This place is near the hospital and has pretty good prices! I would recommend you prepare yourself for a food coma/oil splash because the food is overall very oily. Granted it is a fast food Chinese place it was still oozing with oil. They do give free soup or soda with big orders so do not hesitate to ask! Close to the hospital but hard to find on navigation.

Hands down the best dumplings I have ever had at a take out Chinese place. Flavorful sauce with it too. I also got the General Tso’s chicken, which I thought was just okay. Way too sweet for me.

I hate myself everytime after eat this stuff. The sauces are really gloppy. Even the basic stuff like hunan chicken or beef and broccoli doesnt taste good. There fried rice is also really dry. Like another reviewer said, this place just looks dirty, like a typical hole in the wall chinese take out joint

The place is not really cozy and seems to be dirty. My boyfriend and I ordered some food to take out. The Pad Thai was not a Pad Thai… Full of duck sauce! Disgusting. Steamed dumplings, fried rice and pork ribs were pretty good.

home sick and decide that some hot and sour soup, and fried rice with general cho’s chicken would hit the spot. My partner ordered orange chicken with wonton soup. Everything was hot and fresh but overly sweet and both chicken dishes tasted exactly the same, except one had some orange rind in it. The hot and sour soup was horrid. one of the worst I have ever tasted with a nasty sour taste(not vinegar mind you) and the wonton soup was beyond ordinary and inspid. The wontons doughy and the filling shriveled up. Would not recommend them at all!

Just wanted to throw in an updated review of hopbi. We live close so its our go to. Sometimes delivery is a little slow but I have learned its because tjeybarenso busy. A few times they have forgotten an item in our order… But they have always returned back with the correct items. I love the dragon Phoenix.

Decided to give it another try for just soup. Ordered a quart of wonton egg drop mixed which should be ready in no time since the soups and wontons are already made. After waiting 10 minutes, watching that horrid woman behind the counter putter around I asked about the soup. Then she starts putting it together. I walked out. Can’t stand that passive-aggressive b.s. Like I say, Great Wall is so much better to deal with. Just a shame it’s not by the subway entrance. I’d be able to pick up the soup on the way home without being treated so poorly.

I went to Hop Bo palace to get their spicy mala chicken. It’s spicy but not too spicy. My dad got their general tsos chicken and that was good too. The lunch special has a choice of soda or soup. Their egg drop soup and wonton soup is pretty mediocre though.

Something very wrong has happened to Hop Bo Palace; all the earlier reviews, including my own, are generally quite complimentary and yes, I must agree with the« Unilocaler» who talked about the very good Egg Foo Yung; for a neighborhood take-out place it really was quite good. However if you arrange the reviews by date, something very wrong is going on here; the older reviews are generally laudatory while the newer reviews start getting ugly; something has definitely happened to Hop Bo Palace and it isn’t pretty. A real shame; a real shame.

I can’t believe I found a roach on their fried rice… stay away from this dirty restaurant… I have reported this to the health department… I hope they go out of business after inspection.

I thought the food was just average until my wife found a medium sized insect(think it was an ant) in the food and then I wanted to vomit. See the image of the bug in our food under photos. Now I know to avoid this place at all costs!!! If you find something like that in your food who knows what other unsanitary practices this place has.

This place SHOULD be four stars. But… We eat too much Chinese food. And we’ve probably ordered from most of the Chinese places nearby. But for some reason, we missed this place and only recently ordered from them. We’ve ordered from them about three times in the last few weeks and have always agreed: their food is really good compared to the competition. So why such a low score? Because they’re as S L O W as molasses. Holy crap their delivery is so slow. Every. Single. Time. And it’s so slow that we’ve had to call each time to check to make sure they didn’t forget about it. I really like their food, but when you want Chinese food, you want it fast. And this place can’t seem to get it to you fast. I’d say they may even be slower than«regular» restaurants in the area, which is just a shame. If they can find a way to speed up their delivery service without compromising the food, I’d easily give them four stars.

The food taste better than any other Chinese restaurant, and less greasy. The delivery is quick too!

This is my neighborhood Chinese restaurant and I love their scallion pancakes. The food is good and its usually crowded which is a good sign that the food is good. Prices are reasonable.

This place is so much better than any place I have tried in Forest Hills. When I want good Chinese, not some foo foo high end stuff, this is the place to go to. The egg foo young is amazing here.

Your typical, solid, greasy Chinese takeout place. When I lived in Forest Hills, this was my go-to place for some cheap and quick Chinese food!

The prices are good but man did this place turn my stomach with overly fried Kung Pao chicken. I love Chinese food(all Asian food actually) and I eat it all the time but as far as take-out places in Forest Hills go, I recommend Great Wall. It is take-out afterall so it’s not gourmet or anything but it is reliable, cheap and the delivery guy at Great Wall, Ian, is super friendly.

Chinese take out at its finest. I had hesitations coming here because there was another Chinese Tex Mex right next store, and I couldn’t imagine either being very good. But since Asia was so far away, I opted to try this place out. The General Tso’s Chicken($ 6.95) Dinner Special includes pork fried rice and egg roll. The chicken was perfectly cooked, not too chewy and not too greasy. The batter on the chicken was just enough, and the sauce was not too heavy, making for one very delicious General Tso’s Chicken. The pork fried rice, although it is your typical yellow fried rice, was fresh and tasty. I sometimes find that Chinese takeouts give you hard/clumpy rice, or way tooo old rice. Instead of the egg roll, I opted for a Hot & Sour Soup, which is an additional $ 0.75, but is well worth it. The Hot & Sour Soup was your standard take out variety, but one of the better of the bunch. Not too vinegary, not too bland, just right. I can’t say much more about this place except that I was very pleased with my meal and will be checking out this place again for some of their other Dinner Specials, Triple Delight(Shrimp, Chicken, Beef), Spicy Mala Chicken, Ma Po Tofu, Crispy Fish with Black Bean Sauce, some of the rarer dishes that you don’t see on the combo platter menu too often.
