Well I see this woman Shannon who told me she is the owner of Soak has posted a comment below my review. All of the information is false. The business never offered me any kind of gift card and I will be checking to see if she actually made a donation to The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. While she wants to sound graceful, she is anything but. I received a text last night in which she threatened me, and told me that she was going to call the police on me, and call her attorneys if I did not take my review down off of Unilocal After spending an hour and a half at this business and the polish of which they used never dried, I had no obligation to to spend any more time at this establishment. I also have no obligation to pay for a faulty service. I told her she better have surveillance cameras to back up her accusations. I also told her I hope that I did not get an infection from the nick of which I received from her Nail Tech on my toe or she shall be hearing from my attorney. No matter what, she actually thought she could bully me and has come on here and continued exacerbating the situation. There are about 80 reviews here all negative concerning her business. What really needs to be done is perhaps managing her establishment better. Yes businesses make mistakes, but you don’t treat a client such as myself, the way that I have been treated. More needless drama…

Pricey pedicure from a gal too shy to make eye contact. While I was ‘soaking’ a weirdo came in and apologized for urinating on their property, which he claimed caused him to go to jail for three years. Not a safe place, not a fun place. Go to Peppermill for the same price, get a great pedicure plus all day at a safe, lovely spa.

I’m new to Reno and stumbled upon Soak while having lunch. After reading the reviews I made my appointment, and it definitely stood up to the high remarks online! Will definitely be coming back!

The quick therapy pedicure is exactly what the name says — very therapeutic and it doesn’t take very long. My toes look great, as always!

I’m new to the area so I have been dragged to a few nail salons with a friend to try a few places. SOAK was a nice reprieve from the other place she took me. I went 2 weeks ago for a pedicure. I had the Get Fresh Pedicure — they do everything from glow spray, to leg masks, to hot towels, to sugar scrub, and a massage. I really liked the color on my toes — it’s a hot hot hot highlighter pink color. It’s not gel but it’s really held up to the wear and tear I put on my feet from running and swimming. I believe the woman’s name is Maria —(I’m terrible with names) and she was very pleasant and talkative. They serve alcohol — I had an awesome margarita. We kept laughing because the salt on the rim of the glass kept falling into my shirt and well… disappearing in the abyss. I returned for a Get Fresh Gel Manicure this past Saturday — I really liked it and I got the same woman that did my pedicure. I booked online and booked the only open appointment — 6 – 650 and it was pretty quiet when I arrived. I order a Baileys Coffee this time — I need a kick with some wake-up and it was just that. I asked for gel polish and an ombré yellow to white on all of my nails — It took a little bit for her to do it and I ended up being the only one there. I felt bad to make her work later but she said no worried. My nails turned out awesome and the total ended up being ~$ 42 for the get fresh gel mani and my coffee which isn’t bad. I like the atmosphere and the people here — they do your fingers and toes all in a coffee lounge chair and the manicurist pulls up on a rolly chair and sits in front of you.

Soak is my favorite place for some pampering with my daughters. We love the atmosphere and the technicians are always wonderful. My daughters love the mocktails– they feel so spoiled! — and I like that I can relax with a glass of wine and don’t feel rushed.

Very disappointed in my experience during my last two visits at Soak. My mom had a seasonal manicure about a week prior to our visit together and her polish had chipped and snugged so badly she just wanted a polish change-which we found out they no longer offer. So we decided to get manicures. My manicure was just ok, the nail tech didn’t cut my cuticles at all which was disappointing. My polish job was even more of a disappointment. My nails smudged and have bed sheet imprints on them after getting a manicure at 3pm the day prior. My mom had the same problem. Please hire more experienced nail techs. I really wanted to love my experience at Soak cause I enjoy the environment and drinks but the service was very sub par.

What a better way to pamper yourself? Manicure and pedicure and a scrumptious cocktail? Absolutely! Great friendly staff, awesome purses and accessories. My favorite nail salon in town!

Is there really such a thing as a bad manicure? The answer is YES but not here! I have been visiting SOAK since I moved to Reno(almost 3 years ago) for my manicure/pedicures. I love the atmosphere here because I feel like I walked into Girly-Girl heaven… and what can I say I am a girly girl! I love the décor, the bling, and of course the cocktails! I mean i get wine and my nails done… heaven! I never request a particular tech because I always have a great experience with whoever they put me with. The concept is cool to me because they have comfy chairs that you sink into instead of sitting at a chair and table. They put a pillow on your lap and bring the manicure to you! Pedicure is the same way, you sit and they bring a big bowl to do the service. I always feel relaxed at SOAK and never feel like I am being rushed… a big plus for me! They have seasonal scrubs… I cannot remember what I did this time but I do remember it felt wonderful and the scent was clean but now over-powering. I think out of all the of the different choices I love their Get Fresh service the best as it is super hydrating. My mani/pedi always looks great, they have a ton of color choices, and it always lasts for a few weeks(4 if I behave). I also like the fact that I can book on-line because usually when I decide I need a mani/pedi it is 2 am so I can get on their site and book in my jammies! I have been to both SOAK locations but I like the one in the South the best because it feels more comfy to me BUT they are both nice!

I had high hopes but this place really fell short. No messaging chairs, no hot water for more than a few minutes because your feet are in a metal bowl, and the worst part toes that never dry! I will have to redo them myself:(

Much needed! My friend and I went here to get a pedicure, not only did they have a incredible buy one get one deal going on, but they treated us fantastic! The pedicure was amazing along with the foot massage. She took her time and didn’t rush at all. We were also given a complimentary drink, I got the Baileys coffee and it was perfect for a gloomy cold day. We were able to sit a talk after our appt was over and no one rushed us out or made us feel like we needed to leave. The atmosphere was cute, clean and spacey. Must go for every gal or guy!

I received a gift card to Soak for Christmas from a fantastic friend. She knew about my recent foot surgery and that I was in desperate need of a pedicure. I booked my appointment online for the get fresh pedicure — I love that I can book online instead of calling. They have a well stocked bar that you can order from with their own specialty drinks and wine too. They do not have the large massage chairs, instead they have large overstuffed chairs with throw pillows and they bring your soak to you in a large stainless bowl which was new for me. From there your tech comes out to take care of you. Kaylynn(Sp?) was great with me, she was sensitive to my foot injury and double checked to make sure I was okay throughout my pedicure. They have a large selection of colors for you to choose from and a little shopping area out front stocked with purses and jewelry. Soak would be a great place to go with a group of friends, special occasions or when you’re in the need for some extra pampering.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews for Soak South Creek! Granted, I am new to the mani/pedi world, but the seasonal pedicure I just received was an amazing way to start my weekend! Last summer, I had an ultra-hydrating mani & pedi done with my bridal party at the 2nd St. location. We had a wonderful time, but even as a mani/pedi virgin, I wasn’t very impressed with the french tips I received because they were thick and uneven, kinda Frankenfoot-ey. I didn’t think that the prices were outrageous, but I wasn’t wowed enough to justify a return… Today, however, I had a seasonal pedi at the South Creek location, and I am officially converted to the church of Soak! I think that the 2nd St. location is really cute, but I definitely prefer the South Creek location. My experience at Soak South Creek was much roomier and more tranquil than the experience I had at 2nd St. This is not a criticism of the 2nd St. location, just an inevitable effect of operating out of a cute, small 1920’s style home. My nail tech, Kaitlynn(my apologies if I botched the spelling), was so friendly, comforting and relatable! Mandy, the nail tech serving the client next to me, was equally awesome. Both ladies also have great technique! I would gladly return to South Creek for a service from either of these ladies! If you’re going to spend the money to visit Soak, do yourself a favor and go with a seasonal treatment. I enjoyed my previous ultra-hydrating treatments, but they just can’t compete with a seasonal treatment! I wish that Soak posted their current seasonal treatments on their website… I can understand the element of surprise for regular clients, but as one who seldom treats myself to a mani/pedi, I want to know that I’m signing up for a seasonal treatment that I like(e.g. If the seasonal Tx featured lavender, I’d be on board; If the seasonal Tx featured vanilla, not so much…). You can find this info by researching their FB page, but it can take a bit of digging into their timeline to find out what the current offerings are. The cocktails are delicious! As I was looking through the menu today, there were several different options I’d have liked to try, but I couldn’t deviate from their excellent French 775. It’s literally a party in your mouth, and everyone’s invited! I wish they owned a bar, too… In short, Soak is a premium nail salon in Reno and the seasonal Tx’s are well worth it! As far as standard soaks go, the price point may or may not be worth the price of admission. Note: The tipping system here can be confusing. You CAN leave a tip if you use a debit card, but you can’t leave a tip if you use a credit card. This was an issue when I booked my bridal party, and we all had to find an ATM afterwards to leave a tip because I had to use my CC to secure our reservation.

I went to the foothill rd location last saturday. The good: the greeter and the girl who did my nails were really nice. The bad: –Lighting is horrible — so bad that I’m attributing the really bad French on my toenails to it as she did a much better job on my fingernails, however., — the quality. For a $ 125 gel/shellac service($ 102 + tip), I’d expect it to be perfect. It’s not. Many splotches on my toes, fingernails are just okay. Lots of overspill onto cuticles. — comfort of the chairs. While my girl did her best to get situated so that my legs weren’t in an awkward position, she kept sliding backwards(likely seeking light to work by) so I felt like I was going to fall out of the chair. — the drink offerings. When I was seated, they gave me a drinks menu but never took my order until the girl doing my service came to my chair. Summary. Not worth it. UPDATE – the manager contacted me the day after I posted this. She was very nice and wanted to make things right and asked for photos. Offered to redo my pedi. But until they have co for table chairs, I declined the offer but upped the overall review to 2 stars.

I spent some time online looking at pictures of manicures done at Soak and and I saw a lot that I liked — done by Angela. I called and scheduled an appointment with Angela for a Get Fresh mani and pedi. I was greeted as soon as I walked into Soak… I couldn’t find the color I wanted, and the lady at the front spent some time helping me look — she even brought out colors that were new and hadn’t been introduced yet. Angela was fantastic — her massages are awesome! She helped me decide on a design for my nails and made some great suggestions for things to try. My appointment was scheduled to last two hours — and it ran about two and a half. I didn’t mind the extra time — I appreciated that Angela was taking her time to make me feel pampered and she was trying really hard to make sure I was pleased with my mani and pedi! I only have one negative to my appointment — I saw a really cute purple purse and didn’t get it! I may have to schedule another appointment with Angela — and next time that purse is going home with me!

This incident happened over a week ago and I am still seething about it. Not only did I receive a terrible manicure, but the process in which the ordeal was handled by management was absolutely unacceptable. I came in for a regular Gel Fill Manicure — just like I have done every 2 weeks since I’ve moved to Reno 3 months ago. I always get french tip and I’ve had several different technicians at both this location and the one downtown — although everyone has a different technique there has always been a standard among them and I have always left completely satisfied. This particular day, I had Cassie. As sweet and friendly as she is, she is a terrible technician. I had to correct her several times during the service to straighten the smile lines –which seemed to be very difficult for her to do. Usually the service takes about 1 hour and 15 min or 1.5 hours — we were approaching that mark and she hadn’t finished the other hand yet. I decided then and there I would have to come back and get them redone because I didn’t have time to have her start over from scratch or have someone else do them. Upon check out I told the receptionist that I would like to make an appointment to have these redone. She looked at my nails and agreed that they were terrible. She then went into the back and spoke to management via phone(no one was on site that day) to which she told me that my next visit would be complementary and I was given a $ 5 gift card for my inconvenience. I said to her… that sounds fine… but I would rather have this session be comped and I would happily pay for my re-do with someone that I’ve had before(Clarissa — who is fabulous). She said they couldn’t do that(for whatever reason I never fully understood) and so I paid for my awful service and came back 2 days later to have them redone. I was also told that the manager would call me and speak to me directly about this matter — who never called. When I was leaving after my second appointment I was stopped and told that«I don’t know who told you that this would be free, but it’s against our policy. You’re going to have to pay for this service as well.» I said… you’ve got to be kidding me. In no other service industry, i.e. hair salon, car mechanic, restaurant, etc. would you be expected to pay for terrible service and then double pay when the service is done right. She explained that I would have had to re-do my nails the same day that I originally made the complaint. As I stated on that day, I didn’t have time to devote another 1.5 hours to getting them done that day. I had to hire another sitter for my baby on a different day in order for me to come in – and to make matters worse, I was going out of town that day to attend a family wedding for the weekend. Even after all that, the receptionist firmly stood her ground«I’m sorry — it’s just our policy that we’ve always had.» I refused to pay and left. I was called 6 hours later by someone(NOTMANAGEMENT) who said they would make an exception in this case and not charge me for the service. Gee… thanks… Moral of the story… I am NEVER coming back here and I will strongly dissuade others from doing so. If you decide to take the gamble and go to this establishment, I hope that you have the luck of getting a great technician. But if you happen to get a mediocre one, you have been warned — they will not try to make it right and they will force you to double pay for it.
