The food was fantastic! They had amazing steak and BBQ. The Mac and cheese is a MUST. Service was quick and great! I really hope to come to the area again soon so I can come again.

Went in for fathers day… What a let down. I heard from a local it was agood spot but Im guessing they meant the bar. We were put on a 20 min wait with plenty of open tables. Beatrice was our server and was not very helpful. It was prime rib night and she didnt know about temps for meat. We waited about 20 mins for salad another 20 for an overcooked piece of meat. Terrible service from host to server. I would never let my staff run my restaurant like this. My food was overcooked and bland my wifes meal was ok. Plenty of other places to go dont waste your time and money on something you can get at applebees for half the price

I’ve had a lot of crab cakes this week, these were the worst. The bread wasn’t edible, the crab was sparse, a lot of filling. I had nachos, wish I hadn’t. Their veggie pasta was pretty tasty with nice crispy fresh veggies and fresh pasta.

Let me start by saying the food here is very good. The atmosphere changes drastically at night. We dined around lunch once and really enjoyed it. Another evening, we went for dinner and were shocked to find it was more like a club than a restaurant. The music was VERY loud and there was plenty of people-watching that could be done. It was really quite vulgar actually, as some middle aged lady kept going back and forth between make-out partners at the bar. We won’t be going back for dinner anymore. Lunch is good though!

Good snack and bar food! Our service was really slow, though. It took about ten minutes to even get a «hello» from the bartender. And my fiancée and I were not happy with out desserts. Most bartenders want to talk to you and socialize, ours just wanted to giggle with the other servers. The bar food was really good, but next time that’s all we’ll order.

This was our second visit to the Summerhouse. The first time we ate steak and it was delicious. This visit I went for seafood. I ordered the Crab Cakes with asparagus and Mac n cheese. The menu said their crab cakes had no fillers. They weren’t kidding. They were a little small but again it’s because of no fillers. They came with a side of tarter sauce that was very tasty. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. The Mac & Cheese was good but I wasn’t seeing/tasting the pancetta that was supposed to be in it. My son ordered the pork chops. The were nestled on a bed of mashed potatoes and were topped with gravy. The pork chops were some of the best I have ever tasted. The potatoes were smooth and creamy. The gravy was also some of the best I’ve ever had. It want thick or watery. It was the perfect consistency and added to the flavor of the chops and potatoes. My husband has shrimp and scallops in a tomato and cream sauce over linguine. The shrimp and scallops were a very nice size. The sauce was full of flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly. There wasn’t a drop left behind. Even though the food is always on pointe and should be the top reason to go eat there, this restaurant does something I’ve never seen any other restaurant do. When your server introduced themselves to you they put a note card sized piece of blue paper down on the table. It has their name on it and it is for you to review your server right then and there. That could be intimidating to some workers but you can tell these employees love working there. I think a lot more restaurants should do that.

Went on half-price burger night and had excellent ½ pound burgers with prompt, pleasant service. The sweet potato fries were delicious, and the spinach artichoke dip was incredible and came with house made tortilla chips. The wait was twice as long as stated, so make reservations early if possible!

My daughter and I stopped in for a late lunch. The food was quite good, if a bit pricey. However we will not be returning. It’s a matter of principle, not dislike. The server was delightful and, as I stated, the food was good. However I had asked for a slice of raw onion on my burger. I was surprised when I was charged extra for the onion. A restaurant that feels compelled to charge for fixings that would normally come with a burger, to me, demonstrates below average class. Clearly it wasn’t the cost(.50). It’s the principle. It was totally unnecessary. I received a reply from the management explaining that the charge was a mistake. As far as I’m concerned, the issue is closed and I would highly recommend the restaurant. They dealt with my concern in a non defensive and extremely professional manner. Kudos to the management.

To be fair, this is a 2.5 star review as I don’t think they’re bad, just need some customer service suggestions. Pros: Good snacky food, lots of TVs, large bar area good selection of drinks at a decent price. Close to beach and right on the main road so it’s easy to find. If you’re into sports, you’ll love the selection of games being broadcast. Cons: Based on a couple of visits, bar service was sketchy. Maybe they don’t staff enough people during busy times but consistently, it takes about five minutes or more to just get a hello, even when bartenders are standing right there in front of you. Granted, they’re usually doing something like making a drink but most bars I’ve been to, have bartenders who at least say hi and say, «be with you in a minute», or similar.

Been visiting Rehoboth Beach and SummerHouse since the 90s… have loved it extensively especially with 50% off burgers on Monday and always delicious drinks, foods, and service!!! Came here on my first night back in Rehoboth, Saturday of Labour Day. There was a surprisingly short wait, got seated shortly after putting name down and everything seemed normal… until my mom, who ordered Chicken Marsala(first mistake on her part for a burger/beach restaurant) and halfway thru eating it… SHEFOUND A HAIR, if not two strands in the dish!!! Because the wait staff quickly took it away and offered replacement meal or to comp it, things were settled easy and we moved on, finished our meal in peace!2

Went here tonight with a large party and we had to split into two groups so that we could avoid having a 2 hour wait for dinner. Both groups started with the crab dip appetizer which was pretty tasty and had a pleasantly large quantity such that my group of 5 could all enjoy it without having to take miniscule portions. Since Monday is half off burger night, we all ordered ½ lb burgers. The burger was cooked well and tasted good, but the bottom bun on some of our burgers disintegrated due to meat juices. A more substantive bun would do well here. Fries were undersalted and rather bland but cooked well. Toppings(bacon, sauteed onions, pepper jack cheese, and a pickle) were all tasty. The only real complaints were that our waitress forgot to put some of our drink orders in and rarely came by to fill up waters. As a side note, they could use some shades on the front windows because if you’re there during sunset you’re going to get your retinas scorched by the bright sun if you’re sitting in a window seat.

I cannot say enough great things about Summer House. I’ve been coming here since I could properly spell out the word«Rehoboth». I could rave about this restaurant all day. FOOD: I’ve had just about everything on the menu, minus pastas. Their seafood is always fresh and local, and always delicious. One of my summer favorites is the pecan crusted Mahi with raspberry salsa. They often do a lot of fish like this with different nut crusts and salsas. Always delicious. Ribs, sandwiches, crab cakes, salads– all delicious. Be sure to! ask for the ciabatta bread and cheese to eat while you wait for your food! Prices are pretty affordable too. ATMOSPHERE: No matter where you sit, it’s a great time. The bar area has ample television coverage for your favorite sport. There’s two dining rooms and the one on the sidewalk is great for people watching. I will say, it is easy to eavesdrop on other conversations or be annoyed by patrons close by(if they’re loud). Booths are nice and comfy. They make a big deal to watch your step so watch your step going up there. SERVICE: I’ve ALWAYS had good service here. We’ve had food mistakes that have been graciously resolved by the staff. Waiters and waitresses are usually seasonal but they’re always extremely friendly. A trip to Rehoboth with my family and friends is incomplete without a dinner at Summer House. I encourage everyone else to make this a staple for their group at Rehoboth every summer.

It’s not ‘gourmet’ but its friendly staff, drink offerings, reliable food, and — baked potatoes make this a great beach ‘go-to.’ After a lousy experience at one of Rehoboth Beach’s ‘high end’ restaurants, we opted to explore– landing at Summerhouse, where we had eaten on other occasions.(With advance reservations at Eden, we were very poorly treated after requesting an alternative table to the poorly-located one at which we were initially seated– leading to our departure and decision to spend our money elsewhere.) We were treated to a friendly hostess(as opposed to a very young person with inflated attitude at the other place) and were seated at a pleasant table where I didn’t have to be bumped into by others(as opposed to other seating previously suggested as ‘take it or leave it.’) The food was good, the server attentive and the bill WAY less than what we were prepared to spend at Eden! We recaptured the pleasant feeling that was lost at the high end place. Thank you Summerhouse.

GF menu though no dedicated fryer. It was a real treat to get a crab cake for lunch. Cole slaw was very good. They took my needs seriously. Friend had a turkey burger and house made potato chips she said were very good.

Summer House was recommended to me by a friend. I was not disappointed. I went for lunch on a glorious sunny day. I would have liked to eat outside but no patio dining. I had the combo salad and soup. The goat cheese with spring greens was yummy. The roasted tomato and crab soup was delicious but the sherry out powered the flavor of roasted tomato. I will return!

Summer House has excellent food and service. The staff is always attentive and meets all our requests. My family and I always eat at Summer House while we’re in the Rehoboth area which is 4 or more times a year. I just ate there on Saturday night with my family and the white chicken chili is the best tasting chili I have ever had. I usually get their delicious crab cakes but I was glad I tried something different. To top it all off the Summer House staff gives you a large pieces of butcher paper and crayons to draw while you wait for your meal. Even if I didn’t have a 5 year old that is a big plus in my book. In my perfect world, every restaurant would provide that.
