We hit up The Rosendale for drinks on a Saturday night and I have to say, while the music was obnoxiously loud, the beer list was a-ok. Allagash, Brooklyn Brewery, and a cider on draught with a whole lotta bottles options, as well. They have wines and cocktails, too, however I can’t say the Manhattan was awesome. The space has a very clear theme and vision but the seating is arranged a little strangely. My favorite part? Board games! Fun.

Well… music was bumping as I walked in, kinda felt like I was not the right… hummm, how do I say this? The right skin tone. I was very pleased with the drinks as well as the bomb Meatball Flatbread… if you like looking at size 0000 waist bartenders wearing Kentucky Derby hats and stiff drinks, this is the place for you. I’ll be back!

I will say I was really impressed with their menu. And there was nothing wrong with my experience, but in terms of «Ay caramba! I must go back!» I’m about a 3 on the scale. I was, however, a few cocktails in during my first(and only) visit, so you can take this review with a grain of(margarita) salt. I think my biggest qualm was just the change in atmosphere from the previous bars I’d stopped by, which were dark and speakeasy-like. This is not that kind of bar. This bar is Vegas-bright and full of TV’s, a great place to catch a game. The food is bar food, but glorified bar food – I had the smoked mozzarella bites and the meatballs, both good. I also had the Bacon Whiskey Sour. It was a little on the sweet side(maple syrup, though. It’s hard to hate on that), but the bacon + maple combo was like breakfast mixed with alcohol. Maybe this IS the best place to come at the end of a bar crawl after all…

I stopped here last week looking for somewhere close to where I was staying(Biltmore), and could relax with some good food/drink and catch some NCAA b’ball. After driving for a few hours and having a terrible day in general, I didn’t really want to eat(even though it was necessary) and kind of didn’t want to socialize with anybody. I opted for the meatball flatbread, which was pretty good and decent sized. Only drawback was the bottom was a bit soggy, making it kind of hard to hold with the dense toppings. I went with the Bacon Whisky Sour to accompany it. Def not bad — although I don’t recommend eating the bacon after letting it marinate in the bourbon too long. Also have to note how happy I was with the service. The bartender(Britney?) made sure I was enjoying everything and seemed attentive to everyone at the bar, as well as being good for conversation. Some of the other staff ended up chatting me up a bit too(it was a slow night), and by the time I was leaving the memory of the bad day I was having was nearly alleviated. All in all, I was glad I came and hope to return sometime soon.

I stopped in here recently with a few friends for apps. My friends liked their wings. I tried the onion rings and meatball appetizer. The aioli for the onion rings was good but the rings were very greasy, not good. If they had been cooked right they may have been good as I did like the batter. The meatball was very good but I was quite shocked to see one tiny baby 2 bite meatball on a place with ricotta and cheap salad for the price. I could only think wtf. Who eats one tiny meatball for $ 9? No. The look of confusion on my friends faces mirrored my own so it wasn’t just me. I think this place needs a little more time to get it together but I may try it again in the future. The décor is simple but nice and our waiter was friendly.

Great Hangout. I always go there for Lunch. Great selection of beers and food. Really laid back atmosphere and great service. The press sammy’s are awesome. The bacon/date flat-bread is a great option too. Solid burgers.

The food is amazing! The chicken pesto Panini is the best and you get so much meat. The drinks were delicious/strong and the prices were reasonable. The crowd was a mixture of people, perfect place for a social drink. Only down side was, there wasn’t a hostess at the door or a sign so we didn’t know if we should seat ourselves or wait for a hostess.

Limited food options, bill was about $ 30 for a single-patty burger, caesar salad with chicken, and fries for both, which were terribly small portions as well. Came here out of not wanting to wait 30 minutes for a seat at Uno which is nearby, but really we were better off waiting there. We arrived at 8:50, got our order taken at around 9, and did not receive our food until 9:40-ish. The wait staff were friendly enough, maybe the kitchen was having a(VERY) off night. However, no interest in going back ever. Something or other taken off the bill as a courtesy for having to wait so long for a simple order would have been a nice gesture.

Not really sure what to think of this place. I passed a few weeks ago and it looked empty on a Wednesday night, but figured I’d give a try the other day. Maybe because it was Valentine’s day and maybe we had come in right when they were opening, but the staff seemed to be a bit confused. My friend and I sat at the bar and had the Italian grinder coupon to try. Except this was not an Italian grinder, more like a panini. It was very good though, the salsa was good and it was crispy. We also had a side of sweet potato fries that were awesome and crispy! The Cobb salad was pretty good as well. The crowd seemed to be picking up when we left, but the staff still seemed confused and not all there. Maybe just for drinks next time!

I’d give the Rosendale a solid 3.5. I only visited for drinks but I glimpsed at the menu. It looked like inspired bar fare, however, limited in its vegetarian options(or rather, the vegetarian options lacked inspiration — how many veggies are sick of settling for a caprese sandwich, which has become the new«she can eat here, they have salad on the menu,» in my eyes). I’m not a huge flatbread fan but it looked like you can get a lot of delicious options there. Anyway, that’s really the only negative thing I have to say about the Rosendale. The space is modern and open — a total contrast from the Piano Bar it used to be. The Piano Bar was dark, dank, oddly laid out, and unnecessarily claustrophobic feeling. The Rosendale is its polar opposite: open space, clear floor plan/circulation, modern, brighter, and the bathrooms are super clean. The drinks are priced pretty standard/fairly in comparison to other downtown Providence offerings. Cocktails are $ 10, wine ranges from $ 6 – 12, and I think the cheapest beer on the menu was $ 4. They have quite a hefty beer list — a smaller tap list but lots of bottles and craft options. I got a glass of Malbec and it was served in a stemless glass which totally picks up on the chic, contemporary vibe they’ve got going on. My biggest question then for the Rosendale is if it wasn’t to be a hip, chic, contempo bar or a sports bar for suits after work. When I passed by and suggested it as a place to grab a drink, I thought it was the former but, based on the clientele and the amount of TVs, I think it might be pushing for the latter. This creates a real rift in the vibe they’ve been cultivating. Don’t get me wrong, I’m cool with it doing both. I just wonder why you’d want a bunch of dude-bros doused in designer cologne yelling«GOPAAAATS!» through this really cool space that many people who are fundamentally opposed to this public display of barbarism(hehe) would avoid. Basically, what I’m saying, is that it’s a pretty cool spot that’s teetering on becoming just another G-Pub. And I really don’t want it to be just another G-Pub! I’d give this place another shot. Definitely will refresh the review after dining here. But for a drink, this place would certainly hit the spot, especially with a mixed group of co-workers or a quick drink with family before an event.

Bartender is very knowledgable on drinks and food. You got to try bacon on a date flatbread! Who would of ever thought the two went together!!! Genius! Their sweet potato fries are probably one of the best I have had around too! If you love whiskey this is the place for you!

Loved this place — we literally shut it down two nights in a row because the bartenders were great and the atmosphere was fun. It looks like it’s small from the outside, but it’s actually quite spacious. There are round tables int he middle with giant barrel style seats and then booths along both sides. On Friday night, the atmosphere was more casual, and then on Saturday night, there was a DJ mixing some older hip-hop and people were dancing. The drinks were pretty good(not weak in the slightest) and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. Bathrooms were CLEAN which is a huge plus! Had a good time and would love to go back if I’m in the area.

Hands down my favorite new spot! The décor and atmosphere are upscale but somehow laidback at the same time. Everything is reasonably priced and the drinks and food are amazing. The menu isn’t too extensive, but every single item I have tried has been right on point. To name a few — I especially love the Bacon on a date Pizza and The Meatball Panini. Their crafty cocktails(something I usually stay away from for fear of trying something I don’t like) are also awesome and have you going back for more. Love the Don’t Rye for Me… Delicious. This is definitely a hidden gem, when you find it I promise you will keep going back.

Nice corner spot in the downtown area of Providence. The establishment held an inviting atmosphere. The locals at the bar made room for the two is us to sit down and enjoy ourselves. Try the onion rings for an app. The steak sandwich had a kick to it and was most enjoyable.

It’s an ok establishment. Parking is terrible, you’ll be driving around in circles looking for a spot to park. The inside is nice, well lit with clean bathrooms. However, the service is terrible. Our waitress came over and asked if we’d like anything from the kitchen and then realized the kitchen was already closed. Expect to wait at least 10 minutes for your drink or check. Nothing special here, I had higher expectations but they fell short.
