This place is a good place for late night and good for side dish too. The owner here is nice. He make really good side dish and I love it. The karaōke system is not really new. But is still a good place to hangout with friends for late night.

Extremely sketchy. Not only is renting a room expensive($ 30/hr or more) but the kareoke software is foreign and crashes. In addition it’s BYOB, but they charge up to FORTYDOLLARS per bottle just to bring it in. Lastly there’s some sketchiness with the prices. I bought a soda that was $ 1.99 on the menu but was charged $ 2.51 after tax. Pretty sure tax is not over 25%…

To sum it up, the food was not tasty & overpriced(4 wings for $ 6?), the staff/service was slightly rude and less than helpful, and in terms of the song selection(aside from it being initially difficult to maneuver) other than Beyoncé & Taylor Swift’s catalogue, the database was 2 – 3 years out of date. So don’t expect to sing many songs from even 2014’s Top 40. What really upset me was I purchased a Groupon that was supposed to cover the entire cost. But as I was leaving they charged me an additional $ 15.75 for tax and tip, even though this was no where stated on the Groupon or their out-of-date and underdeveloped website. Also, the manner in which they explained the fee was nonsensical but I won’t get into that. The only reason why this doesn’t have 1 star is because my party & I still had fun. But that was because we made it fun.

This place was just ok, what made it fun was friends. The song selections they have are pretty bare so we got stuck with some ok songs, it was missing some really popular somgs while having others, so if your looking for specific songs, its hit and miss. Staff was fine… nothing special, but no complaints.

Their website said they updated the machine with the newest popular songs weekly but their selection was very very sad. They didn’t have any of Taylor Swifts songs from her recent albums or even to the most popular songs by backstreets boys, I want it that way. It was just the obscure random music from pop artists that were popular maybe in the 2000s and even then they didn’t have their hit songs. The place was clean and the employee was really friendly but this place was a major disappointment. You go to a karaōke place to sing those pop songs you here on the radio but you can’t have fun when they only have songs you haven’t really heard of…

This place is a joke! DON’T do it. The rooms are not that great. The sound is bad. And, they advertise BYOB, but when you get there they tell you it is $ 1 to open EACH bottle of beer and $ 20 to open EACH bottle of wine. $ 20! That is insane! I wish I could give this place no stars. The girl at the front desk is also very rude. Run away from here!

I would rate this lower if i could. Drinks are over priced and you have to leave the room to ask for more drinks. Dont expect them to keep separate tabs either cause they either cant or wont. They will also add a 18% tip without warning. Will not be going back or steering anyone there. song selection was lacking and hard to figure out.

This place is great! The staff was extremely friendly and quick to serve when we needed more drinks. The karaōke system was a little difficult to navigate, at least the English portion, but after a few minutes, we started to figure it out. No, this place doesn’t have all the«bells and whistles» that some karaōke places have, but if you’re looking for a karaōke group hangout that’s just a lot of fun, I highly recommend.

My initial thought upon checking out Mermaid: what a funky, price-gouging place. I still had a fun time with my group but, looking at them as a business, they need to work on things. Their drink selection is available for you to see at the front desk. Not in a presentable way, of course: it’s still in their respective packaging.(Think as if you made a Wal-Mart run & set your bags on top of the kitchen counter.) So if you want a $ 1.99 can of Coke or a small bottle of Ciroc for the ridiculous club-like price of $ 60, they’ll pull it right out of the packaging & hand it over to you. Just like that. I feel sad about paying 3 – 8 times more than the actual cost when it’s that obvious. Unfortunately, there’s no medium like a $ 10 bottle of soju/sake(probably because it’s Chinese-run) so feel free to ball-so-hard just because you’re thirsty & have no other option. They MIGHT do BYOB but I highly doubt it. No remote control & no strobe lights. Not digging the stationary touch screen because you literally have to get up & play musical chairs with everyone just to take a shot at finding your favorite song. FYI, they charge per group amount and not simply by room size. Their pricing tier is $ 30/hr for 1 – 5 people, $ 35 for 6 – 10, and $ 40 for 11 – 15. These are weekend prices & the prices drop by $ 5/hr on weekdays.

Ummmmmm, do you want to sing a song you know, then keep it moving. This probably isn’t the place for you.

Typical KTV place. Nothing extremely stands out. It’s fairly clean. Chairs are relatively comfortable. They have a touch screen for you to use to choose songs from, which is super nice. Don’t get me wrong, nothing against the traditional Korean karaōke places, but it’s nice to have a screen that I can read it too! They have a ton of Chinese and English songs to choose from. From previous Unilocal reviews, seems like they didn’t serve beer before, but they do now! Biggest plus? Location. We don’t have to drive all the way out to K-town to sing our little hearts out!

The karaōke set up is fine although not extraordinary. They charge you based on the number of people you have instead of just a flat rate per hour for different size rooms. My one tip: Whatever you do, don’t order anything to eat! I went with some friends and we ordered a few plates of dishes. When I got home, I started throwing up! I’m pretty sure one of the things we ordered was not fresh…(suspecting it’s the chicken feet). It probably would’ve gotten a better review had the food there not given me a bad stomach. And yes, I’m sure it’s their food since I was perfectly fine prior to going there. The service there isn’t top notch either. people there don’t really smile but just stare at you instead. Without the food, it’s probably a 3.5 stars. Please eat with precaution. :)

Good set up. They have a touch screen to select songs and for acoustics control. Various language choices available. The Korean KTVs are a little more difficult because all the controls are in Korean. Lots of Chinese songs and a good selection of contemporary English songs. They don’t serve beer yet. You can BYOB for a corkage. Probably RTE.
