The best rib eye steak I’ve had in a long time. Service was great and nice atmosphere

Visiting Bend/Redmond area and staying at Eagle Crest Resort, we were in the mood for steak and since there aren’t too many options in the area, we decided to try Coyote Ranch. We ordered the rib eye steak for 2 and it was terrible, tough, not enough seasoning, took over an hour and we ordered it medium. The best part of the meal was the baked potato for me, very disappointing.

Ate at the pub at the airport… Terrible both times. Horrible chili, and 4 measley, greasy chicken tenders for 8.75? Avoid their pub at the Redmond airport.

I have been lucky or the food has been great from day one! I know you can get a bad cook or server every now and then but I have only met the good ones over the last two years. Every time I visit I have a good time and great food. For Redmond Oregon this this is the best duck and steak around. It rivals large city food any day.

I had to write a review to redeem the stars of The Ranch. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Redmond. The food is good but I love it the most for the amazing customer service. Working in food & beverage service myself, I am extremely sensitive to customer service and I must say I never leave The Ranch disappointed! The same wait staff has been there since I started frequenting about two years ago. The owners obviously care about their employees a great deal. They have an active presence in the restaurant and I have witnessed them come by and bus tables on multiple busy nights! I love the bread and garlic starter and the portions are amazingly large with incredible prices for quantity and quality. My husband and I wonder how they make any money(seriously!). I don’t know why anyone would EVER say this place is overpriced! You have to try The Ranch if you have never been. You will not be disappointed! Update: the new Ranch Hall is so much fun! Make sure to stop by for drinks and games after dinner!

We went on a Sunday at 12 for lunch and were the only people in the place. We looked at the menu and saw duck and steak and other fine things listed. The server said the breakfast bar is available also but we wondered how long the food had been warming so we ordered from the menu. An hour passed and the server said it should be just a couple of minutes, 10 more passed and we left. I think the owners kids were in the bar playing darts… NICE! Hey the place looks cool from the road, next time we’ll keep going.

My family and I were passing through Redmond while on a road trip, and the gal at the front desk of our hotel recommended Coyote Ranch as the place to go for a good steak. The food was awesome, first off, but the service was even better. The owner came around multiple times to be sure we were well taken care of, and wasn’t at all obnoxious about it. But back to the food… my ribeye was cooked to a perfect just under medium rare, like I ordered, and was one of the best steaks I’ve had(and I’ve had plenty). The beef vegetable barley soup was fantastic, as was the fresh bread with roasted garlic and balsamic vinegar. The augratin potatoes were a hit with both the kids and adults — can’t go wrong with some bacon! As great as the rest of the meal was, dessert was definitely a highlight. Their dessert specials were a berry crisp and a white chocolate pumpkin cheesecake. The cheesecake was generously portioned, fluffy, and had a great crust. The berry crisp looked like something my grandma would make, in a good way… it looked like someone had just gone out back, picked a ton of different berries, and covered them with a homestyle oat crumb topping. The price was surprising…5 people, each ordering fountain drinks, an entrée, and dessert(we were all full, and most of us had leftovers both from dinner and dessert), and the bill came in at just under $ 150. A great deal for both the quality and quantity of the meal we received. We were all very happy with both the food and the overall experience, and will definitely be returning if we’re in the area again!

Great little steakhouse!!! They support local. All grass feed beef. A good value.

Sorry, but other reviews here that rate this place must have never eaten in other places to know the difference between good and bad. This place is not great, at all — I gave it the benefit of the doubt after my first visit and went back recently with some business visitors. First up the service — you cannot fault the girls in the bar area but the table service is dismal — you are basically forgot about once you’ve got your meal. As to the meal — not cooked properly, not hot enough and then when they say they’ll make another, it is zapped in the microwave — since when did rack of ribs get microwaved??? warm food, cold service and lack of attention to diners, I advise going elsewhere where a business wants you and will try to at least make you feel as though your buck is worth a bang…

Honestly, for your money and time you can NOT get a better steak, cocktail and service in the town of Redmond then at Coyote Ranch! My wife and I go to Coyote Ranch twice a month whether we need to or not! First time we went I order the surf and turf and a gin and tonic, and haven’t ordered anything else since then! PERFECT! Service is always good olé’ polite country girls that are very attentive. I really like the garlic and bread app they give you on the house every time! You need to try Coyote!

How to choose from ‘A-OK’ and ‘I’m a Fan’ … The A-OK part comes in rating the food … it’s usually hot. It’s usually palatable, it’s reliable and you know what you’re going to get. The ‘I’m a Fan’ part comes in when you consider the wait staff, their attentiveness and how hard they try to please you. We have visited Coyote Ranch more than a few times, and each time — it’s exactly what we expect; the main course meals are rather high priced for their level of delivery, the drinks are cold, and the atmosphere is fun(country cowboy). And the wait staff is always on the ball. Over the years we’ve tried probably ¾ of the menu items offered and honestly — and perhaps sadly, they’re nothing to write home about, but they’re good-ish. Here’s the breakdown: The salads are usually fairly good, though uninspired and a bit dry. The sauce on the ribs is good, but you need to scrape it off for it’s excess — same goes for most rubs on the steaks. The pasta dishes are mostly … well, pasta and they serve a dried out hunk of garlic with every dish. The side dishes … you can take or leave. Now, I have to say — back before the proverbial ‘Economic Downturn’ the prices were more reasonable and the food was a bit more impressive, and for some reason — it generally tasted better. Still, it’s a fun place to visit and not a bad place to spend an hour or so on any evening they’re open — just be aware of the high prices and go early so you can order off the early bird menu.

I give the Coyote Ranch 5 stars not necessarily because a food critic would find it to be perfect but rather based on the scale that I went there with my family and all of us liked the food and we all had a good time. I have to say we almost didn’t go due to some of the naysayers in the prior reviews. My wife and I and our kids(12, 8, 4) went there for a late dinner on a recent overnighter to Redmond. The place is certainly western in nature and decorated as such but for us city-folk who like getting out of the city we found it fun. Lots of steak and rib options on the menu and a great kids menu. Our salads were decent but the Strawberry Vinaigrette dressing was great. The bread they bring out is awesome and they also bring out an entire garlic bulb which was roasted and hot, my wife mashed the cloves with the balsamic oil they brought out. It was outstanding. I had the beef ribs which were great, although I would have cooked a few minutes longer. The BBQ sauce was good and they didn’t drown them which I like. Why do restaurants drown their food? To hide something? I really enjoyed the ribs and their pinto beans as a side were great mixed with chives and other stuff I can’t remember. My wife had the filet medallions which were outstanding and she enjoyed greatly. They are cooked over an open flame and not drowning in butter or salt or oil. The kids meals impressed me. The hamburgers on the kids menu must be about a third pound of beef at least and they were delicious. Made me question why I didn’t get a burger. Our server Kara was wonderful to us as our kids can be noisy at times and we were the last ones in the restaurant. Kudos to her as we had some neighboring guests that were rude and she held great composure and helped us have a great time. Yes, like someone else said, the place is hard to find, just look for the neon lights of the Mazatlan restaurant and pull in, it’s back there. Don’t be dismayed by other reviews, this is a good casual place to go. If we had a babysitter and it was date night for my wife and I we’d go to the Brickhouse but for a casual time with family or with friends, Coyote is great. Will go again next time we are in Redmond. Thanks for a fun time.

Wow! What happened to this place? It use to be fairly good, but not now. Went here for dinner with my husband and some friends. My husband ordered the Surf N Turf. Well… when it came time to get our food, my husband’s dish was nowhere in sight. The waitress non-chalantly tells my husband«Sorry but your meal was given to someone else». I mean really!!! At least they could have lied and said they made a mistake with the dish and had to re-cook it or something. My husband didn’t receive his dinner until we were all done and putting our left over’s into to-go containers. I was so upset by this; I asked to talk to the manager. I thought perhaps they might feel just a tiny bit bad for my husband’s extremely late dinner and offer his dinner on the house, but no… all the manager said was«We made a mistake, sorry», «How about a free dessert?». They were quite uncaring and very rude about all this. I think that’s the part that upset us the most. People work hard for their money, especially in this economy. People don’t go out to dinner as much as they use to, at least we don’t. So when we do, it’s a special occasion and to be treated so poorly, really ruins the moment. I’m not one to complain about restaurants; as a matter of fact this is my first review ever. But, this experience was so horrible I had to do something. Not sure what happened to the good service and food at Coyote Ranch, but be assured it doesn’t exist any longer. I can honestly say I will never eat here again and everyone else in our party feels the very same way. What a shame, since Redmond has literally no steak houses other than this cruddy place.

Bend is definitely cattle country and for a great steak the Coyote Ranch cant be beat. Very well done atmosphere and a great menu. I should probably give this one a 5. I want to visit again. Will update the rating then. :)

This is my kids’ favorite place to eat dinner in Redmond. Large booths and the kids are given etch-a-sketch toys to play with at the table to pass the time. They serve the kids their meal when the adults are having their salad or soup. When the adults are served their entrees, the kids are given a large cookie with whipped cream. Gee, I wonder why they like it here? My only complaint/warning is that my idea of ‘medium’ is different than their idea, so I’ve learned it is best to have a discussion with the server to describe how I want my meat prepared. Before I learned to have the discussion, I’ve sent my meat back and it was no problem and it was fixed immediately. It is a large restaurant with high ceilings and feels a little more like a bar than a restaurant. Fun«cowboy» décor and our service has always been good. When we’ve celebrated a birthday here, the staff has gone the extra mile and left a birthday card on the table and sent a special chocolate brownie dessert for the birthday boy. It is a little hard to find since it is at the back of a strip mall off of Highway 97. Not in the top tier of restaurants in Redmond, but it is in our regular rotation.

After living in Central oregon for almost two year s we finally ate at the Coyote Ranch in Redmond. Food was good and priced within reason. Our waiter was graet and on the ball. We went in around 4:305 Pm on a Sunday evening so the palce was in no way packed. The steak was prepared medium rare(I asked for RARE) What is about requesting RARE that completely escapes the chef I ask you? My husband ordered the pork ribs. His came as ribs are ment to be cooked… Well Done, tender and with sauce. presentaion was nicely done. Amosphere was nice. Ranch style.Casula attire. But then where in Redmond can you find a place you can actually dress up for. Everything is casual. Okay the draw backs to this place are…1. to mucu rub on the meat for me. If you have to rub it down beyond reconition the meat is usually a lesser grade and needs all the help it can get. .2. CHECK your bill. the computer rounds your total up instead of computing what is on the menu price… yes you will have… pennies added. we were over charged by $ 1.80.Doesn’t sound like alot but do the math after say 20 people have been over charged and did not actually check the bill… yea its a great way to hussel your customers with a happy face all the way to the bank! When we brought this over charge to the attention of the hostess we were asked If we were form New York. Whats up with that? Will we go back… more than likely not. This is a shame as ther are so few good places to eat in our smal town. The food is good but hey I like paying what stated on the menu… silly me
