Café 34 is one of the recently renovated cafes on the Microsoft Redmond campus. This café is located in between buildings 34 and 35. The café layout is a bit more spaced out than some of the other nearby cafes on campus. There are two floors of dining. On the top floor, you will find a coffee bar serving Caffe Lusso coffee as well as a deli sandwich station. There is also a Techlink(IT Support) location here. The lower level is basically divided into three parts. On the north side, there is a grill area serving burgers and grilled proteins as well as a station serving meals using locally produced ingredients. There is also a street eats section offering a rotating menu of interesting items like banh mi sandwiches and different types of satay. On the south side of the lower level is a salad bar which also has a bar seating area as well as a station serving Neapolitan pizzas. In between these two areas is a sit down restaurant called In. gredients run by John Howie offering a three course meal for $ 15 in the vein of Restaurant Week. In addition to this impressive list of meal options, the café has really good ambiance. It makes good use of light, which is certainly appreciated during the more depressing months here in the Pacific Northwest. Café 34 is among the best cafes on campus and almost makes you forget that you are actually dining in a corporate cafeteria.

Tucked away behind Building 34 is the eponymous Café 34. Colorful, bright and modern. It’s a very popular café — people start rushing in at around noon, and the traffic is pretty steady until about 1:30. Café 34 is also home to Microsoft’s acclaimed ingredients restaurant. Café 34 has a number of options including a Taiwanese joint called Hometown that serves beef noodle soup and other homey dishes. For the convenience factor, the beef noodle soup is pretty good. There’s the seasoned egg, beef and some veggies to go with it. Nothing that will blow you away, but definitely hits the spot especially during a chilly day on campus. Would definitely come back!
