I was excited to visit this place this evening and was disappointed. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and we waited 30 mins for our entrees. Service was nothing to be excited about. Never even heard the specials so assumed they had none but another set of customers heard them. We started off with the savory appetizer which looked nothing like the picture shown in other reviews. It was ok, would not say good. The calamari was not good. It was chewy and lacked flavor. The chicken stew was alright but again not yummy. I ordered the fish poppeite(sp). The rice was not edible, the flounder was over cooked and the crabmeat it was stuffed with was not even backfin or lump. The spinach on the other hand was delicious. We came here due to a groupon offer which many others had so that offer certainly is working for them. Unfortunately I cannot say I will be visiting here again, groupon or not.

A group of us went on Christmas eve. One of the few restaurants that were open. The owner was there making sure everything was perfect. The food was excellent. They make the best caiparanhia(sp?) that I have tasted since I was in Brazil. The house made guacamole was fantastic. We scarfed that up so fast it was was so good! We loved the mixed appetizer platter. My son ordered a chicken dish stew sort of thing he said it was great I had a mixed grill of steak sausage and shrimp. It was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yuck! I had some coconut soup. It came cold. The waiter was very accommodating, tho a bit frenetic. The plantains were dry and cold. I exchanged them for some calamari, which was very fresh. I also ordered tea. He brought me Earl Grey, which was odd to me. I was tired, I didn’t care. My friend had black bean soup w no beans. Maybe that’s how it was supposed to be. I had read the reviews and thought this would be far better than it was.

Delicious and authentic food with friendly, helpful service. Excellent pineapple and strawberry caipirinhas. The best black beans and rice I ever have had l; they served it with a seasoned cassava flour that was amazing. We also tried their assorted appetizer, which included cheese balls and various empanadas stuffed with minced meat, beans and cheese, and hearts of palm. The appetizer plate also featured a mashed potato ball stuffed with cod — delicious! Highly recommend.

This place is wonderful! The ambiance, décor, menu, & service was great. They have a formal dining room, a private dining room, and an awesome/elegant outside dining room. I was delighted to see that they also have an amazing dj booth, dance floor, and sound system with a Brazilian and international entertainment calendar. I give Lula Brazil Restaurant 5 Stars! This is what I had. Salgadinhos!(Little savory appetizers) Coxinha — chicken Empadinha — hearts of palm Pastel — w./ yucca flour Esfirra — meat paddy Pao de queijo — cheese bread w./ Yucca flour And for dessert I had: Quindim — coconut custard(traditional Brazilian recipe) Brigadeiro — Brazilian chocolate truffle Delicious! Thank you for a wonderful dining and musical experience in a very clean, well decorated, and delicious place! I look forward to dining and dancing here again in the future! Thank you very much(Muito obrigado), Matt

The best thing we had was the martinis. I can overlook the wrong temps on the burgers(all came out well done), but the hair in the burger could not be ignored. Nothing Brazilian about this place. Big disappointment.

My wife and I love this place. The pichanna(steak) is delicious. One thing I get every time I go is the Brazilian burger it’s the best burger I have ever eaten. The owner is super nice and she speaks portuguese. If you are in the mood for Brazilian or ready to try something new give Lula Brazil a try.

Outstanding meal with great service. We went with a party of seven, and had fantastic service. I had the scallops which were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The cocktails were a hit at the table.

Great service and food. Nice selection; I had trouble deciding between many appealing options. We had the catch of the day, and it was prepared well plus included South American favorites like plantains and beans & rice. We had a birthday in our party, and they helped us celebrate. This is a solid dinner option when in Rehoboth.

The food is decent, good but also quite average. In Rehoboth, there are so many good restaurants, and unfortunately, this just doesn’t hit the mark(in my opinion.) Our server was nice and the service was quick. the prices were fair. but the food was just average: The palm salad was pretty bad with a watery dressing, and some very bad hearts of palm. The calamari were average. The highlight of the dinner was the seafood stew was actually pretty good! Nice selection of fish and well prepared. Don’t get the fried plantains, the plantain was clearly not ripe, and was not sweet at all. I’ve had plantains before, but never have they been so hard and bitter as the one here was.

Loved this place! The food and the service were great(the caipirinhas were perfect!!) I think we made friends with everyone there, two lovely servers and the owner, Meg. Oh, and the décor is also really cute. We will definitely be coming back next summer! I told my family I wanted to go somewhere with seafood and that we couldn’t find at home. I studied abroad in Brazil so when we found this place I definitely wanted to try it! In my opinion, all our dishes were more sophisticated versions of classic Brazilian(Northeastern) cuisine. We got the seafood stew(moqueca) and it was lighter and fresher than what I’d had in Brazil. Other family members got the shrimp and fish(both looked fresh and simple. Grandma raved about the flavor in her shrimp dish) and a salad. For dessert we got the fruit & sorbet, the chocolate cake, and the passion fruit mousse. I have been missing passion fruit so that was great! The fruits in the parfait were really fresh and grandma was happy there was a dairy-free option that was actually yummy. Note: This would be a great choice for people looking for a dairy– and/or gluten-free option. My grandma is severely allergic to milk and she could eat most things on the menu.

We noticed Lula Brazil last week, on the list of restaurant week restaurants, and though we didn’t have time to fit in a dinner, we did have lunch on Friday. I have spent years in Brazil, and love Brazilian food, so I was optimistic about having a good Brazilian restaurant in one of our favorite vacation towns. My wife and I both had the Brazilian crab soup and the Moqueca de peixe, camarão, e mexilhões. The soup was sublime. It was wonderfully creamy — coconut milk — and smooth as silk. The flavors were subtle and delicious. The moqueca was also outstanding, as good as anything I’ve had in any Brazilian restaurant anywhere. It was served with a separate bowl of rice and farofa, and was brilliant. Everything was absolute perfection. The restaurant is helped by having a lovely owner, Meg, who clearly developed a passion for Brazilian food while she was an exchange student there a number of years ago, and while we were there last week we could take advantage of the culinary expertise of Yara Roberts, the well-known Brazilian chef who has been working with Meg on the menu. It was only lunch, and we left town the next morning, but it will be our first stop on our next trip to Rehoboth.

It’s our third time here as we ate here twice during the soft opening at the end of season. As always we were excited to eat here. The experience was inconsistent. Dean ordered the stuffed flounder and I ordered the seafood stew. My stew was delicious and savory with only a few modifications to make it gluten-free. What we love about Lula Brazil is most dishes are made fresh, so they are wonderful at accommodating dietary restrictions. I would order this every time without a second though or moment’s hesitation: it’s a stellar dish that’s beautifully presented. The scents of coconut, saffron and pepper are just magical. Husbear’s was less magical. As he says«the part that wasn’t overcooked was delicious». Someone in the kitchen has a notion we want crispy, burnt flounder. No, we don’t. Stop it right now. The manager was uncommonly gracious, as you’d expect in a better restaurant like this. Of course we’ll be back. Every great ship has a few tweaks in its maiden voyage. We look forward to many years of dining here.

Lula Brazil is an amazing addition to the Rehoboth scene. We came in as a party of 8 and were given tremendous and attentive service by our waiter. We started off with drinks which were perfectly made and then moved onto appetizers of Calamari and assorted Tapas. I ordered the Seafood drew with shrimp for my meal which was incredible. Rich flavors, but not too thick. Another member ordered the Swordfish and she is not much of a white fish fan, but said it was awesome. The mixes grill was ordered as well and my friends said the steak was amazing and perfectly cooked. One of the best they have ever had. The atmosphere was great and towards the end the DJ started playing to give it a great Brazilian ambiance. Our server was so full of knowledge about the food and drinks, we were all quote impressed. The owner also stopped by to introduce herself and the restaurant. It was such a nice touch. We will return again and again and look forward to our next visit. Don’t miss the chance to try this great new addition!

Heart of palm risotto was excellent(although I think they forgot to add the cashews) My companions had the chicken stew and both enjoyed it. We shared yucca fries and honey sweetened fried plantains, which were awesome. The staff was very friendly and the service was prompt. Our water was constantly refilled without having to ask, which was much appreciated since we were hydrating for a marathon the next morning. The atmosphere was clean and cuisine appropriate.

This is closer to 4.5 stars to me. Lula Brazil has bright and lively décor(inside and out!), and those characteristics are reflected in the outstandingly friendly, efficient, attentive, and helpful staff. [The night we went they also had an excellent DJ from«Spinjocs».] The caipirinhas are excellent, from decent-size menu of mixed drinks. The food was also excellent — plentiful, full of flavor, and creative. I thoroughly enjoyed my risotto with hearts of palm, but the true standout was the crab-stuffed swordfish that friends ordered(and that I stole several bites of). I will definitely return the next time I’m in Rehoboth!

Anyone there from Brazil? From servers to hostesses, I saw no Brazilians and the food reflects the same. Bland flavors, forget the feijoada, which is supposed to be a national dish. Blandness to the max. Wife’s black bean soup was cold and calamari was missing the lime sauce. WTH? This place is a disaster. To the other reviewers, WTH does cute décor have to do with good food? This place is a dump. Save your money and frustration.
