Brooke: We did better than that. My husband and I came in for measurements 1 month in advance. Was that not long enough? By the way, not once did I get a phone call or text.

This location of the Tux Shop is TERRIBLE! Its sad because I had an exceptional experience when we ordered the tux at the Tukwila location. My son & I went to this location of the Tux Shop to pick up his tux for Prom the next day. First of all upon entering the location they were busy but not extremely busy. They had about 4 or 5 people waiting to be helped & only 3 employees. That wasn’t a problem it was everything else afterwards. After waiting about 15 minutes to be helped one of the employees called us up & took out my son’s tux & had him try it on. Everything fit well & so we approached the register to check out and that’s when it began. As soon as he started to help us the phone rang. Instead of putting the person on the phone on hold he decided to talk to them & help them for approximately 10 minutes. Really? I’ve worked in retail & when you have someone in the store in front of you they are your priority & not the people on the phone. Nope not this guy! And the really sad part is this guy, Dave was the store manager. So after talking to & helping the individuals who called over the phone he attempted to help us again. He continued to talk to his employees and other customers while he was«trying» to help us. An interaction & visit that maybe should have taken maybe only 10 minutes at the register took over 30 minutes at the register & that doesn’t include the time my son was in the fitting room trying the tux on. While he was trying to help us I asked him a question about my son’s tux & the payment for the tux. My son was one of their reps & got 7 people to turn in the card & because he had at least 5 turned in he earned a free tux plus an additional 2 cards which would cover the upgrades my son selected. I was told that by the other representative at the Tukwila location & confirmed with Dave as well. I was told by the Tukwila representative when we ordered the tux that any additional cards submitted would cover the upgrades & because I made a $ 40 deposit when we ordered the tux, any additional amount would be credited back into the credit card I originally used for the deposit. When I explained that to Dave he agreed & said that would be the way it would be handled & would obtain a credit back into my credit card for any overage. Fast forward 2 days when we returned the the tux… Again they were busy. No problem its a busy time of year. I waited 15 minutes to have someone look over the tux & all the items to make sure it was all there. Prior to leaving the store I asked to obtain a receipt so I would be aware of how much I should see credited back into my account. I obtained the receipt & confirmed as I did the previous time that I would see a credit back into my credit card for the overage due to the additional cards that were submitted. And this time the answer was different. The young man that was helping me… tried his best to help me but once again the store manager Dave stepped in & contradicted what he told me just 2 days prior. He said that I would not see a credit back to my credit card but instead my son would receive a check in the mail for the overage. What?! How does that make sense if I paid the $ 40 for the deposit why would my son get the money when I’m the one who paid for it?! When I told Dave that he continued to state that is how its handled, and I told him that’s not what he told me the other day. And I proceeded to leave very upset. This store is very unprofessional! Not only did I obtain terrible service & misinformation but they are not very professional & very sloppy. There was a young man that was dressed very nicely and professional but the other 2 employees, one of which was the store manager was dressed very sloppy & the other employee that was a lady was dressed in leggings and a short sweatshirt or maybe sweater. Attire that is not professional & becoming of a place that is supposed to help dress people in a formal manner. I will not return to this Tux Shop location again. Even though I live only 10 minutes from this location I will drive much further so that I don’t have to deal with and experience this poor service again. On an additional note… I contacted the Tukwila location & explained my situation & they informed me that I should have been given an option rather than being told that my son would be sent a check for the overage.

I hate to say it… but when it comes to picking between Men’s Wearhouse and The Tux Shop for tuxedos– it’s basically picking between two poisons. When I was wedding planning, I attended the annual wedding expo at the Seattle Convention Center. I visited both booths of the 2 big name vendors. So I decided to pick the lesser of the two evils — The Tux Shop. Now, here is what sold me: — Location: we are located on the Eastside and parking was never a problem. — Deals: At the time, if we rented 5 or more tuxedos, we’d get the 6th one covered. Luckily for me, my groom had 6 groomsmen + him, so we worked it out where my groom didn’t have to pay. — Incentives: The bride got a little somethin somethin; I got a gift card to either Target or Victoria’s Secret after the tux rentals were completed. On top of that, we got a free cruise on Norwegian Cruise lines. When I put down the deposit to hold my reservations with them, I put money down a year in advance. The guy who helped me — Andrew, he’s super nice and very informative, he told me I didn’t need to reserve that far in advance. But I work in check list style, I just wanted to cross this item off my list and make sure it’s taken care of now instead of later. When I initially met Andrew, I expressed to him my expectations: — Timing: I said, I wanted to make sure the tuxes arrive on time and if any mistakes were made, I’d want room to be able to fix/replace anything we might encounter so that when DAYOF wedding arrives, every piece of the tuxedo is good to go. — Flexibility: All of the groomsmen were not local; 5 were out of state and 1 was located in New Zealand. I asked Andrew, what can I do to make this process seamless? He told me I can go online to their website and download the form and have the guys go to any tuxedo fitter to measure them(measuring SHOULD be free and I was very emphatic to the guys that they should not be charged for measurements). Then I had the guys send me the forms and I’d hand deliver it to Andrew. Andrew also said that the guys can also just email or call into the shop with their measurements to him. But I decided to take the route of having the guys go through me so I can help keep the guys on a timeline(yah yah, sounds like I’m a control freak but when it comes to planning my wedding, I went into project management mode, I CARE that much). — Quality: I understand these are rentals. I help picked out every single item of clothing since my groom wasn’t too sure what to wear. I took into account what the other guys were asking for and made sure I accommodated every one of them. Communications and updates of pricing occurred throughout the year(via phone and email) up until 3 weeks before the wedding date. I scheduled an appointment and went into the shop to have a chat with Andrew and finalize all details. I checked to make sure everybody had measurements in and pricing was finalized. The guys could come in to pick up their tuxes 3 days before the wedding date. All of the guys tried on their tuxes and we had 4 mishaps– one guy had a shirt sized too big, one had the wrong pants, one had the wrong sized jacket and one had the wrong vest. But I didn’t worry because I knew that with this 3 day leeway we still had time to replace these items. With Andrew’s help, all of the items were replaced timely and everything else was smooth. I didn’t encounter any bad bumps or customer service because I had great help from Andrew and didn’t have to worry about anymore mishaps. 5 Stars for customer service because of Andrew — he was super helpful, accommodating and very timely. I was kind and respectful to him and in return he was also kind and respectful to me. 4 Stars for the quality of the tuxes, these are rentals so you can’t expect spectacular quality cuts or fabrics. The name brands don’t really resonate with me, I cared how they looked and as long as the tuxes didn’t have holes/tears/rips, then we are happy customers.

I have almost nothing good to say about this business: they delivered the tuxedo, that’s it. Now the bad part: first of all, the customer service is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Because of the bad treatment we received from an employee named Daniel, we only rented 2 out of the original 4 tuxedos we were going to rent. We went to try the 2 tuxedos 2 days before the wedding, and they didn’t have the correct type of shirt for one of the tuxedos; we tried it anyway, since we were told that the final one would be exact same size but with the actual style we wanted. We asked if we needed to try it the following day(1 day before the wedding) and they said no. The final tuxedos were picked up and the day of the wedding arrived; when we tried to wear them, the shirt that we couldn’t try in the store because they didn’t have the proper style didn’t even button up; it was way to small in the neck area so the top button would not even reach. We had to swap the shirt with the other tuxedo which was for a different body type; this resulted on a baggy shirt for one and an almost-suffocating shirt for the other. The following day, when returning the tuxedos, we expected some kind of compensation, but all we got was the same employee(Daniel) telling us that«the top button wasn’t necessary because the tie would cover it if we left it unbuttoned»… he never said he was sorry for the inconvenience or anything like that. We requested to talk to his manager and we got a card with his number(he was already gone). When we called the following day, Andrew, the store manager, answered. We had to spend more than 30 minutes explaining to him that we couldn’t even close the top button of the shirt, and yet, he kept giving us excuses. Not even once he said that he was sorry for the inconvenience. He made us argue for almost 1 hour. Avoid this tuxedo shop by all means… it’s probably impossible to find any tuxedo rental store with worse customer service and with such bad employees.
