Penn Station subs has the best meats and bread any sub shop! The sausage is thick-cut and flavorful without being too spicy. All the meats tasted fresh and flavorful. The bread is soft and relatively thin allowing the contents of the sub to be more noticeable. The vegetables taste fresh and I like the real lemonade option. The staff is friendly, competent and efficient. The seating area has been clean when I visited 3x in the last 2 weeks. There are booths and tables which is convent for strollers or wheelchairs!

My favorite place to get a steak and cheese.period. Fries are great, lemonade is sour enough to make you pucker. Italian is another great choice.

I’m a sucker for hot subs so I should feel lucky Penn Station is on the other side of town or I would be ordering from here daily. Their Italian hot sub is the best sub I’ve ever had. They somehow get the bread to veggie to meat to spice ratio perfect every time for every tasty bite. I’ve also tried their chicken parm sub which is also amazing! I’m always wondering how they use the same ingredients as other sub places to make a much more superior sandwich. They never skimp on ingredients and the veggies and meat are always fresh. I also like that their subs come in four sizes: 6″, 8″, 10″ or 12″ depending on your hunger level. This place is definitely worth a try if you’re tired of your other sub chains!

I love this place! Best Philly Cheesesteak around! Love the employees here, too! They remember our order and always greet us and make sure you tell us to have a great night. Never had a bad experience here, we are regulars!

I am from philly. THESE are good! I got the Italian cold. Ofcourse, the roll wasn’t philly… but it was good. Also… they don’t offer whiz. Hence reason why I didn’t get a cheese steak.

Ate here today for lunch with my girlfriend. The place was pretty busy which of course is always a good sign. We both got the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks the way we wanted and shared some fries. Everything was awesome. It tasted great, was super affordable, was fast and we got a medium fry and that was plenty for both of us. We’ll definitely hit this place up again when we’re in the mood for a philly.

The ultimate best Philly cheesesteak of all time! I’ve invited people from Philly to try their cheesesteaks and to their surprise, they agree with me. It’s that phenomenal! I order it with mushrooms, mayo and banana peppers. Not sure why they would ask to put pizza sauce on it but whatever. Not very keen on their other subs but i haven’t tried them all. I only order the cheesesteak. Their fresh cut fries are fantastic andthe cookies are great too. Finish it all with freshly brewed iced tea. Every employee is super friendly too! Excellent excellent excellent!

Omigosh this place is so good, we went there two days in a row! My husband got the Italian sub grilled both times and I got the artichoke with mushrooms both times. Yummy! It’s nearly impossible to get him to go anywhere, and HE wanted to go back. I think we found our new favorite place to eat! Good thing they don’t deliver, because we would be in trouble! And holy fries! The fries are perfect and the portions are HUGE!

All the guys behind the counter were super friendly, open to creativity, too. Chicken teriyaki was decent. The bacon on the club sandwich was thick cut, but extremely crispy. Overall, still a fantastic sandwich. The bread was my favorite part. Tables did sit dirty for a while, thankfully no one was forced to take one.

The Italian sub was excellent, as usual, and the tomatoes were included this time around. This sub tastes awesome grilled. It’s the best way to get it, and it’s the best Italian sub in town. My husband got the chicken parmesan sub and it’s his favorite as well.

I’m going to start off with my complaint: how the hell is this the closest Penn Station to my house?! Other than that, amazing. Great service, order was spot on, and the food is always freaking amazing. I almost always eat too much here and this has a really nice inside as well. Can you guys start delivering or branching out more?! The other location that used to be close to my house has been closed for a time.

Really like the sandwiches and fries here. The only miss is the cookies which taste a little underdone.

Huge selection, friendly staff and yummy food. I ordered a philly with extra cheese and man did they deliver. Most places would just sprinkle but not here. My husband got the same and he NEVER gets steak but he said he really liked it,

Wife and I went here when they first opened, and have been to a few other locations here and there. She loves steak/cheese sandwiches, fries and fresh squeezed lemonade. Penn Station generally fits the bill. The sandwiches are good, above avg actually. Meat is well cooked, a decent amount of cheese(no place has ever impressed me with their generosity of cheese) and the package is very cohesive. The fries are again above avg, hand cut and cooked well. I love fries with the skins still on. And lemonade is wife approved. Not very sweet, a lot of sour tang and you see it freshly made. I don’t care much for chains overall, but Penn Station is working hard to convince me otherwise.

I haven’t ever had an authentic cheesesteak from Philly, but if they’re half as good as the ones at Penn Station I need to plan a trip up that way right now. I’ve tried most of the sandwiches on the menu and can’t say that I’ve had a bad one. The standouts for me are the cheesesteak and the chicken teriyaki. The goodness doesn’t stop with the sandwiches either. The hand cut fries and cookies are great as well. If they’re like other locations, on Tuesdays they give a free cookie sample with lunch orders. Seriously. Free cookie. One thing I like about them is that they are generally pretty consistent with the sandwiches even among different stores. A lot of other places seem to vary depending on the location and who is working. If you’re looking for a good hot sandwich, some great fries, and a guilty pleasure for dessert they’ve got you covered. On a side note, I was impressed by the remodel this location gave the space. Definitely a lot more inviting than before.

Whenever I head back to the Mid-Atlantic I always make a point to stop at either Pat’s or Geno’s in Philadelphia for their Cheesesteaks. I often get a craving for a Philly Cheesesteak and it’s a bit hard to find a place that does them decently in North Carolina. Today I stopped in at Penn Station as I was in the area after going shopping. I normally don’t like chain restaurants, but this one hit the spot pretty well. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me and took my order pleasantly. Ambiance: The ambiance of the restaurant is full of rich earth tones and soft lights — no harsh fluorescents in the dining area. The seating area is small enough to be intimate and cozy, but large enough to have space to move. They had Gen X music playing in the background ranging from ‘80s Power Ballads to early ‘90s Alternative — a nice change from the norm. The volume was high enough where you could listen to it, but low enough that it didn’t wash out conversations. Service: I came here with another person to split a foot long and also ordered fries. After paying and waiting to be called up when the food was finished I noticed that one of the gentlemen brought it to us, already split on two trays. I found this to be a very nice gesture, especially since I did not mention that I had the intention of sharing. Thumbs up for great service! Cuisine: The Philly Cheesesteak was pretty good, but I was left wondering for a while what was missing. After I left, I realized that the marinara sauce was forgotten. I doubled-checked the menu, and it was supposed to be there — boo! minus one star. :-( The fries were really good, with a crispy yet soft consistency, and I really enjoyed that they offered Malt Vinegar. I really love Malt Vinegar with my fries; must be my British half. Food for Thought: *If you are a Philadelphian, you are going to be disappointed with this place as you will be comparing it to great places like Pat’s or Geno’s. *If you are from PA, NJ, or NY you will also find it great for a chain but not like back home. It still sates that Philly Cheesesteak craving regardless. *For everyone else who does not have prior experiences this place is great. When it comes to foods that are so specifically tied to a region, it is difficult to disengage from the memory of the original. Regardless of where you come from, in North Carolina this place fills the need for Philly Cheesesteak.
