Bad food, bag service, bad management — what else to say…

Our waiter on Sunday was really great. He was attentive, nice and helpful. I hated my soup(tasted like warmed up bbq sauce mixed with oil and water) and tried to choke it down but then decided why bother. He apologized and took it off the bill and was still really nice about it whereas some waiters get annoyed and huffy. Thanks for that and wish I had gotten his name to personally thank him on here. Free ample parking in the structure. I’ll be back, just know now not to get the soup. Heard the enchiladas were pretty good from my dining companion.

Just on their Brussels sprouts and carne asada. Boy they are salty!!! Atmosphere can be fun but dang those salty food took the fun out of it. Especially the Brussels sprouts. I could not even taste the sprouts! Just salty flavor is too overwhelming. I do need to try their happy hours and their drinks. I’ll leave it as 2 stars for now.

We spent the last 2 weeks together and saw each other almost every day. The night before, I rushed to get there on time at 11:58pm. Just in time, I thought. The day was filled with electricity and chance. We sat there on New Year’s Day and made a list of all of the things we were going to accomplish this coming year. The conversation reminded me of someone I once knew. The food was great. I loved the margaritas. Will be back.

Soo yummy! Went twice in one week. Ordered the same thing both times — flour carne asada tacos. Mmm Mm! I couldn’t resist eating all of them. So flavorful & yummy. Down a star from the chips and salsa. The salsa is was too peppery without much other flavors. I LOVE the décor of the restaurant. Truly amazingly decorated.

I went there on Wednesday night for dinner with a large group(20+). I ordered the Tierra y Mar dish which was their version of surf and turf. The skirt steak was delicious and cooked medium-well as ordered. The corn chimichurri garnish/topping was perfect. The shrimp was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. The only negatives were the rice and guacamole. Some rice was hard and dry perhaps unevenly cooked. The guac was bland and not tasty at all.

Coolest place ever… They have a large selection of tequilas… 120 of them and amazing food! Great service too and their tortillas are handmade, in-house! The short-rib tacos were great, the chicken taquitos were delishh. We also had the Tour de Tacos… Really good too, they give you 5 different tacos in one plate, decent size tacos too.

Had lunch here with a friend today after going to a nearby hiking trail. Our server was quick and friendly. We never had to wait to place an order because she was always checking in on us. I had the chicken taco trio and the tortilla soup. Everything was delicious AND affordable. I would totally reccomend this place to anyone looking for great Mexican food and excellent service!

When we walked in the door we were greated right away and taken to our table. As soon as we were seated we were given chips and salsa and the waiter asked our drink order. Upon looking around I noticed the décor!!! Soooo cute I love it!!! The Mexican skulls everywhere, three bar tvs, dim lighting, just super funky!!! We ordered the street corn for the appetizer, my husband ordered the short rib torta and I the skirt steak and shrimp. All were delicious!!! So much flavor in everything and my steak was super tender!!! My dry or tough at all. The service was great as well. Me and my husband will be back to try the other things on the menu. Definitely worth it!!!

Never noticed this restaurant until sunday lol. Customer service was great… got seated promptly. I ordered the taquitos hecho a mano and they were great! Taquitos weren’t very crunchy like other places so I could actually enjoy every bite. I ordered an Horchata to drink, they bring it with the cup filled up with ice so in like five gulps the Horchata was gone and still had the whole cup full of ice. Ihad to continue reordering my drink lol take it easy on the ice guys.

I had been to Ortega 120 a few times for drinks, and like a true foodie-bastard, thought the food might not be good because of all of the trendy Mexican décor(luchador masks, velvet paintings, etc). I went last Saturday and loved everything I had: a spicy mango margarita and the Tour de Tacos(made with freshly made tortillas!) plate. My gf got the duck chilequiles, which was also pretty great. The service was also very good. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I realize now that the décor is a labor of love and not the result of an investment group trying to hide mediocre food in fancy surroundings. I was wrong… just this once. :)

First time here: Lunch by the fireplace: 3 tacos(lunch menu — 3 for 3 for $ 10) –(not bad) Burrito de la casa w chicken(really good, said my friend) Chicken tortilla soup(super good) So we sat by the fireplace, this late afternoon. Just my luck, I sat on a wooden chair that had a pertruding nail on it. I didnt notice until my jeans were embedded trying to get up. So be cautious. Food came out quick. After that, our servers lagged a bit. When I say a bit, I mean 15−20mins after we finished eating. Oh but the server had a full on conversation w other ppl that just came. And the check came quicker than the speed of sound. Hmmm priorities, I guess. Maybe a comeback spot… I mean eh, if I’m in the neighborhood n don’t mind being ignored.

I love this place. This says a lot since I am super critical over Mexican food. I love the horchata(I think its made from scratch). the tortilla chips with salsa are incredible. I order the enchiladas rojas sensillas, which are incredible. Same thing with the mexican rice which was made to perfection. They usually have someone making tortillas so its fresh. 10⁄10 on food overall. The service is amazing, everyone is super nice and helpful. The venue itself is a wonder, the freida khalo is beautiful, and theres alot of mexican art, the music is great. i like going for lunch but if you want to bring a date, dinner would be a good time to go or go for happy hour there is a bar and yah

What a cool looking Mexican restaurant and bar, reminds me a little bit of Pink Taco. It was our Mexican food Sunday so we picked this place, I think I like Mexican food a little too much! Loved the menu, many seafood and vegetarian choices. Drink menu is pretty good too. Lots of flavored margaritas. Had a pomegranate ginger one, tequila with ginger flavor, sounds weird but it was so strong, just a bit too sweet, still liked it a lot. Starters: Chips and salsa: chips are bigger than usual, salsa was so good. Ceviche: very fresh, not sour at all, I like not so sour ceviche much better. Entrees: Carne Asada: very tender and flavorful steak, great with lime rice, hubby loved it. Trout stuffed with seafood: ohmy! Extremely tender trout fish, the seafood in it was light with nice flavors, I asked a lime rice to go with it, it was perfect. Definitely get one of those if you love fish! Dessert: Churros with hot fudge dip and ice cream, churros were fairly crunchy, I liked them alright. A great Mexican restaurant indeed, new find in South Bay and I LOVE it!

I am a chile relleno junkie and Mexican food is always my go to option when dining with a group. After visiting a sick relative in Los Angeles I pulled up my handy Unilocal app and found this local gem housed on a cute corner building in Redondo Beach. The eclectic dining area is a dimly lit with wooden tables and traditional Mexican«Dia de los Muertos» style décor. I felt like we were walking into a family owned cantina in Mexico with it’s effortless charm. Bright red walls infuse the dining area with energy so we started with a pitcher of margaritas to soften the edges. Our friendly server offered samples of their skinny and traditional margarita mixes, both of which used juice instead of sweet and sour. When he returned, he poured a carafe of tequila in tableside, no pre-made margaritas here! The delicious spinach, mushroom potato taquitos that we shared came topped with guacamole, cheese and a pickled red onion. Our table ordered both the vegetarian and pork rellenos, baja fish tacos, a wet burrito and a pork torta. The generous portions made everyone happy! Our server went out if his way to make sure that everyone got side orders that they liked and even let me have vegetarian black beans instead of rice. If they had cole slaw they might just have earned all 5 stars! My plump poblano chile relleno came stuffed with gooey melted cheese, pine nuts and raisins over a lovely brown sauce. This is my favorite preparation instead of traditional deep fried chiles. We all decided on another pitcher of margaritas and enjoyed the comfort and service at Ortega 101. I will definitely be back!

Free Parking: park in the garage on the right of the restaurant. Watch out for parking signs and restrictions on spaces inside. Came here for a friend’s birthday party. The interior is cool and dimly lit. Covered with day of the dead themed artwork and other interesting paintings. Started off with free chips and salsa. Salsa had a lot of flavor and was one of those thin liquidy salsas. Personally I prefer a thicker chunkier salsa but the taste was very good. Ordered the salsa verde which was delicious! Larger portion I couldn’t finish all of it. The salsa verde was delicious and it came with beans and rice. The star of the show were the mango margaritas. Order a whole pitcher(good for 8 – 10 drinks) for the best deal. We had the mango which was delicious… you could taste the fresh fruit and it was very smooth. They have other flavors such as strawberry, regular, etc. Overall, tasty Mexican food with a very funky and cool interior. A bit on the pricy side for entries ~$ 20-$ 30 compared to normal Mexican food pricing but a great place to have a party/date.

**GOODFOOD, NOTSOGOODSERVICE** 3.5 stars to be exact. But I will round it down this time instead of up. PARKING ======== Garage. Wasn’t sure which spots were designated to the restaurant patrons, so we parked as «guests». AMBIANCE ========= Sat in the«covered» outdoor patio. String lights and rustic Mexican décor. Eclectic people from families to couples. Beware, sitting outside can be very loud with neighboring party tables. FOOD ===== GUACAMOLE Avocados, red onion, cilantro, lime, and queso fresco was creamy and small portioned. For $ 8, I expected more. Ordered this as an appetizer, but our waiter forgot TWICE. After 45 minutes, it finally came out with the main entrees. Not cool. RICE Nice red rice to go with the main dishes. Fluffy and flavorful. RATING: 4⁄5 BEANS Looked like Hormel’s chili beans but actually tasty. RATING: 4⁄5 MOLENEGRODEPOLLO Roasted half chicken, house made mole, with toasted sesame seeds, cilantro, with pickled red onion and white rice was very good. Not a mole expert, but liked it. Nicely flavored with solid sauce. And loved that corn on the cob! Enough for leftovers. RATING: 4⁄5 BEVERAGE ========= FROZENCOCONUTMARGARITA Too sweet. RATING: 3⁄5 SERVICE ======= Bummed about my overall experience here. Service was lacklustre after forgetting our guacamole order TWICE. Took 45 minutes for our main entrees to come out. Our waiter did not stop by to tell us that it would take so long. Snacking on chips and salsa for 45 minutes was brutal(as we waited for the guacamole that never arrived). I mentioned to the front staff that it was my husband’s birthday. They told me that they would do something for him. But guess what, they didn’t. NADA. RATING: 2⁄5 OVERALL ======= Everyone enjoyed their main dishes. It’s too bad the service did not match the food experience. RECOMMEND if it’s not too busy. Unfortunate customer service for us, but maybe next time, it will be better.

Excellent ambience! The bartender was very attentive, good thing we sat at the bar. Delicious Brussel Sprouts, a little salty Guac but it was really fresh and tasty, ceviche del mar was also good. ESPICYMANGOMARGARITA is a must-have here. I also tried their 120POMEGRANATEMARGARITA. Overall, a great spot to meet up with friends, even large group is possible!

I set up an event here for some of my customers. Set it up for drinks and appetizers. Prior to my guests arriving I decided to have some dinner. Sat down with a couple of my friends and had some chicken enchiladas, chips and salsa, guacamole. The guacamole was additive and chips and salsa were fantastic. Great starter prior to my event. Overall the service was fantastic too. For my event we had a number of different appetizers and had beer and margaritas. the margaritas were really well done. For appetizers we had this Brussels Sprouts dish that was to die for. Also had chips, salsa and a huge variety of different tacos. The food overall was well done and very flavorful. The service to our event was top notch. We reserved the outside patio and it was semi-open with heaters in case it gets chilly at night. It was the correct temp. Lighting was dim and made for a good atmosphere. Like I said the service was top notch. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our group was well taken care of. When I received the overall bill for dinner, I was surprised to see how low it was. The head of service told me they were only serving what was needed and did not want us to overpay for unused food. I thought that was very thoughtful. They definitely earned my future business.

Struggling with this one… Borderline 5 stars for me. Held back for one reason as they wouldn’t let my daughter, son-in-law and my two grandbabies hold the table while we were in transit. Could have been Cinco de Mayo tho… So last night was my,(our), first ever visit to O-120 and I wondered to myself… How the fuk is that? Seriously… HOWTHEFUKISTHAT? I’ve driven by this place more times than Bayer has aspirin… Never even noticed the joint. A suggested meal spot,(suggested by my daughters), for my wifey’s «family» retirement dinner /party. And, on of all days… Tada… Cinco de Mayo. Holy $hit!!! Initial perception of the place was«Oh Hell Yeah… this place is pumpin’» but that may have been the Cinco de Drinko crowd. A loud, festive, celebrative batch of peeps, both young and old, easy, and not so easy on the eye,(I fall into the latter category, the wife in the former), with a decorative aura that really set the tone, not only for the retirement festivities but more specifically, for Drinko de Mayo. The Cisco Kid was showing on the big screen, sugar skulls throughout, an alter to «pay homage to the dead» and religious artifacts prevailed. An orgasmic feast for the eyes… With all that came a large bar area,(of which I did not visit, but patronized nonetheless) as well as plenty of seating for those feeling the need to feed the belly beast. We were sat at one on the«bench tables» near the restrooms, which was just fine with us, because the adult beverages were going through us like a hot knife does butter. Anywho… There was 11 of us and the big«bench table» suited us just fine. Chips,(huge sons o’ guns they were), and salsa were free flowing from the start. We started with 2 orders of the«Gorditas de Jenns» appetizer, absurdly delicious little suckers packed with short rib beef that melts in your mouth, layered on a bed of guacamole that while not spicy like I prefer, was without a doubt insanely delish. I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes with the shrimp which was absolutely, astronomically, scrumptious!!! The green chili it’s smothered in has an ever so slight kick to it with a smokey, roasty /toasty type flavor that’s hard to beat. Seriously, I’d have to say they were the best enchiladas I’d ever had. All the entrees came with rice and beans served«family style» and both while good, couldn’t match the ridiculously flavorful enchi’s… And for only $ 14.95. Service was on point, speedy and attentive throughout our stay. BTW… The house Margarita is pretty damn good,(as is the Peach Margarita), which is what the wifey was ordering. Wanted oh so badly to try the tequila flight but I promised the wifey I’d be a «good» boy,(she’s heard that $hit before, lol), and nonetheless resisted the never ending, overwhelming urge to go rogue… Maybe next time because THEREWILLBE a next time!!!
