This was our 3rd time at Roxy’s and it still has just been absolutely great! We love everything about it: The bacon bread, the steak, the salad, the dessert, etc. When we are in Reno, we know exactly where to go for a GREAT steak dinner at a respectable price. Love this place!

My wife and I have been to the Roxy several times, and have always loved it. Tonight we took my parents before going to see a show at the El Dorado. We were in a rush, and our waiter and I believe the manager were extremely accomodating. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and gave amazing five star service.

Shaun is the man to see for a fabulous Roxy’s martini. Makes no difference if you’re ordering martinis from their massive menu or having one created just for you, Shaun nails it every time. Make sure you come early for happy hour, roxy’s fills up fast and for a good reason– fabulous drinks and staff. The prices have changed recently, unfortunately. Now there is a range $ 5 – 9. Enjoy the live piano music until 10, then it changes to DJ. There’s always a dance floor available. Check them out for the best martinis in town. And say hi to Shaun for me.

This review is for the bar. My dad and I stopped in for a couple of drinks on a Sunday night. They have a huge selection of martinis, which does take a while to go through. Our waitress was very attentive and able to give recommendations. The first drink I ordered was apparently very bitter, which she let me know. I appreciated that because I didn’t want a bitter drink, so I was able to change my order. I had the French Kiss(an orange flavored martini) and a pomegranate martini, both of which were excellent. My dad had a Bulleit sour martini(I think that was the name) and a blue moon martini, both of which he really liked. There was a band playing songs, and there were some elderly couples up dancing, which was really cute and fun to watch. I really liked the music they played; they played everything from old school Sinatra to Santana. There wasn’t any really modern music, which I personally greatly prefer. We sat as far away from the bar as possible and it was still extremely loud. We didn’t mind that at all, but if that is something that bothers you, this place is not for you. I loved their selection of drinks and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment. We will definitely go back.

Every year my Dad and I take a trip to Reno and go to a steakhouse for dinner. This year we decided to go to Roxy steak and seafood. What a mistake that ended up being. When we first got seated the atmosphere is very dark and it was extremely noisy since we got seated right next to Roxy’s bar area. The servers were nice and courteous enough and you always had a server checking on your drinks and if you wanted more bread. My dad and I both ordered the ribeye dinners and I also got the lobster bisque. The lobster bisque is was okay and I would give it 3 out of 5 stars, not very impressed. My true disappointment was on the ribeye and this is why I’m giving them such a low review. The ribeye’s were burnt on the outside and all you could taste was the char on the outside of the steak and none of the meat at all. Both of our steaks were slightly over cooked and was not very tasteful at all, which is a shame because I absolutely love ribeye steaks. We didn’t complain or send any of our food back, we just decided that we would never come back and leave it at that. Last year we are at Sterlings steakhouse at the Silver Legacy and the food was 10 times better. After our meal, within a couple hours both of our stomachs didn’t feel well. My dad ended up throwing up for over an hour and I just felt like complete a** the rest of the night. This is what compelled me to write this review. For the price of the restaurant I expected a lot more. I would have given the restaurant about 2 ½ stars, but since we got so sick after eating there I can’t justify giving it anything over a 1. There are so many better options to eat at in Reno.

We started at the bar with Georgeann, she was friendly and engaging, fabulous! They have great happy hour prices on their 102+ martinis and your Unilocal check-in BOGO, such a deal. We had a mocha and a James Bond both were smooth. I loved the mocha! Also free smoked almonds at tables and bar. We headed to our table, in the small circular brick room opening to the bar/kitchen. The atmosphere was romantic and almost castle like. Great candles! Our waiter was Clark, he was very friendly and informative about specials and items on the menu. We settled on the scallops, wangu burger, and a side of truffle, mushroom macaroni and cheese. While waiting for the food which was out in less than 10 minutes, a young lady with a basket draped in red delivered us bacon, cheese bread. OMG, it was incredible! She made it back to our table just before the food hit, yes I will make room for the bread. The scallops melted in our mouths, cooked perfectly. They were accompanied by spinach, peas, fiddleheads, and gnocchi. The burger was ordered medium rare and also cooked to perfection, served with thin crispy chip like fries. The burger is out of this world. The mac and cheese was creamy and good, but was very heavy handed with the garlic and proved to be too over powering to eat. We did order two martinis from the bar inside a blue moon, yum like a hurricane, and a blue eyes, but it was like turpentine. As we were leaving Clark brought another this time for Georgeann in the bar area, huge improvement. He told us he just didn’t want us to leave not enjoying ourselves. Such a class act! We will absolutely return. Watch for a Groupon! Which we used in conjunction with our other Unilocal check-in.

When we’re in Reno, we enjoy coming here for one of their delicious Martinis. Located in the El Dorado casino… Roxy is swanky, sexy, cool. It has a romantic vibe but you don’t have to worry about dress code. After all, it’s in a casino and most of the clientele are there to enjoy something other than gambling. There is a pianist playing Jazz that kicks the evening off to a great start. There’s 102 different Martinis, it’s hard to decide. They have a Happy Hour every day from 4:30 — 6:30, which includes all their Martinis along with some munchies. If you don’t like Martinis, that’s ok because they have other alcohol drinks as well, including wine!

Every now and again, braving parking garages and traipsing through casinos is ok; especially when a wonderful meal awaits at Roxy. I have kids so I rarely get to things like Happy Hour or nightclubs but I’ve heard both are great here. I’m here for the food.(Mostly that bacon cheese bread they give you. Pretty sure I could just have that and one of their Martinis for dinner ;-).) Also the deals. We like to get the early bird dinner deal(salad, choice of selected entrees and this pretty amazing ice cream Sundae with warm caramel and toasted almonds — I think it’s $ 19.99 fixed but I tossed my receipt). Or check Groupon & Living Social. Prices are pretty steep so go for the deals instead of skipping this place! :Atmosphere: very elegant, transported to a classier time… :Service: always great, very personable with recommendations and great descriptions. And the bread girl walking around to replenish as needed is a nice touch :Food /drink favorites: bacon cheese bread! Martinis, double thick pork chop served with wild mushroom mac & cheese, lobster bisque topped with puff pastry(so rich!), Waygu beef cheeseburger with fries, Filet with bernaise, Beef short ribs with pappardelle pasta, beet & Panko encrusted goat cheese salad. This week I had the crab legs with drawn butter, best crab I’ve ever eaten. Our food and experience here has always been very good — classic steakhouse fare with a creative & elegant twist.

Yum yum, been here once before. And if I can remember we had the lobster escargot and it was divine! This time we tried their sushi for an appetizer and we got the lady in red which was seared tuna and spicy tuna. Amazing. We definitely want to come here and try their sushi. I got the bay scallops for my entrée. It was amazing and huge. I felt like I got my money’s worth. Great sized portions and the price was normal for an all seafood dish here in Reno. The waiter was awesome super nice! I got their buy one get one martini Unilocal special. It was a coffee martini that you were supposed to get for free but I didn’t see that but the waiter still have me my second martini for free. We got the mushroom ravioli for an appetizer also. It was amazing. The sauce was perfectly creamy and savory. Enough sauce also to drench each ravioli. My husband got the prime rib. And that was a very tasty prime rib almost just as good as they liberty bell. If anyone remembers that restaurant. They were the best prime rib in town. All in all amazing meals and drinks. No doubt about it I will continue to come here for dinner!

I have been here twice and both times the food, table service and experience were great. However, both times I felt like the time between ordering and the food service was extremely long. Must haves: Bacon bread. They serve it at the table along with another bread. Don’t even think about trying the other bread! Trust me the bacon bread is the way to go. You will have dreams about it later. The Seared Scallops. Served with pieces of lobster, gnocchetti and a light, bright sauce. The Wagu burger. This is what a burger should be! I ordered done medium and it was so juicy with that charred beef flavor. Highlighted with caramelized onion, cheddar cheese and some bacon. Seriously, you cannot go wrong with this one. Café Diablo. WHAT??? You want to finish dinner with a boozy coffee and an awesome show, they got you covered! This coffee is all about the presentation. The smell of the flaming clove studded orange peel is truly intoxicating! The Roxy is definitely a high end restaurant with an extensive wine list so just expect your bill to reflect that; however, the service is spot on and the food is great. If you are looking for a nice evening out The Roxy is a place for you. I will definitely be going back.

Started with a happy hour martini at the bar($ 5). The drink was a bit syrupy and I suspected that my drink order was wrong. I checked with the bartender but he insisted that it was correct. Someone from my party had the same drink and it didn’t look like the same drink. The garnish was not even the same! I mentioned that and he changed the garnish with an annoyed expression. Changing the garnish does not make the drink correct! Service was quantity over quality. Other people from my party enjoyed their drinks but there were two bartenders working. Just saying. For dinner I ordered the short ribs. It came with pappardelle, my favorite pasta. The short rib was very tender but a little too salty for my taste. Generous portion and temperature was perfect. My water glass was always filled and I drank a lot of water. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food as well. Try the bacon bread(table bread)! The coffee Diablo was quite a show too! The dinner staff was on top of it and had no problems with separate checks for 7 of us. I’d come here for dinner again but not for happy hour. One star off for the Buzz kill…

Once again only one check in by I’ve been here many times and shocking it’s a steak house! I’ve been to more steakhouses in the last 4 years living in Reno than my 40+ years of living/dining in NYC but then again it is cowboy country! Located on the 2nd Floor of the Eldorado next to the Fountain of Fortune(who knew it had a name). The seating plan offers something for everyone: Bar with bar seating and high top seating plus piano player, the restaurant is set up like a grotto — when you 1st step into the restaurant there’s hallway with 2-tops for more intimate dining, a few steps further in there is more seating in front of the open kitchen, to the left of the kitchen are booths and 4-tops that can be moved to accommodate large groups, to the right of the kitchen are more tables closer to the bar so if you want to hear the piano player but not sit in the bar that’s the spot. The good: –Martinis, Martinis, Martinis — 102 on the menu. Check in on Unilocal for possible a 2-for-1 coupon. I’m a fan of Mocha. –Happy Hour at the bar! –Albert is an amazing waiter! –Martini & munchies at the bar! –Food is good… Homemade chips & Old Bay dip for $ 4 great but I recommend 2 orders as there’s not a lot of dip, Colorado Lamb Chops looked amazing I had entrée envy, decent burger, good steaks, etc. –BREAD! Served one piece at a time little red riding hood style(young gal serves it from a basket) — the bacon/cheese/bread is divine! Plus sourdough. –350 wines The not so good: –It’s spendy but check GroupOn for deals plus if you’re a gamer they except Eldorado(soon they might except Silver Legacy or some combo of the 2) comps. –If you want to order the soufflé for dessert order it before the appetizers, it takes a ½ hour to prepare. I’ve never had one it always seems a bit too much after a large meal. I’m sure I’ll be back at the bar soon for a martini or 4.

Roxy’s has been around for a long time. I’ve been here several times when I lived in Reno 10+ years ago. It is a consistently good steakhouse — and yes, it’s pricey. Yesterday I opted for Colorado Lamb Chops, medium rare. They were cooked to perfection and tender and were served with Squash Risotto which was creamy and delicious($ 44). Service was excellent(our waiter’s name is Albert). We also order an table snack of old bay chips with carmelized onion dip($ 4). Dip was delicious. although not quite enough for all the chips… but then again, it was only $ 4. They had a couple of souffles that you have to order with dinner. Good thing we opted not too, although they did sound delicious. In the end, we were just to full of martini’s for dessert. Check in on Unilocal and your offer is buy one — get one free: Mocha Martini. They let each of the 3 of us use our Unilocal offer and the Martini’s were to die for. Don’t forget to check out their happy hour.

December 30, 2015 Wednesday — 5:30PM for dinner 5 adults and a kid Atmosphere — 4 star Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Dinner before a show at Eldorado Atmosphere — Roxy is really almost two different places. You have the bar which I have been to many times. They have great martinis there. Tonight was about dinner and we sat tonight in a section I had never been. It has a rustic feel and of course it is dimly let. What I thought was bizarre was that there was a side door in our area that was being used by the staff and guest. It took some of the ambience away. Food Drinks — Their beer list is not written down so ask. But it is all about the wine list here, it is very extensive. Main Corse — This is a meat and seafood restaurant and not many vegetarian options. But I am a meat eater! I had the bone in ribeye cooked medium. Perfection. I need another one just thinking about it. Service — Solid, but the event of the night was when the ladies ordered café diablo. They make this table side, and it is a great show. Future — Yes.

My first time at Roxy’s was a great time and I loved the vast selection of martinis — something like 102 to choose from? I had a hard time deciding what to go with, so I played it safe and ordered a lemon drop. No complaints, very good. I tried a couple of my friends’ drinks — a chocolate martini and the espresso martini, with the latter being my preference, surprisingly. I recall it being very smooth and I thought I’d lean towards the chocolate one more. I don’t know if I’d order them because I enjoy the fruity flavors most, but I’m glad I tried them. Probably have to once again just to be sure. To be honest I didn’t have a good chance to review the whole list of all of them because I was socializing with so many old friends, but they looked like they had some that looked amazing. Our group met up here and then moved on to some other places, so we weren’t here very long, but it looked really nice and someplace I need to return to. I’d really like to stay for a meal to get a better feel for it, but my experience at the bar was nice and the bartenders were cool. I like me some martinis, too, so I’ll definitely be back.

My husband’s work treated the Managers to a show at the El Dorado and the tickets gave us 50% off dining anywhere in the casino. So, Kyle and I, and three other people, decided to eat at Roxy beforehand. I think the food and drinks are definitely 3.5−4 star worthy — but our service did not match at all. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server and asked our drink orders. The server seemed pretty attentive and nice. I did, however, want to be upfront about our coupons so I mentioned the show. The server took the coupon stubs and his demeanor definitely changed. Drink orders throughout the night took forever to make their way to the table, even though they themselves were quite good. We had an issue with our table rocking considerably and, while the server did try to fix the problem, it took a good 15 minutes of him leaving the table and coming back repeatedly. It would have been much easier to just move us to another table as there were plenty in his section still open. When we asked the server for recommendations, he mentioned the most expensive items on the menu. While I appreciated him telling us the before and after prices with the discount, the way he presented them was in an almost judgmental way. Like«you’re cheap because you used a coupon» and«you’re tacky.» I’m not sure if I’m explaining it in a way that makes sense, but the point is his attitude was a little off. Any who, I ordered the small filet mignon and the hubs ordered the New York steak. I ordered my steak medium rare and, while the center was only a little overdone, the ends were definitely medium. The asparagus was well cooked. Kyle’s steak was cook well and he enjoyed it. One of the other guys in the group got the same thing as Kyle and commented on how tasty the steak was as well. The other couple ordered chicken and the burger and, while the chicken was deemed as a-okay, the burger was«just a burger.» Because our drinks and food took a bit longer than expected, we cut it too close to the show, so we didn’t get any desserts. I think I would try Roxy’s again if someone suggested it or wanted to go there, but I wouldn’t go out of my way. Unfortunately our server seemed to judge us because we were given coupons and treated us differently then I suspect most people are treated, based on the pretty good reviews. There are just too many other options in Reno that I will most likely take my business elsewhere.

This is one of my husband’s and my go-to places for a date night when we want to talk, relax, hear some music, and enjoy a fun and unique drink. There’s often some jazzy instrumentalist, pianist, and/or singer in the evenings. If you haven’t been here… they are home to 102 different martinis, so it’s hard not to find one, or several, for any palate. I have probably had 10 different ones, and along with sampling my husband’s drinks, hey, I’m about 20% there… better get back soon! My favorites so far are the S’mores martini and the Pineapple upside-down cake martini(holy moly– it tastes just like an actual pineapple upside-down cake). Ooh, and the caramel apple martini is super good too. Now I’m only rating the upstairs lounge area of Roxy. I have eaten dinner at the downstairs area probably only twice, and it has been so long, I can’t include that experience in the rating. But it’s worth keeping in mind that dinner is a option. There is a little sushi bar in the front too, not sure if that is a part of Roxy or something else. At the lounge you are welcome to order from the dinner menu too(although the bistro tables might be too small for dinner plates plus drinks!). We have been tempted split an appetizer or order(edible) dessert, but have never actually done it, opting instead for drinkable dessert. I don’t recall what hours their«Happy Hour» is, but martinis are $ 4 then. And if you drink a few too many… rent a room.

180 degree difference from our meal the night before at the adjoining casino! A close friend of ours stays at the legacy a couple nights a month to visit us. Being fans of the two casinos and drinkers we usual try to eat at the casino and leave the car in valet to cab it home. Our usual meal at Cin Cin unfortunately is a no go on Thursday night since La Strada is closed Wednesday and Thursday. As we walk past Roxy we look at the menu on a whim. I’ve eaten here probably 6 years ago but usually just stop in for drinks. The manager greeted us and our friend was in the mood for steak so it seemed like a perfect pairing. We were seated in the dungeon area right next to the wine storage. I was very impressed with the amazing wine selection! The lighting was a little dim for me but I can handle that since the overall ambience was really nice. On to my meal, a perfect filet mignon. Perfectly cooked and it melted in my mouth. So tender and flavorful I just want to eat it again! My only suggestion is to order it without the bernaise sauce, it didn’t need it. I had the lobster bisque as an accompaniment and it was just as expected with large chunks of lobster and a smooth bisque. My friends rib eye was absolutely gorgeous and they were kind enough to wrap the bone up for me to go. I know, I know not super classy on my part but I love my dogs and they LOVE their bones :) Overall, you should eat here. Don’t dismiss it because of the cheesy water fountain out front, you’re missing out on a great steakhouse hidden away behind a sushi and martini bar!

There is a reason this place is four stars, honestly I am a bit surprised it is rated at four instead of 5 stars. We dined here on a whim while a friend was in town and while kicking around the casino trying to decide on a place to eat. This was something new(at least for me) and the menu looked diverse enough for our tastes, and sounded amazing, and certainly better than our meal the evening prior. The ambiance is nice, lighting is soft but not so much that you cannot see your plate or the food on it. It is quiet, admittedly there was conversation around us, but it isn’t so loud that I felt I had to talk over anyone, attributable to the generous dining space allowed between tables. The design is nice, tasteful, and elegant, done well enough in fact you could easily forget you are in a casino in the first place. The staff were all incredibly generous, polite, and really made me feel welcomed and appreciated, as a finer restaurant should do for any guest. The wine selection is ample and offered several variations of each styles for the most discerning tastes. We had the Stags Leap Merlot, which was offered properly, and incredibly smooth and flavorful. I ordered the blackened Ahi tuna, served with broccolini, and pot stickers. The ahi was amazing, decadent, flavorful, delicious. The pot stickers were also very good as was the broccolini. I ate a sampling of my wifes filet and it was so incredibly full of flavor and succulent, my only complaint about the filet was that it came with asparagus and a bearnaise sauce, we wrongly assumed the sauce would be on the asparagus. The steak was so amazing, I don’t know why you’d mask its flavor with a bearnaise sauce and it’s not that the sauce was bad, it was actually quite good, just not how I’d have expected it. I nearly forgot to mention, the bread they served before our meal, sliced sourdough and a cheese and bacon both offered with butter, it was fresh and so good, bordering on decadent. I have probably walked by this place a hundred times and never given it a second thought, I will not continue making that mistake. If you have been making the same mistake, stop, collaborate, and listen, you have got to get in there and treat yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

Met up with fellow Unilocalers Angie B, Jen B, and a few more friends. They have a great happy hour deal from 4:30 — 6:30 $ 5 martini’s! You read that right all 102 martini’s for 5BUCKS each!!! Oh and when you check in on Unilocal you can redeem a free Mocha Martini with the purchase of another. It was a perfect. Tasted like a great cup of iced coffee. The ambiance was nice with a getleman playing a piano. So with all this great stuff going on you ask why only 3 stars??? It’s what it always comes down to right… the service!!! The bartenders never smiled, no hello, no how are you, no nothing. Just what can I getcha. When I got there there was five of us so it wasn’t because they were slammed(I always take that into concideration). They just didn’t seem like they liked their job with their lack of personality and the boring way they shook the drinks. …sad
