This savemart is great I’ll even go out of my way to come here. The store is a decent size and it is really clean which is always a huge plus for me. The vibe of the store and employees is very upbeat, not like scolaris where you can kinda feel the tension of the employees. I’ve been here in the morning, afternoon, and night and the employees are always friendly even when I’ve seen them deal with difficult people. The produce is good and they have a nice selection of pretty much anything you need, the liquor department has your basic choices for a grocery store. There is a deli and they make sandwiches when they are open but I have yet to try one. Overall it’s a good basic grocery store to get what you need, and the times I’ve been here and there has been a line I’ve seen the cashiers knock it out pretty quick.

I never thought I’d write a review of a grocery store but this SAVEMART deserves one. It is clean, well laid out, well stocked and competitively priced. They are one of the few offering Prime grade steak and it’s priced lower than Whole Foods. Their staff is friendly and helpful and the rewards program is well worth signing up for.

Great grocery store that is clean and organized. This location is well stocked with all the products you might be looking for to make a meal. The staff is great and Gigi is over the top! I would be okay with never hearing«Threes a crowd, there’s a crowd» when there are 4 people waiting in line. Spending 15 minutes in the store you will hear it a handful of times. I also use the pharmacy which is the best! If you are looking for a pharmacy that remembers your name and go beyond their job description to help you out.

They are the best of the middle level grocery stores…

This was one of the last stops we made on our way to Black Rock City, NV. We ran inside to grab some postcards to send to ourselves at Burning Man, but only found a card aisle instead. We ended up buying several birthday cards and tearing off the backs to make them into a one-page postcard. We stood in a slow line and paid for the cards and stamps, but were then told they have no outgoing mail or nearby PO boxes. They also wouldn’t let us leave the cards and put them in their own outgoing mail.(We luckily found a fitness equipment supply store nearby that was happy to mail our cards for us.) Service was friendly but it would have been nice to have a place to mail out the cards that they sell here.

I’ve never seemed to have a problem buying groceries here. The lines can be long on occasion but nothing out of the ordinary. Since my boys are still young I take full advantage of their children’s carts. The prices are a little higher than Winco but maybe slightly cheaper than Raleys.

There is one good Checker, Gigi. Otherwise, my opinion of this store it terrible. They are not diabetic friendly. The don’t carry 24 packs of soda, so I had to pay more to buy 12 packs. They only have vanilla sugar free ice cream. They don’t have a express lane. And, as other reviewers stated, the lead clerk is condescending and rude and abuses his power. One time I was checking out and he was behind me in line. I made an error thinking I had asked for money back. He jumps and tells me he was watching my transaction and I did not. Why was he watching my key stroke? The Plumb store is farther away from me, but it is so much better and has more sugar free products.

Save Mart is one of my normal grocery stores, but not my primary. I stop in when my primary store is out of something, doesn’t normally stock it, or when I see a good price on something in their weekly ad. This particular store is hardly ever busy, so they usually have only a couple checkout lines open at one time. That’s fine, until it does actually get busy and then you’ll be waiting for a while. This applies kind of everywhere in the store(deli, butcher, etc.) They seem to be running on a very limited staff. Produce is usually pretty good looking, well stocked, and it has bundles of herbs rather than those plastic packages that cost more and have way less in them. Their meat department is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes they have smoked salmon, ground turkey, chicken quarters, London broil — sometimes they don’t… And you really need to pay attention to the small print on their ads so you don’t get fooled into thinking that something costs one price, but that only applies to huge portion(like an entire salmon, not the portioned fillets). I guess what I like the most about this Save Mart is that it is so calm relative to my primary grocery store. No kids running around, no weirdos. Cashiers are quick, I know where most everything is, and it’s a convenient stop after my primary grocery store.

Let me start by saying that I have a soft spot in my heart for grocery stores. Maybe it’s because some of my earliest childhood memories are of my mom taking me to the neighborhood A&P, and later my favorite grocer Publix. Or maybe it’s the fact that my very first job, which lasted for five years through college, was for my local Albertson’s. Anyways, this is my favorite local grocery store. I go before work every shift and buy breakfast for my crew, and I shop there as much as possible for my home. While shopping for work at 0700, I’ll often see the store director arriving and diligently walking his store. Great customer service from all departments. The store is always clean, and shelves are well stocked and blocked. Good produce and meat departments, they’ve all been helpful whenever needed. The deli also has given me great customer service many times. Prices for all products are fair, if not what I’d expect to pay before going to a specialty store such as Costco. Good customer service from the front end. The cashiers are always fast and friendly, and if there’s ever a wait of more than three persons in line, you’ll hear the cashier call for backup«three’s a crowd». To sum up my review, great store. May be some nostalgia of my memories of Albertson’s and the years I spent working there, but I think it’s just overall a good example of what a customer wants in a grocery store.

this store offers the worst customer service The head clerk Daniel Farley should be retrained, demoted or fired he is passive aggressive and just a jerk. This is the third time I have had the displeasure of his poor customer service and now firmly believe that it’s just him and he enjoys people leaving his store unhappy. I certain that more people must have had the same or similar experience. I had a «rain check» for a sale item I wanted to use and they were short on the quantity of items needed to fill my rain check, thus I wanted to purchase what they had and use the balance on a return visit when they have more. Simple concept. No Mr Daniel Farley position is that I should surrender the rain check and to bad we only had a few of the items you need. Really are you saying that yes he was is and did. So SAVEMART train your people and honor your rain checks.

Awful!!! I had to return tortillas today because the bag was ripped open. Awhile ago I had to return bread because it had mold on it. Always check your food before you leave this grocery store

Decent grocery store. Not a great value, but acceptable. The noteworthy — the bread. Always fresh, good brands, like LaBrea and the other one from SF(the name totally escaped me). The employees are usually friendly and helpful. I honestly cannot think of one thing that is a con. It’s just your average chain grocery store. Thank you

I like this store — it isn’t up the standards of Raley’s or higher end stores like that, but they are always open and always have what you need in a pinch. Parking is easy and the prices are right. I prefer this one to the one on Plumb

I really dislike Savemart, and no I do not have any personal axe to grind, I just find them sorely lacking compared to some other stores in Reno: 1) pricing– way expensive on many items. If an item is not on their ad, you can generally expect to pay more for it than you would in most other area stores. 2)Stock– it looks to me like they are hurting financially and can’t afford to stock their stores. Last time I was there they had 3 full displays of pepsi taking up shelf space where other items would normally be found. 3) Gaudy shelf hanging price tags EVERYWHERE. I know this probably only bothers me, but I find it very annoying that they put sale tags on the shelves for EVERY item in the store, 95% of which are not on sale– what’s the point? Do they really think this conveys a message that everything in the store is on sale? 4) lousy meat, the meat is a lower quality than most other stores, I would put it on a par with Winco meat. I definitely would not go there and buy steak to serve to company, particularly since it would probably cost more than better quality meat at another store. I used to do about 80% of my shopping at Albertson’s even without comparing their prices to competitor’s I always felt even if not the cheapest, they were fair. I just don’t feel that way about Savemart, I think they are a rip-off store with a few loss leader items and a store full of crap that is very overpriced, taking advantage of the many people who don’t have the means or time to check prices. A few months ago, I went there to buy some Pepsi on sale and wanted to pick up some onions and Cilantro, both were 50% higher than Safeway’s or Raley’s — there is simply no excuse for that.

First off, I’m a fan of this chain. I do my regular shopping at the Spanish Springs store. I like it better than fighting the nightmare crowds at Wal Mart on any given Saturday. This particular store is close to my work so I run over there on my lunch hour to do some shopping so I don’t have to stop at my regular SM store in Spanish Springs after work. This store is clean and well-stocked, plus the employees are super nice and helpful, as they are at the Spanish Springs store. My only complaint about this store, vs. my regular Save Mart is that they push impulse buys when you check out. «Can I interest you in the cookies we have on sale today for $ 1.99?» Or like today… I bought a breast cancer T-shirt that they had for sale in the aisles. 13.99 for this shirt, and part of the sale goes to BC research. I like that, since I’m a BC survivor. When I was checking out, the cashier asked me if she could interest me in the sale of a re-usable pink bag, benefitting breast cancer research. I said no, as I don’t need anymore bags, plus I had bought the T-shirt, going to the same cause. Still… I felt like I wasn’t doing enough. I would rather have not been made to feel guilty(in my mind only) because I didn’t want the bag. Though the cashier didn’t do anything but ask, it was my own problem. :) Still. it’s annoying to be put on the spot, I think. Anyway, that part bugs me, but all in all, I like this store. It’s my go-to place for whatever.
