The Classic Grilled Chicken is room temperature versus hot. To obtain the most comfort from comfort food and most importantly to avoid bacterial sickness there is a minimum temperature that is obvious not a concern of management or worker.

I love DT. Been a customer for so long that they’ve changed the name on our usual faire. My wife’s ‘Veggie Works’(old name) was typically delicious. My ‘macho meat burrito’(old name) was one of the best I’ve eaten. But. .. the wall & window at our corner booth had taco sauce splatters all over them. Yuck! Now about. .. Redding has a huge homeless problem. They are everywhere in this town. Some are aggressive. As you should be everywhere, be vigilant & aware of your surroundings.

We stopped here after attempting to patron a closed Taco Bell, and we are certainly glad that we did. Mike was the man, if you stop here ask for him, tell him you want the whole order to fit in one bag and he can make it happen. Food was excellent as well, great job del taco redding!

Would have been 4 stars, as food and service is always excellent. But, on my most recent trip, I was charged $.25 for adding onions on a burrito which has for the past, um, forever years, been free.

This Del reminds me of the Sacramento Del. Food is always good and prepared well, but sometimes isn’t as fresh as others. The employees at this Del are always smiling and eager to help which is nice, and I once visited in the 100+ degree heat of summer when their air conditioner was broken and they were still working hard. Very impressive. Miserable, but impressive. The franchise owner should have closed for the day if for no other reason than to avoid an involuntary manslaughter charge when half his staff dropped dead from heat stroke. Also, I don’t know if there’s a rehab house or a mental ward or what nearby, but the parking lot and attached gas station is always crawling with some unstable types yelling random shit, or asking for money, or staring at trees. All in all, 3⁄5 milds. If it weren’t for the staff, they’d get 2. C’mon guys…

Out in Redding on a business trip. This was a pitstop. It was either Del Taco or neighboring Taco Bell, but we decided on Del Taco in the end(my friend Ben said they had fries) – which may have been a bad decision in retrospect. I wish I took photos of the burrito they folded(or more accurately put, not folded). My Cali Burrito collapsed onto my plate so I had to use a fork. But it was okay: carnitas, french fries, guac, salsa, I don’t know. The thing was a mess so I can’t immediately comment on its contents, but it was fine. On another note Del Tacos sauces are also inferior. Their hottest is just not hot enough, though I do appreciate the nice little touch for customers by putting a crapload in little plastic baskets. My disgruntled friend Satchel may have gotten indigestion from whatever he ordered(he passionately called for Taco Bell — we probably should have listened to him). At least the service was fast and friendly, and the place was really clean and sanitary. The restaurants in the area cater to a tourist crowd a bit, and by tourist in Redding I mean people who just pass by. Maybe that’s why they don’t care as much about the burritos they prep. Impressed by this franchise though, will definitely give them another chance.

Are you kidding me? They can’t take a 50 even if the order is 56 bucks. The owner needs to get his head out of his or her butt and come up with a drop system that allows for bigger bills.

Got off the 5 fwy for a quick bite to eat. The guy working the drive-thru was super friendly. Service was quick and the food was hot. Happy!

Really good fast food. Fair prices and very consistent. Fresh made beans daily. I really like that they have the hot sauce packets on the tables. Way better than Taco Bell.

For a del taco, its average. I never know if the meat is going to be overcooked so I mainly just get bean and cheese burritos. I think the beans are cooked at night for the next day because they are always fresher at night. I don’t trust the area, so try to go during daylight. Its ok but with all the competition surrounding it, I would go elsewhere.

Del Taco is fast food so I did not have the highest of hopes. I am from Redding and needed a quick bite so I popped into Del Taco to grab a bean an cheese burrito and a chicken quesadilla. They did not give me a receipt and got my order wrong and when I went to call them back they argued that they didn’t know I wanted chicken in my chicken quesadilla. It was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I will not be giving my money to this establishment and am extremely disappointed by the terrible customer service.

I had the fish tacos and dad had a steak burrito. Both pretty good but Redding is not exactly a destination point. Area looked a bit sketch. Clean enough but if you need to go to the bathroom, then get a key to open it. Not exactly a great spot being congested right off I-5.

I swear to you… I started an experiment, out of 10 visits in 1 month… How many times could this place get your order right through drive thru. Ready for this… 6 times they missed more than 1 thing, 1 time they just left 1 thing out, 1 time they just forgot sauce and napkins… And one time they got it completely right. Well done guys… Please don’t go here, so frustrating to just know that you will get home with your order messed up.

It’s Del Taco, so I didn’t expect 5 star dining.. . just sayin’. We drove through and ordered the same old thing, Fiesta Pack. We were in a terrible hurry, taking off for a 6 hour drive and we were already behind schedule. «Let’s just drive through Del Taco and get some grub.. .» Mistake. We found it on Google Maps, drove right to it, and waited behind a parked car in the freaking drive through. What the hell? The damn thing was parked in front of the order speaker for about 4 minutes before we figured out it was empty. Just then some joker comes out of the men’s restroom, which is right next to the order speaker, jumps in his car and takes off. So, we finally order. Fiesta Pack, one drink. Iced tea with a little lemonade. She asks if we want fries. My hubs says«No thank you» and she replies, «Large or Macho Sized?» «Large or Macho sized what?» he questions. «Fries. Do you want Large or Macho?» she continues to ask. «No fries! I want NOFRIES!» She gives us the price and we look at each other. $ 14 for Fiesta Pack and one regular sized drink? I tell hubs don’t worry, she probably charged us for fries and at this point, 10 minutes into this adventure, I just want to GTFO of here. «I’ll eat the god damned fries. Let’s just go!» One car in the drive thru in front of us. We wait another 5 minutes. Now, we are 15 minutes into this ordeal by the time we hit the window. We get the Fiesta Pack and regular sized Iced Tea, which had no lemonade, and pay and go. I’m in too much of a hurry to screw around. We got no receipt. Deep in the box, under the fricken burritos(which tasted great), lie the order slip. She charged us for 6 burritos and 6 tacos individually, instead of the Fiesta Pack price of $ 8.99. So we paid $ 12 just for tacos and burritos. But the food was good. Thus, the second star.

I’ve been to a few Del Tacos in my time, and the Del Taco in Redding is the best. They’re open super hella late, and you can watch meth users fight in the parking lot for entertainment. Also, the food is totes delicious.

My friend from the East Coast calls Del Taco«The good Taco Bell chain». And I’ve got to agree. Even when the food is mediocre(and this is a mediocre) location, it’s head and shoulders above it’s Mexican fast food chain competition. The people behind the counter were friendly, got us our food quickly, and it was decent. My only beef: Why is it their iced tea always tastes like it’s made with coffee? *shudder* Nasty.

About the only thing I eat from this Del Taco is their french fries, and that is becoming less and less common. It appears to me that they either do not cook their french fries long enough, or hot enough. I usually order the Macho size, and by the time I get to the bottom of the cup, the fries are soggy with the grease. I’ve had them cook them a little extra and they no longer are greasy but they are overcooked.

worst del taco ever! i’m pretty sure the quality of del taco is directly proportional to how far from the equator it is. example: here in LA, del tacos are pretty much the same, sure there’s a bad one here or there, but its pretty standard. the further north you travel on the 5 the worst they get. the few times we started tour going north, this del taco was our last memory of LA that’d we’d take with us. and every time it sucked donkey balls. the store is always run by a bunch of white redneck kids and a people from the hills have eyes. the food just isn’t the same. i can’t even describe it. but trust me, if you want to have some del taco up in the woods, buy it in LA, stick it in your glove box for 8 hours and i promise it will be better than what you’ll eat here.
