First time dining at this little gem. The corned beef hash is absolutely one of the best I’ve ever had. Service is fantastic and the atmosphere is nice and quiet. Will definitely come back.

Awesome food and service! Just had breakfast at this little out of the way place. We were skeptical as we parked but as soon as we walked toward the Courtyard and saw this quaint place, we were surprised. I would highly recommend it.

The breakfast burritos are AMAZING as is the customer service. We are driving through Redding and are so happy to have found this gem.

Stopped here on a road trip up from LA to Portland. I had the veggie burrito which is the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in years. Friendly service and smells great when you walk in.

Excellent breakfast, decent coffee, fast and friendly service, and not far off the highway. Also large portions nicely prensented at a good price. It’s tucked away in a little strip mall so doesn’t offer much ambience, but a way better experience than stopping at a chain.

Very good lunch stop! The patty melt was cooked just right! Friendly service too. Great place for a quick stop right off the 5 Highway.

This is probably one of my favorite breakfast places. It is the ONLY place in town that offers a ton of Gluten Free options. Their gluten free bread is amazing btw! Prices are fair and food is awesome. A must try!

Great spot for breakfast with easy access on and off the freeway! I had the waffle combo and my husband had the Courtyard Grande. Reasonably priced and came with great service. We will be back!

The two stars is not for experience or because the food tasted bad. My fiancé and I went yesterday around 11. It wasn’t busy at all and could seat ourselves. He ordered a 2 egg breakfast and I ordered the crispy chicken wrap. His plate didn’t look very full and I only got the wrap, no side dish. The wrap was huge, but when I took a few bites I realized it was a lettuce and tomato wrap complimented by a few bites of chicken. Very disappointed! The reviews seemed fair so I wanted to give it a shot, but I will not be returning. After my huge lettuce wrap and the small plate of breakfast the bill was $ 22! Definitely not worth it in my mind.

UPDATE: I stopped this morning just to grab a coffee to go, and the coffee tastes better. It’s also $ 2.25 for a cup. However, it’s got that ever so slightly sorta smoked, drip coffee taste that reminds me of coffee at my grandma’s. ORIGINAL: Five stars because they’re doing everything right. Fresh breakfast. Pleasant atmosphere(except I don’t prefer the modern country music playing in the background). Friendly service. Awesome courtyard directly outside the front door. I’ve been in Redding for two months, and this is the best kept secret that I’ve found so far. If I could make a suggestion to them, it would be to serve better coffee. :)

I stayed at the Super 8 and ate breakfast here. It’s within walking distance. Everything was wonderful. The waitress went above and beyond and the corn beef hash was excellent. bottomless coffee too. I recommend it

My kids and I love to eat breakfast here! The strawberry waffles and chicken fried steak are our favorites. The owner is super friendly and has made a lot of good changes to the atmosphere and food.

Great locally owned restaurant. The new owners have really improved the service and the FOOD. I waited to write this review until we had eaten here for the third time. Everything has been consistently great. Have had an omelette and the eggs benedict, both have been made perfectly. But what really makes the meal is the country potatoes(made with red potatoes). My wife has had the chili burger(made with homemade chili) she said it was very good. This is a perfect stop for people traveling on I-5. Instead of going to one of the chain restaurants(which Redding has so many of) go to this great little diner with food made from fresh ingredients and good service. For those of you traveling with pets, you can sit outside in the courtyard with them.

We were hoping to find a reasonably quick breakfast spot on our drive through Redding. Instead the service was slow and the food was gross/nothing special. The California Chicken Sandwich had rubbery inedible chicken, and scant avocado and bacon. The macaroni salad I got with it was bland with undercooked pasta. My husband got the French Toast Combo which was a small portion and looked quite sad but he didn’t complain because he was hungry and we had to wait so long. The waitresses were polite but we had to ask for our silverware and when my husband told the waitress that I did not enjoy my meal when she came to get our plates(the chicken and the Mac salad uneaten on my plate), she said nothing. They do get one star for having outside seating but alas we had to sit inside so I still smell like diner. Blech.

Stopped here on my way to Portland. Food and service was excellent. My girlfriend had the cornbeef hash and I had a half order of biscuit and grave with an over easy egg. Everything was homemade and you could really tasty the difference. Quality of the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite off of the I-5.

It’s a bit challenging to find this place if you’re coming from the side closest to the highway, but just think about the name for a bit. For the interested traveller, this place is easily accessible from I-5, and there’s even room to park a few RVs. We were seated quick enough and the waitress took our drink orders. A few minutes till we got our coffee and then again a shirt wait to get our food orders in. Defensibly, there was only one server for the restaurant at that moment. She did keep our coffees pleasantly full the whole time though! I got the chorizo scramble, it was decent. Nothing spectacular but it was hot and fresh. Bonus, the chorizo itself was good which isn’t always a given even in taquerias. One too few tortillas came with the meal(though they were corn!). Overall, the feeling is what holds this place back. It doesn’t feel dirty, just a little dingy. It’s kind of a greasy spoon joint but with a paint job that tries too say otherwise.

Twice I needed a coffee fix and this place was open. The coffee is nothing special. However, the pancakes are delicious– they are big(diameter wise) and fluffy. The batter tastes good. They have some nice syrup to go along with it. And the burgers! The burgers are delicious. I think they use Kaiser rolls to make them. They warm the Kaiser roll on the griddle with butter and yummy– this is a good base for the burger. The meat is just normal burger meat but with all the other fresh topics it is a surprising place to get a delicious burger.

Very clean and nicely decorated. They have a small dining room with about 9 four tops and 8 or so two tops. The food was pretty darn good. We had a Burger and a Rueben. Both were cooked to perfection, reasonably priced and served with a smile! I will definitely be back and if it’s a nice day take advantage of the tables on the patio. P. S. It’s a little hidden but worth the hunt.

Nice relaxing atmosphere in the courtyard area. The stone walls make it feel like a natural setting, but the food didn’t come across anywhere near as natural or organic. When I ordered the oatmeal, I was happy to discover that they had honey in place of brown sugar, but they didn’t have soy milk instead of milk. I asked for nuts, but they didn’t have any. It was a small portion of oatmeal. I asked for a little more and they brought it at no charge which was very kind of them. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. The honey they brought to the table was Great Value clover honey distributed by Wal-Mart out of Arkansas and they had stacks of individual Smuckers jelly packs and sweeteners at the table. Seeing those wasteful little individually wrapped packs broke the cool zen feeling I was getting from the green courtyard area. The water tested at 72, with 50 and lower being safer to drink. This is much better than local tap water, so they must have a decent filter. This isn’t the place to come if you want an Americano or soy latte. They only serve one kind of drip coffee and it was only so-so. My husband and I came here on a Sunday morning around 10 and most of the tables were empty. Too bad the food wasn’t up to par with the people and the atmosphere. If they made some improvements on their menu, I think they could draw a lot of people to hang out in their peaceful courtyard. Tip: Nice spot if you want to meet up with a friend or get some work done in a peaceful outdoor setting.
