I eat here about twice a month. Only once the food was old due to I assume almost dinner time. Over all I like it better than China Buffet. The noodles, potstickers and sushi are superior to them. Definitely eat here. Lunch 7.99 Mon Wed-Fri Dinner price I think was 13.99. I can’t remember because I just at lunch there.

This was an awful experience. It’s horribly overpriced for the little did they have to offer and the food was really awful. Even the crab legs were so salty I couldn’t eat them! Note to self: when you go into a restaurant at 5:30pm and there’s only 2 other customers, walk away*

I couldnt have had much better customer service. I was able to eat with only the employess an owner which seem to be good people. Oyama is a brand new resturaunt and offers very good ambiance with decrotive light and mirrior finishes as well as nice chandeliers. Too rap this review up, I have to mention that they have good sushi and offer a korean bbq style cuisine. This place is family owned and operated and is a great place to enjoy a buffet lunch or dinner. In my opinion the only few downsides are the lack of doors on the restrooms. Located at Quznos on Meridian in Puyallup. Enjoy and thanks for checking my reviews out.

Tried the lunch and it was horrible. Hard rice, hard noodles, creamy shrimp was just coconut milk dumped in. Everything was dried out and sitting to long. We were there bcuz a friend wanted to try it for the bbq, but that’s not till 4pm. Worst buffet I’ve ever been to. GO some where else! This is a negative 1 star rating, just imagine a negative sign on that star

First visit to Oyama, it has been a pleasurable experience. Large variety of food from desserts, fruits, sushi, a good selection of meats including spicy pork, bulgogi, ribs, chicken, and others. Sweet & sour chicken, mondu, soups, crabs, shrimp, crawfish, and plenty of sides to choose from. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. Made it for the grand opening time period for 30% off which was also a plus. Despite arriving sunday evening prior to close, the food was great. Topped it off with some ice cream for dessert. Overall two thumbs up, I would recommend this place to my friends.

Decided to try out the newly reopened restaurant. It was not as good as it was under previous owners. The décor is essentially unchanged. Prices are substantially higher. $ 12 for lunch is outrageous. Do they really expect people to pay up to $ 20 for a buffet? They try to justify the prices because they serve crab and lobster. The egg drop soup was watered down and almost tasteless. The miso soup was somewhat better. I chose the grill option. The grilled meat was quite tasty from the marinade, but the chef didn’t cut up the vegetables at all, so I was served whole mushrooms, whole cloves of garlic(!) and whole slices of onion. My wife said the food on the buffet tables was cold and that only thing they got right was the sushi. We will not be returning.

So this place is very new; Grand opening and they need a lot of work. The food under the heat lamp or on the warmer, was cold. The waitress ignored us after a an Asian family came in. She catered to them the rest of the time. She walked past my table several times and didn’t refill my water. I end up getting my own refill. And even with all that I was willing to do 3 stars, but what got them 1 star is I believe I was over charged. For two people, with their 30 percent discount for grand opening, we paid 34 dollars. The lunch menu said 12 dollars per person, so I guess the 2 fountain drinks were 5 dollars per person. And I had a so called military discount applied. So yeah I don’t plan on returning and I didn’t feel very welcomed or taken care of. So you’ve been warned.

Grand opening!!! Drew Q —- drive down here !! Ken L — — come give this place a try! 30% off. Limited time. Korean BBQ has finally come to Puyallup! Cham Garden is still my favorite! But this is good because it’s closer. Great selection. Tempura shrimp. Lobster claws. Crab legs. The only thing I recommend … Change the name !!! Something Korean. Like«» Gocheechung Korean BBQ. «« Reason; Oyama is Japanese. Not to mention, the previous owner accumulated bad Unilocal reviews that have nothing to do with this new business. Spend the extra money, change the name, replace the signage and succeed in Puyallup !!!

Place is clean and service is great. It’s new so not a lot of people know about it but they put out small portions so can bring out fresh and hot food all the time. They have salt and pepper shrimp, snow crabs, and lots of variety of sushi. A Mongolian grill and a steak grill. Defiantly recommend this place over New China buffet down the street. They have terrible service and don’t recommend that place to anyone. Oyama preferred!:)

This place sucks! No joke. Not being harsh. It straight up sucks! Food was stale. Not much of a selection. They had their son running around being annoying and trying to help at the hibachi. Not worth &12.99 per person.

At first I was excited about all the different choices of the buffet. And then I sat down to eat. There was food still left on my fork! Yuk! I got another fork and started my adventure into the unknown, and I mean, unknown. I bit into something that I can only discribe as, gross. It was I think a piece of salmon. Dried out and fishy. The other items were mediocre. The best thing I had was the ice tea. Now they can make a good glass! It was brewed to a nice light caramel color and had a floral taste. I would not recommend this place to my friends. But if you like over cooked salmon, by all means, enjoy.

Worst Buffett that I’ve been to! My husband and I took our kids to eat on a holiday… One would think that they would have their best game intact! Their food food was dry, and old. The fried rice was crusty and hard because it obviously hadn’t been changed in a while, their noodles were just the same! The sweet and sour chicken was dry and the sweet and sour sauce was awful in flavor. The steamed crab was not steamed! Obviously the crab is boiled because it has no flavor but a disgusting smell! It was just bad! We were there all but 10 minutes after a few bites of disgusting food we decided, we wanted to leave because their food was worth maybe $ 5 a head NOT $ 14. So, after kindly explaining we want to leave and will agree to pay for our drinks and ONLY1 Meal(EVENTHOUGHWEHADEVERYRIGHTTOWALKOUTWITHOUTPAYINGAFTEREXPLAININGHOWDISPLEASEDWEWERE!!) I was at least graceful to offer THAT much! The owner was distasteful and rude beyond measure! I threw $ 20 bucks at ‘em and left! It was disgusting. They had 3 tiny pieces of sashimi the whole time I was there and didn’t bother to replenish it, same goes for everything else. I wouldn’t have minded if the food was good, but it wasn’t! There was maybe 12 people total eating on a Friday night. This is not a reflection on their service, but on the quality of food and the standards of operating a restaurant/business. I doubt they will survive.

I posted on here a few weeks ago but it wasn’t long enough for a review so since I posted another review tonight I’m taking another shot here. First, just read Jon G’s review and not sure if he went a bad day or he knows of some place that is truly a super Asian food buffet because this place has about as much selection as most other«Chinese» buffets. As far as freshness I guess that like at almost any other buffet could depend on how busy the place is, the times I have went it was busy and the food was being ate so there was no choice but for it to be fresh. The food was reasonable and honestly good for places here in the NW. I’m from the east coast and I like the Asian style foods better on the east coast but compared to most places near this location the food was pretty decent. I like a few places over toward Lakewood, Tacoma and DuPont better but they aren’t always worth the drive for the difference. I wish whoever did the remolding work would have payed a little more attention to laying out the pipping and such as they have what looks like a heavy wire, pipe or refrigerant line in the one front corner exposed outside the wall and a few other things which kind of ruin and other wise very nicely finished and decorated décor. This place is enough of a threat I guess that the other buffet right up the street from it the last time I was in there had upped their game and even cleaned out their fish aquarium which had always been a green cesspool any other time I have been in there. The food is different enough at both they should both be able survive but this place has a much nicer atmosphere.

Went here for the 4.5 star rating, selection was small, food wasn’t all that fresh, giving 2 stars to bring the rating down to reality

Under new management of sushi oyama. Buffet. It is complete better than other store. The Chinese food chef serving for local customers for more than ten years. The sushi chef from New York, he makes every part of sushi complete from other, all New York style.

Great value for the money. We went there for lunch, the outside doesn’t look very appealing but once you enter the restaurant the interior is clean, new, illuminated and spacious. There is a huge amount of variety, you don’t know what to choose first. There is Chinese cuisine, sushi, nigiri, seafood, salads, fruits and desserts. Everything was delicious except the sushi that could be a little bit more fresh and the wasabi that had a different taste like from other sushi places. Almost everything from the hot food section bar was delicious and they even had green tea ice cream :). The stuff was very fast and polite. We can’t wait to go again but we would like a more variety in the desserts section. We hope the prices remain the same.

Good value — all you can eat sushi and Chinese food buffet. Mongolian BBQ available as well. They have some more kid-friendly items too. Military and senior discounts available. The food quality was what I expected for the price and style restaurant with a great variety.
