This place is great. I’m up from Virginia traveling with friends on a ski trip and the food is amazing. Denise was our server an even though her voice was about gone she was so funny and her service was excellent. I definitely recommend this place and as for Denise!

The apple cider doughnuts are amazing. This is just like cracker barrel. The food is great. And you get to shop for souvenirs while you wait to be seated. Our servers were so friendly and attentive.

I’d recommend this easy to stop location. Huge breakfasts but limited seating if you are in a rush or have big groups. Variety menu

Road trip! Stopped here for brunch after a long drive from the city. We were headed into lake george. This is just what we needed after the drive. A nice relaxing atmosphere and everything in The Silo looks very antique. A small souvenir shop as you enter and dining area to the right, restroom to the right. They have a IQ test board game to kill some time while waiting for the food. The food came out very fresh and delicious! My chocolate chip pancake was hugeeeee! It’s enough to feed 2 people! It was fluffy and they were definitely not shy on the chocolate chips. Each bite I had was a mouthful of chocolate it can’t be to healthy but at least I know I’m getting my money’s worth! Prices are very cheap especially for the big portions your getting. Service was awesome the waitress was super nice and friendly.

Definitely will go back here! Portions huge … even the kids meal! Food is excellent; service great; and the gift shop is a little tacky; but very cute to spend a few minutes at. The kids were thrilled to see how they made donuts and loved the samples!

The food kinda sucks and is over priced. I think it’s overrated. The owner who is a old guy is rude to his worker’s and to customers.

Pretty average food, sometimes crowded but it is fun to check out the store while you wait.

Yes, Yes, Yes. Glad we stopped by before leaving the area. Great food, old classic, rustic ambiance and I could even explore the crafts/general store area while we waited for our food.

Hands down favorite breakfast restaurant in Lake George and a MUSTTRY! You instantly smell the apple cider donuts before going inside and they’re delicious. The pancakes are HUGE(which I’m not complaining about at all haha) and the store is really cute to browse around. I came just for a little weekend getaway and had to go to Silo for breakfast 2 out of the 3 days. I can’t say enough about this place… Go here!!!

Cute restaurant nestled within a shop with plenty of clothes, toys and other tchotchkes… Cider donuts and fudge. Prepare for a wait at the restaurant but know that it is worth it. The servings are huge, easily breakfast and then leftovers for lunch. Stuffed omelettes with fresh ingredients, fried crispy homefries, homemade toasted bread, pancakes bigger than your head! Always my go-to when visiting family in the area. Highly recommended!

This place is exceptional! Great service, great food, great setting, and best of all HUGEPORTIONS! I would definitely come back to this place. I came here with family as a stop by for lunch on our way to Lake George. We ordered chocolate and banana pancake, blueberry pancake, hashbrowns, sausage with eggs platter, fried chicken with eggs platter, and hamburger with fries platter. When the dishes came out, we were quite surprised by the huge portions. The prices for each dish is definitely worth paying for, but I would advise to share dishes. There is also a gift store located on the second floor and half of the first floor. If you are waiting to be seated, you can walk around to look at some of the stuff they have. There’s also a dessert shop located right when you walk in. The smell of the freshly baked donuts got my mouth watering for some.

Great spot for breakfast! Fun, rustic atmosphere. We did have a little bit of a wait(40 mins on a Saturday morning) but we figured if this many people were here and waiting it must be worth it! We waited by looking through the multiple floors of special little gifts and treats. Apple cider donuts were so yummy! Breakfast menu is great. The usuals, plus some Silo specials. Everything sounded good. Food came out quickly and they were very prompt with the bill! Definitely would return!

Brilliant! Delicious! A vein of gold in a traditionally unremarkable food desert! My boyfriend and I knew we’d struck gold when we pulled into the packed restaurant parking lot and couldn’t find a parking spot. We parked on a side neighborhood street and walked over. We arrived at prime brunch hour on a Sunday, 11a, so we were not surprised to find the wait time at 45 minutes. We put our name down and started shopping. The restaurant doubles in size with a bakery and knick knack shop. At the bakery there is a plethora of fudge and chocolate covered things, along with their famous apple cider donuts. Priced at $ 5 for 6, it’s no surprise every family left with at least a dozen. The place is decorated like a country barn, large wood planks make up the outside, thick wooden beams decorate the inside, and the smell of cedar everywhere you turn. There is ample seating indoors, on the porch(an enclosed add on), and the patio which is outdoors. The store had EVERYTHING you could want in an Adirondack gift shop. And it twisted up and around up stairs and across the second floor. Candles, kitschy clothing, kitchen products, kids books, ghost/haunting books, home décor, blankets, outdoor furniture, and most important: local food products. There was a wall of jams, honey, salsa, cookie mix, and other delectable goodies. My boyfriend and I zapped up the glass jarred local honey, basil scented candles with little wooden wicks, and salsa with a mountain lion on the label. To start, my boyfriend ordered $ 2.50 coffee with free refills and I ordered their $ 2.50 French Vanilla Cappuccino with whipped cream; which to my happy surprise came with a fist sized dollop of whipped cream on top. It tasted like heaven, I honestly giggled while I drank it. It very much tasted more like hot cocoa than it did a cappuccino but you didn’t hear me complain. I kept trying to share it with my boyfriend(who was taking spoonfuls of whipped cream off my drink and adding it to his coffee), it seemed sinful to enjoy this decadent drink all by myself. The food is GENEROUSLY portioned. My stuffed french toast came with 4 large pieces of toast stuffed with cream cheese stuffing and topped with giant dollops of whipped cream and juicy flavorful berries. My boyfriend took a chance and ordered the Adirondack Breakfast and was overjoyed at the size of the thing. A sandwich packed with THREE eggs, gravy, bacon, and jalepenos with a sizeable side of homefries. You knew the homefries were going to be good as they had a nice crisp on one side, just like mama makes it. The BEST spot for food in the area, well worth a 15 minute drive from Lake George and a 20 minute drive from everything else. If you’re in the area, you MUST eat here.

This place is super cute and comfy, about 3 miles up the road from six flags– and they serve breakfast all day(most places around the area only serve breakfast until 11:30). ANDTHEYHAVEAPPLECIDERDONUTS!(I wish they had a bit more Apple taste to them though, the ones in southern NY are a bit better). Lunch was tasty, but it wasn’t anything to rave about. I love the atmosphere and staff here, but they should add more creativity to their menu.

By far the best restaurant we dinned at during our stay in lake geaorge. We went there several times for breakfast in order to try everything on the menu. Portions are heaping! Definitely not for the faint of heart. Stuffed french toast made with fresh berries, eggs Benedict, pancakes all so fresh and made with love. The wait staff is incredibly accomodating. They really made us feel like family over for a visit with grandma in the kitchen cooking up a storm. Can’t wait to go back next year! And be sure to grab some apple cider doughnuts for the trip home. you won’t be disappointed!

Better than Cracker Barrel. Amazing pancakes, don’t get more than 2! Bigger than your plate. Very fresh food, friendly service. Their store is cute, too. Huge breakfast for under $ 10. A+++++

Just one word: Amazing!!! My fiancé and I have been wanting to try this place after driving by countless times and hearing rave reviews. I got your basic eggs, toast, home fries and sausage. May be the best sausage I’ve ever had! My fiancé got blueberry pancakes. We saw pictures on here beforehand but we still couldn’t believe how big they are. We then got a half a dozen cider donuts for the road. Trying cider donuts from every venue we can is a little bit of a hobby and these did not disappoint. I can not wait till I can go back to this restaurant.

When I checked in today, I remembered to look at my old review. I had to reread it to remember why I only gave it 3 stars. I had not been satisfied with one of their daily specials and a couple of presentation issues. I had also said I would probably go back to regular menu items and perhaps try a breakfast choice instead of a sandwich, and the love would return. DING!!! Not only did I successfully predict the future, but Silo has kicked things up a few notches as well. That includes the gift shop, which has even more unique items than ever, and as always, a great selection of Adirondack materials. But the most decadent addition is that cider donut machine and stand on your right as you enter. As I reported in my check-in, I had to inhale the glorious smell of those donuts while waiting for my table. It would not surprise me if the waitresses had side bets on who had the most customers say, «I couldn’t finish my entrée, I ate too many donuts before being seated.» Today instead of a sandwich I had the Silo Omelet, which features traditional items such as ham, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and Swiss cheese. It was large and fresh and full of ingredients and oozing of an excess of gooey melted cheese. The home fries were seasoned and plentiful, the whole wheat toast was thick. The sandwiches are even thicker, both from the bread and the ingredients inside. I also recall I nitpicked about a sandwich coming with an untrimmed scallion last time. This time the scallion was well groomed. On a busy Saturday such as today, I’ve discovered that the wait for a table is much less if you arrive before 11am or after 12:30pm. Then again, there’s those donuts…
