I fell in love with the concept of blaze pizza so I was pretty sure mod pizza would be no different… Boy was I in for a rude awakening. Yes, having a personalized pizza was great but aside from that, I was unimpressed. First off, service was pitiful. The line was decently long because the workers were taking their time rewriting names over and over and roaming around talking amongst eachother. Also, there was some sort of mistake made with a customers’ pizza and the manager(?) decided it was a good time to lecture an employee in front of all the customers. Although there were many available tables, most of them weren’t cleaned. I was beyond hangry so I got a fountain drink in hopes of getting some good lemonade during my wait. Both lemonade options were out so I had to wait for that as well. Okay on to the food: The garlic strips were delicious. We asked for all the dipping sauces and the siracha-ranch was probably the best of them all. The cinnamon dessert strips were tough and burnt. Also, the dipping sauces for the dessert tasted far too chemically. The byo pizza was amazing of course(but you choose all the toppings so if it doesn’t taste good… It’s on you lol) Oh but note, the layout of all the toppings is not very efficient. I.e. They have the green toppings(like spinach, arugula, basil) before the sauces/meats and not all the cheeses are placed together. This wouldn’t have been an issue if I didn’t get more than one type of cheese on my pizza. When I was asking the employee to get various cheeses and greens(which weren’t located all near each other), she rolled her eyes at me. Overall, I love the concept of mod but execution was far too poor.

My husband and I have wanted to try this place for some time. Everything we drove by it, it was packed. We went there for lunch one day and couldn’t wait to go back! I love that you can build your own pizza. I also appreciate how often the preparers switch gloves. I couldn’t tell you what I ordered in my pizza because so many things were on it! At the end I added a pesto topper. The crust is thin, which is a warning to those who like it thicker. My only complaint is that the tables were dirty. It was apparent that before we came in there was a lunch rush. There was soda spilled on tables, crumbs and trash. We cleaned off our table and then another worker started to clean off the other tables. My husband and I cannot wait to go back. It was great food and affordable! I wish they had more seating options though!

Cool concept and pizza is good. All they need are people who know what they are doing. Every time we order online it’s always wrong.

Very good pizza made to order. Like chipotle, you build your own and they bake it for you. Doesn’t take too long and lots of choices of toppings and sauces.

3.5 Friendly service and a clean restaurant. It’s kinda like Moe’s but with pizza. Love that you can add as many toppings as you like without extra charges. It’s a very thin crust, I liked it just fine, not great, but OK. Keep in mind I’m a New Yorker originally so I’m kind of a snob about pizza. The sauce was also OK, though a little on the sweet side for my taste buds, but still good. Toppings, and there are plenty of them, also OK. The pizza alone gets a solid 3, but they garner an extra half point for such friendly service, very helpful staff. It’s the fast food of pizza but it’s pretty good, would occasionally stop in for a pie.

How does this place have 4 stars? Are they actually paying for reviews? Fast food pizza reminds me of what Dominos would do if they opened a pizza restaurant where you could make your own pizza. They yell at you when you walk in the door which does not make the corporate pizza taste any better. They should yell«Go get your Tums!»

For a build your own pizza at a great price you can’t beat MOD pizza! Fresh toppings(as much as you want), super friendly staff and a great environment, I have to give this place 5 stars. I’ve been here numerous times and the food and staff have all been consistently excellent!

Shhhhh, don’t tell the other place in Morrisville, but we like this better. Tastier, fresher, and super friendly. We both prefer the crust and the sauce here as well. I tried the red sauce, but sometime I intend to try the bbq one. It’s so hard to control myself because everything looks and sounds great! I was a little afraid that I over-did it on the toppings, but it all came together and cooked down just right. Love that there are different cheeses, as well as a wonderful variety of other toppings. This time I tried arugula, fresh basil, rosemary, garlic, asiago, parmigiana, mozzarella, pepperoni, spicy sausage, green pepper, red onion, crushed red pepper. All on a nice thin crispy crust that held up well with the tangy red sauce and all those toppings. Meanwhile Husband piled it on even more with everything but the kitchen sink… sundried tomatoes, mushroom, gorgonzola, pepperoncini, and plenty of meat and other cheeses. They also offer salads, shakes, garlic strips and cinnamon strips. We were both comfortably full after our pizzas, so did not add anything else. I like their unsweetened tea with a few squirts of their lemonade in it. Can’t beat the price! Two pizzas with all those toppings plus two fountain drinks was just twenty bucks. Location is the corner of Millbrook and Creedmoor Road where the newer Harris Teeter is.

The«Chipotle» of pizza arrives in Raleigh! Great tasting pizza, totally customizable, and quite fast for being so fresh. Tons of different toppings and if you want more of an item just ask for double. Even with 10 people in line we received our pizza within 20 minutes of walking in the door. They definitely have their system down and I was pretty amazed at how organized the whole operation was. There were close to 20 employees each with a specific job and it runs like clockwork. Kudos to the manager for keeping everything flowing. They also offer gluten free crust for those interested. Reasonably priced, quick, fresh, and tasty!

Fantastic pizza and even better customer service! I filter by places that offer gluten free crust, however the staff at MOD was the most attentive to the allergy from changing their gloves to adding ingredients from fresh bins rather than the potentially contaminated ones. It was so impressive to see this and I truly appreciated it! That is not even to mention the«any toppings, any price» feature, which is a really fun element. We are looking forward to our next visit and experimenting with new pizzas.

Fast and convenient. We chose the mad dog(pepperoni, mild sausage and beef). The ingredients were fresh! This was my first time and we dine in. The staff was very welcoming. I’m looking forward to trying one of their salads. I was pleased… geesh I need one near my job!

Very cool concept that is taking a page out of the custom pizza chipotle style build your own model. They have a number of toppings and crusts/sizes that include gluten free. The smaller size is definitely just that and too small for something to fill up on in my opinion. The pizzas are clay fired and come out quick and I think this place is going to be awfully successful. Parking is no problem since its in a strip mall and just look for the harris teeter when you’re parking because if you don’t make the right turn you have to go all the way around the block. Ill be back for sure.

Fresh, fast and fun! Super neat concept of creating your own pizza where the price your pay is based on the size of the pie and not the number of toppings/sauces you chose. Kind of like Subway… but WAY better — because, well it’s PIZZA! There is also a list pizzas that you can choose from where toppings/sauces are already pre-selected with the option of adding to them. Again, at no extra cost. Choose your size pie, pick your sauce/toppings and it’s baked fresh for you. They also have local beers and dessert options! Thin crust is my favorite type of pizza, which is what they serve here so I’m a weekly customer :) If you like pizza, you will LOVEMOD.

Remember that Seinfeld episode where Kramer is determined to start a pizza place where you can make your own pie? Well that is basically what MOD Pizza entails. Though you don’t get to actually put your hands in the dough or spoon the sauce, you can choose from several sauces and a plethora of toppings and bring your individual size pizza creation to life! And you can pretty much put any amount of toppings and only pay $ 7.77. MOD Pizza is brand new in Raleigh and I was lucky enough to attend the grand opening and get my pizza for free! They also donated pizza sales to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina that day. It’s always nice to support a business that is supporting the local community. Essentially, you walk into MOD, and start walking down a bar where employees will put together the pizza in front of you with your chosen toppings. It reminds me of Chipotle. They also have a «simple» menu with suggested toppings with fun names Mad Dog and Lucy Sunshine. So if you’re bad at making decisions, maybe try out this one. MOD also has gluten free crust available for extra $(though it’s a shared oven), and vegan cheese. And after trying MOD a few times, I have removed the crown for«Best Gluten Free Crust in Raleigh» from Moonlight Pizza to MOD. It’s drool-worthy. MOD is located on the corner of Millbrook/Creedmoor Road in the same plaza as Harris Teeter. You can also order online and have it ready when you get there.

Great build your own pizza concept. Lots of toppings to choose from, all included for one price. The BBQ sauce we chose for our pizza was addictive! Great reheated as leftovers as well. FYI, wine and NC beers are available by the glass or pitcher. Cheers!

Ok, so I love pizza … & much like sushi, I could probably eat pizza every day. So happy MOD is near my house & easy to get to on my way home from work. I ordered online & that was super easy. I arrived a few minutes early, so I got to check out the restaurant. It’s rather small, but very nicely decorated & has a happy ambiance. Plenty of employees were working. I love their boxes. They come in two pieces. I liken it to plates! One for me & one possibly for a fellow diner. I actually ate my pizza on the way home, I was that excited & hungry. I got the Mad Dog & added jalapeños. I like that they don’t charge extra for toppings. The mid size $ 7.77 was just enough for me. I loooove thin crust & the crust & toppings were delicious. Contemplating becoming a weekly customer!

Let me tell you something about Joe… Joe knows lunch. He’s the guy in the office we defer to when the clock strikes lunch. He has an uncanny knack for choosing the right place on the right day, and we follow his lead nearly every day. Which is why I am always hesitant to suggest something new. Still, when the something new is pizza, and we had already been scoping out the construction of MOD Pizza, I felt somewhat safe. And I can safely say, I had the right suggestion for once. I suppose it could be called«fast food pizza,» but it seems a bit of an insult, considering the quality. As you walk in, you go through an «assembly line,» with friendly people who guide you through creating your own pizza masterpiece, based on the endless ingredients they have to choose from. Mine was red sauce, spicy sausage(not overly, but good flavor), mushrooms, black olives, roasted red peppers, pepperoncini, basil, garlic, oregano, 2 kinds of cheese… yeah. You can get carried away. You pay, get your drink and wait while your pizza bakes… only about 10 minutes on a busy Friday lunch hour did not seem extreme. Loved the crust(nice, thin and crispy), and the toppings were all tasty and fresh. Yep, it’s good… my favorite pizza of all time? Well, I’m a bit of a pizza snob, so when I tell you it’s in the top 20, that’s saying something. The staff is awesome… very friendly and fast. I asked one of the young men helping me with toppings how he was doing… he smiled and said, «I get to make pizza all day… I’m awesome!» We finish eating, and Joe says, «We need to add this to the rotation.» So, yes, MOD Pizza is Joe approved(whew). Lunch or a quick dinner, I say MOD.

Ok so I had an unfair advantage. I had heard of and eaten MOD pizza before. But it was in a land far, far away… Seattle near UoW. Never in a million years did I guess when I watched the New Harriss Teeter take shape, that the MOD sign on the side of one of the smaller storefronts was gonna make my day in a major way. I am a curious sort. I checked out the new Harris Teeter and pretty much, it is business as usual. A bigger looking boring version of same store… …But forget about THAT… got to the little building that you see from the stoplight on Creedmoor Road. You must, must must try MOD pizza. Cue up the Journey song… «Any way you want it, Any way you need it…» Pick up a menu if you are a newbie… or smile at the staff who are already greeting you Moes style. And enjoy choosing as much as you want, whatever you want for your very own personal pizza. We aren’t talking pizza hut mega crust. We’re talking the crispy thin crust. The kind that won’t make you feel like you at a loaf a bread at one sitting. Pick your items… call ‘em out to the pizza artist and watch and wait as they throw them into a brick oven for the finale. They have fresh drinks and a great vibe. And I particularly was glad they had a diverse staff working. you will never be bored with the combos and can afford to come back over and over. Win. Win.
