Love the atmosphere and and the friendly staff. I’m here as part of a wine walk and mentioned to the staff that this was on my bucket list. They encouraged me to come back and the art on the wall, 3D even, made me promise myself that I would. I’ll be back!

Had fun here with the ladies. Do not be intimidated if you are lacking painting skills(like me). Just be brave and follow along, and enjoy the experience. Besides, there’s wine, and food, so you’re already ahead of the game. Bring great companions and you’re sure to have a good time. They have a lot of paintings to choose from. The place is cozy, the staff are friendly, and the instructor was a hoot. I would love to come again, when my artistic side needs expressing. Hope to see you there!

Met here Sunday at 11 am for our book club. What a nice little venue. Our entire group fit around a large table and we were able to all order drinks, get a little sumpthin’ sumpthin’ to eat if we wanted, then have a lively, spirited discussion without having to scream. They were very upfront and warned our organizer that a big group was coming in to do a painting session in an hour, so we planned accordingly. I had a simple coffee for $ 2.00 and it was served in a real mug! Much appreciated that they didn’t automatically just serve it in a disposable cup. Great location on West Street meant afterwards, you could have easily had access to movie theaters, the parking lot, the river or one of the dozen or so places to eat in the neighborhood. Note that they validate for garage parking for one hour.

Great little spot for coffee and a bite to eat. Met here today with my bookclub. Had a white chocolate mocha. They use a coffee from Sacramento. The drink was delivered quickly, hot and was sweet but not too sweet. Perfect for sipping while chatting about our book. The art on the walls looks awesome. I would definitely love to return for a painting session!

Happened to pass by and decided to have a quick little bite. Was delicious. Friendly people. Cute little place for anyone who loves art. Next time I’ll bring a friend and maybe paint? That’d be great. Loved it 5 stars all the way.

LOVE Is a Art! and Yes it was February Ten Plus Four night! So cupid decided to let love rule! Another extraordinary evening at the Crafted Palette. I won their FB raffle for paint class for Valentines Day. We parked on street parking. Validated parking is also available at the 1st street parking garage. Gail, her daughter Melanie, and her son Josiah put their creative interpretation on the event. Very fun romantic night of food, music, laughters, chilled glasses of wine and painting! We started the evening with Cheese Plate, light hors d-oeuvres and topped it off with a chocolate dipped strawberries. For the lovers who wanted to spoil themselves more, full bar and a full Kitchen were open too. Very nice collection of wine & beer. I ordered the Pastrami Pretzel Sliders and some pastry. They were delish. Brilliant choice of Valentine couples painting with a great title! Each valentine created one painting. When the two painting are placed side-by-side it forms a heart inside the two swan necks. What a lovely romantic way to say«I’m very fond of You.» Based on the artists David and his lovely wife Karen instructions, couples worked very closely together. No pressure to impress each other since No experience necessary! If you can imagine the night, red lipsticks, red dresses, high heels, hugs, kisses, perfumes and cologne. LOVE is in the air! Great raffle prizes followed by live musical performances by Gregory Joseph Belle Jr, Josiah Knight, and Low La La started at 10pm. Thank You Crafted Palette for creating such was a romantic unique entertainment night away from the crowds and the smoke at the downtown Reno casinos.

One quiet Sunday night, my boyfriend and I took a painting class at Crafted Palette. I had the two-for-one groupon, which is an amazing deal. The class we took was«Happy Trees,» a Bob Ross themed class. Our instructor donned a big Afro wig and painted on a beard, and was absolutely wonderful. She had a sweet voice and patient demeanor, and was truly an amazing instructor. The other staff were incredible as well. The two gentlemen behind the bar were nice and funny, and one suggested the house Pinot Noir for me to try, which was really fantastic. The food here too, is wonderful! I had the homemade croissant with Ham and Gruyère, and I want it every day. I can definitely see myself coming back here, not only for painting nights, but for coffee and food as well.

I have been to every painting and wine class in Reno(Picasso and Wine, Reno Art Bar, and Pinot’s Pallet). I was excited to try a new venue in town. I was a groupon online and decided to give it a shot for a date night with my boyfriend. We picked a cute polar bear painting under the Northern Lights. The painting was named Polar Photobomb. I enjoyed this setting because it seemed smaller and quaint, they served food, the instructor took the class at nice pace, it had great rustic décor, and parking was validated. I called ahead to find out that we could park in the 1st street parking garage. Thats a great tip for future class goers. Food: **Pro– The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the cheese plate. It came with a variety of cheese: gruyère, havarti, brie, and goat cheese with drizzled honey. It was served with seeded crackers. I also ordered a cinnamon apple cranberry kale salad. It was out of this world. I totally recommend it!!! My boyfriend ordered the Pulet Brie sandwich, which contained pulled rotisserie chicken with melted brie, pesto mayo, red onion, and spring mix. The owner suggested a house cabernet for me to drink, which was quiet tasty, although I can’t remember the name. **Con– No menus. They ran out. They were out of the strawberries that I saw a picture of on Unilocal. They looked so tasty. Instructor: Our instructor for the night was Karen. SHEROCKED. As an art instructor, she really encouraged everyone to step out and TRY. She wanted everyone to have fun and make it their own piece of art. She had an endoscopy procedure earlier that day and still taught the class. Overall, great class. I highly recommend checking out the Crafted Palette.

What a fun night. This place is so easy to find, parking was no problem and it was a blast. We had groupon certificates for half off and decided on a sunday night. There website is really cool and easy to navigate, they show the painting they will work on that day, so you can surf the calendar till something perks your interest. The building is located on west street near the river. The parking can be difficult, since it is all street parking. We were greeted right when we entered, shown to our easels and given our brushes and paints. Before the instruction starts, you can go to the bar and order a wine, beer, coffee or soda. The instructors are so friendly, they wash away any inhibition you have about painting.(The wine also helps). This class is all about fun and learning, do not take yourself to seriously and the inner artist will appear.

Very fun but super packed. I was there for the red bird night on Dec 9, and the teacher and painting were excellent. We had an absolute blast and all left very satisfied with the evening. Venue is super adorable and spotlessly clean. Front of house needs some optimization… The line to check in literally look 20 minutes, painfully slow. Check in and food/drink orders were all handled from the same little iPad station, and it clogged up the whole event. I believe we started about 30min late(at least), which meant the night ended a lot later than I would have hoped. We also would probably have ordered double the snacks and drinks if we had been able to do so easily. 5 stars for the teacher and venue, 3 stars for the way it was run. Let’s call it an average of 4!

What a cool little place! 1st negative: parking sucks. But not the businesses fault. 2nd negative: I feel that there are way too many seats for the small location. 3rd kind of negative: where I sat last night, the light was out above me, though apparently it’s no fault of the business, the wiring is shoddy and they need to bring in an electrician. 1st positive: teacher was really great last night for the red bird canvas 2nd positive: all staff was super friendly and helpful. 3rd positive: teacher went slow enough to make sure everyone was able to get to where they needed to be. –3.5 negative that isn’t really a negative, the pacing of the class was too slow for me and seems to be a theme through all the alcohol and painting classes I’ve been to. I do understand that they’re trying to make sure all the least artistically inclined patrons make it to the end of the class with a successful beautiful piece of art to take home. It’s a great place to have a girls night, family gathering, any sort of shindig. It’s relaxing, fun, and easy to navigate between the awesomely crafted palette tables despite the fact that there are a lot of seats. I do recommend the place, but if you were comparing and contrasting, I wouldn’t recommend this place due to parking and crammed crafting space.

The hubby and I seldom do breakfast out except for Robert’s MBC. But we recently won a gift card for Crafted Palette. He’s not into the evening paint and sip, and since they open at 6am, we decided to try their breakfast. It’s a quaint small spot a block off the river downtown. Palette tables and stools for dining and painting at. I recommend sitting towards to back in the winter, when the door opens the draft can be chilly. We each ordered a mocha, which was probably one of the best I had had in quite awhile. It wasn’t overly sweet, make with a richer dark chocolate that seemed to accent the coffee with a wonderful thick creamy froth. I would definitely go back and enjoy another one soon. Our meals had nice flavors. The Croquet Madam was interesting– I’m still looking for the ones I enjoyed in France. It was a half a croissant with ham and a poached egg(cooked perfectly) and a slice of cheese, topped with a béchamel sauce. The sauce has nice flavor but looked a little like a light brown gravy. The side salad of kale and apples was tasty too. The hubby had a prepackaged waffle topped with bacon and an egg and a slice of havarti cheese. I consider these dishes«girly» food, great for the light eaters, but probably not enough for the guys. Two small plate breakfasts and two mochas was $ 25. I’ll stick with the great cup of coffee or try my hand some evening at the paint and sip. The art on the wall looked really cool for the classes.

Have absolutely no artistic talent whatsoever… it is impossible to not have success here! Walking in with my mom and one day shy of being 21 year old niece we were instantly swept into an evening of fun, Laughter, artistic expression and left with a painting that is now banging on the wall! Beverage selection for everyone from wine… coffees…teas…sodas. Lots of tempting desserts and a cheese tray of the day. I used my Unilocal coupon for the Mocha and it did not disappoint. Big mug that kept warm with the final touches of painting I did. David was an excellent«teacher». Who knew the right amount of humor as well as praise for everyone’s work. Help was there but nobody was stressing with the early flow of instruction and success. Definitely a place to return to! Book early to save your spot. Web site is very easy to see what painting is on each night.

We visited the Crafted Palette last week after purchasing a LivingSocial Deal with a bunch of our friends. We had enough people going and booked far enough in advance that the owner let us pick the painting we wanted to do. We ended up doing the Pastel Bear, and they actually came out really well! Like most of the other Painting places popping up around Reno, they offer drinks during the classes. They had local beers to choose from and a selection of wines all at a reasonable price. During the day, Crafted Palette doubles as a coffee shop and breakfast/lunch restaurant too. They have the paintings you can paint on the walls and the tables they use are refurbished palettes which make for a great ambience. My only issue is that they are tried to cram too many people into our class and the tables were so close together that it was almost impossible to get out if you needed to use the restroom, get more paint or go to the bar. The other thing is that I’ve been to a few different painting places in town, and I prefer when they have the plates already set with your paint. Because of the crammed tables, trying to get up and get in line to get your paint was difficult. We ended up having one person go and just bring back paint, brushes, paper towels, etc.

Another new kid in the neighborhood. We have watched this morph from Beaujolais Bistro to Crafted Palette. Not a huge change structurally, but a quantum leap in concept and vibe. This is not exclusively a sip and paint place. It is a very nice place to stop and get a great cup of coffee and a light breakfast or lunch. Relaxed and rustic was my primary impression. Very different from the high end French Cuisine that was previously in this space. The menu is posted on a chalkboard by the bar with printed menus for the drink items. We decided to go with the Pastrami Pretzel Roll Sliders for lunch(breakfast items are served all day. My husband had wine, I had an iced coffee. The coffee was excellent as were the sandwiches. The owners were very friendly and we felt very welcomed. There are only the two of them when we were there and service was a bit slow, but the food was worth the wait. There was a little bit of a mixup with my drink — I was offered a free replacement, but it was not a big deal. I really appreciated the offer. We are looking forward to a return visit — maybe for a breakfast treat with a hot coffee. Looking forward to trying the Poulet — Brie sandwich. Yum! Very very happy this lovely little spot is just around the corner.

Time: 4:53pm/98°F sunny Purpose: Just left nearby business with boba cup in hand. Casually strolling through the block looking for dinner before heading back home. It’s gonna be an 3hr 45min drive so, I wanted to be at least some what full. Ambiance: All brick structure building with low 10ft ceiling sits 18+. Tables are made from half pallet with intricate color design and lacquer finish. All seatings are plush riveted stools, very comfy. Place is air condition during hotter days. Walls are hung with paintings of all sizes from local artist for sale. Inner back is the ordering counter for drinks and eats. Tri-color marble counter top with covered acrylic pastry box, bottled drinks, grinder, LaMarzocco espresso machine, bag beans, business cards, cup sleeves, ipad, tip jar. Behind counter shelving hold bottles of mostly red wines and glasses while white wines refrigerated. Just your standard basic café set up. There might be music playing during café hours, but not while painting. Instructor has on wireless mic transmitting through amplified speakers. Staff: One girl about late 20s warm and friendly barista. She thought I was a newbie just late coming in. She asked me what I was gonna draw? I answer, I’m sorry, but I don’t know how or even where to start. Get this! I actually walk in after hours so, I was consider the late student lol. I was apologetic that I even did that, stupid me. I said sorry to bother you guys then proceeded to leave. When one of the artist looks over said its ok, winks eye. Why don’t you stay if you like? Why thank you mam! Cleanliness: Grade A, impeccable for a art/café combo. No paint spots were seen or food debris. Without the café area you might as well think its an painting class itself going on. Eats/Drinks: Too warm for hot drinks and couldn’t drink wine, I’ll be driving back soon. Opted for a bottle of unsweetened Pure Leaf cold tea $ 2.25 stay and watch at least 5 mins. It’s the right thing to do IMO. Main Features: Coffee, canvas, cocktails. Products/Services: Coffee/tea by Temple, bag beans, soy milk, energy bars, old time sodas, Indian Wells beer, danishes/pastries, quiche, cookies, fruit bars, assorted bottled drinks, wine(by glass or bottle), annual membership. See picture for breakfast/lunch options. Takes plastic(no minimum). Punch Lines: Newbies/novice/pro, instructor on site, calm, air condition place, drink/eat/draw, join anytime, limited snacks, premium beans/tea, regional/imported wines, artwork for sale, zippy service, knowledgeable, friendly, can’t go wrong, laid back, calm. Tradeoffs: Painting class is not held all day, only after café closes usually early evenings. Schedule your time around it, if you’re not painting. Final Thoughts: I had no idea that there was a class going on. Being a curious person, I wander in and found a cozy café with talented artist that don’t mind people watching them. As a matter of fact, they prefer so people watching. So, I’m no artist or near it, not saying that I won’t. For now, I just have different interest and hobbies, but don’t count me out.

I thought that wAs great. Check out photo of artist and artwork Really enjoyed my evening painting with friends while enjoying s ass of wine and talking with people who just stopped by to see what was going on.
