New place in town and decided to check it out. Happy hour prices are very good. The calamari is so good, made with tempura batter and unlike any calamari I’ve had before(and I’ve had a lot of calamari at various places). The sushi chef is very personable also. Fast and friendly service from the wait staff.

Amazing sushi for a great price! I love that it’s not crowded like the other sushi place in Puyallup. Awesome service, we felt very welcome! We each got the 3 for $ 22 deal so we were able to share our six rolls and got to try a bunch of different things! Definitely coming back, I highly recommend this place!

Disgusting… I cant put it in words. Everything tasted overly fishy like they been sitting in refrigerator for too long. I cant believe conveyor sushi is better than regular sushi around this area… Shame…

There is a reason the parking lot is always empty. In order to generate business you have to actually care about what your consumers want. We have been several times and the sushi is good but unfortunately good food doesn’t make up for bad service. They have done away with the all you can eat special. Every time we have been people have walked out because of the head Sushi chefs strict policy. They advertise all you can eat on their web site but don’t honor it. Their 3 roll special has to be all different rolls. For the price and service your better off just going somewhere else.

We came in thinking it was the old Trappers, needless to say we started our experience here very disappointed. We decided to try it because they had an awesome lunch special — from 11 – 3 you can get 2 rolls for 11.99, so we each got a roll. They were absolutely delicious! Staff was super friendly! Completely turned our moods around, and we will come here again! Great food & service!

Not going back. We came for dinner and apparently it was happy hour. Their deal is you get any 3 rolls for $ 21.00. The place didn’t seem busy enough for me to risk the fish so I ordered the 3 veggie rolls, knowing and expecting it would only come to 14 $ but when I received the bill the waitress charged me the 21 $. When I confronted her about it she clearly could not understand why o wouldn’t want to use the HH deal :/The veggie rolls were really boring and room temperature.

Service is slow, prices are on the higher end for smaller size rolls. Wasn’t impressed with the flavor of their rolls or appetizers(jalapeño and mushrooms). Staff was nice. Not memorable and better places around that are cheaper. For one roll and an small appetizer it was $ 20. I could have gone to so many other places with better and more filling food for half the cost of a less than mediocre meal at this place.

We were hesitant to walk in the door as there was only one other table filled at 6pm on a Tuesday. We were pleasantly surprised with both the service and the food. I recommend the sashimi — it was super fresh; all of it! Glad to have a new sushi place in town as Trapper continues to decline. My husband had the stir fry chicken and it was great too! Will be back!

I’ll start by saying their service is great and staff is very friendly! They were very good with our daughter. Food was decent but not worth $ 28 for all you can eat. Drinks are not refillable and there wasn’t much of a selection for rolls.

For anyone wondering if this place can compare to Trappers(the former sushi restaurant at this location), as a certified DIEHARD of Trappers, I can say with conviction that it not only compares, it exceeds it! My guy insisted we try it, and I resisted, saying we should just go to Trappers new location down the road. AM I GLADHEDID! ITWASAMAZING. Don’t miss the Ari roll, Pearls on the Beach, Killer salmon roll, and crunch shrimp roll. The ingredients were high quality, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The service was friendly and efficient. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Location/Atmosphere: This used to be the establishment for Trapper’s Sushi before they moved. Very convenient location. The inside is about the same as Trapper’s before. A little remodeling, but they still have limited seating and a bar area. Service: My boyfriend and I went during a very off hour(around 3 or 4?) so no one was in the restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, but not overbearingly so. I could see that there were 2 or 3 more people in the kitchen/bar area, but they didn’t interact with us(which we totally didn’t mind!). We got our food very quick, but we were also the only ones there lol Food/Pricing: If I was just rating for the food, I’d give them a 5⁄5! It is incredibly delicious. Fancy sushi is the best because it’s dressed up with all sorts of goodies. But it isn’t this crazy deep fried, slathered in cream cheese, «where-the-heck-is-the-fish», kind of sushi. The food feels very intentional, if that makes sense lol. Definitely beats conveyor belt sushi! We got three rolls for $ 21 and we were both full by the end of the meal! Everything tasted fresh. Definitely worth it. Overall: My bf and I had an enjoyable experience eating at Sushi Ari. They do have an All You Can Eat special for dinner(bar only) that we might be returning for! I imagine this being a good place for a dinner date :) My only advice for the restaurant is for how they’ve organized their menus. The list of rolls were condensed on the back page. Some of the rolls had very long names/long descriptions, which made it VERY hard to keep track of what we wanted. I recommend to alphabetize the list, as well as changing some of the names to make it shorter or use an ingredient in the name like«Amazing Salmon roll» vs. «The Amazing Roll»(btw there is no such thing as The Amazing Roll there, I just made that up lol). Friend me if you have any more questions: D Happy dining fellow eating enthusiasts! Warmly, Ammy :)

Had dinner last night and we were very impressed by the quality of the food– were I to provide a rating based on food quality alone, Sushi Ari would receive a full five stars. Plating was gorgeous and fish was high-quality, some of the best I’ve had. Fried rice was on point, very good, again, very fresh seafood. However, as a means to help the business improve, I would suggest that they A) Bring all menu items at one time. We ordered no appetizers, only entrees, yet each dish was brought 4 – 5 minutes apart. Made for an awkward eating experience when some people at the table are waiting for food while others have received their plates. 2) Provide a more descriptive menu. We ordered a selection of sashimi and nigiri, chicken yakisoba, and seafood fried rice. Our sashimi and nigiri both arrived topped with sauces, which were not noted in menu descriptions– not a huge deal for some, but since this is atypical, it would be nice to know beforehand so that you can order it without if you so please. Instead, sashimi was simply listed as «sashimi», not«sashimi, topped with an array of sauces.» 3) We received chicken teriyaki, not chicken yakisoba, as we had ordered. We didn’t say anything, because we’d already waited for each dish with the awkward spacing, and because our sushi items were not as expected. All in all, very good food, but I can imagine that some customers might have reacted more adversely to the experience. Still, now that I know what to expect, I will be back– the food really is that good. I just hope that the business is able to make a few changes to their service patterns so that they become a long-term fixture! Our waitress was very sweet, but I think that the newness of the venue may be its weak spot: needs more concise food delivery and a more descriptive menu and they’ll be a hit.

Went in on day 3 of them being open. The girl at the front was very nice(she’s really the only reason they aren’t getting a ONE star here). The roll selection looked ok, they will be doing all you can eat but only at the bar, which is small, so just like Trappers when they used to be at this location it will be stupid busy and you’ll never actually get to do all you can eat cause the bar will be full and there will be no seating(it’s really an annoying rule). As to the food — I got a roll and I don’t really remember which one, but the girl said they could«make it spicy» since I like my rolls spicy and they did not have many spicy rolls on the menu. What I got was sweet and not spicy at all. She brought this red sauce on the side that was supposed to be spicy… it was just gross, and not that spicy either. I also ordered the jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and crab(I think)…It’s a jalapeño it should be spicy right??? Sadly not even the stuffed jalapeño had any heat… WTH!!! I got to about the 3rd piece and what should I find in my food? a hair… black and about an inch long, so very obviously NOT my own. That ended my meal, the girl was nice and didn’t charge me for anything, but I don’t want to have to inspect my food in the future, so I won’t be back.

Brand new location. Very friendly staff and the owners are very welcoming and funny. We had both sushi rolls agedashi tofu and the beef bulgogi and they were all delicious! I would defiantly recommend this place.

Two Koi has come to Puyallup!!! Same owners, all the best menu items, more casual and a little less expensive right here closer to home. They haven’t advertised, and we were thrilled to have the place to ourselves their second day of business. Word will get out fast, and we’ll have to fight for a table next time, but it’ll be worth it.
