The food was pretty good, my boyfriend said he really enjoyed his meal. We mainly went here because we live in town and have never been, as well as we saw that AWESOME fireplace in the center… and we were fortunate to go on a night were we could be close to it, however it was off :(it was kind of disappointing, but that only gives me a reason to come back and try a new dish!

People seem to really love this place, but aside from the giant(and seriously awesome) roaring fire pit in the middle of the stone floored, wooden walled joint, I am not sure what all the fuss is about. The service was nice, and the food showed up in good time. Though it al just tasted fine. If you’re in the mood for warming up, this is a good choice, but the bland food and homognized menu choices makes me thing this is just another spot people in Ramona feel they have to like because qulity sit-down resturants are tough to come by here wihtout trekking to Poway or Escondido.

Enchilada sauce /cheese enchiladas and chili rellenos are excellent served with great rice and beans. Pricing very good and a wonderful rustic environment. A must stop for me and my family any time driving thru Ramona. Love this family run business. Don’t miss their big roaring fire on winter nights!

Was not impressed at all with their salsa and enchilada sauce. We had chile relleno and enchiladas, but wish we had tried a different place. Service was great so 2 stars for that.

Don’t get the shrimp burrito but my #1 was amazing. I rate mexican restaurants on the Chile relleno and it was damb good. They where super busy and it did not take a long time to get our food. Not the best décor and atmosphere but the food was fresh and hot and good. The shrimp burrito was super small but is was only $ 5 not much to it. But my kids had fish tacos and rolled tacos and ate them all.

We really enjoy the family atmosphere. Great place for any age and group. Winter time has you enjoying the wood burning fire place in the middle of the restaurant. This is truly down home mexican food. Grandma, daughters, grandchildren all work together so that you have a memorable casual dining experience. The shredded beef tacos, super mini tostadas, chips and salsa are yummy!

Not the best Mexican in Ramona. But easily the most expensive that I’ve had. Was told by a couple different people that it was great. I was excited to try it out. As we walked in a satisfied couple was coming out. They told us what they got: 49: asada burrito and fish taco. $ 12 35: enchilada taco and two rolled tacos. $ 11 I was rather excited. Hoped to find a new fave here in town. I was sorely disappointed. It felt more American than Mexican. Chips and salsa are essentially my fave food. Theirs weren’t bad. Just ok. Chips were really salty. Salsa was very stewed tomato-like. Not bad. Just ok. The rice was dry. The beans were good. The carne asada burrito was TINY!!! It was a small tortilla with fairly dry tiny cubes of asada. And nothing else. I was dumbfounded. The fish taco was good but tasted like it was made with… um…miracle whip. Yeesh. My wife’s food wasnt bad. None of it was bad. But it was expensive for ok food. We had a 20% off coupon. Still, with no drinks, two meals and a tip it was $ 24. And I had no leftovers!!! Which was probably fine cuz the food wasn’t great. Had I to do it all over again I would go a couple blocks over and get the Aidas burrito at La Cocina. Much bigger, much tastier and cheaper too!!!

Great ladies/servers. The service is not fast, so just sit back and enjoy the big fireplace. The food was similar to other mexican resturants in Ramona.

I want to love this place. However I have certain key complaints. Number one, on at least two occasions my meal has cost $ 1.00 more than described on the menu. Each time, I was in a hurry and waiting awhile before getting my check and the woman that took my order wasn’t available. Complaint two: Sodas are $ 2.80. To me that’s a staggering price. And yet I keep accidentally ordering them, because everywhere else you go they’re a little more reasonable. $ 1.49 to $ 1.99 is a range you probably wouldn’t balk at. So with those two things happening I keep having checks in the $ 15.00 range for a couple enchiladas. Which i would pay for some places however complaint #3 they really skimp on the beans and rice. It’s good tasting, but they serve a very thin layer of each and it’s gone before I know it. In fact, this is the only Mexican place I ever leave hungry. Now you might think I’ve nothing positive to say. I love the ladies that work here, they’re always nice and in a good mood. I love the ambiance of this big, weird old space. And it’s within walking distance of where I work. In the end, I wish I could get out of there less than $ 16 — $ 17 for a single small meal… Is that too much to ask?

Food is good, low key low lit comfortable place. Love the fire pit, when it’s lit on cold days. Family friendly and staff is friendly as well. They support their community as well!

I stopped by this restaurant today to satisfy my Mexican food craving. My first impression: too dark in here. This restaurant is huge and dark. Don’t worry, I walked all the way to the back then a worker acknowledged my presence. I ordered fish taco plate. Good food but it’s a little bit on expensive side for the small plate.

This is a family owned Mexican restaurant. It’s not fancy, but it is a really nice venue. Love the sauces. We went on a recommendation, now we are recommending it to our friends.

It doesn’t get more authentic than this place! This place is real authentic Mexican food, from only señoras preparing you’re food, to the décor and the big fire place they have is killer. I really enjoyed the huevos rancheros and the chile rellenos. Great family restaurant just like if i was back in Zacatecas!

I’ve been going here for over 26 years! I love this restaurant so much! I suggest coming here when it is cold and or rainy as they have an amazing fireplace in the center of the restaurant and it really makes this a unique but amazing place to dine. The service is always great and fast and the food is always amazing! They have the best huevos rancheros in all of San Diego! I grew up eating the enchiladas and their sauces are so flavorful. I love their chips, their salsa, I love their whole menu! This is a must stop if you are in Ramona!
