I used to love this place and the food, but the last 3 times I went it was horrible. This past Saturday on 3÷12÷2016, we went for breakfast and I hate to say it, but this will be the last time. We were there for 15 minutes before our waitress even came over. She seemed over worked and we felt like an inconvenience to her. We didn’t get our water and coffee until about 20 minutes in. The bacon avocado omelets is always my favorite but the eggs were sweaty and it turned me off. I was embarrassed that I told my spouse we should go there and then to have a rude waitress and sweaty eggs was just too much. My favorite server there is named Shaun and he is amazing, but every other time I have went when I didn’t sit in his section turned out awful. I used to love this place, but I don’t feel welcome and I unfortunately wont be coming back for the sweaty eggs and rude service. The only time I would go is if I could have Shaun as my waiter again, he was amazing!

I’ve had a few issues with wrong food and such but service and the manager is always very helpful, accommodating and polite! I had Allyson as a waitress and what a bright star! She made sure I left happy and full! ! Food is delicious, décor is fun and great place to bring friends and family.

First time here and loving the vibe. Tables spaced out nicely, clean impression, friendly greets… great morning for some«me-time.» I actually came here because I saw some delicious pictures of their crepes, but I didn’t get to try them because I cannot turn down hash benedicts, that’s both of my breakfast faves in one! The cornbeef hash isn’t that canned stuff, they make it with real cornbeef. Yum. Hollandaise sauce was buttery and the egg was slightly runny, just how I like it. This benedict does not come with an english muffin and I was informed prior to confirming my order. Portion size was good for me but might be smaller compared to some other places. Coffee was good and refilled promptly. No sour coffee here! Service was great! Both the server and the host were perky with smiles. Their hair was neatly up, something many food places in Reno don’t always think about. The server was excited to learn it was my first time here and wanted me to try their muffins. I’ll be back to try the crepes. I didn’t know it was a chain restaurant until today. Today is definitely a cheat day!

For a chain restaurant this place has a touch of home. With their mismatched chairs, plate decorations, and their warm tones colors splashed every which way creating a home-like feel. Their service is very friendly, even with their early morning rush our server was polite and did not rush us when some of our party was late. The food service was fast. While we chatted away, less than 15minutes and there was hot food in front of us. I tried their lemon poppy seed griddle cakes, the lemon flavor is strong and the griddle cakes were moist. It came with eggs and meat(bacon /pork sausage /turkey sausage) and a fruit cup. I like the sweet and savory combination so I eat my pancakes with my meat. Also I brought my daughter with me and they gave her a kids plate of fruits and Cheerios on the house. That was very nice of them. Overall I will definitely come back for the rest of the menu. Seems like they know how to run a tight ship and the food keeps getting better.

I ordered a mushroom hamburger, it was served as only a half on one piece of the bread. I told the waitress that I expected a full serving, she replied that she would see manager about getting the other half but please enjoy that which she had served. After some time a so called manager showed up and said he would do nothing to make things right. Nice waitress, very poor manager that was extremely rude! My suggestion, Try someplace else. Many better choices in Reno.

Came here on my birthday excited to get my free piece of birthday crêpe cake as well as purchasing a couple entrees. My niece asked for garlic bread — which is not on the menu but they have been happy to serve her this previously. Our waitress said she would go into the kitchen to ask… and never came back to our table. During our wait we witnessed her going in and out of the kitchen, servicing others tables, walking past ours without a second glass. A while after our water glasses were dry, we had a very nice gentleman waiter come to out table and state he would be taking over… Not sure what just happened, but it made for an awkward moment at the beginning. Luckily, our new waiter has not let our glasses empty and has kept a smile on his face. Honestly, this review started as a one star but thanks to our fantastico waiter and hot flavorful food which arrived exactly as we ordered, the stars have grown. Please note: The birthday crêpe cake made me cry… from disappointment… perhaps I built it up to much in my mind or perhaps it was because the crepes were sadly dry.

Wonderful service, great food! Eggs Benedict were the best I ever had! Our server Kathy was so nice and friendly, she had great recommendation. Our new favorite place! Oh and the muffins are delicious I think they are made fresh daily.

Most people that I have talked to haven’t heard of this place. A friend of mine said that he worked at «Mimi’s Café» and I had a whole different picture in my mind other than what it really is. It is kinda of like the French version of Olive Garden. They offer a bread basket for and appetizer which I suggest. I have only had two things on the menu and both of those complete my life :), These two things are my favorite. Mimi’s totally performed on what I liked. I TOTALLY love the Chopped Cobb Salad, tossed with Thousand Island dressing. WOW, the flavors and textures of all of the ingredients and a TOTAL paring! It comes with your choice of muffin, Blueberry ROCKS! I also enjoy the French Onion Soup, it has a thick layer of cheese on top with a block of sourdough French roll cube melted and buried in the cheese on the top.

Waiter was excellent and didn’t wait for my water to empty before he asked if I wanted more. Food was very good and good prices. Atmosphere was nice too.

Soo I went here one time and that will be the last. The waitress was on her cell phone texting and they got our entire tables order messed up. The phone was alright nothing to brag about.

Where to start? The nicely greeting hosts? The amazing waitress we had(Shannon)? Shannon was remarkable, just took perfect care of us, so consistent not forgetting about us or her other 3 tables. Great profesonalism and mannerisms. The atmosphere and food that was served to my family was just the start. Best Mimi’s Café I have been to. We need service like this at over back in LA. I observed all the waiters and waitresses and they where are all just delightful with every guest at the tables. This service overall should be an example to most restaurants on how a working staff like here gets things done. The bussers where just on point picking up right after the customer left, and a few minutes later the table was ready. Awesome job! Great experience here.

Typical coffeehouse-like ambiance and food, but a pricey for the quality of food. I would suggest if you must go, try the breakfast/brunch offerings because included in most meals is juice/coffee and a muffin. We also tried this for our untraditional Thanksgiving to spare ourselves the cooking and cleanup. For $ 18.99 the meal included a choice of soup or salad, a platter of turkey and trimmings, and pie slice. The soup was phenomenal, both the tomato bisque and the French onion(very cheesy and broiled to perfection), but the rest of the meal was disappointing. The potatoes were like kindergarten paste, the green beans like canned mush, and the dark meat turkey totally dried like jerky. The white meat was so-so, moist and salted. The slice of pie was dried and crumbly as if someone sliced it a few days prior, let it sit out on a plate, and threw it in a to-go box. The only thing they seemed to have mastered was the bread rolls and the sweet madeleines. Expectations weren’t too high for this trip to Mimi’s, especially at a diner for Thanksgiving(not too many options in Reno), but the service was also super slow. Sometimes it felt as if she forgot we were there, and it wasn’t incredibly busy that evening. Won’t return, even for a standard meal.

Alright, I admit it: I’m harder on chains than the local guys. It may not be fair… blah blah blah. But I have to give it to Mimi’s…they are 5 star. From the minute we walked in we were greeted by 2 friendly and smiling hostesses who sat us as quick as we said 2 guests. The waiter showed up promptly and took our drink order. a moment or 2 later he was back with 2 large OJs which tasted exceptionally good. I had the cinnamon bun French toast which should be illegal it was so good. The over hard eggs were cooked perfectly and the smoked ham was to die for… and I don’t even usually eat ham. And as over the top the décor is… I love it. It was cozy on a rainy Saturday morning. If not in a hurry, I would have loved to just hang out there chatting and a nice cup of coffee.

Came for lunch. We had quiche, turkey sandwich and a club sandwich. It was good! We always have food service and good food here. We sat in the room off to the side of entrance, i really like their corn chowder. It is the best. They give you plenty of food. I couldn’t finish mine. I also like that they bring you a bread basket. They turkey is hand carved there. It is fresh and delicious, not a processed turkey that they slice and slop on a bun. This is the real deal! You have to try it.

Food was good, waitress seemed over worked and the smell of burnt toast was pungent. Waitress complained about getting our drinks when other place have the bussers do it, after asking for a mimosa. Both of our toast was burnt to a crisp so we’re most of our potatoes. My omelette was perfection. The lack of a star is strictly based on the broken toaster and the reticent waitress.

I was in for a quick breakfast on a Saturday morning. Service was slow and since I was alone I felt like I was ignored compared to the other patrons. My oatmeal arrived with pecans, cranberries, brown sugar and milk wiith mixed fruit. The taste was delicious and the portion size was huge. I had enough left over to have for breakfast the next morning. The food was good but I could have used better service.

Today we had lunch again at Mimi’s Café. I ordered chicken Parmesan with fettuccine and my husband ordered the chicken Cordon bleu sandwich with a side salad. For the drink we ordered a strawberry lemonade and an iced tea. They gave us the complimentary bread basket which contained with 2 mini French baguettes &2 slices of carrot bread. The carrot bread was so yumm, and the French baguette was fresh with whipped butter. The chicken Parmesan was so outstanding, chicken cooked perfect, juicy and I love the breading. The sauce was nicely herb. The chicken cordon bleu sandwich came on brioche bread which was so big & my husband can’t get a full bite lol The taste was excellent, nice slice smokey ham & Swiss cheese and lettuce & tomato. The service was excellent as always. Attentive knowledgable and friendly. Our server name was Lindsay. We’ll definetely be back again and again and again.

When I think of dining in New Orleans, I think of the movie ‘Easy Rider’. Yep, Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda dining on fine meats and sauces in the Big Easy, and just generally living it up on a cross-country, motorcycle driven, drug binge. Anyway, Mimi’s is going for the New Orleans and French dining motif and they do a pretty good job at it. For breakfast, we stopped by after dropping off some stray cats to get neutered and were pretty hungry. We opened up the menu and saw crepes — all kinds of crepes. Crepes with brie, smoked meats, and eggs. Other crepes with strawberries and Nutella. It you gotta have a crêpe, check this place out for breakfast — and I guarantee you get friendly service, a nice New Orleans vibe, and maybe you’ll bump into Jack Nicholson(probably not).

Real men eat quiche… and they do it at Mimi’s. Not a bad dinner for chain restaurant. Wait staff has always been nice and the food is very consistent. Tried the mango OJ mimosa… highly recommend. Price is very reasonable with two dinners and alcohol for under $ 30. Great for lunch, dinner and the kids.
