This is what I have been looking for since I got to Reno! A great Mexican bakery where the items are fresh and so yummy you would drive through the snow to get some. The handful of times I have been here there is always a line, but it goes quick so don’t worry if you see people waiting to get in. The staff is friendly and happy to answer questions. They all seem to be family or possibly family friends. Of course since Spanish is their dominant language this is what you hear when you walk in. Don’t let the language deter you! Just point to what you want(since there are no names on anything) and say how many you want. They have goodies like conchas(the big puffy sweet breads with the sugar topping that kind of look like shells), cookies, muffins, cakes(yes that is a mini pinapple upside down cake in the picture), pastries of various sorts(flakey layers of philo and cream to describe one), and even empanadas(pinapple, pumpkin, cream filings are usually available). I have tried just about everything in their case, and though I cannot tell you the name of most of the items, I have never been even remotely disappointed with any of it. Cash only is standard of this type of bakery, so go prepared(this is the only reason for 4 stars, otherwise it would be a 5 all the way). The prices seem to run between .50 and $ 1.00 per item. Though there is no «menu» or «price board» posted. But if you want to know what the price is, simply ask. I tend to visit during the evenings(for desert), and there tends to be a nice lady there selling tamales(type varies by day, but some are: pork, green chili and cheese, chicken) and champurado(warm Mexican drink), along with some fruit drinks. I have not bought any of these yet, but as well she seems to have a regular stream of customers too. Next time you are in the area(Wells and 80, they are next to the Chevron gas station) stop by and pick up a few goodies. They make for great desert or even breakfast the next morning with your coffee!

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Reno, NV
Good and affordable. Takes me back to the cookies I ate from Mexican bakeries in the Mission when I was a kid. They seem to have 50+ cakes, cookies, and pastries available at any given time. The steady flow of people and what appears to be around-the-clock baking would explain how fresh everything tasted. They also do «torta» sandwiches(using cold cuts, I believe), which are apparently also good and very cheap.
