First time her and my husband and I loved everything we ordered! We had the stuffed mushrooms, mac&cheese and fish tacos. We didn’t have anything negative to say about any of them! We will definitely be back to try some of the entrees. Nice job west end grille :)

Wow… What else can I say? I ordered the short ribs with mixed veggies. The meat was so tender than I didn’t even need the knife at all. The veggies were crispy, but not in that annoying undercooked way. They were perfect. My best friend moved here from Germany almost a year ago. He said the West End Salad is honestly the best chicken salad he’s ever had in the US. And the table bread reminded him of the brütchen from Germany. Lol it was pretty good bread. My other friend ordered the eggplant parm. He said the eggplant was crispy, not greasy at all, the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. He ate more than his stomach could hold hahaha. I will 100% for sure come back!

First time coming here. The décor is really nice and looks brand new. I got a cheese pizza. It wasn’t as dry as other bar-styled pizzas seem to be, and the crust was great! They also didn’t put a lot of spices on top of the cheese which made me happy. My friend got a chicken Caesar wrap. It was huge and she said the dressing was delicious. She got pasta salad as her side, which is different. The service was fine, no complaints. Overall things were pretty good, but not very memorable.

Love the atmosphere in this place, great place to go with friends for a drink, on a date, or with the family for a great meal. Try the steak and cheese roll app!!!

I walked in and was greeted by the hostess after 30 seconds of standing there. I was seated and the waiter took my order. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Dinner which was $ 18.99. Now it was almost all over-cooked fries on the plate with 7 medium sized shrimp. It also had a small dish of cole slaw that tasted like it came from Stop & Shop. Now after that meal. I wish I had gone to a local 99 restaurant. I could have had the same dinner with more shrimp on the plate for $ 9.99! Won’t try this place again anytime soon!

It’s about time something good came to our area. The bar and table service are both recommendable. The food is fresh and is timely served. The bar staff is always pleasant and attentive. Plenty of tv’s to watch the games!

Visited about a month after they opened and only got a cheeseburger with fries and a starter of Clam Chowder but I will say it was cooked exactly how I wanted it! I plan on returning so that myself and my family can try other menu items! Very much worth checking out this place! Also the waitstaff Caitlin?(Spelling) was awesome and very accommodating to my 8 yo son…

Probably worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Terrible service.(Inattentive and not knowledgeable.) Food bad.(Took forever, cold, and generally blah.) Only good thing was that the manager took responsibility for the missteps and lack of execution; gave us gift cards and promised next time would be better. Honestly not sure if we want to give this place another shot, even with gift cards. It was that bad.

I’ve been hearing a lot about the West End Grill, the food and the service being comparable to that of high end restaurants and steak houses in Boston so my expectations were fairly high walking in after me and a friend settled on the place. The experience itself started off great, walking in to a warm environment being greeted attentively by two hostess and being sat quickly. We were then greeted by a very friendly waitress who took our drink order and asked if we would like bread, well the bread is where the experience started to go down hill. The bread comes out and to my surprise they are cold, out of the bag, dinner rolls that you can pick up at any super market or even your favorite Shoney’s(Look it up if you don’t know Shoney’s). My opinion, if the bread isn’t good, probably a good chance the food will be par to underwhelming. When looking over the menu I couldn’t tell what they we’re targeting, there was no theme, just a bunch of stuff on the menu. I’ve heard the steaks we’re good but just two offerings and none of the other entrees really stood out so we ordered a few apps. We had ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Rolls, Buffalo Chicken Dip and Buffalo Potato Skins(On the specials). The cheesesteak rolls we’re just plopped on a plate so no true presentation as some places will at least cut them on a bias to aid when sharing. They were filled with tender steak and a good amount of creamy gooey cheese(that’s a good thing) with a crispy won-ton shell. They were good but left little to desire. With the Buffalo Chicken Potato Skins; meh. There was too much potato for it to be considered a skin and not enough or at least prevalent sized pieces of buffalo chicken to even know they were there. I’ve done buffalo chicken baked potatoes at home that would blow these away, plus they we’re even serviced or complimented with blue cheese. As for the Buffalo Chicken Dip, this was by far my favorite. It was well done, piping hot and accompanied by enough chips to accommodate the whole bowl of dip. The major bright spot of the night was the service. Our server was very attentive and regularly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. She was also helping with recommendations and her personal favorites. West End Grill could easily be a four, even five star with some changes to the menu and recipe’s to give them their own identity.

This was not a memorable experience. This restaurant has not really found it’s identity yet. I draw a parallel to a teenager. Teenagers are great, but haven’t quite figured out who the are or who they are going to grow up to be. Upon walking in the place, it feels a little upscale. When you head back to the bar you get a weird vibe. It feels a little industrial with a twist of sports pub finished off with some blue collar charm. This place is trying to cater to multiple demographics and in doing so struggles solidify any type of identity. The menu is not very inspired. Standard appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas, and a few steaks. When looking at a menu, I always try to find a signature dish. Something that pops and sets a restaurant apart from the rest, my reason for coming back a second time. My party decided to start with several appetizers and go from there. We went with philly cheesesteak egg rolls, buffalo chicken dip, and potato skins. To be clear, nothing was bad, but nothing was memorable. We all agreed that we had much better versions of these apps at several other local restaurants. Everything was bland and basic. There was no experimentation with flavors which led to some boredom. After being disappointed with appetizers, we decided to skip forward to dessert. The turtle cheesecake was small and underwhelming. The crème brûlée was basic and came with a few rotten blueberries. The dessert course was similar the appetizers. Very basic flavors without inspiration or excitement. Overall, nothing was bad, but I am left with no reason to hold West End Grill above any of the other dozens of similar pubs and grills on the South Shore. West End is new and still has time to grown up and decide if it wants to commit to being upscale or go the sports bar route. Above all, they have an opportunity to experiment with the menu and create some excitement in Randolph. The last thing Randolph needs is another uninspired pub. Time to find yourself West End Grill. On the plus side, our waitress was friendly and very prompt. She kept our drinks full and offered some great conversation. The floor manager checked in several times and we were well taken care off. Currently there is nothing that leads me to believe I need to return to the restaurant.

Well, it wasn’t great. It wasn’t terrible. Service was average. The 3 – 4 women at the hostess stand were friendly. I just have no idea why they were all there. No grilled cheese on the kids menu. The fries were so salty they were inedible without rubbing the salt off first. The first one I ate made my cough instantly because it was covered, absolutely covered, in salt. The chicken and eggplant panini sandwiches were very good. The rolls before dinner were hard and cool — bad. They could, and should, do better.

I’ve gone here twice now and this place is fantastic! We had the best waitress the second time around! I wish I got her name so I could actually Unilocal her! The first time we went the food was a little off with the timing. We ordered some Ceasar salads and meals and they literally came out minutes after each other. The second time everything was spot on! I suggest definitely getting the buffalo mac and cheese! It’s my favorite! It’s so good!!!

Friendly staff, great food and great prices! First time and I will be back. We all ordered the steak and cheese egg rolls. Someone else raved about them and they were right! They were excellent! Also ordered the fries that come with melted cheese. There was more than enough for the three of us, all adults. The seasoning on them were great.

Worst service I’ve had in a long time… coupled with the worst 2 martinis I’ve ever had. Walking into this joint you get a feeling of class… Don’t be fooled, this is a façade. We arrived after the dinner crowd had left with all the tables in our section empty, but still early enough for there to be copious waitstaff. Our waitress, Michelle D., wouldn’t even cut it in a poorly run diner. After taking forever to bring our drinks, she disappeared. Doing what? Who knows… the place was empty. She finally came and took our food order, and delivered an espresso martini that was clearly not made right– it tasted like vodka and poop, no froth, no beans. Michelle then disappeared again… 25 minutes later, came to take another drink order as we all sat parched. Where does she go on these trips? Again, who knows? Second martini was almost un-drinkable– as bad as the first. Finally out good came, appetizer and entrée. I asked why the app hadn’t come out first, and Michelle had the cajones to tell me that next time I come I should indicate I want the app first. Hello! Michelle– that’s your job, it’s called an appetizer for a reason. The one star is for the food… decent, but you can go somewhere that has good food, AND good drinks and service– SKIPTHEWESTENDGRILL. Advice for the manager: hire staff that is attentive, and for god’s sake find a bartender who can make a martini. Update: Michelle contacted me directly with foul language. Too bad she was not so attentative as a waitress.
