For years, I’ve been telling my mom to get a new cell phone. Seriously, hers is a butt old Nokia with the old dot screens and no colors. When the phone rings, these red and green lights flash through the semi-clear case. There is only 1 chime. Yeah, old. After a day of shopping at Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens, we stopped by her friend’s cellular store on the way home. The place looks unimpressive but they actually have a wide variety of cell phones. My mom’s carrier is T-Mobile and she doesn’t need anything super flashy so she ended up with the new Motorola w370. We got a pretty good deal on it and she was able to keep her exact same plan without penalty. Thanks to the Korean discount, they threw in a free case, car charger, and trinket thingy that is basically a small mirror. Yeah it’s pretty useless but who cares. They just moved into this area so are trying hard to get business. They were very nice and didn’t try to oversell to us. The husband and wife owners were shocked 1) that my mom was 60 and; 2) that I was over 21. I kinda think it was a ploy to butter us up but I don’t really mind. The man asked me what I did to keep my skin looking so young and I felt weird telling him I drink a lot of water and moisturize. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that not smoking like a chimney would probably do wonders as well.
