My friend and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch here today. We both had the chicken sandwich, mine had bacon on it and I had a house salad and my friend had the fries. I just love going there, it is so cool inside, and you can eat out on there patio also. Our server Kara was awesome, our orders were perfect. And arrived in a timely manner .Also enjoyed a nice glass of Chardonnay. Cool and refreshing. To top it off you get fresh warm cookies for dessert. They offer many different entrees and salads. Another favorite of mine is there 2 scoop tuna salad. It just doesn’t seem like summer unless I eat at The Grille at Quail Corners. Love it!

I was disappointed with our seating and the service. The place was nearly empty yet we were seated right by the garden door which is very unpleasant with servers in and out. The food is good but pricey. I doubt we will return.

This is the first time my husband and I went to The Grill At Quail Corners and we will definitely be going back. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Their service was excellent and friendly and the food was even better. My husband had the biggest salmon steak I can remember seeing along with mushroom risotto. I ordered the Margherita pizza which was very good. The tomatoes and basil were fresh and the mozzarella was made with whole milk rather than skim, which makes a big difference in the taste. We are looking forward to going back.

The Grill at Quail Corners has been one of our regular dining spots and always pleases. It is one of those places where we are sure to run into friends any time we stop in. The restaurant is filled with natural light during the day and in warm weather there is patio dining. At night the lighting is subtle but not so low that you can’t read the menu comfortably. The bar area offers a great place for a drink and appetizers or if your dining alone. Even if you are not dining alone your fellow bar mates are likely to strike up a conversation or not mind if you do. We have a favorite table as well as a favorite wait person, so we always try to make reservations. Though we have found all the staff to be very helpful and very professional. The Francovich’s run a tight ship and much of their staff has been with them for a long time. This makes for a very good vibe, and a warm, lively comfortable dining experience. As for the food. The lunch menu has a great selection of salads, sandwiches, pasta’s pizza plus excellent specials. I really like the Burger and I always get it with the shoestring fries. The Pepper Steak starter is also a favorite of mine. Salads are always fresh and beautifully presented. I especially like the the Crab Salad and the Quail Cobb that comes with a choice of tuna, chicken or steak. Plus the Pizza’s are always tasty. The Atkins Plate is also a favorite. The menu expands at dinner with steaks, chops, chicken and a good selection of fish and pasta dishes. I have enjoyed the Cioppino among other fine offerings and the Louie-Louie salad is perfect if you want something lighter but still filling. Lunch and dinner always offers some of the best seafood dishes in Reno. Happy Hour offers half off on small plates between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m. with a good selection of tasty offerings including ahi poke, Kobe sliders and steamed clams. Drinks are expertly prepared and the wine list is well thought and offers a good selection of wines by the glass and bottle that are reasonably priced. If you haven’t been to the Grill at Quail Corners you are missing out on a fine but casually chic dining experience. So go and ask to sit at one of Sunshine’s tables because we all need a little sunshine in our life. You’ll be happy you did.

My husband, adult son, and I had dinner here last Friday night. It was pretty busy but there was a table in the back available, so we took it. This was the only negative to our experience, since there was a lot of traffic since we were next to the bathroom. The rest of the experience was fantastic. The wines by the glass list is great, husband tried a different red blend and I had the rombauer Chardonnay. Appy was a delicious fried mozzarella with sun dried tomatoes in white wine, so good! I had the fresh halibut, husband had the short rib pappardelle, and son had the brothy chowder and steamed clams, all perfectly prepared and delicious. They always make the best soups of the day, interesting and never disappoints. Dessert was the bread pudding, excellent and plenty to share for the 3 of us. Highly recommend!

Having a fabulous time with my girl crew here at the grill. I love their friendly faces and more importantly the food. Go here for THEBEST fresh sea food in reno. Tonight’s salmon came with a side of risotto. Slrrrp and the magic dissapearing bread. Soft atmosphere with a dressy feel. Love stopping by for a glass of wine or oinking out on food. Feel the love here at the grill.

This place had great potential but fell short with the portion of the food when we order the cioppino barely a crab leg and had to wait a very long time for the food to be prepared but the waitress was amazing offering us desserts on the house .Good wine selection but not too many by the glass. veggies were good. this was on our list of new places to try. May be back

We had a fantastic dinner last night at the Grill. Salmon over mushroom risotto covered with a maple glaze. Wonderful! Very friendly staff. Owners Sam and Marisa Francovich(father & daughter) do a great job with their restaurant. Highly recommend.

I know I just reviewed this place, but that was for business lunches. This time I came back because as I was browsing their website I saw that the happy hour menu looked enticing especially at ½ off prices! It was such a nice selection I brought my best friend from work with me. Here is the menu I liked: We get there and sit in the bar lounge area. Right away I inquire about the happy hour menu. Our server directs us to the small bar menu at the table. Here there is listed a smaller happy hour menu that looks nothing like the nice menu that brought me here! Disappointed, I ask what’s the deal with this little menu with all items priced at $ 6.00? instead of the menu listed on the website. Apparently, the menu on the website is an old menu by the previous chef. So, change the freakin’ website damn it! I came here specifically because of the nice item on that menu. OK, Oh well, we’ll make the best of the situation. At least the wines are marked down some. We start with the fried calamari, potato skins and pot stickers, each priced at $ 6.00. The wine we ordered was the Pinot Noir at $ 5.00 per glass. I will say when the wine arrived, they were generous pours. Happy hour now runs from 4pm till 6pm everyday except Sun when they are closed. The place is not very crowded compared to lunch time. For some reason, the food takes a long time to arrive, but what the hell, we have wine and conversation to keep us «happy». The food arrives with the calamari and potato skins first. The potato skins come as 1 potato, hollowed out and cut into 4 pieces, topped with bacon and some cheese and broiled. Sour cream is served in the middle ramekin. The calamari comes atop a folded cloth napkin to absorb grease with 2 dipping sauces on the side. I thought the portion could have been a little more generous on the potato skins, but I guess that’s small plates for ya. The calamari was actually some of the best fried appetizer calamari I’ve had. Lightly battered and fried just right to be tender and not greasy at all. This is a good one to pick. The potato skins were decent, I may have left a bit more potato on the skin and filled with a bit more cheese and bacon… not a bad version, but nothing to get too excited over, Then the pot stickers arrive. I really should learn my lesson about not ordering Chinese food items when not in a Chinese restaurant! I’m sorry, but this was one of the poorest executions of an order of pot stickers I’ve come across. I could tell they were previously frozen and I think at the end of the bag as there was freezer burn on them. They weren’t properly rehydrated as the skins were thin and too dense and chewy, as opposed to soft a pliable. We only got five, so I’m thinking that’s all there was left in the bag, since it’s rare to present on order with an odd number of pot stickers, you get 6 or 4… not 5. See the pics tot see how bad these were. Just never order these here! Oh well, you can’t have all winners sometimes. More wine and more food! We select the pork belly($ 6.00) and get a side of fries($ 3.50) to go with that. Wine is poured well again. Our second round of food arrives and of wow! That pork belly looks splendid, although it could have used a little more garnish to be plated well. The fries were a nice big mound and hot. Snacking on the fries, they are very good here… a winner in the fries! Now as for this pork belly, it comes as two small slices maybe ¼ inch thick and 2 square inches … yes, I do know my measurements! It’s dressed in a ponzu reduction sauce that’s quite tasty and goes well with the pork belly. Normally, with pork belly you’ll get a few layers of fat, but this one was particularly lean … of course I don’t mind a little fat! My friend sliced off a piece and tasted, I could see her eyes light up in delight with a big smile, as she presents me with a small morsel on her fork. I lean over as she inserts that morsel into my mouth and my lips close as the fork withdraws. Oh YUMMERS, totally! The softness of the slow cooked belly mixes with the thickened ponzu reduction as I feel the slight fattyness of the meat come into play as I chew with the sweet and salty sauce. Yes, this is the triangle of pleasure… salt, fat and sugar! The flavor is intense for the size of meat on the fork. Eat this in small bites as you savor the pleasures in your mouth, chew slowly to extract all the goodness out of it before you swallow. There isn’t a lot of meat on the plate, but you don’t need much of this to get the happy feet under the table going, remember intense in small doses. I had started to feel not so good about the menu switch and the lackluster pot stickers, but the pork belly and fries made up for those missteps. The calamari was excellent as well. Averaging out I’m going go with 4 stars, as I would come back for the happy hour, just knowing what to get and what to avoid.

The grilled mozzarella is by far the best appetizer in town!!! The service is superb and the entrees were worth every calorie. This is one of the best restaurants Reno has to offer!

I have been coming to the Grill since the day it opened. The restaurant has great food selections and cocktail confections. The Grill is owned and operated by Sam and his amazing family. The staff is always great and the food is very consistent. Everything I want out of a restaurant. 5 star top notch rating!

The only good part of this experience was our server. The hideous produce on every dish was the linchpin. Seafood cocktail: overpriced, but fresh. Only two prawns, three little shrimp, and a small mound of crab for $ 18. Rubbery celery garnish.(you might notice in my picture that it looks like a large mound of crab. There is a mass of shredded lettuce underneath to make it look like more) Flank steak dip x2: super fatty meat, untoasted, mushy bread, twice-fried stale fries. Regular burger: completely unseasoned on the inside and charred on the outside, causing the burnt bitter taste of charcoal and fire to linger almost 20 minutes after eating one small bite. The tomato and onion had been clearly left out for a long time. «Schezuan» shrimp salad: ALL purple cabbage in some disgusting sugary dressing with four tiny shrimp on top. Manhattan clam chowder: tasted like Progresso. The undoing: My mom asked for a different dressing on the salad and the server advised that they’d just replace the produce and keep the same shrimp. What? Seriously? GIVEHERNEWSHRIMP. After that, we realized that everything was terrible and decided that we didn’t want to eat any of it. They didn’t charge us for the seafood cocktail and we left.

I come here semi-regularly for lunch since it’s pretty close to the office. In general you can expect a pretty good meal, rubbing elbows with Reno’s business class. Other than the Prospector’s Club, this is essentially the place to be seen. Gets pretty busy and sometimes there’s a wait for a table. So, the food is usually really good. They’ve got some tasty salads(Seared Ahi, Spinach and Chicken Salad), sandwiches(California Chicken, Roast Beef), and always have yummy sounding daily specials. This most recent time I got the special Cuban Sandwich. It was good, but not over-the-top good, and certainly not $ 16 good. The side salads and/or fries are tasty. Why no five stars? Well, the price. Good thing when I go I’m usually not the one paying, but I probably wouldn’t come here on my dime. There are a couple sandwiches around $ 11 or $ 12, but many are in the $ 15 range, salads between $ 15 – 22, and other entrees are $ 15 and up. Kind of feels like SF on that budget. Service is usually friendly too. But again, I certainly don’t mind coming here when someone else is footing the bill!

They mention on Unilocal that they are open till 10, I walk in today at 9 pm and after I get seated the waitresses tells me that the kitchen is closed. Real really unprofessional and mean. I drove all the way to this place from the airport. I’ll make sure I never come here again nor recommend anyone. There war a million places to eat in reno and this is not the one?!

Totally pleased with our dinning experience. The food was excellent; the service good. The facilities a little spartan but OK. I would agree with a previous reporter’s comment though that it is a little«pricey». As that reporter said, an included salad or soup would be appreciated. Pricey or not though, we are certainly going to visit again soon.

Went to The Grill for lunch on a Thursday. I don’t get to come here too often because of its location, but since we’re in the area(doing some shopping at Lowe’s), it was a no-brainer to come here. It appeared that we beat the lunch hour rush so we got seated right away. First of all, the food selection is great and sort of unique. Not fast-foody at all. I had the Atkins plate(don’t judge!) — burger without the buns with mushroom, avocado, and bacon. Yes, bacon(see pic). My companion ordered the 2scoop salad –1 chicken curry and 1 tuna. Our orders arrived in a flash. I mean, seriously. It’s almost like they knew what we were getting and had it ready before we ordered, it was THAT fast. My burger was floating on a mushroom sauce/almost soup type thing. It was DELICIOUS! It was the perfect portion too, maybe a tad more, but I ate the whole thing. I wouldn’t/haven’t eaten a whole burger in a long time but I didn’t have problem with this one. The 2scoop salad was also yummy. I managed to steal a bite of each of the tuna and the chicken scoop. Very tasty indeed. I wouldn’t mind ordering those for myself next time. For dessert, we had the apricot bread pudding. Look, I usually pass on desserts during lunch, but I have a thing for bread pudding so I had to try this one. And I’m glad I did. It was light, not too sweet, and was complemented nicely with the vanilla ice cream. This was definitely considered a cheat meal for me but who cares. It was worth every bite. As we were leaving, the lunch crowd has started to descend to The Grill. It got packed pretty quickly. So, if you’re going, time it a little bit early, or expect a little bit of a wait. But they got plenty of room, so don’t let that stop you from going. Highly recommended!

I’ve been here numerous times and the best word is ‘consistently fantastic’! Okay — so it was two words, big deal!!! Point is, this is a 5 star joint if there ever was one. The service is fantastic — a lot can be said for a place when you see the same personnel there each time you visit over time. They obviously take care of their people and their people take care of the customers. The food is perfect. Great portion sizes with fantastic specials daily and there is a certain elegance on every plate. The kitchen crew obviously cares about the product they are putting out and it shows. Kudos to the ownership as they have it figured out.

There are a few reasons I visit The Grill at least once a month: Their bread is served warm and so is the butter. I think I swooned the first time I experienced this. The chocolate cake is divine, sinful, amazingly good AND it’s plenty big enough to share, or selfishly hoard for days to myself. Lastly is the service. Always impeccable! Their nightly specials are something to look forward to as well. Most recently I had Hawaiian Marlin with Israeli couscous. It was life changing.

It’s really 4.5 stars, but I will round up for being a local business. Tonight I finally convinced my fiancé to take me out and we had a killer coupon for signing up for their rewards program(hint: also an amazing thing) so I brought him here, since I have been wanting to try more of the promising menu since my first visit. Started off with a very tasty Bloody Mary($ 7-$ 8) and a house gin and tonic($ 5), fiancé enjoyed the amount of fresh lime. The two specials sounded amazing(a pan seared halibut topped with scallops) but we settled on the first special of 14 oz prime rib special(Saturdays only?) and the cioppino, both for $ 27(we didn’t know the prime rib price until the check). No soup, salad or appetizers tonight. We were curious about the steamer clams, but since we got cioppino we obviously didn’t get these. I was pretty hungry so the food seemed like it took a while but in reality probably wasn’t that long. Also without having any salad or soup that doesn’t take time up. Regardless the atmosphere and ambience is perfect date night and we got to have a real conversation while waiting :) We skipped the patio due to a bit chilly and there were some kids that were kinda running around willy nilly, which killed the classy atmosphere The Grill works hard for. I was extremely happy with both of the entrees. The mashed potatoes were the lightest and airy-est tators I’ve ever had and while they were out of the original asparagus vegetable I received the seasonal veggies instead. You get these type of veggies everywhere but these had real taste! Not just oil and they were cooked perfect. Squash, carrots and even some spinach. I normally need gravy with mashed potatoes but not here. The prime rib was so tasty… Tender and flavorful and came out a perfect medium rare like I ordered. The cioppino size was a little deceiving in the dish and my fiancé felt while it was good, not worth it in his mind. The style is a pretty traditional version and he does like a thicker broth he told me. We both ate it up though and were still happy. No sand in any clams and pretty big diver scallops, no wimpy bay scallops here either. The king crab was a nice change from dungeness or no crab at all. Two big pieces of toasted bread to sop up the extra broth was also given. It’s a nice place for nice dinner and I could see us headed back for happy hour or another special occasion. I love supporting local and like I said the ambience was pretty nice. I was probably a bit more satisfied with the experience than my fiancé who did enjoy the prime rib, but just felt the cioppino wasn’t worth the $ 27. Doesn’t mean we can’t try other stuff, like that other halibut special ;) The food was much more memorable this time around and in fact still salivating thinking about that prime rib! I appreciate the rewards/club program, which I forgot to use my card(derp), but we did have a $ 20 off coupon(minimum purchase of $ 50 and had an expiration date) just for signing up which is pretty generous. It’s something like $ 15 off every 250 points. I’m not sure of my points would have counted tonight anyways. Regardless, made the ding in the wallet a little less severe ;) I wanted to try more dessert but we were pretty stuffed by the end.
