Tasty Korean food, but a bit pricey for such a hole-in-the-wall place. I came for dinner on a Thursday after 6 and a little concerned being the only one there. No décor, no AC, paper menu placemats… definitely very casual. Plenty of options on the menu, entrees $ 15+, with the best value seeming to be the combo plates because you get tofu soup for like a dollar or two more. I got the bulgogi and beef/seafood soup. Loved the soup: boiling hot, super flavorful, and very filling with all the tofu and meats. Bulgogi was okay, a little sweet for my liking and wish the meat had some char to it. I also tried the spicy chicken and pork bibimbap, which I liked better. Sticky rice was good. One entrée was plenty for me to share. Not too many banchan dishes, maybe half a dozen, but loved the potato one! Decent service. Would come back just for the soup!

This place is in the ranch 99 plaza. It’s the only Korean restaurant there. The soon doo boo was steamy hot, flavorful, filling and affordable. They had ok panchan(side dishes). I’m still looking for a Korean joint with great panchan. I came here because the other Korean restaurant was closed on Sunday. It didn’t take long for the food to come out. Most of the people were Chinese though and not Korean, as how another reviewer stated. ;)

This is my favorite place to eat korean food. Everytime ive vome they are nice there. The food is delicious. They have the best prices during their lunch special. I highly recommend their sausage tofu soup with either beef bulgolgi or chicken.

I think they’re kinda pricey here. I ordered the shrimp and scallop combo and it was $ 16.99. Came out on a sizzling plate with about 6 shrimps and ONE scallop on top of a bed of bean sprouts. Soup was average. Guy server/host was courteous but unfortunately once our food came out, he never came back to check on us. Bill came out to $ 40 for 2 combos without tip.

If you value authentic, simple Korean dishes at an affordable price — this is your place. The food is well prepared and consistent. My wife is Korean and a great cook and she enjoys when we go here for dinner especially for the fish and/or spicy pork. The atmosphere is low key and staff is family oriented. You won’t find fusion cooking here. Just a plain, good tasting, affordable meal in a pleasant family atmosphere.

Food was top notch, excellent, fast service. My wife who is vegan ordered the Wellbeing bibimbab and I ordered the Seafood Tofu Soup, my 4 year old son ordered baby tofu soup. We all finished everything on the table, including my 4 yr old who’s usually a very finicky eater. This place is the bomb.

I can attest to nothing else but the #12: Dol Sot Bibimbap combo. Comes out sizzlin! A little sea same oil to give it a nice crunchy rice base. The portions are good. They do give you a lot of bulgogi on the #12. Pretty satisfied with my standard. Been coming here for over 12 years(I think it’s changed ownership a couple times). The current owner has been here for a few years. At least I think she’s the owner. She’s a little gruff and gritty. She is always displeased with any requests. Once I asked if we could watch the AFC playoffs and she just ignored me and walked away. I asked the other server and told him she might not have heard me. He laughed and said, «no she heard you.» She has actually warmed up to me a little. We’ve been coming like every other week and she has been pretty accommodating on my little requests on my orders.

Wouldn’t come back here ever again… Service was horrible and food was just mediocre. Food: Rice cake soondubu — I got medium spicy but it wasn’t actually that spicy and it lacked overall flavor. Rather go to BCD or some other spot. Spicy chicken — this dish comes with mushrooms but the chicken wasn’t even spicy… It was sweet. On the bright side, the meat quality wasn’t bad. Banchan — mediocre. Kimchi wasn’t even spicy. :/ Service: The server we had was a real pain… We asked for hot sauce, she gave us siracha and said they didn’t have any other hot sauce but we saw her give gochujang and other sauces to another customer. When we asked if we could make the chicken spicier, she told us the procedure of how they make the chicken and then said they couldn’t do it. She didn’t ask us what drinks we wanted and just gave us water right off the bat. Overall, she was rude.

This place is great is you really want to satisfy your tofu soup craving, but don’t want to travel outside the Inland Empire. The soup is good, and I was pleasantly surprised by their prices! Their combos are much more affordable than places in Orange County or in the 626 area, which was awesome! My only qualms about this place is that their side dishes are meh, they didn’t have many of my favorites which is always disappointing. The serve is also a little bit slow, which can be frustrating. This isn’t a bad review by any means however, I enjoyed my meal, but overall I’d rate this restaurant as average. If you’re in the area and want tofu soup, this place will do the trick!

Ugh. I definitely don’t plan on coming back to this restaurant. My friend and I came here cause we started craving something hot and broth-y while shopping at Victoria Gardens. We found this place on Unilocal & decided to eat here despite the bad reviews because we both haven’t had soondooboo(tofu soup) in awhile and how badly can you really mess up tofu soup you know? I got the mushroom tofu soup, and it was alright — not the best tofu soup I’ve had, just mediocre. However, the side dishes were gross. Most of them lacked flavor, if any, and the ones that did have flavor were just overpowering and disgusting. The kimchi had this old plastic-y taste to it, and I had to spit it out after one bite. It honestly tasted like it had just come out of the trash or some smelly nasty container. Service. TERRIBLE. And the main reason as to why I’m giving this place only 1 star despite their okay tofu soup. The waitress never checked up on us except when she took our order, but after that she just disappeared off and always avoided our table. I couldn’t even flag her down for a water refill because she would hide in the kitchen. Also, my water wasn’t even full to begin with… she only gave me a half full cup… The people that work here definitely need to work on their customer service and attentiveness. Also, the building is old, worn-out, and dirty, so it was quite uncomfortable eating there.

3.5 Stars This tofu house is located on the southeast corner of Archibald and Baseline. It’s was our friend’s birthday and after he got off work he said he felt like Korean food. We decided to check out Myung Dong Tofu since it was close by.(We didn’t feel like AYCE.) The exterior of the building appears older and the interior is nothing fancy. There were actually stacks of supplies on the chair next to our booth. We were served by a young man and the places seems to be family-owned. Since my husband is on a strict diet(he had surgery recently.) he ordered B4 Wellbeing Bibimbap(vegetarian) and our friend and I each ordered the Hot Stone Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap combo which came with tofu soup. My husband ate my soup. The hot stone bibimbap and the soups come out boiling/sizzling so be careful. For 3 people, our bill came out to $ 39.93 plus tip. I wasn’t even that hungry when we arrived but managed to eat almost all of my dish. I like how the rice crisps up at the bottom of the bowl! The only negative I can say is that it would be nice if they spruced up the interior a bit and kept it more tidy. It’s not the best Korean food I’ve had but it was good and the service was decent. The speed pf service is good; We have tried bibimbap and the tofu stew, those were delicious. However, the service is not as good as the food.

I’ve never had the soondobu here actually lol, so this review is for some of their other dishes. I always come here when I’m craving some galbi tang either on a cold day or a sick day. Comes loaded with glass noodles, 4 – 5 hunks of short rib, and plenty of soup. Very flavorful and not unbearably undrinkably hot so I can enjoy it as soon as it’s served. husband always gets their bibimbap and is always satisfied. Normally he orders the hot stone, but we decided to switch it up and get the regular bibimbap and the cold salad and mushrooms/veggies/beef with the hot rice was surprisingly refreshing. Also can never go wrong with the galbi BBQ hot plate.

I looked up the menu before deciding to come here because I was really craving seafood pancake. Walked in and ordered and was informed that they only have seafood pancake on Saturday, Sunday, Tues, and Weds??? What the hell is this BS? FOr one, that should be stated on the menu and 2… it’s not like it requires expensive or seasonal ingredients. I almost decided to get up and go to another place, but it was getting late and I didn’t want to drive around. Spicy Beef Soup– Don’t expect any meat in here. I could barely taste any beef flavor and the only evidence of beef were the 3 tiny slivers of flank meat. Beef Bulgolgi– Small portion The Rice was the worst offense. The tofu comes in a stone pot, but not the rice! The crispy part is what makes the rice!!! Spicy Pork Hot Stone pot– I felt ripped off for the price. Handful of meat and no veggies on top of the rice. Service was meh. They needed another server. It was difficult to even flag someone down for water and a refill of banchan. The table next to us seemed annoyed because they had to ask for everything and missing dishes. I gave them an extra star because I think this is a mom and pop shop, which means they’re limited on resources.

On a cold(So Cal) winter’s evening, there is nearly nothing else that hits the spot more than soup or stew. Came here cause I was far from home, it was raining, and I was starving. Got me the Dumping Tofu Soup with Spicy Pork. There are a couple things about this place. The service isn’t the best, they don’t really come check on you, nor do they tell you that you can opt for«black rice». I found out after my white rice came through, and I saw the Korean peeps next to me got the option. So note ladies and gents, black rice is so much better! Got tea upon sitting down, but there were no refills, just a cup of water once you run out. . Ok so my friend ordered the Kimchee Pork BQQ, and if I were to come back again, I would get this. The flavor is really good — especially if you like pig and kimchee, but there isn’t a lot of pork in it… That’s unfortunate. It’s also a little oily, made me wish I had some paper towels for some pat downs. But regardless, yes get that! I got the dumpling tofu soup, usually my go to for soon du bul, but the dumplings weren’t good. Tasted a little stale and frozen. You get 3 pieces in your pot, which is pretty standard. But don’t expect fresh dumplings, wouldn’t be surprised if they were from the HK mart frozen section… Then the spicy pork was pretty good, but again, just a little too oily. As for the staple banchan — fishcake, kimchee, cucumber kimchee, bean sprouts, seaweed(wakame), and daikon is what you’re gonna get. Together with tax and tip, $ 20/person. Not really that good, but lucky them for hitting the spot for the appropriately fitting rainy weather.

In the IE neighborhood this weekend visiting with friends. Thought we would try this restaurant in the strip mall of 99 Ranch Market. Food was only just«so so». The Bibimbap was okay, just a few strips of burnt beef and veggies. The short rib soup was also just okay, too many big pieces of green onion, ribs had too much fat on them. The side dishes were Good. Waitress lack personality, service and follow up. We had to ask for water refill a couple of times. Nothing like K-town for K food.

Ive been a big fan of the myoung dong in Diamond Bar. I usually always make the drive out whenever I crave some warm tofu soup. To my pleasant surprise, the chain has a store in Rancho so I can satisfy my cravings even when im a bit lazy to drive to Diamond Bar!!! PARKING: parking in this strip mall is slowly becoming a problem with the popular 99ranch, couples of asian restaurants and the little Cesar. Just be a little patient and walk a little bit but ive always managed to find parking! SERVICE: quite inconsistent, the last time I went, we were neglected: never got our hot tea and our water was never refilled. Last night, eventhough they were super busy and under staffed, the servers were awesome and continously apologize for the wait. Water and side dishes never ran low! Thanks young waitress with glasses you were great! FOOD: –6 side dishes that never disappointed me, gosh I looooove korean side dishes. You can check out my picture to see what they usually offer. –tofu soup $ 8.99: I like the beef, beef and seafood, or seafood in spicy! I think the spicy level is a bit tame, they definitely tone it down here… –beef bulgugi bibimbap: zee bf got this and I thought it was not quite authentic, instead of the traditional veggies, they put salad lettuce in the hot pot? What what… –the amount of meat in the soup has slowly been decreasing, sad. They used to be loaded with goodies. –no longer has my favorite oyster tofu soup :( OVERALL: I visit this spot occasionally. It is so close to home and the quality is fair enough. If you are looking for some 5 star authentic Korean experience, I’d recommend you driving out to Diamond Bar or K-town ;)
