I ALWAYS check the dates when buying from here, and the milk selection is bleh. Produce is cleaner than SBros in addition to the deli.

Conveniently located, but I feel like Albertson’s is pretty consistently overpriced. And not just the one WAAAAY up here in Ramona, all of them. You really do pay for convenience it seems. The produce goes soft and mushy pretty quick and I never have a whole lot of luck with their meat department. It seems that every time I get something from the butcher’s block, it goes off SUPER quick. Raw chicken: better cook it that night or it starts to stink. Cooked seafood: eat it on the way to the cash register just to be safe. Raw seafood: just don’t even bother. The service deli is pretty awesome, the Starbucks inside is always fast, and the shelves are usually always stocked, but I find that the groceries I buy at TARGET even last longer, and run about half the price.

Good store, I love the beer selection, it’s what keeps bringing me back. Also you are in for a treat if you check out in Gina’s line, really sweet lady

I usually go to «the other grocery store» but I was having Sunday dinner at my house this week and decided on hot chicken tenders. The«other place» only had 8 and I needed 10. They looked terrible and dried out. I asked when they would be making some fresh ones and was told that«they are fresh». I left and came here instead. They looked pretty good, so I asked for 10. The lady behind the counter OFFERED to fix me some fresh hot ones if I was still shopping and could wait 8 minutes. I will definitely be buying all of my hot foods here from now on. * * *update 2/15/2016* * * Went in on a Monday and got a pleasant surprise at the deli. You get 8 pieces of chicken(2 each of breast, legs, wings and thighs) 4 dinner rolls, a large potato salad and a large Cole slaw for $ 8.99! Food was tastier than kfc, much cheaper, better prepared and… wait for it… they have honey mustard sauce to dip my chicken in! It filled up 4 adults! Ladies working behind the counter are wonderful. Nice, quick and helpful. THISISMYGO-TOPLACEFORTAKE-OUTCHICKEN!

The staff is helpful and friendly. The store is clean and the prices are reasonable. The only other supermarket in Ramona is Stater Bros. that store is very hectic and unorganized so I basically only have Albertsons. Unfortunately they often sell expired foods. The foods that aren’t expired must not be kept at proper temperature. Twice I got packaged cheese with greenish blue mold. I’ve gotten eggs with a proper date but when I open them they are not fresh. I have repeatedly had to report expired bread, yogurt, milk, cheese, meat to the staff. The employees are great. They make exchanges without question. If there’s a problem on the shelf they remove it ASAP. But it shouldn’t have to come to that. The manager is very approachable. Five stars for the employees but no stars for fresh food. Therefore 3 stars. Just check the dates! Make sure cold items feel cold. If the package has a window look through it. I go to farm stands for my eggs, fruit, and veggies because Stater Bros is a hassle and I don’t trust Albertsons for freshness.

Prices are good but my time is more valuable. …they need to have more employees available to open more registers when the lines get long… the lines get so long they block the main isle and you can’t get past people… I agree with the other review about self checkouts being gone it sucks

Nope, not 5 stars. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Clean store. Reasonably good selection(for Ramona). However(isn’t there always a however?), Albertsons’ pricing is predatory. The regular prices are insanely high; typically more than 20% over another store. If you go for the sale items, stick to the cherry picking and forget everything else. The inflated«regular» prices will negate any savings from the sale-priced items. Also, they have pretty good beef but again, you have to get the sale items(and not that bullshit BOGO free). I’ve had lots of good beef at pretty good prices when I stick to the sales. Which brings me to the final point: Albertsons predatory pricing. BOGO(buy one, get one free) sounds like a good deal at first but then when you get to the store and the item is priced at $ 11.99 a pound as opposed to every other store’s $ 6.99 a pound then the deal is crap. If ever you see an ad that does not list the price for the item that is supposedly«on sale», run, don’t walk, run away. So, watch your wallet and you’ll love the store :-)

I’m not sure what you buy, but for me, prices are lower at Albertson’s. I personally think there is much less wait, even with the new arrangement of no self check out and up to 4 express open at once, than at Stater Bros. It’s an all around win. I once was looking for an item that no one in town had and Albertson’s ordered and the assistant manager called me when it showed up! THAT, is customer service. I’ve never encountered any associate that wasn’t super friendly and helpful. I love this store and shop no where else!

This place has gone down hill since the renovations they took out 4 self checkouts and only have one express lane open. The regular lines are faster than express line. Will probably start giving stater bro more business no long waits there.

Props to the other reviewers who warned about Albertson’s bad habits. It’s unbelievable that within a day of purchasing strawberries and an avocado they went bad. I’ve got the receipt to prove it too. The day I bought the strawberries they were fine cut some of them up for a meal prep into a yogurt parfait. Next time the rest of the strawberries were already starting to rot and an avocado has gone bad. Fresh produces? What a joke. They can’t even properly mark their aisles. Was looking for juice and they labeled a frozen aisle for juice. It was near the end of the store so they’ve got two aisles for juice although apparently one is a decoy. Prices are ridiculous here as well no wonder their chain is dying off. Better off shopping at Stater Bros.

I have never been a fan of Albertsons, but when they were doing that Rachel Ray dish promotion I decided to give it a shot since I can spend 200 bucks a week easy they way my family eats. My first impression was that it was small, way to small to have a starbucks inside for sure. The aisles are very tiny which make shopping very irritating when they have those giant displays in the way. You must always make sure you check the dates on everything just like any other grocery store but for the most part they do pretty good on that. one thing that bothers me is that the Roma tomatoes are always old and soggy. After a month or so I have gotten use to shopping here, learning the ins and outs of everything and i am starting to think that the elevation has something to do with the way some of the melons look. On another note shopping here may be a bit more expensive but compared to Stater Brothers the produce and meat keeps longer and that is the main reason I still shop at Albertsons.

This seems to be the best grocery store in Ramona. Clean, well-stocked and the staff is really friendly. I would give them 5 stars if I could say they were always the cheapest but some stuff is less expensive elsewhere.

Great people, food and prices. Don’t go on Sunday evening or Monday, they get really limited on their stock.

You have got to wonder how this super market stays in business in this town. They have great specials but other than that their prices are so much higher than Stater Brothers its unbelievable.
