dance floor.
Overall, loved it. Would definitely come here more often if it wasn’t an hour drive away.

This club is fun, great music, space to dance, great to come when they’re giving concerts. But, if you want to leave in peace without having to give an attitude to anyone or get in to some crazy fight, is best to leave at least 1 – 2 hours before the place closes. The parking is crazy, unless you pay for VIP, valet, and that’s if you trust some stranger driving your vehicle to a parking lot. The drinks are a bit pricy but theirs a lot of bars and if you just go there to have fun with friends then you’re in the right spot.

Roxy is a 18 & over club. I been a couple times, it tends to get over crowded which makes it hard to maneuver through. Last time I went was Halloween 2 years ago, big mistake… very immature crowd looking to cause fights and very rowdy. There were girls in literally THONG UNDERWEAR trying to get in but the bouncer did not allow it I mean it was Halloween and all but still!
I like Pearl Lounge better which is a more mature crowd of 20ish and up. Bar and dance floor are available and its less rowdy. Its small and intimate not a lot of crowds.

It definitely has the college club atmosphere, if that’s what you’re looking for. A large 18+ crowd. A lot of older creepy guys attempting to rub up on younger girls. Not what you’re looking for if want an actual bar.

The atmosphere is pretty nice. The DJ does not know how to hype up the people. The dance floor is pretty dead in the beginning, consider that no one would start dancing. However, afterwards it would get too crowded and only some people would dance. If I haven’t mistaken, there is a big screen/​monitor, which is nice. Overall, I believe the club is nice but the people do not know how to get all hyped up.

So just having returned from the D.R. and a pretty lame stopover in Miami… I go to the Roxy with my friend, after having taken him to this place at least a half a dozen times in the last four years, he was sitting on the couch and said «now I figured out why the women are so hot here, their all under 21!» Some people are a bit slow. So this does seem to be the place to be for the eye candy, and if I had’nt gotten hitched four years ago, this place could really be fun. But anyways, this is the spot for the younger set for sure.
On a side note, they always play one techno song around 11:30 and the crowd always seems to freeze in confusion, while I start jamming a bit, the crowd just looks puzzled. I think its time to move…

Good club. Nice door, not assholes, firm and efficient. The DJ is technically proficent but KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT HYPING PEOPLE UP. You gotta set a mood, you gotta rock the mic yourself or have a TRUSTED host /​hype man… sorry NYC has spoiled me.
Drinks are 7 for mixed, 6 for beers.
The girls are OUTSTANDING, very friendly, talkative and sweet… but aren’t big on dancing requests… I think this is more a place you go with friends and lovers… not go to meet girls. We’re 4 boys on the road… we might go back for latin night, where girls know IF A BOY ASKS YOU DANCE YOU SAY YES… we’re not proposing or pulling it out OKAYYY?
PS Closes at 1am!!! BLAAAAAAAAAAA so whack.
