Beware Leonardo’s is not at 1406 Pacific Hwy. Its a new deli with different menu. Good not great.

Leonardo’s has great sandwiches. However, it has moved. It is now called Finch’s Kitchen at the Ocean Club in the Redondo Beach Condominium complex above the Redondo Beach pier. Go search for it. You’ll be happy that you did.

Today they get one star from me based on service and attitude from the chubby black haired girl. I came in, no-one there. She starts my sandwich, toasts the bread, puts on the oil, sets out the meat and takes a 15 minute call. Not only does she take the call, she puts her back to everyone. As I’m waiting for my sandwich I watch 6 customers come in and line up. Not once did she ever turn around and acknowledge anyone. A guy finally came our from the back. I asked, «is my sandwich almost done(hint hint)?» He looked at it and said, «almost.» He then went on to assist the 6 customers she ignores while on the phone. Periodically he would try to get her attention as he clearly needed help but each time she would turn her back to him more. The punch line… After 15 minutes she gets off the phone. I ask, is that toasted bread that’s been sitting there going to get for my sandwich because it’s been sitting so long it’s cold? She said yes, and in a snippy tone, the meat is cold anyway! It then took her literally 20 seconds to finish my sandwich that she slapped down on the counter. So much for hiring people who can multitask with a smile.

Nice staff, very friendly. The veggie wrap was good, basic, and they were out of one ingredient so I subbed SPINACH for it which is fine, because I love spinach anyway! I would HIGHLY recommend some sort of SAUCE on it though, the sandwich alone has ZERO flavour.

Ordered the Got Married sandwich via Unilocal.Woohoo! Who knew ordering in advance on my Unilocal app on my phone would be that easy. I ordered the Got Married sandwich. I couldn’t help but smirk when she asked me, «Got Married?» and I replied YES(although I’m dating and haven’t made that move yet). I just sounded weird answering that question for me. Lol. Anyways, I always order a large sandwich whenever there’s an option because I love sandwiches. Got Married sandwich: Meatball, sausage and cheese w/marinara sauce on a toasted french roll was delicious. I love the bread toasted but if I had to change anything I would cut the sausage in half and put the meatball on top of it so you can taste the all of the meat in each bite. The sausage is on one side and the meatball on the other with cheese and marinara all over. I gotta come back to try some more and if they are just as good, I’ll update and add another star. I can’t simply give more than 3 stars after tasting only 1 sandwich. Also, I wish the menu on their app was updated because one in the store had more sandwiches which sounded very scrumptious.

Certainly nothing to make me want to return. The place seems dirty and was very warm inside. The sliced turkey is the usual fast food stuff served everywhere and it is weighed out so not sure why people thought they were so big. I tasted more bread then anything else but at least the bread was fresh. Probably do subway instead and they are no great shakes.

What I love most about Leonardo’s is the tasty meat that they pile on generously and the warm bread that they use for their sandwiches. I decided to try their capicola and turkey sandwich. Their capicola has a fantastic flavor with just the right amount of spiciness. Their turkey was very tender and lean. I ordered mine with lettuce, tomato, mustard, pickles and pepperocini’s on the side. The only thing I was a bit disappointed in was that they gave me the top part of the tomato that had the tough texture from the vine. I wish more sandwich places would be more conscious of this and not put those tops or bottoms of the tomatoes in my sandwich. It ruins the whole sandwich, and I always check my tomatoes before eating it. Some places I can catch them putting the tomatoes in the sandwich, but this place I could not, as its not made directly in front. Their pepperocini’s were tender and delicious and they did de-stem those, so kudos there. I also like the splash of red wine vinegar that was on the sandwich. Overall, a very tasty sandwich and friendly sandwich specialists.

We had Pastrami and«Just Married» meatball & sausage sandwiches. They tasted pretty good but little skimpy on the meat and sauce. I like my meatball sandwich with dripping marinara sauce.

Solid sandwich place located on PCH. We parked on the street(no meters where we parked). Most of the sandwiches are between $ 6-$ 8. They are a pretty good size too. I tried the 90277(Roast beef, ham, salami, onions, pepperoni, avocado, mayo & cheese). The sandwiches are served on bread that is freshly toasted and warm when you get it. The only problem is that if you are a slow eater, the second half of the sandwich will be cold by the time you get to it. The staff was very nice and when we went, there was no line at all. The meat seems to be fresh and overall, the sandwiches are delicious.

Best sandwiches around!!! has a deal with them if you spend $ 22.50 you get $ 15 off so we checked them out because from the front you would never know its anything special walking by but they had the best French dip I have ever had! I even told my husband I don’t think I will ever order one anywhere else because it won’t even compare to Leonardo’s. The bake the bread fresh and put some kind of garlic spread on and it is fantastic! I would suggest this place to everyone! My husband got a pastrami sandwich and loved it too! The pesto pasta was good but the sandwiches are the best!

Lil gem located close to the beach. The bread was nice and crusty(my fave), the meats tasted good. The chicken Caesar salad was light and fresh, the chicken seasoned well. Pickles don’t come status-quo on the sub, but next time i’ll ask for them :) Perfect place to stop and pickup lunch for the beach :)

It was a Saturday afternoon and my family and i wanted to go somewhere close to home, so we stopped by Leonardo’s Deli. i have to agree with the other reviewers about the bread. The french roll was flaky and was toasted perfectly. My son and i had the BLT. My husband had the pulled pork(only avaliable on Sat. and Sun.) and we both agreed about the bread and how decent the size was for a sandwich for the price. The sandwiches are between $ 6 to $ 8 dollars but you pay for what you get. It’s not like Subway at ALL That’s for sure! it’s better than Subways and there is no empty fillers. We would go again and very soon.

My partner and I are extremely pleased with the service and quality of the food. The combo of ingredients are just right and the employees are terrific. It’s my favorite spot now. Hooray for Leo’s!

My boyfriend and I came in here to grab some sammies before heading down to the beach. We were the only people in the place and yet it took so long to get our sandwiches. I watched the guy fumbling around with them for 20 minutes. It’s not that I’m impatient or in a hurry, but I can see him making them and maybe he should let someone that can actually make the sandwiches have a go at it instead. The prices seemed high to me, but I can accept that if it’s going to be a killer sandwich. It was not. Is was plain and boring and cost too much. Oh well, next time we’ll know to try somewhere else!

I rode my new bike to get their special of the day– turkey sammich. Under $ 6 and another stamp on my frequent diner card. I usually rip off pieces on the edges of my bread to the innards so as not to take in any extra carbs. Yes, I’m that person. No such thing with Leonardo’s Deli. Their bread is fresh with a nice outer crust, soft on the inside. They bake it for a minute to make your bread even more crisp. Every bite was worth it. My sandwich was loaded with a generous amount of sliced turkey and veggies. For their quality and size it’s a great deal. The sammie made my ride back that much more enjoyable.

I’ve ordered the turkey/swiss on a roll a few times here, but I always get it on wheat or pumpernickel. No matter… it’s delish. All of the ingredients taste fresh, including the avocado that I think is a «must have» ingredient on a sandwich. The owner is a super nice guy, too. I will continue to eat here. Yummy.

The sandwiches I’ve had at the 4 – 5 times I’ve been to Leonardo’s are among the best I’ve had in the area. The bread is just perfect, all the ingredients mix together perfectly, and every single time I’ve gone I’ve left very satisfied. Minus points for what someone touched on before — the staff does often seem disinterested, like you’re inconveniencing them by actually wanting to order something. And the place could be cleaner. But the sandwiches themselves are top notch.

The sandwiches are decent.: generous size, fresh ingredients and good bread. I have come here twice and gotten the meatball parmigiana sub both times. They take forever to make the sandwiches. I could have taken a nap and there wasn’t anybody in front of me in line. They have daily specials which are priced very fairly. I think the regular price for a sandwich is a bit high however with a small sandwich and drink easily approaching $ 10. I deduct a star for price and a star for speed, other then that they are decent stop for a lunchtime sandwich, 3 stars.

***Sighs*** Another $ 8 down the drain. I should just visit Monterey Park next Friday(8÷8÷08) and get some good karma from someone there because I seem to waste money when it comes to eights. I saw the 5 stars of the other Unilocalers and that swayed me(Lesson learned here. 5 stars from a small number of Unilocalers doesn’t necessarily make it a good place). Leonardo’s is located on PCH about a quarter of a mile north of Palos Verdes Blvd. Street parking, yuck. I walked in and fear gripped me. I normally visit various eateries around the South Bay for lunch and usually there is someone as old as me there also. Someone with a tie(like me), or at least a older person. Nope. There was a couple sitting together that appeared to be in their early 30’s but the rest of the people there seemed to be leaving their teen years. I ordered the French Dip large sub(picture included). They were out of large sub rolls so they made up for this by putting the same amount of meat in the small one I purchased… OK by me. The sandwich didn’t deliver. It just didn’t. Even the au jus didn’t seem to have any redeeming quality. It was like brown flavored water. And I felt like a dumbass for once again getting held up for $ 8. The daily specials won’t even bring me back. Monterey Park, here I come.
