Sad to say, but this fine establishment permanently closed it doors last week, For the price, Rick’s offered really nice, quality meals, good service, and fun décor. It was a great place to take the kids. The highlight for us recently was the live piano bar on Thursday nights. Charlie(and in the past John) always welcomed us with friendly conversation and good music and we always met some great people there. We will greatly miss those music and fun filled evenings! BTW… The menu was all tounge-in-cheek humor. Perhaps, some had not got the joke. Rick was not really traveling the world in search of exotic fare to bring back to his restaurant in Randolph and, no, there was no gravy master either.

I used to frequent this place quite often and really liked it. But it seems to have really gone down hill and overly priced. Waitstaff isn’t very experienced and seems to have a lot of turnover. They used to have specials on chalkboard when you entered. This night it was just a partially erased board of old specials. Waiter was prompt with taking drink order and when he delivered drinks said ok ready to order we said well we would like to order an appetizer. Got the Calamari. It was good and the sauce is a horseradish sauce which is very tasty. He came back and said ok are you ready now to order. I asked about the prime rib which they used to always have on Friday and Saturdays he had to check. Nope now only have it on Saturdays. Then i asked if they had any specials. Only had 2 and he didn’t mention prices. I ordered a 10 oz. sirloin steak and i had to ask what it came with. it doesn’t come with a salad or a vegetable and is $ 18.00 just came with a potato. My son got a $ 12 burger. He said it was just ok. My steak was good and the mashed potato’s were good also. Well when it came time to pay bill we had a coupon from the Masspass book. Waiter said sorry manager wont accept it as one of you got a burger. Mind you coupon is only good for $ 10 off. and I had ordered a $ 10 Martini an appetizer and an $ 18 streak. So I asked to speak to manager she said the burger is not an entrée. It should be for $ 12 and really after all the money we spent. She said well use it next time. Sorry but there is not going to be a next time so she said ok i’ll give you $ 5 off. Well I hope the 5 dollars you saved is worth losing a loyal customer. I have the Outback and also Not your Average Joe’s right there to choose from.

Rick’s Café is just… ehh. We stopped by for a quick bite before church with a friend. The service was on the slow side. The food was to anything to write home about. We order calamari and two pizzas. The pizzas were sub/pizzq-shop-around-the-block greasy. I don’t usually mind greasy pizzas but considering the establishment I was expecting something of better quality. The bread that they serve before the meal was the best, though… a hot loaf of bread with a nice crunch on the outside and really soft inside. The garlic olive oil was delish. But you can’t just go here for the bread…

I have now had two awful meals here. I had been a regular. Haddock was ice cold, and I sent for it to be heated or something. They made it easy; they took away my plate and never brought it back! No dinner tonight! I’m never going back, and they shrugged when I told them so. AWFUL!!!

Awful. Everything was awful with the exception of Sam Adams. Why they needed an Italian gravy master to make jarred sauce for their pizza is beyond me. And the pasta primavera is miscatagorized. It should be under soups. The pasta and frozen veggies were way over cooked and floating in a butter/water sauce. Thankfully, the server was nice enough to drain it. Hit up Town Spa which isn’t too far away if you want great bar pizza.

Food and service was horrible. Drinks were great. Our waitress didn’t know the menu at all. She said the mix veggies were summer squash, zucchini, butternut squash & peppers. Instead Came with carrots, celery, onions and peppers & cauliflower. I asked what happened and the answer I got was… She can’t help what the cook grabs out of the bucket!!! My friend got chicken Alfredo. Waitress said it came with char grilled chicken but it was breaded & sautéed. Fat going through every piece. So gross. Never going there again

This past Saturday my friends and I missed our movie time at the Randolph theater so we decided to wait for the next one at Rick’s. My friend and I had seen this place before and had always wanted to try it so it worked out perfectly. Although we missed the live piano music and had to wait in the front for the hostess for a few minutes before getting a table, this place was great! The kitchen had just closed but our waitress was kind enough to make us a teriyaki pizza which was small but tasty(and perfect for a group of 5 to munch on as a snack). We ordered martinis — some were better than others — and one dessert drink, all of which were $ 10 each. The price was sort of ridiculous but I thoroughly enjoyed mine so I’m not complaining. Susan R was a wonderful waitress who gave us excellent service. I’d love to go back again to see what this place and the food is like during peak hours.

Visited Ricks numerous times The Good: Ricks is a place where you can sit at the Bar and catch a ball game dine in the rear and listen to live piano music and singing, starts around 6 – 6:30 pm(not sure what days) or dine in the front area for a more intimate feeling. Rick’s has a great comfortable«Cheers» kinda feeling around the piano bar. The staff has always been friendly. The menu is well rounded with daily/weekly specials. My entrée this time around was as usual very good prior Ive had the steak tips, burgers, calamari and pizza. All have been appetizingly satisfying. The drinks are good and reasonably priced. The bad: Bring back the steak fries! lol Conclusion: Whether taking in a movie or a night on the town Ricks is a recommended place for good eats. The menu selection is fair the prices reasonable and the live piano music enjoyable. Parking is plentiful and during the warmer weather you can dine outside on the front deck. Hat’s off to Rick’s!

Miss the bread. Pizza was burnt so bad had to send it back and the second was not much better. from the attitude of the waitress, I did not dare to send it back again. no offer for something else or to comp it although I didn’t want anything more than good food or service. I feel the quality here tanked.

Ok you know what? I am going to write a review just about the pizza folks. Yes, its that good. I never knew their pizza was so delicious. I never thought to try it but believe me, if you like bar pizza… this is where to go. I almost ate the whole thing… Waitresses are always friendly and its a great atmosphere.

Great family restaurant. Food is better than average, more pub style. Very good atmosphere too. Kids love the pizza and it is just as good as Linwood and Town Spa.

So disappointed! My husband and I would frequently visit Ricks until recently. The quality of the food has gone straight downhill! The prices are high compared to the small portions and the quality of the food. Tonight will be my last visit which is very unfortunate. I ordered a chef salad for a pick up and when I opened it I was so disappointed, there was legit about 3 – 4 ounces of chicken, so my husband went back and got another order. Came home to realize, it was still so poor, I posted a picture. This used to be my families favorite place, sad to say we won’t be returning.

If Ricks was a Ice Cream flavor it would be «Vanilla» everyone likes it but its just that. Its vanilla. Theres nothing about it thats crazy awesome. The décor is cool. The whole«casablanca» thing is sweet but the food is meh. The Fries are basically some crinkled cut fries that they got a supermarket. Frozen mush. But the help is cool and you get an automatic star in my book for giving out pretzels to people at the bar.

Overall, this was a very pleasant dining experience. I’ll detail below. ATMOSPHERE: This is a very welcoming restaurant. It is broken up into two parts; a more traditional dining room, and a bar/lounge area. The lounge area is definitely the best place to sit. It is very lively, and more fun in general. It is a very large space, so sitting in the lounge doesn’t make you feel like you’re at a bar, which is good for families who want to sit there. The restaurant is decorated with old americana memorabilia(license plates, road signs, etc.). Although it isn’t the best place to watch a big game, there are several TVs, and there is Keno for those interested. It is a very casual restaurant, but you could still have a nice quiet dinner in the dining room if you preferred that. FOOD: The food is always great here. It is consistent, and always quality. The menu features traditional American dishes, with an extensive appetizer and pizza list. An example of some specials would be a prime-rib dinner, and a whole belly clam dinner. Basic American comfort food. Their pizza is excellent, as far as bar pizzas go. Complimentary loaves of bread are served at dinner as well. SERVICE: The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. They are quick to greet, and quick to bring you whatever you need. Only compliments here. As a whole, this is a great restaurant to come to for dinner. It is friendly, lively, and has great food. Also note that it is right next door to the Showcase Cinemas Randolph, if you want to have dinner and see a movie. They even sell heavily discounted movie tickets at the restaurant. As a note to the restaurant: Although the pianist is a great addition to the lounge area, it seems as if he spends more of his time talking to the waitstaff and friends than he does play the piano. I have been coming to this restaurant a long time, and he never used to do that. It is very unwelcoming to the ear to be enjoying a song, to have him then just abruptly stop to talk to someone. When he is actually playing continuously it is enjoyable, but when he isn’t, it is very frustrating. We were there last night for about an hour and a half, and we never once heard him play one complete song. But with that said, excellent restaurant and keep up the good work.

Funny, I didn’t realize that I had been to Rick’s before until I headed back onto Unilocal because I was seated in a different section on my 2nd visit — by the windows just beyond the hostess stand, where the room was still lit by the bright spring sun. The bread arrived at the table, warm and stabbed through with a knife, with a scoop of soft whipped butter on the side. Plates weren’t brought out until the waitress thought we might want them to share the order of calamari that she had delivered. With two servers manning the entire space, it seemed, we had a tough time letting someone know that the salad had arrived sans dressing. For dinner, I selected the chicken parmesan sandwich $ 7.95(Fried chicken cutlet topped with tomato basil sauce, mozzarella, parmesan and Romano cheeses. Oven baked and served on a kaiser roll.), which came with a portion of crinkle cut fries. The sandwich was satisfactory, but nothing special. The fries were good as they were crisp. And they had the honey mustard dressing that I had requested special for dipping. Rick’s Café is right next door to the Randolph Showcase Cinemas, and is a simple walk down a grassy hill. They offer discounted tickets for $ 8, cash only, for regular movie shows only(ie. not for 3D nor for LUX seating). A peek at their online menu revealed that their House Favorites and Rick’s Grille no longer come with a courtesy side salad, but one may be ordered for a 95 cent surcharge.

Last time I was in here, was probably 10 years ago. I went recently with a couple friends before going to see a movie, and this place was surprisingly renovated. The inside bar/dining room has a garage feel with plenty of TV’s and Sports stuff to make it feel like a comfortable place for beers. I got the sampler, which came with a lot more food than expected. My friends got pizza and turkey tips. Both were highly satisfied with their meals. The waiter was great, the food was plentiful, and the beer was cold, what more does one need? One thing I noticed that kind of bugged me: I don’t need candlelight at a table near the bar. There’s plenty of lighting inside the place, they don’t need something in the way off the drinks, bread, etc. This place, from what I remember of 10 years ago, was an overpriced bore, and now it’s definitely a good sports bar that I will go to before a movie, as long as I don’t feel like mowing down Icee’s and Buttered popcorn before a movie.

Ricks Café has great food, is located right next to the Showcase cinema movie theater. The food is always consistent there. I went there on a Friday night, place was packed, but got a seat right away in the bar area, they had the baseball game playing on the tv’s & a singer playing on the piano too. They have big salads, great apps, dinner entrees & pizza, so a little bit for everyone. The service is great & we were in & out of there in no time, to make it to our movie!
