I’m wavering between 3 and 4 stars here but am going ahead and giving the full 4 because the food is unique as far as what’s available in Redding goes. Some menu items are more enjoyable than others. Personally, I’ve stuck with their tandoori fish(sea bass) wrap or their shish kabab wrap. The build your own pizza(with nan bread as the pizza crust) isn’t bad either. The ambrosia sauce used on the wraps and pizza is a bit on the spicy side… and I like it that way but just a forewarning to those who aren’t into spicy food. For what you get, I think the prices are a bit on the high side($ 8.99 for the tandoori fish wrap with no sides). And, finally, the service is sometimes lukewarm. These are my only criticisms — given with the hope that the business owner will know where to make the needed improvements to help their overall rating here. Although it’s been interesting to witness all the businesses that have opened a closed at this location over the years(Bartel’s, Quiznos), I’d like to see Ambrosia improve and stick around for awhile.

Bad food, bad service. Can’t we get some good spots on West Redding? That is such prime real estate and its one giant fail after another. Quiznos was overpriced but decent food. Now its overpriced and really bad food. Will not go back. Unless it changes to an A&W. Love me some A&W

I really like this place — yes it’s true it’s a mix of cuisines and it’s definitely not fine dining, but I feel it’s not supposed to be anything but a place to get yummy food, at a reasonable price and relatively quickly. I have been in twice — both times my food excellent. First time the Tandori chicken wrap — I was politely told by the young lady working that it was spicy & I like spicy so I said yes please. She was a very nice girl who asked me exactly what I wanted on my wrap and prepared it perfectly. The wrap was a nice portion, definitely large enough to satisfy a healthy appetite. Also, the Tandori wasn’t THAT spicy — flavorful but not super spicy. Today I ordered a salad — and again another nice experience. The salad which I’m eating now prompted me to write this review — it’s AWESOME! I’m shocked there are so many negative reviews. Too bad :(I’ll definitely be back. Oh why only 4 stars — the flavored water machine was out of flavor.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s a local business, that’s close to my work. I went the first time to meet a friend, and they door was open and there were employees in there, but they said«Hey we will be opening in a couple weeks, you can come back.» Alright, well a friend and I went back a few weeks later. I thought it was a Greek restaurant, I guess from the name«Ambrosia». After eating there I’m not really sure what the food theme was supposed to be. Their menu is all over the place, pizza, sandwiches, wraps, and ice cream? Well shoot. I went for a gyro or a falafel or something. The closest thing I saw was a lamb wrap, so that was what I got. But when it came, it came with a spicy Indian style red sauce. So it’s an Indian place? I mean I love Indian food, but this wasn’t that.(They also had a tandoori chicken wrap I noticed on the way out.) I only had a few bites of my wrap, the lamb was dry. I won’t be going back. The whole experience brought to mind that phrase, «Jack of all trades, master of none.»

When I went to Ambrosia, I was the only person in the restaurant and there was only one staff person on at the time. This restaurant used to be Quiznos and it looks like they bought all of the equipment and chairs and tables that went with the old restaurant. They still have the sandwich toaster. Anyway, the girl at the front counter was very nice so I feel bad only giving a three star review. But there are some things that need to be changed for me to recommend this place. The menu is kind of strange and the place is a bit disheveled. Some of the furniture, is coming apart and in general the place has the same décor you would find on a lemonade stand. There are handwritten signs on the walls and on the windows. I had the Tandoori chicken wrap. It was spicy. And I love spicy. But it would probably be too spicy for most people. The wrap actually took a while to make, too, which I could see being a drag if there were a crowd in there. I sure hope this place stays in business. They probably need to adjust their menu to be a little more in line with Redding’s taste profile and then keep the spicier Indian items as A La Carte items. They also just need to do what they can to improve the appearance of the place both inside and out. They may want to take a page out of BLSS’ book and have a sign waver for a while.

We would have loved to have tried this restaurant, but never had the chance. We pulled in at 7:23pm on a Thursday with our family of 6. We were met by an extremely rude employee who was visibly irritated that we were there. My husband asked if they were still open and she responded that they were closing«in 15 minutes» and made it very apparent that we were not welcome. They close at 8pm according to their website. We went to Chicken Shack instead. We will never be back.

I was going there to try it for the first time and never made it in the door. We pulled into the parking lot only to see what looked like an employee standing in the door smoking. If they stand in the door to smoke what else are they doing or not doing. What a shame!

This is a new place which I was super excited to try. They have pizza, sandwiches and wraps which all looked delicious. They were out of lamb and mozzarella cheese when we were there, but we will defiantly go back to try. They are in the process of putting in a frozen yogurt station and smoothie maker. The food was very flavorful and I really enjoyed the nan bread. The staff were very friendly and let us try the ambrosia sauce before ordering. I defiantly recommend this place if you are looking for something new and tasty. The portions are large as well.
