All you can eat sushi! Sushi is not the best I’ve ever had but it’s good quality sushi for the price. Wait staff is usually very attentive and friendly. Sushi bar chefs are friendly and quick to get your next roll done to stuff your face. Sometimes its a little busy to get a table so we settle for a bar seat or at the sushi bar but the wait is never too outrageous to get seated.

We have come here multiple times. Usually for convenience and the sushi isn’t bad. Not a bad place for a quick lunch if it isn’t busy. However when it is because, the wait for for slows down to about 25 – 30 min. We got placed in some middle table right in the way where everyone walks. We weren’t disrupted because of it but it was very inconvenient seating. Food was good as usual. It’s not the greatest sushi in the world, but if you just want convenient sushi for a general price, it’s not a bad place to go

Extremely busy. Sushi was good but I did not know what I was ordering really. Employees were overwhelmed. Prices are decent compared to portion. Happy hour is a good value but you have to order exactly within the timeframe. Several obscure rules.

Ever since the Puyallup location moved to sunrise it’s been terrible. Today however was the worst I’ve experienced and I won’t be returning to this location. The host guy said 5 minutes to be seated. 20 minutes later we were seated. After 15 minutes our waitress(Courtney) came and took our order. 30 minutes later we get our order. That being said my deep fried bonneylake roll was cold. So that’s sad. A group of 5 sat down about 10 minutes after us and received their rolls before us(about 5 minutes before us). Then there was another couple that got seated and ordered before us about 5 maybe 10 minutes and they got their food after us. Idk if their order got lost or what but I actually felt bad we all got our rolls before them. I noticed the guy get up and find his server and talk to her then about 5 minutes later they got their food. Like seriously. There waitress never refilled our waters. She never even came back except to give us our food. But all the servers would gather around the corner of the sushi bar and talk then they’d all seperate and deliver food then go back to their little corner. I get your waiting for the chefs who are clearly busy but maybe try cleaning one of the many disgusting tables everywhere instead of standing around talking. Or try telling your customers hey your food is going to becoming up. Or refilling drinks. It’s seriously like they don’t care about their customers. Like you work for tips so why don’t you try to be a little helpful so maybe you’d get more in tips. I work for tips and I always over tip and I like refused to tip today and I never don’t tip but watching lazy servers not even caring just set me over the edge.

I won’t go on and on, I think most people in the area will agree that Trappers has about the best sushi around, especially for the all you can eat price. I just wanted to update because we finally made it today to the Sunrise/Puyallup location. We were happy to see the larger bar space for seating as the previous location was always packed on weekends and during peak lunch/dinner times. We had great service today, actually probably the best. I realize we came at a great time 2:00 on a Wed. and had half the bar available to sit. We basically had our own sushi chef to ourselves(3 of us) which was great. He was fast and very personable and even made a custom creation based on my tastes, something he called a jalapeño popper roll, really good. The waitress was attentive as well taking away our sushi plates and tending to our beverages frequently. The sushi as always was on point. This time I have pics to support our visit. Keep up the good quality of fish and service!

This is our second visit to this location. The first time was grand opening, and the service was terrible. Came back to try again. We were greeted and seated right away. Ordered and then I think we were forgotten… won’t be back to this location again. Service is still terribel, and I’m not sure why. Will go back to the Bonny Lake location. They are amazing.

I love this place. Friendly and professional staff and delicious food. Only complaint I have ever had has been the wait, but when you have a great place like this a lot of people want to go so sometimes you have to wait(always worth it)

To start off we were not shown to our table or given menus the«host» pointed and instructed us to the lounge. When we sat it was probably five minutes before we got menus. The server(Daniel H) came back by and took the menu my friend was reading right out of her hand and said oh I gave you too many. Then finally water, she took our order without writing it down and had to repeat it back several times. The edamame came out cold with the sushi. Sushi is ok, but fish is on the warm side and a little mushy like its old. Not impressed! The only reason this place stays in business is because it’s the only sushi place around.

Best sushi in the state, if not the country. My favorites are Trump, Trapper, and Mountain. Clean and service is satisfactory. You can get traditional sushi if you’re a sushi purist. The fish is always fresh. The bathroom is clean but needs a stool for the kids because the sink is much too high. If you are at the bar doing the AYCE, you will need to speak up if you want the rolls to keep on coming, especially if you’re in a rush and they’re busy. Kids can sit at the bar where they can stack the high chair 2-high, to get the right height. I usually order edamame and/or a chicken nugget boat for the kids since they don’t allow sharing.

wow!!! called an order in today, about 40 min ahead of when i planned to be there. The person who took my order said 25 min. Great, 40 min later i show up and pay. After sitting for 10 min they tell me the are going to make my order. Now im late for work and have no dinner. I had to leave and call in to ensure they cancelled the charge. The manager took care of it without one apology. I guess that is how little my business matters. when they arent slow or getting orders wrong it is tasty.

This is our favorite sushi spot! We especially love the bartender, Dani. She can make some amazing drinks! So come here for drinks even if you don’t like sushi lol. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. I look forward to seeing what they have for their weekly drink/roll special. Just like any other place, sometimes the service can take a bit, but the atmosphere and friendly staff make up for that. Stop in and check it out. You won’t be sorry!

I have been to multiple Trapper locations, as well as Sushi Town in Bonney Lake. Tacoma was the worst I have been to, and this is the 2nd best after Sushi Town. I recognize some of the more veteran chefs at this location and they always give amazing service. The servers can be a bit too much here though. It’s located where the old Sushi Station used to be. it’s a bit far from where I live. and I need to trek down the traffic heavy streets of Meridian. but at the end of the day. it’s worth it. When they are busy and you are sitting on the far right bar for all you can eat, expect to wait ridiculous amounts of time.

My friends wanted to have lunch and one of them insisted on Trappers. I’ve heard a lot of good and bad things about this place and was eager to form my own opinion. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly with menus and waters. Ordered after 10 minutes of analyzing the menu and then were brought out edamame, miso soup, and cucumber salad. I really like edamame so that was a plus. Miso was average. But the cucumber salad. It was cucumber and sesame seeds lol. I mean what? Well, it came with my meal so I can’t complain. I settled on getting the long roll variety which was 4pcs of 4 different kinds of rolls for $ 20. The rolls were good. Lot of flavor. Unfortunately, they had a lot of sauce mixed in. One of the rolls had salmon, tuna, and hamachi on top but the sauce mixed with the scallops took away from it. One of the rolls is just one piece of breaded shrimp wrapped in a lot of rice and some sesame seeds on it. It says it should have spicy sauce but it did not have any. However, I’m glad it didn’t because it was the only roll that didn’t have a slight mayo taste to it. However, that one roll left a lot to be desired. My friend had the katsu plate and a roll and enjoyed her meal. The other had the gyoza appetizer and a roll. She said it was good to but seriously $ 6 for 6 pieces of gyoza? You could buy the frozen pack that they buy for $ 5 and get five times the amount they give you. Overall, a good lunch. Would recommend if you want to try a whole bunch of different types of rolls.

I have been coming to this sushi restaurant for a while now and am always impressed with their menu items, variety of sushi rolls, their awesome service, and the environment. Its a fun experience to develop relationships with the sushi chefs at the bar, and it feels like home. Corbin, one of the sushi chefs, has such an amazing attitude and sense of humor. He works hard to make each customers experience a memorable one, and puts passion into what he does. It’s staff like him that keep me coming back for more. Favorite roll: Rock and Roll. Try it out and never go to any other place for sushi.

Well, terrible experience here. My dad is not a fan of sushi so he got an emerald city smoothie to drink before we went over here. We walked into the bar at trapper and I ordered 2 Bonney lake rolls and then the server told us that my dad couldn’t have his smoothie in there and he could go leave it with the host. Wtf Of course we just left. I’m never going there again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone ever. Yea one star is harsh but me driving 25min to get there just to hear that shit was too.

Our server was friendly and the food wasn’t horrible, but it definitely wasn’t good either. I don’t know, maybe for Americans this is considered good but if you’re looking for Asian food then you won’t find it here. The most important part of sushi is the rice, and theirs was incredibly bland and mushy, as opposed to sticky. The ingredients within seemed okay on their own but the combinations of ingredients in the roll were so that everything just mushed together. Oh, and their chicken teriyaki kids meal was just plain over-cooked chicken with some watery teriyaki sauce poured on top. Hope the one for adults is better… Not the worst meal ever, but definitely don’t feel the desire to go back again.

Hannah is still the best in this restaurant. My food is always right and she takes care of whoever is with me. Tony is the most competent in making the sushi, as he is very consistent. Don’t bother sitting in the dining room unless you have to, made that mistake two weeks ago. Our server got most of the tables orders wrong, which is why I walked to the bar to place my order to begin with. 4 months ago: Great menu, good bar staff. This is a new establishment so give the staff a break and realize food will be a little slower while they are getting started. Mt. Rainier Roll is so good and the Trump, as is the Volcano Roll. Great Happy hour Sun-Thurs 3−6p. I love that they have a separate bar area with a separate entrance. We needed a good place here on the hill.

This is Trapper’s newest location. Moved from their location near the mall, to this location. Interior feels a lot more roomy and spread out, not only for the patrons but for the sushi chefs behind the counter as well. Still feels like they’re trying to learn how to spread their proverbial wings, the staff is still trying to work out some of the smaller kinks in their new palacial digs. I would advise patience. The food always speaks for itself, and by that how much more fresh does the all-you-can-eat option get? I love it. Love their varied selection of long rolls, appetizers, nigiri and most of all their presentation. Not only does the food look good, but the chefs have flair. While the lunchtime all-you-can-eat is easier on the wallet, the dinner version offers you much more. If you’re a vegetarian, they have something for you too. Child? They have a menu for them too. They also have HH specials. If you sit at the sushi bar, you’ll notice the tip jars. One of the other earmark items since their move is that the sushi chefs no longer pool tips with the waitresses, so keep that in mind when tipping :) Parking is way more open and less treacherous than the previous location. Lots of parking out back and a cool fireplace to hang out by when it’s chilly out and you’re waiting for your table :)
