Provincetown is great. And The Red Inn & Restaurant is spectacular! Definitely have dinner, lunch and drinks. The menu is great for all 3. Or stay the week(like me). This historic Inn on Cap Cod Bay iThe suites are well worth it. The staff are very professional, courteous and friendly. I travel widely and often. The Red Inn is one of my top 3.

Nice place, but they don’t go out of there way to accommodate vegans or special dietary needs. The waitress didn’t even bother to check with the chef even though when the reservation was made, we were told that they could have the chef make something to accommodate us. The manager was no help when addressed. The waitress seemed bothered by the special requests and was not very friendly. How about making an effort to have one vegan option on the entrée menu? It was very difficult to find a place to park as their lot was completely full. We weren’t given any recommendations from the host when asked. We won’t be going back. Jimmy’s Hideaway was much more accommodating.

Located right on the water, the Red Inn guest rooms may have one of the nicest views in Provincetown. The Delft Haven Residence, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, feels like the epitome of the ideal Cape Cod getaway. I give credit when it’s due… but the rest of this review is for the Sunday brunch only, as I stayed across the street at Land’s End Inn. Brunch was a let down, especially after hearing the rave reviews. Dinner at the Red Inn is regarded as a highlight in Ptown. By contrast, our experience was characterized by inconsistent service, average food, and mediocre cocktails. We started with a round of Bloody Marys. They were bottle mix quality. Blah. Raw WellFleet Oysters — The crisp, cold water oysters were tasty and the mignonette sauce was extra tangy and delicious. The Red Inn Salad with Chicken — Forgettable. Fried Chicken N’ Biscuits — Hmm someone needs to spend time in the south. Dry chicken, dry biscuits, and not enough gravy. The killer was when our friends at the next table over sent us a surprise bday dessert sampler. The waiter brought it out with candles and all. Then put the sampler on our table’s check. Happy birthday, now pay for your own surprise dessert! We notified the waiter of this, and he seemed uncertain about what to do. At that point, we were so over the whole experience that we didn’t press him to correct the error. The damage came out to $ 75/person for brunch. Definitely not worth it.

Don’t bother! This place survives on past glories. I have been to the Red Inn several times over the past several years when in Ptown and usually it was good; not among the best restaurants I have been to but certainly not bad. But my last trip will be my last. The server was flippant and we felt like we were being hurried to finish our meal so they could use the table. The food was mediocre, I had the duck which was dry and way too salty. They advertise they have adequate parking which is an out right fabrication as we had an early dinner reservation and the small lot was full before 6pm. Also don’t bother asking the host for other parking options in the area as he doesn’t volunteer any information, Overall a very unpleasant experience.

We came here by recommendation of a friend for our first time in Provincetown. Let me tell you, it’s absolutely a hike from the center of town but it’s a beautiful one — well worth it. You get to see some gorgeous views, classic houses, and the beaches are stunning because you’re essentially walking almost to the tip of the town and it’s much less tacky than some other spots in P-town. The Red Inn has a lovely view of the water which is fun to watch as the tide goes out. You have a view from nearly the entire restaurant, but if you choose you can sit in an Adirondack chair outside and enjoy a drink and the unobstructed view. We came for a late lunch as we got sidetracked by some of the beaches on our way, so the only menu available to us was the bar bites menu. We were a tad upset at this limited menu because they were very strict about it. One point of mention is that the food comes out hot as it is prepared, meaning there is a chance not everyone in your party will be eating at the same time unless you order it all to share. Some highlights of the meal included the Kobe beef sliders, which came with two and were scrumptious and cooked a perfect medium rare. The full size burger looked outstanding as we saw others consuming it, but we just missed the lunch menu and it is not on the bar menu *sigh*. I heard raves over the lobster sliders too. Buns were kind of dry and hard though. We LOVED the fries, they were just awesome so we ordered a second round for the table, and yes they are large enough to share amongst the 4 of us. All of the salads we ordered were quite large and definitely share-able(we wish our waiter informed us!) but they all tasted great so we had no complaints. The place is a bit pricey but they quality is good. Unfortunately we only were able to snack and not get to the good stuff on the lunch or dinner menus. I don’t think I’ll be back for that awkward timing in the middle again, but dinner is supposed to be awesome and probably is worth more than 3 stars. Maybe we will meet again!

Another amazing meal with an incredible view. Always top-notch service. Had the cod… after all, this is the Cape of Cod, so it made sense. It came with roasted rosemary potatoes and haricot verts.

Absolutely Amazing !! It was during a thunderstorm we were waiting for our table out on the deck under the awning looking out at the water watching as it rained. The waiter would bring our cocktails out to the deck as we waited. When we sat down the service was amazing and the food was exceptional !!

A completely charming place for cocktail and appetizers. A romantic place for dinner but don’t expect great food. The chef /owner has not kept up with new food trends so the food is very average and in some cases poor. The fish dishes we had were over cooked and bland. Aside from that the place continues to be popular due to location and charm in spite of the food.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night in Ptown. There was quite a crowd, but my friend and I were lucky enough to snag a couple seats at the bar. First off, this place has got to be one of the most scenic places you can find in Ptown. Definitely do yourself a favor and stop by a little before sunset and take it in from the outdoor deck they have here – you won’t be disappointed. For our meal, we decided to start with their special ceviche and the lobster corn chowder. Though the ceviche came highly recommended by our waiter, it was probably my least favorite dish of the night. The lobster corn chowder, on the other hand, was very tasty and a great starter to the meal. Keeping a mainly seafood theme, we decided to split the scallops and the cod entrees. Even though the restaurant was very busy, it probably only took about 20 minutes for the food to come out, which was very quick. The scallops were cooked perfectly and paired well with beurre blanc sauce. The cod was also very good and had a nice flavor when paired with the rosemary from the potatoes. Overall, the ambiance and view from this restaurant cannot be beat in all of Ptown – or maybe even the cape itself. The food is of high quality and is served in good-sized portions, especially for the price. Service is high quality and management is friendly – definitely a must for anyone looking for a nice evening out in Ptown.

Stayed here 3 days 2 nights. This place is AWESOME! Great service, OUTSTANDING views. If you are going to stay on the Cape, This is the place you want to be. a LOT of fun here. We stayed in one of the suites. Private deck, big room, large bathroom. Beds here are comfortable. This place is exceptional. The restaurant in this place was second to none! HIGHLY recommended!

This review is for lunch only… have not had dinner here. The atmosphere is great… beautiful, charming old Inn with big bright windows right on the water. I had the Chicken Cobb salad twice and it was delicious… a very hearty entrée size salad. The service was not quite what I would expect for a fine dining restaurant… even though it was only lunch. The hostess seemed the least trained and a little«off». We dined there three days in a row and each time we went in(two of us) there was no acknowledgement that she had helped us before. She just looked at us and asked«how many?». The waiters were ok, but not fine restaurant quality… forgotten items, specials not always presented unless we asked, no fresh ground pepper offered for the salads… which is basic. However, the food was great, the view was beautiful and I will be back for lunch.

The was decent. They suggested I «butterflied» the filet mignon and it certainly didn’t help. Other than the other plates were great and the staff was pretty friendly. I would certainly return. Enjoy!

Have been vacationing in Truro for 15 years and recently just discovered this hidden gem in the West End! Amazing water views and awesome place to get cocktails! Haven’t eaten here yet but the menu looks amazing. Will now be a go to for a very long time!

I gave this place 3 stars for the great views and great atmosphere. The food was definitely nothing special. I had high hopes since several people recommended this place as being one of the best restaurants in p-town. We ordered a few specialty drinks which were pricey and very strong and just didn’t taste good. The food was just OK, not much flavor. For the $$$$ I expected way more. I may return for a drink on the deck but not for the food. Also getting a reservation was difficult. We called 3 days in advance and all we could get was a 9pm seating.

We were very excited to have dinner at The Red Inn — friends have recommended it to us summer after summer. After making the reservation about a month in advance, we arrived about sunset to best experience their acclaimed view of the bay. Meh, very mediocre fish dishes that were completely under-seasoned(and no salt or pepper on the table). Took us three tries to find a wine that we liked, which ended up being one of the best that we have ever had(Stags Leap Petite Syrah 2010). The waiter was very sweet and conversational. The atmosphere was a little stuffy and dark(an attempt to highlight the sunset). And the crowd was changing over from the happy hour crowd stumbling out to the waspy silver haired people out from the Upper Cape or Vineyard. I prefer Jimmy’s Hideaway over The Red Inn anytime.

I went here with my family while visiting my uncle at his Ptown vacation home. We had a great experience. My uncle chose Red Inn for my dad’s 80th birthday. Anna, our waitress, was one of the highlights of the evening. She was attentive throughout the night. My dad mistakenly spilled the last of the champagne on his lap and she refilled his glass with another bottle to where it had been before the accident. She also gave us a really nice bread pudding on the house for desert since we had a couple of birthdays at the table. The view of the bay is incredible — we had a great table by the window. It’s unparalleled as far as the various restaurants go. The food is great as well. I tried the filet minion and smoked duck. I would recommend them both. Once again though, the service was personal and thoughtful. It’s the reason this review went up.

Amazing spot — great food and fantastic view! Great place for romantic getaway. You can start with ordering a bottle of champagne and sit outside in the Patio and enjoy beautiful view of Provincetown Harbor. The only problem we had that we didn’t make a reservation in advance and had to sit at the bar. But we were greeted by a very friendly bartender who entertained us for the whole night! We ate at the Bar and ordered Smoked Long Island Duck and it was melting in the mouth. It was de-boned, smoked, and covered with orange peppercorn glaze. The place is pricey. We spent about $ 200 for a few drinks and dinner. But the highlight of our experience was watching fireworks from the Deck while sipping nice cognac. Very memorable experience and we are planning to come back soon. But this time we are going to make a reservation in advance.

While in PTown I highly recommend you venturing to the edge for dinner and drinks and this beautiful restaurant. The menu is simple New England comfort and sea food with a splash of savory mixed in. I promise you won’t leave regretting the experience in the least and most likely will tell your friends about it.

Oh what a charming spot. We went for happy hour. We loved the views and the open air setting. The bar staff were warm and welcoming. Raw bar was delish. We took our drinks and sat outside savoring the views. Can’t wait to go back for dinner! Pure romance!

I made reservations at The Red Inn at the suggestion of the innkeeper at The Fairbanks Inn. Their suggestion was spot on. We had a table for two right next to the water but inside as it was already getting chilly and they weren’t serving on the deck. We had to wait 10 minutes for our table. Normally a good time to have a cocktail but we were all«wined» out from a fun vacation on the cape. ordered pâté appetizer, tuna seared with a salad and grits and baked cod. all were outstanding as was the local bottle of red wine from Truro Vineyards. dessert was chocolate flourless cake that was probably one of the best ive had. The Red Inn is a gem in Provincetown. Service fantastic from the host at the door to the waitress to the busboy. Parking in a private lot is easy but make sure you reserve ahead of time here.

Jantamos maravilhosamente bem. Meu marido comeu carneiro e eu file com aspargos e batatas assadas. De sobremesa pudim de pão. Delicioso mas um pouco caro!
