I was super duper looking forward to In*gredients for weeks and finally was able to get there with a MSFT friend(it’s inside building 34, so not open to the public), and I was definitely pleased. The style is pre-fixe: 3-course lunch for $ 15, which is cray cray for a John Howie restaurant… can we say: MSFT subsidy? The food was fast, the service good and the atmosphere is fab. Almost makes me want to work for MSFT. They occasionally showcase local chefs, and this week(or may be month) they are showcasing Iron Chef winner Holly Smith from Café Juanita, which makes me want to go try Café Juanita after this meal. But I digress… I started with the salad with strawberry, peas and avocado, and Ryan started with the asparagus appetizer. While neither was worth writing home about, the stake with red wine reduction was phenomenal, and the asparagus side we ordered(while arrived way late) was perfectly cooked, though not quite perfectly seasoned(a bit on the salty side). The panna cotta was perfect… not too sweet, and topped with a deliciously cured strawberry. Serious value for your $ 15. Oh, and no tax for whatever reason. So, um, yeah. Minus star for the salad, small portions, and the poorly timed side). Nevertheless, highly recommended.

How can you not like In. gredients? 3-course fancy-pants lunch for $ 15 with genuinely friendly service and good ambiance that makes you almost forget that you’re still at work… well, sort of. In. gredients is a John Howie restaurant in Building 34 on Microsoft Campus(as in, you need some sort of Microsoft badge to get in here). You can book a reservation on OpenTable or via email, or you can also go to the«bar»(where there is no booze) and seating is first come, first serve. The portion looks tiny but is satisfying. They change the menu every… month, I believe? Or maybe quarter. Anyway, the current menu is crafted by Chef Holly Smith from Café Juanita, who also happens to be an Iron Chef… no big deal. Everything is delicious and they always have a vegetarian option. I came here with a vegan friend(not realizing she was vegan, ah I’m a bad friend like that) and they didn’t really have any vegan option on the menu, so they thoughtfully whipped up something special off the menu for her. There, you just got an excuse to come visit your Microsoft friends.

John Howie’s masterpiece with $ 15 for a 3-course meal. The only catch — you need to know a Microsoftie to get in

The current menu has the best fish and best chicken dishes I’ve ever eaten. The portions are plenty and this coming from someone who tends to over eat. I’ve been here many times through 3 menu changes and all my meals have been great. The other 2 and 3 star reviews for this place are unbelievable to me

Fancy John Howie restaurant within Microsoft campus. 3 course lunch $ 15. Menu changes every month or so. Service was a bit slow, but very pleasant. Open table reservations available. In terms of the food, it wasn’t my favorite. The first course I got prawns, which was like two of them and reminded me of honey walnut prawns from Chinese restaurants. Not that it was bad, just that it did not stand out. My friend and I got the lamb burger and ahi tuna salad to share for entrees. Lamb burger was filled with weird bits of things that I did not love. Sweet potato fries that came with it was good. The salad wasn’t really a salad. It was more like fingerling potatoes and rando pieces of veggies with some ahi tuna slices on top. Did not enjoy this much. Dessert, I forget the name, but this was probably the best compared to the first two courses. It was some sort of mousse/cake with sorbet/cream layers above. Not sure I wanna try again, when their menu switches again. Pretty underwhelming flavors.

Great addition to campus. Love the option to have some high-end cuisine and excellent atmosphere. Wish the portions were a little more generous, but love the rotating menus and desserts

Décor/Atmosphere: This is a higher end establishment and the décor is set to match. If you get seated towards the back, you will find a more open space and a view outside. Staff: The staff here are really courteous and attentive. No fuss here at all Food: I skipped the three course meal option and tried the special cut of fillet Mignon. I got my steak medium rare with a small side of vegetables. The steak was really tasty and tender. The food arrangement was appealing. This is a really nice dining option if you’re in the Redmond area but the wait times in between the servings can be long. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch here and I suggest you try it out.

Delicious, fancy-type lunch food at reasonable prices and reasonable portions. You get a variety of three-course lunches(appetizer, main, dessert) served to your table like a «grown-up» restaurant, but you’re in a freaking Microsoft café! The portions are small, so don’t go in expecting a Buca di Beppo style feast. Décor is great, staff are friendly, and the location can’t be beat if you work on main campus. :) Go anytime outside of 12−1p and there’s no wait.

In. gredients is the perfect place to get top of the line gourmet food next to your desk! Enough said. The staff is really friendly and they always do their best to accommodate you. I feel really spoiled to have this only a couple of minutes from my desk. I have been coming as a regular ever since they opened and you cannot go wrong with the menu. It might look as too little at first but if you go through the 3-course menu, you will not be hungry at the end. Where in the world can you find Haute Cuisine so convenient, so cheap and to top it: in a friendly environment.

Hmm, went to In. gredients based on a friend’s recommendation Why are Microsofties so spoiled. $ 15 for a nice three-course meal with good service and a pretty décor. Well, to be fair, the portions of the meal were small. I liked my devilled eggs. egg, a lot as the app, a friend said she got the Hawaiian poke as an app before too. I think your dining experience really depends on the day that you come and which items are available on the menu. The proscuitto-stuffed chicken I got was underwhelming and lacking flavour. I also tried a little bit of the shrimp & zucchini spaghetti, which had a better sauce and better than my main. but still, underwhelming The dessert was a simple papaya/mango salad. It was alright, nothing I can’t make at home if I tried. I’d definitely like to try the other nicer restaurants within Microsoft though. Unfortunately, the foodie in me wasn’t impressed with this restaurant :(

Overpriced for the quality of the food. The sunchoke soup wasn’t all that good(pomegranate seeds?), the cavatelli was not correctly made, the savory dessert was just strange. No desire to come back, even with the lousy Microsoft cafeteria food.

Everything here is great. The menu changes monthly and it’s not always just John Howie. The only issue I have is the first portion is a bit small for taking so long to get the second dish. It’d be nice if we had something between.

Wow — this is the best workplace dining I have ever experienced. This is the new fine dining establishment in building 34 at Microsoft led by John Howie. It’s an incredible value — gourmet dining, 3-course meal, for just $ 15. This month, the guest chef is Maria Hines from Tilth/Golden Beetle/Agrodolce. She offers choices from each of those menus, and everything was delicious. I had the soup course, pork belly entrée, and savory burrata«dessert». I agree with the commentary that portions are small, but they seemed appropriate for a 3 course lunch tasting menu type approach. There was also wonderful French press coffee to close the meal. Do allow an hour for lunch as service is a little slow and definitely a more leisurely pace than the average cafeteria! Reservations are also recommended.

It’s a John Howie restaurant in a Microsoft building. WHAT? I knew Microsofties were spoiled, but damn… LOL 3 courses(small portions) for $ 15. Good deal right? I thought so, but the food isn’t what I would hope for. Now… I can do small portions with good food, but this place had average to not so great food and small portions. *sigh* I ordered the lentil soup which was pretty good. Flavorful, good mixture of textures, and the perfect consistency. For my entrée, I ordered the fish with rice and the fish was okay… but not mind blowing, and definitely not enough food. The fish had a peanut like sauce which was a bit too heavy for the fish IMHO. They paired it with a sticky rice that was okay. Again, nothing to write home about. Dessert was a savory tart which was pretty good, but again not enough food. I left feeling somewhat hungry which is never fun. My bf had the lentil soup as well, which he enjoyed. he ordered the pork loin which was tough but was sort of pink in the center(i’m not sure how you manage that…). The truffle bread pudding was way too much truffle, and not enough other flavors which made it hard to eat. His dessert was the pear panna cotta which was way too sweet(which honestly is saying something since he loves desserts and sugar). If this was based off just my experience, I would say this would be a 3* place. With my bf’s experience mixed in… it’s more like a 2.5* Disappointing, but I guess we can try again another day?

3 course meal cost 15 dollars in a John Howie restaurant, I think that pretty much said it :) You need to try it ! Food are so pretty and delicious taste. Service is awesome too. Nice enviroment. And it is inside Microsoft campus!

This is a John Howie restaurant located in one of the Microsoft buildings. The deal is $ 15 for a three course lunch. The tax is included. Each course has its choices, and the menu rotates. Their butternut squash soup was divine, except the cup that they put it in was so tiny. It looked like one of those three ounce espresso cups. The soup was rich and buttery. The mac and cheese was very filling. I actually thought the dish could have used more salt. It was very cheesy but not salty if that makes sense. The finishing course was a choice between a savory and a sweet dish. The sweet dish was this chocolate mousse with candy cane. The savory was, I don’t even know what it was. I saw banana chips and some spicy mango but I wasn’t really sure what was the third item on the dish. The portions are a bit tiny but I guess if you get this at an equivalent restaurant you would probably pay $ 25+

In. gredients is a sit down restaurant located in Café 34 on the Microsoft campus opened by John Howie of John Howie Steak. The menu changes every month and offers a 3 course meal for $ 15(amuse, entrée, dessert). You will need to be accompanied by a Microsoft employee, but it’s open to all once you get inside Café 34. They take reservations via email and the process is pretty awesome. It’s a small restaurant — probably seats 40 – 50 so I’d recommend reservations for larger groups. They even have a chef’s table so I need to try that at some point. We had two choices for the amuse, 4 – 5 for the entrée, and 2 for the dessert. Overall the food is pretty good — like top Seattle restaurant quality — and the décor and ambiance made me forget I was still at work! Service was fantastic and it was a great experience. I have heard that some people complain about the portion sizes and the need to order extra(e.g. bread or even 2 sets of courses for 1 person). The entrée is sized appropriately for a 3 course meal, but normally such a set includes an appetizer, not just an amuse. But overall, I was satisfied with the amount of food. Overall, an amazing addition to our food options at Microsoft!
