Ever since I tried Bojangle’s in Virginia Beach, I’ve had my eye on this location since this is the only Bojangle’s that’s within a reasonable distance for a day trip. This Bojangle’s is a pad site in front of a strip mall on US-222 Business northbound, although if you’re going southbound, there is a left turn traffic signal immediately before the restaurant. I have to say the fried chicken is very good and the biscuit and sides are a cut above other fried chicken places, but beyond that, there are numerous negatives. The employees, while polite and efficient when it was my turn to order, seemed to have trouble and voice-raising incidences with other customers while I was there. I’m not too fond of having all the amenities, e.g. napkins, plasticware, beverage dispenser, and condiments, all behind the counter, so one has to rejoin the line and ask at the counter if one needs more of anything. Also, they charge for drink refills unless you ordered a medium or large, which strikes me as a bit petty. And finally, the whole place looks very dark and dated for a fast food type of restaurant. Still, I’d return for the fried chicken.

Cafeteria line service, great chicken, old bay fries, dirty rice, southern tea, and friendly management. Prices have gone up and many of the combos are not available anymore. The best place in Reading area for this experience!

Ok im writing a new review because I decided to give it a third chance. Ok here it goes… It was actually good! I don’t know if I was hungry or what, but I actually liked their crispy chicken. Omg my apologies to the owners for my last bad review… It was good! Buuuuttt I’m still having a few mixed feelings about their gravy but it’ll grow on me I’m sure. I liked it better then KFC. Haha Bojangles did not pay me or give me free chicken in return to write a good review.

Fried chicken at it’s best but it depends on when you stop by for your meal. If you stop in after two you get the dregs of dry chicken. But if you come by during dinner or lunch you are in for a fantastic chicken feast. When I do show up here at the right times the chicken is crunchy, juicy, and oh so good. The biscuits are soft and moist as well as the sides. As for the restaurant itself it has been around for decades and basically looks the part. That is why I suggest drive thru, its easy, fast and you are on your way to chicken goodness. The thing about Bojangles is that its only in the north area, they don’t exist in Texas so I always make sure to stop by when I visit. Now if there was one near me I would probably go every week and gain 100lbs but it would be worth it.

I’m a sucker for good fried chicken and this is as good as you can get in the area… It’s certainly better than the KFC located across the street. The décor of Bojangle’s is a little odd, something along the lines of a Wendy’s from the 80’s. The biscuits are terrific — much better than the breakfast biscuits at Chick-Fil-A or McDonald’s. The servings of french fries are quite quite large, when compared to other possible side dishes, such as mashed potatoes with gravy or cole slaw. One thing that really annoys my wife is that you cannot pay extra for take-out buckets to get all white meat chicken. We don’t have a problem paying extra, but they should offer the possible upgrade.

This is not a normal place for me to be. Tonight Dana is on ninja warrior and we wanted to get some cheap food to eat with the staff while we watched. I have no idea why I decided to go to Bojangles but I did. I ordered the 20 piece biscuit box or whatever the fuck it’s called. The man with the mustache they’re running the counter was overly helpful. I might actually start going back there just to communicate with him and eat some chicken every once in a while. I left with a smile.

we recently moved to the area and realized there was a bojangles. I was so excited. I haven’t been to bojangles in years. my husband has never been and for as long as we have been married he has heard me rave about bojangles awesome chicken and biscuts… and tea. I was SO disappointed with the food(and the service) but mostly the food. first, when did they stop serving spicy fried chicken??? that’s what made them better than everyone else. mmmm… the spiciness of that deliciously crispy chicken and then taking a big swig of the(have your dentist on speed-dial) super sweet tea. apparently not the case anymore. the chicken not spicy, greasier than any chicken I have ever had… and not in a good way. and the tea was disgusting. definitely not as sweet as I remeember. I didn’t even try the biscut. and there was only one pleasent employee in the whole place… the old man bussing the tables. oh the bojangles in nc, couldn’t take a sip without eating the spicy chicken first because it was so sweet it made you cringe otherwise. anyway, i was so very disappointed. hubby didn’t like it either. will not eat here again.

Can’t resist a good southern style chicken. This is the only Bojangles in the north east of Maryland that I know of. It still felt that their quality is bit short compared to the Bojangles I’ve been in the south like the Carolinas. However, I’m still very satisfied with their chicken and biscuit. Funny that a KFC is just across the street and you can easily see that more people goes to Bojangles. Love their chicken and iced tea!

I love Bojangles. I’m just disappointed that they discontinued the corn. And I love that it’s only 5 minutes away from my house. Lol the drive thru service is slow so be prepared to wait about 10 minutes. And their iced tea is awesome :)

Been going here for many years. I really like their Buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese. But I’m so disappointed that they no longer have the spicy fried chicken. It was something no other restaurant in the area have, so different. Now they only have one type of fried chicken, boring! And I warn you their food is very high in sodium.

If you’re looking for finger licking good Chicken then Bojangles Famous chicken & Biscuits Is just for you! I’ve been going here since I was a child and i’m still going here, They recently went through a whole new spice change with the chicken but I’m still loving it. the chicken is way better than any other chicken around like KFC which is across the street from them. Fries an other fixes are so good! Always ask for fresh hot fries They’ll surely make you some. They have awesome iced tea I always get that when I go there but be warned it is very sweet like it should be!

The food is really good. I don’t eat it more than once a year if that but my husband inhales their chicken biscuit, fries and sweet tea once a week. Here is what I’m noticing lately– they are making some bad business decisions lately. I have an MBA in finance and I feel like I’m seeing a bad case study. They raised their prices recently for an upsized biscuit combo from $ 5.50 to $ 7.09. Today, we saw that they introduced new sizes for the fries. The large is still $ 3.00+ but the amount they now give you is easily half if not less than what they used to give you. Since the place is dated and dirty, you really can’t raise prices and reduce portions while leaving everything else the same. There are too many fast food options in this area to play games like this. I can see more people choosing to go elsewhere.

The Only bojangles in Pennsylvania which I feel they should have more of bojangles then KFC … Bojangles have the best fries(which they load the bag with), and the most moist white meat I ever had and the yummiest dirty rice.

Everytime I go in here everyone is so nice, especially the old man and the girls at the register. My boyfriend loves their buffalo wings and stops in once a week… I’m not a big fan of buffalo wings because of the vinegar in those hot sauces, but I’ll eat it here.(It’s reminds me of this resturant call Plate in Atlantic CIty, NJ, cuz their wings were good!) I usually get their 2 spicy piece dinner with dirty rice or mashed potatoes and fries. Fries are good… I like to drown my fries in the seasoning so I stand there as they fill my soda shaking away with the shaker they have tied down. If you like their seasoning on their fries, I’m pretty sure they sell that too. Four stars because of the bathrooms… Retro look, I’m ok with… It would be more convenient to have the fountain soda(free refills on med and lg drinks), napkins(when you’re eating those wings, your gonna need a few more napkins), straws on the outside so customers don’t have to bother the employees, Especially on a busy day. All in all, in my opinion. This place beats KFC, flavor wise.

Best fried chicken in Berks! I have been going to Bojangles since I was about 5 years old. The décor hasn’t changed since then and I love that. It literally feels like you have stepped back in time. I love the cajun chicken breast, fresh buttery biscuits, and the cajun fries! The customer service is always great. The manager even asked if I minded waiting for fries as he would drop a fresh batch for me!

I’m a vegetarian, so I can’t speak about the chicken, but Bojangles is a random alternative to the usual fast food lined up on 5th St. Ave. The biscuits, when fresh and warm, are good. The spiced french fries are good. The retro look is weird. I never thought this place would be around this long but after living in the area for 18 years, it’s still going strong.

One fine day, friends and I stumbled into the only Bojangle’s in Pennsylvania. I found their 1970’s-era countrified interior to be very Twilight Zone, the perfect lunch setting. It was around 1:30 pm, and still a bit crowded. A retiree/cashier took my credit card, took my order, and returned with chicken moments later. Per the cashier’s recommendation, I volunteered to be a test subject for their creamy cole slaw: not only did the slaw taste like the opposite of boiled babies, I’m still alive to write about it. Anyway, I used a spork to attack the crispy breading of my southern-style, Cajun-spiced chicken leg, exposing the slightly greasy underworld beneath. The meat came right off the bone, no rending required. My fried chicken smelled like fried chicken, but tasted like crack cocaine. Yum! Greasy chicken, buttery biscuits, and diabetes-inducing iced tea are some of the worst things you can possibly eat. But when their powers are combined, you get Bojangle’s, and you stop caring.

I only ate here once while I was living in Reading but that’s more because I value my arteries than because of the food. I thought it was pretty good stuff. As I remember(this was a year and a half ago) as far as the fried chicken goes you can choose from white/dark meat and a few selections of breading. The spicy breading was spicy enough to not be wimpy and pretty satisfying. There are a number of sides, fries, rice and beans, mashed potatoes and probably a few things I’m forgetting but I wouldn’t go overboard because the chicken is pretty filling. So. the next time you’re driving down 5th street say no to the Taco Bell and go nextdoor to Bojangles.
