New owners + new chef = great food and service! If you want authentic Chinese food this is the place to go in Renton. Ordered the house special chow mein Hong Kong style, fried rice, and salt n’ pepper chicken wings. The bar next door also has a new LCDTV… great place to watch sports. Will definitely be back!

A $ 60.00 meal for four A dinners to go. Food spilled all over in the bags. Food Styrofoam containers showed evident signs of the food being microwaved in them and holes in the bottom of the containers due to the heat of the microwave. Anyone that has any brains knows better than to heat food in Styrofoam containers in a microwave because of the health hazards it can cause and one of them is known to be cancer. We were stupid to eat it; but it really didn’t dawn on us until later what we were eating had been cooked in a microwave. We were appalled after the fact when it clicked in our ignorant minds we got served food that way. That had to mean the food was ordered for someone else to go and they did not come and pick it up and my family got the old food sitting around reheated in the microwave and sold to us. The food didn’t taste right. I hope my family don’t get cancer in the future from eating that food that was microwaved in those white Styrofoam containers. We don’t want to eat there anymore. My family and I would rather eat 4 bowls of buzzards puke than to eat at this place again. YUCK Just so you know we were told by a lady named Linda that another Linda owned the place when this happened and this new Linda is taking over. Sorry; but I don’t trust this person or persons after what happened. She offered $ 30.00 towards the next dinner; but after thinking her offer over for awhile after this happened I don’t have any trust in her. I will pass on this offer and buy my Chinese food somewhere else and I have every right to feel this way.

I love this family friendly restaurant. It was a great portion of food for the amount we paid. Food comes out hot and great tasting. No grocery time, prepping, cooking, and no dishes!!! The family leaves full and happy.

I went here for lunch special. The mongolian beef was awesome so was the price especially for a broke high school kid. The waiter was dressed all nice in a suit i was like what!!! He made me feel welcomed, and I saw him help a really old guy to the table, because his homies were too old to help him. Good food, good people’s!!!

I enjoyed an authentic Chinese dinner with my little family. We started our meal with a couple cocktails at the bar — Justin the bartender was so friendly and funny! We ordered the crab and fish maw soup, honey walnut prawns, seafood hot pot and the squab. The dishes were delicious… we wanted to order more but we didn’t have anymore tummy space. We received excellent customer service… it was a family like atmosphere. The staff there are so sweet… we are hooked for good.

Leaning towards 3.5 stars. The service is always friendly, but the food is about what you would expect at a your typical Chinese restaurant. I visited recently, but I’ve been here almost 10 different occasions for family gatherings. We usually stick to ordering the same types of dishes each time so here are my thoughts on a few… **Sizzling Rice Soup — This is a chicken broth with chopped vegetables and finely cut seafood(shrimp & scallops) that is a nice start to your meal. Blocks of crisp rice are added to the soup, which is the«sizzle» — this adds a slightly crispy texture and toasted flavor. **Honey Walnut Prawns — The sauce was more on the tart side and applied pretty liberally. However, the prawns had a perfect thin breading. **Garlic Green Beans — Green beans are surprisingly one of my favorite Chinese dishes. However, I was a bit disappointed with these. They were garlicky, but the sauce was salty and the beans were overcooked(wilted) and pretty stringy. **Fried Cod in Soy Sauce — The fish was fried nicely, but gets soggy quick as it’s served sitting in the sauce. I wish the sauce had a milder flavor as it masks the flavor of the fish and is quite salty for my taste. **Honey Garlic Pork Chops — The pork was lean overall with a sweet honey glaze and crispy garlic sprinkled on top. I wish this had more of a savory flavor. The portions were fairly large and enough for 8 – 10 people. With a table of 9(7 adults, 3 kids), we had nine different dishes and ended up having a small amount leftover. Dessert is complementary here, which includes fortune cookies and either a red bean or tapioca soup. Both are slightly sweet and served warm. I like the tapioca one, which is full of chewy, tiny tapioca pearls in addition to small pieces of taro.

My family used to come here for years for dining in and take-out. The food was good, the service was descent and the price was fair. But, the last few experiences finally broke us and we decided to stop coming. Dining in: We ordered two family combo dinners which we have had before in the past. On three different separate occasions, 1. Portions came out smaller on some dishes from what we experienced many times before 2. Food quality tasted different. We ordered a chicken hot pot and the chicken was supposed to be fried and then stir fried. We asked if we received the right dish and our server was rude in telling us that we did. Acting as though we couldn’t read or understand what we ordered. 3. They suddenly started to add an additional charge for white rice. This change came out of nowhere. So suddenly their family dinners no longer include steam rice and we were charged an additional $ 16. Mind you, we have been coming here for years. And we know what we have ordered in the past. We never like to complain, especially considering we were regulars and they know our faces. However it finally got to a point when it felt like it was more effort than it was worth. Take-out: Family decided to dine in and we ordered some $ 225 worth of takeout. We decided to go individual dishes this time since we had company over. On this order our Mongolian Beef: they forgot to add the vermicelli noodles to the bottom Garlic Chicken: Almost all green peppers Honey Walnut Prawns: They forgot the walnuts! Service: They had some different servers who were rude. They would try to up-sell us after we ordered, and would press us with comments«That will not be enough. You sure?». We would politely respond with, «I think we are fine for now, but we can add more dishes if it turns out it is not enough.» The server just rudely walks away. No response. Not a word. We actually should have left after that, but we did not. Owner: The owner is a very nice lady. However we’ve experienced too many mixed experiences both on food and service. It just isn’t worth putting up with especially with so many restaurants in the area. Food is descent, however it is inconsistent. So it can be hit or miss.

I have lived here for a little over a year and love Chinese food. I have stopped by this restaurant for carry out as it is on my way home. I do not order over the phone. 5 times I have stopped and purchased food to take home. It takes a little over 5 minutes and I do not mind the wait. The problem I have is the food. I never complain about meals but this time I’ve had enough. It doesn’t matter what I get. The food tastes burned Don’t know if the ingredients are precooked and they just throw them in a wok that food has been burned in. I don’t care. Last week I tasted the food after I got my order. I told them it tasted burnt. I wanted something else. They said no burgers here. Guess they thought I said hamburger. $ 58 for burned tasting food. I wanted money back and they said no for food. I will never step foot in there again.

Pretty good overall. I loved the hot and sour soup and appreciated it was a soup of the day offering. The honey walnut shrimp was tasty and not too sweet. I was a little disappointed in the kung pao chicken. Not very spicy, too much crunchy celery and the sauce wasn’t as rick as I usually like. The sweet and sour pork was good but I wished I’d gotten chicken instead as the pork tasted a little old. The almond chicken was DELICIOUS and probably our favorite item. The bbq pork was good too and the servings were quite generous. The waitstaff were quite attentive and the prices were reasonable as well.

Haven’t been here in a few years and am happy to report that they still have pretty good Chinese food. We had the 6 dish family meal and they give you a soup and honey walnut prawns as well. The free range chicken is popular here. Everything was fresh and the flavors were on point. Good«wok hea«. Dishes sizes were about average, but given pricing it was acceptable. A bowl of rice is $ 1.50 so go for the tub for $ 6.00. They also have a bar and Chinese American food if that’s your thing.

We were looking for a new chinese place in the renton to venture to. This looked like a decent choice as we were in the area hoping to get sushi but it was closed for the day. We got the tofu and chicken hot pot and beef chow fun. The hot pot was nothing like we we imagined, we expected a bubbling big pot of soup but what came out was a thick porridge like plate of tofu??? Im not sure if this is Mandarin style hot pot and I just had no idea but it seemed off. I was hoping it would taste good still and unfortunately it was a sloppy salty mess of tofu and tiny bits of chicken. The chow fun was ok, it was a but burned and unevenly cooked noodles. The service was ok and prices were a little high for what we got. I never waste food and always take leftovers home. But this tasted so poorly we didnt even box up the rest.

Good service and good food. We went to dinner after a high school graduation because we didn’t want to cook at home since we were hosting a grad party the next day. Ours was a large party(15) with out of town guests including several children. We ordered the 8 entrée combination and the 4 entry combination plus two separate entrees. We will come back again. Super happy to good place that takes reservations for large parties. Thank you Mandarin Palace!

Receptionist at work told me this was the place to go for Almond Fried Chicken. I ordered a combo meal with that and another selection. Tasted very good and got a ton of rice with it.

We had a big group and decided to go for family style Chinese food. Our dinner came with soup, honey walnut prawns, steamed rice and we got to choose 8 different entrees… plus dessert soup! Our favorites are the Peking Duck and the Fried Cod with soy sauce. They have a Chinese American menu and an authentic Chinese menu, we ordered off of both. The menu has been reduced since the last time we were here but they still have tons of items to choose from. The owner is really nice and aims to please.

My parents like to come here because it’s close to their home and if they don’t feel like cooking, we go here for some Chinese food. The food is pretty good and the service is friendly. I like their chow mien and chow fun and my husband likes their sweet and sour chicken.

Owners Care! I love this place. The owners, Kenny & Linda, have been wonderfully kind to our family over the years. It feels good to support a local business with a heart.
