We were staying here mid-January and had planned on getting a quick meal at the buffet as it was Monday and there likely wouldnt have been a line. However the buffet was closed for remodeling. Wife’s daughter hated buffets anyway… real germ-a-phobe. Myself, I like the variety and I always sanitize hands with the little wipes provided BEFORE I start to eat. One does have to figure that everybody around you has handled those serving tongs and spoons before you… So, we all go into the Purple Parrot. Daughter orders a steak, wife orders fish and chips and I order the Monte Cristo. It had been a long time since I had a deep fried sandwich after all. After about 30 minutes we all started wondering if we were ever going to get our food. When we arrived there were very few people in the restaurant, but in the half hour we were sitting, the café did start to get busy. Finally our food was brought out; first the steak and then a minute later, the other two plates. I will say that the steak itself looked good and daughter did say it was in fact, pretty good, if a little over the medium done she ordered. My Monte Cristo however, looked like a order of French toast. Three greasy pieces of egg colored bread and very little powdered sugar. It was served with shoe-string fries, a small bowl of chunky strawberry syrup and a side of cole slaw. The wifes battered fish and shoe string fries with cole slaw looked just as you’d think it’d look except with extra grease. The Monte Cristo was obviously made by a cook that had almost certainly never made this sandwich before. I honestly believe that he must have asked someone, «anyone back here know what goes on a … what is this called… Monte Cristo? «Yeah» Mr. Side-cook says. «It’s a thin slice of ham, a thin slice of processed turkey like product, a slice of Swiss cheese. Make sure to use three pieces of bread, break and egg over it and throw it in the deep fryer. Important to make sure the oil isnt too hot so the bread is able to soak up this week old grease!» Well, needless to say, the sandwich was nasty greasy and basically $ 13 for two slices of lunch meat and sides. I took the sandwich apart and ate the meat. I was hungry. Wife’s fish wasnt being eaten very quickly and seeing how appealed I was with my dinner, she mentioned that her fish tasted«too fishy». I took one of her pieces and to me, tasted spoiled when it was cooked. During all of this time nobody came by but we also did not attempt to notify either. We were visiting daughter so I didnt want to make a scene. Finally as our server was putting the ticket on our table, she asked if everything was alright. I stated that what I was served was the worst Monte Cristo sandwich I had ever had and that my wife’s fish was nasty. The server told me that the ticket had already been rang through. I told her that I didnt care, I just would pay it. I had after all just won a couple hundred dollars. However, in slight defense, a manger did show up at our table and offer desert for free. I told her that how she thought a desert would be better than what we had just been served. In the end, i paid and vowed to never return. As god is my witness, I will never return.

We stayed at the Atlantis for a stay-cation this weekend and were deciding between the Purple Parrot or Manhattan deli for breakfast. It seemed like all breakfast items that the Manhattan had were also on the Purple Parrot menu(for identical prices) so why not go where there’s more options? Wife and I both got veggie omelettes, which were customized to our liking with no hassle whatsoever. The kids split a huge plate of pancakes. All the food was good. Our server was super hard working. No reason not to like this place! I can’t swear we’ll be back soon other than if we stay at the Atlantis again. But enjoyed the meal when we were here.

We came here only because the buffet was closed for renovation. The service was terribly slow and had our entire party starving before we got our food. Cranky hungry toddler and 3 hungry adults trying to place an order is not a good combo . The food was excellent 2 of us got the French Dip, my daughter ordered the kids breakfast(ordered a side of sausage, received bacon and had to order sausage again) and I ordered the BLT with clam chowder. Although, the good food it wasn’t worth waiting for that long.

My family and I stayed during Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was so great! Gina was our server and we felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. She was so attentive and was so great! I know it’s hard to wait on a family with 2 kids, but Gina was awesome!

The hash browns here were pretty good– fluffy and buttery and crisp. Not so much the barely toasted toast and the Denver omelette. GREAT service though.

I got wonton soup, it was little too salty. Restaurant looks clean, warm, and enjoyable. Reason i gave 5 star is the server was very polite professional.

Nice casino diner that has slightly nicer seating and better service than the usual diner, but doesn’t really cost much more. Granted, no super Cal Neva Top Deck type deals here, but the food quality is better and a meal is only about $ 8 – 12, it’s usually under $ 15 per person with drink and tip. And of course you can burn off your comps here too. Open 24 hours and is a nicer option in the wee hours than just about all of the other stuff that’s open. They have a night owl breakfast special with the usual ham-eggs-potatos-biscuit for 4.99 … it’s not listed on the menu anywhere, however, and it turns out it’s not available on Friday or Saturday nights either.

I actually was working in the Casino for a week. This is there 24 hour restaurant. Most of these places make great breakfast. Lunch was ok today. Ordered an Asian Chicken Salad with Spicy(not spicy) sesame dressing. Chicken was tender, salad was crisp, dressing was not spicy. My co-worker for the day had a chicken wrap she thought was great. They usually have a salad bar option here.

My breakfast was good, not great. My service was good but not great. I did win at Keno so that was fun. For a big style casino the little restaurant was pretty good. Again, not great but but at all bad.

Great service! Our waitress along with the whole staff was AWSOME! From the moment we sat down, we were catered too, and treated well. Food was great. I got breakfast of course. Chicken fried steak and eggs. My wife got a burger. Both were big portions, which we both didn’t finish. Our waitress was in it all night, a drink didn’t go I filled and you never had to wait for long if in need of something. Great job Atlantis staff!

I didn’t really like this place much before the update. The new layout is nice but I HATE the new lights! I’m interested in trying the newer items on their menu. I loved the eggs Benedict but disappointed that the hollandaise is not house made and has MSG. But the cooks know what they’re doing, the poached eggs are perfect 9.5 out of 10, I had one item on the new menu, the penne shrimp pasta which was good! Came with yummy bread and a decent salad, which was mostly iceberg(not my personal favorite), a dinner roll that was cold which I was slightly disappointed but it was still yummy, I love the basic breakfast with eggs, hash browns and toast. The nachos are huge! There’s so much on the menu now I can’t wait to try this place over and over again in the coming months. They have a salad bar, and great beverage selection. The waitstaff is nice. I love that this restaurant is tucked away from the rest of the casino, no smoke and noise is bearable.

We came here for lunch and ordered house fried chicken with mashed potato. The mashed potato was so creamy and taste very good but not the fried chicken. Chicken was dry and the battered even had no flavor. It came with 4 pcs And ordered a beef gyro wrapped in flatbread and it was just okay. Not enough flavor. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here. Service was nice and friendly but too bad not for the food. It’s pricey too for standard casino type of food or maybe because the location is in Atlantis Casino

I often hear that our locally owned casino’s offer some great dining options, but that locals feel they can be inconvenient to access. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, having spent some time inside quite a few of them recently, aI think that this is just a misconception. Most seem to be laid out in a way that puts the restaurants pretty close to main points of entry. Purple Parrot is a perfect example! To get to the Purple Parrot, just park in the Virginia St. lot of the Atlantis, walk across the street, and enter the building. You’ll pretty much walk right into the restaurant, where you’ll find great diner faire like eggs, waffles, omelets etc. The service here is friendly and prompt and the food arrives quickly. I had a cup of coffee, two eggs(over easy) with a grilled ham steak, hash browns(extra crispy of course), and a biscuit. The eggs were perfectly cooked with nice runny yolks(the way I like em!), the ham steak had just the right amount of char, and the hash browns were crispy perfection! My friend had a mushroom omelet, which was enormous, filled with mushrooms and cheese, and way more food than she could handle. That’s just the way breakfast should be! Enough to tide you over to lunch or beyond, and it never hurts when it can be lunch too! When we were all done, I walked out the door just a few steps from the restaurant, crossed the street, and was in my car in no time. Purple Parrot will definitely be on my list of quick hits in the future.
