Like the casual atmosphere and Jacob our server was awesome. Food was very good. Also pets are welcome.

Mellow Fellow is located right across from Greater Nevada Field on second Street. I ordered the grilled cheese with pesto sandwich. It included two types of cheese and tomato soup on the side. It was the special of the day and very affordable. It also included salad. I really enjoyed the sandwich and soup. The restaurant was extremely crowded, provide to game day. I will be back for a pre game meal.

This place is hopping game days. There literally was not a seat in the house open. Luckily we secured a couch and were able to have drinks and dinner there. Located on second Street across from the ballpark, this little restaurant can pack them in. Occupying the building that used to be slice, Mellow Fellow serves pub style food. I ordered the Wit beer, it is a light beer with alot of flavor. Mellow Fellow has all kind of activities during the week, from aycd day to do trivia. Every once and awhile they will have a brewery come and pour there beers. The entrée I ordered was the sausage in a pretzel bun. The sausage was linguistics, a bit spicy but very fresh. Village meats provides there sausages. The only reason I did not give five stars, no waitress service. You have to go to the bar and order both food and drinks. Most definitely will be back.

Came in with some friends. Got a side of chip crumbs with the sandwich. Sure, if you are going to do that at least hide it on the bottom. Someone from our party got this corrected. Waited at the counter for almost 10 minutes for a second beer and then a couple gentleman came in from outside and got served right away, while I was still waiting. I’ve noticed a negative trend of bar awareness in Reno recently. This is my 3rd time here and while never being particularly impressed by the service in the past, this has been the worst.

Great food, takes a while to come out though. Great atmosphere, fun people working, especially Jacob. Lots and lots of good beers to try. I will say the soundtrack was absolutely amazing. All around a pretty good place.

Ryan and crew put on an awesome brew-vent, called«The Cellar Thief» The team was welcoming and had great beer and food for the event. Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy great beer and food.

Great hang out before and after the game. Great beer selections, too. Which there was a bit more seating. Staff was ok and prompt; however they were just going through the motions. Not rude, but certainly not welcoming. I’ll go back but won’t make it a special trip. This is going to be a great/regular game stop only. If I change my mind, I’ll come back and update this review.

The food at this place use to be pretty good but now it’s horrible. My girlfriend’s sandwich had burnt buns and bacon. That’s just sad. A sandwich is so simple to make. Will never eat food there again. They have a great variety of beers but they are highly overpriced.

Decent! Great beer selection. Nice atmosphere. Wonky shuffle board table. And yes that’s literally the reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5.

Came here for a tap takeover(Pizza Port/Stone) the party started at noon, but I arrived around 6:00 ish. sat at the bar and I think I sampled everything here. The service(bartenders) were great and always on top of it. The beer’s of course were off the hook! They also had other brews avail that were regular tap rotators(I assume) No crap beer here! That should be their motto too. I did not try anything off the menu, but hopefully will someday soon.

Great place to get a beer. Came here before an Aces game to grab a beverage. They have a huge selection. Service is terrific and the staff has a great knowledge of all the beers. Had a soft pretzel and cheese to go with it. It was good, but a homemade beer cheese would have tasted great instead of the cheese they had. But overall it was wonderful and would go back.

If you came here while it was Slice from Silver Peak or in the period of time immediately following that, you should definitely head back to give it a shot. They’ve completely redone their menu, and focus on freshly prepared foods as opposed to the pre-packaged Mellow Fellow of yore. Still in the same area which isn’t really convenient except during baseball season, though. Their beer selection is excellent, as so many have commented before. What I like is that the menu is grouped by type, which makes it easier to select a brew. If you can’t decide, ask one of the knowledgeable bartenders and they’re happy to give you a recommendation based on what you like. Service was good, but it was a busy night so completely understandable that they limit the socializing to a minimum in order to get more people taken care of. One of the times we were here it was for the 1st Anniversary Party, and they had a free, all-you-can-eat taco bar. Awesome. And while this easily could have been a place for lukewarm, mediocre food, they really made an effort to keep everything fresh, hot, and to give the patrons some variety in their taco choices. A previous time we had grabbed dinner here, and the food was really good. Their focus is still obviously on the beer, but they do a good job of finding that balance that is hard for many brew-pubs to achieve. The pesto grilled cheese, for example, is a great choice. It gets crazy before and after Aces games, so if that’s not what you’re looking for, check the schedule. I’ll definitely be back here soon to check out their trivia on Tuesday nights.

Lots of taps!!! They have a great selection and even specialities in bottles. The bartenders are always friendly and willing to help you if you are unsure about beer types. The food is great! The sausages from Truckee are amazing they sell. We had the pepperoni pizzel and a potsticker sausage in a pretzel bun. Yum! This place never disappoints. They have happy hour specials daily from 3−6pm– $ 1 off all drafts and appetizer specials. It is a great place to hang out with friends. If you haven’t checked out this location, give it a try!

Stumbled in here on a Friday at 3pm with my husband and 2 kids. First off we we’re in awe of their beer selection! Not only on tap but hard to find bottles they had as well. They have free shuffleboard, pool, and darts, and are family friendly which is a must for our family. My daughter ordered off the Kidd menu and enjoyed her meal, my BLT with chips and salsa was delicious, and my husband tried their sausages(DELICIOUS)! We cannot wait to come back and hope Reno realizes what a great spot this is!

Excellent service and beer selection! Perfectly located next to downtown and the ballpark. Beer menu had some hard to find, quality, sought out selections. Had an excellent limited release Firestone and the bartender knows his stuff. Also I had the pork pops, super tender and flavorful. The Mac and cheese side was solid too. This place has lots of cool special events designed around beers and breweries, but even without those in definitely coming back for more.

Great selection of American Craft beers and breweries. A lot of specialty draft beers that you can’t find anywhere else, even in bottles. The best part is that they have a constantly rotating draft selection, so there’s always something new to try. Their beer events are amazing. 30+ draft tap takeovers where you can try everything. It’s like a $ 30, 12 hour tasting event. The new food menu is solid. House baked Turkey Club gets me more often than not, but I’m a sucker for their chicken quesadilla, too. It’s just good quality pub fare. All in all, worth a try! Happy hour is 3 – 6 every day if you’re looking for a deal!

Mind blowing selection of beers! We had a super attentive bar tender that allowed us to sample several before we made our selections. It was Saturday early afternoon of zombie crawl so it was starting to get busy. We still had time to grab a couple light snacks before the hordes arrived. We had the Mac and cheese which they we kind enough to top with pulled pork in a homage to the amazing piggy Mac I had at rib cook off. It was good, but just slightly over cooked. We also shared the pizza pretzel, pretty good. The draw for me is the beer selection. They have everything imaginable to fit anyone’s palette including fun stuff like chili infused which seems to be my new obsession!

I am very much a fan of Mellow Fellow. They have an excellent beer selection, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, and tasty food. There are TVs at all the right places to watch whatever sportsing is on, and the pool table and table shuffleboard and video games are great fun. Tonight I went to the first meeting of Barley’s Angels Northern Nevada, which Mellow Fellow hosted, and dayum! The aesthetics of the event and the beer education were superb. So I recommend to all Unilocalers: go drink there! Why only four stars, then? I hate to say it: ‘cuz it’s in a weird part of downtown.(And I’m saying this as a former resident of an even weirder part of downtown.) Sometimes it’s nice to not see folks having… drama… while one is parking one’s car and heading in for a drink and some relaxing. And it’s highly likely that someone will be having drama near Mellow Fellow whether it’s afternoon or evening or gameday or not. So I don’t think of Mellow Fellow as the place to go as often as I should. But I should! They are organizing super cool events like brewery«takeover» days where they bring in beers that one usually needs to go to the original brewery to enjoy. Their food really is delicious. And when I want to be adventurous with beers, I know it’s a place that will deliver.

I am not sure what happened this night — perhaps it was because it was on an Ace’s game night but I can honestly say that I have never had such poor service. We sat and looked at a menu and a waiter did come over after a few minutes to get our drink orders. My step daughter asked if we could play Monopoly as there are games on the table. We laughed and said we would never have time to play that game. We got our beers and then we ordered our food. That is where the experience went downhill. The beer was good. They do have a good selection of beers. After 30 minutes we started to try flagging down our waiter but were unsuccessful. 45 minutes in we finally got his attention. We asked about our food and went to check. He returned to say that they were having kitchen issues and were just going to start our meals. 60 minutes in and 2 of the 6 things we ordered arrived: A pretzel and a hummus trio. Both were pre-made and only needed to be warmed. We all nibbled thinking that our meals would be right behind… well, we were wrong. We finished the food we had and yet again flagged down the waiter to see where the rest of the food was. Shocker — it STILL had not been started. We ended up leaving without having dinner because we had tickets to the game and it was getting ready to start. I hope that they work out there issues on busy nights or they will have a lot of problems getting customers to return.

April 18, 2015 Saturday 6:30PM drinks & dinner Atmosphere — 5 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — It is the first Reno Craft Beer Week and it started today. Deschutes came with one of their new beers, Pinedrops IPA. Atmosphere — This was Silver Peaks’ Slice and not much has change. Okay probably the only big change is the number of taps. Food Drinks — Clearly I am here for the beer and Deschutes Pinedrops was excellent. I also had the Red Chair NWPA on Nitro. It was so thick with the nitro. My Main Course — The pretzel was solid. But the winner of the night was the Pork Pop. The meat is Frenched, to create a handle with meat at one end of the bone. So yummy! The menu had two choices for sauce, but when I ordered they gave me three. I had the Kona honey bbq sauce, not very strong and went well with pork. Service — I order my beer had a few sips and realized my phone was in my car and had to get it. Stupid Stupid Stupid. So I had to go back and get it. I asked the bartender and explained the problem, she held and as so as I got back she delivered it to me. Awesome service. Future — We will be back.

Always a great selection of craft beer! I love that they serve food too! The staff is friendly and helpful and answered any beer questions I had!
