Love this place and the patio is nice weather is perfect… its shady with a huge tree that supplies shade(hence the name)… burgers are ahhhhhmazing… and the service is great. Full bar… and always something eclectic on the menu or as a special. Its a tad hard to find but worth it… just dont tell anyone since its a great hidden gem.

Shady’s refuses to cook your burger«to order», I ordered it medium rare, it was well done, nothing out of the ordinary. Fresh cut fries were good. I will not go back, too many places will cook your burger«to order».

A fast-casual burger joint that will make both new-age burger aficionados and burger traditionalists happy. Order at the counter and you are given a number to hang on the paper towel holder at your table. I thought the menu text was a little small, or maybe it’s that they offer a lot of items. It can be a little overwhelming to choose from, particularly since you enter-and-order and unless there’s a line, you don’t get much time to review the menu. They do have a bunch of healthy options, which is the route I was going today. Lots of salad options — at least 8 or so — which is nice to see. However, I will never understand how restaurants can demand a price for a salad of $ 9 before you add any protein. For that reason, I ordered a burger and subbed in turkey for the beef. I also subbed in a gluten-free bun. The items from our table all came at different times. Milkshakes arrived first. About 10 minutes later, one of three burgers arrived. Then another 10 minutes(!) later the rest of our food order arrived. I can understand the shakes, but the kitchen should be better coordinated. The burgers are smaller in size — both diameter and thickness. I personally love the size of them. I was able to eat my entire burger without feeling like I had a truck in my stomach. Unfortunately, though, my turkey patty was a little dry. Also, the pineapple on my burger came as a ring, which is fine but it just means that ingredient is not a freshly cut in-house ingredient… unless they are going to a LOT of effort to make their pineapples look like they came out of a can. I’m not sure about all the other ingredients, though, so your mileage may vary on the freshness and quality of ingredients. Burgers don’t come with any sides, and the sides are definitely meant to be shared. We ordered a side of fries and a side of onion rings for 3 of us to share and we had half of side left over. The onion rings were much better than the fries — you only get about 8, but they are huge! My parents, who each ordered shakes, loved them. My stepmom said the salted pretzel caramel was the best shake she’s ever had. Plenty of parking in the lot surrounding the restaurant. A good choice if you’re in the area!

Visited Shady’s for lunch recently. I’m not a huge burger fan, but wanted to give some of their other options a try. I ordered the chicken tenders, cheese fries & a drink. First, I felt it was just slightly overpriced. My meal came to just over 15.00. Since they bring food to your table, I also wanted to leave 2.00 for a tip. Over 17.00 for lunch is what you’d pay at a full service restaurant, so seemed just a little pricey. Part of the expense was due to ordering the cheese fries, which were 5.00. I thought they’d be a side, but it came out on a full size baking sheet. Great for a group of maybe 3 – 4 people, but way too much for one person! Wish they’d offer a smaller size or forewarn you that it’s a large portion. Cheese fries were good. However, the chicken tenders came out with the batter looking extremely dark and heavy. I am used to lighter colored batter. These just did not taste good because of the heavy dark batter. I don’t know if they just need to change the oil they are trying them in, but the manager said that’s how they always look. I mentioned to the manager I didn’t realize the batter would be so dark. He did apologize and offered me a different meal, which I appreciated. I ordered the tacos, which were grilled chicken, grilled jalapeños and onions, and cheese. I really liked the tacos and would order them again. Overall, I liked that this is a unique, local type place. Appreciated them trying to make my experience right by preparing a different option for me. Just make sure and ask about the portions, etc

Shady’s is a great burger joint. I went all out bad and ordered a BBQ bacon burger with a giant onion ring on top. A few bites of fried pickles and jalapeños. And a beer. On the patio. It doesn’t get much better than that. Next time I will try a healthier option — if I’m strong and can resist another burger/onion ring. Salads, sandwiches, tacos also on the menu. Good neighborhood hang out. Family-oriented too.

I know this is a burger place – but the fish tacos are incredible! Chunks of mango, cucumber, avocado and tomato with a light sauce(not cream based, so it at least feels healthy) on top of a baked(lightly fried?) hunk of white fish… Mmm. And the fried pickles are a must. The patio setting is perfect for large groups and we frequently have office brainstorming sessions here.

Fantastic casual place for great burgers and fries. You order and pay when you first walk in. Then you are given a metal number to hang off the paper towel rack at the table of your choosing. They run the food out to you. Servers check in to see if you need anything(mayo, mustard, drink refills, etc.). If you decide at the table to add something to your order(like a delicious milkshake) The server can open a new tab for you with your credit card. The sweet potato fries are really delicious! The double down(double pattys, double cheese) is huge! You can customize your burger with things like bacon, avocado, a fried egg, sautéed mushrooms, etc… This is a great place to bring the family or to have a team night with the people from work.

When your girlfriend is craving a burger on a Sunday night this is the place to go! They are open late, the burgers and fries are amazing. Oh! And the adult milkshakes are a must, I wanted more. Everyone is super friendly, so friendly that I remembered their name. We will definitely be back! Whatever makes your girlfriend happy right?

Trouble in ordering because my husband doesn’t like fancy burgers. He thought he was getting Hatch peppers but it didn’t come that way. The two fish tacos were very small with stale chips. The atmosphere was ok and clean. My husband thought the meat in his burger was very ordinary and bland. I don’t think we’d hurry back at all.

Above average burger place utilizing the same ordering/serving style as twisted root. The burgers are tasty, good onion rings, the salads are good(especially for a burger place), decent draft beer selection.

I’ve been here a couple of times and loved it. I usually get the bbq bacon burger because I like it so much. They also have amazing queso and really good drinks. The place is clean and the staff is helpful. We brought my friends dog and they got him a water dish as soon as they saw him. The patio is a really nice. They have spritzer fans that keep it nice even on the hottest summer days. This place is a great place to spend spend an afternoon and get some good food.

I really enjoy this place and the burgers. The patio is great, it’s never terribly packed and its just an over all chill atmosphere. They also offer Local Oven buns for those who are gluten free.

Very good burger(had the mushroom and Swiss) and great onion rings. The porch and setting is very comfortable and even a golfer drove his cart up to the restaurant. Would definitely try it again.

With all the burger place options out there, it’s great to find a place that is different(and better!) than most. I had a portobello burger and fries, which I loved! My friend had a regular burger(and stole some fries :)). Both of us loved our meals! The atmosphere was great, especially because it was a nice day and all of the windows were open. We ate on the patio and really enjoyed it. The only downside was that our plates were cleared before we finished. Let me tell ya – I could have kept eating!

While setting up for a baby shower, we swung in here to have a quick lunch and it was yummy. Kiddo had the buffalo burger with an egg on top and she LOVED it. I ordered the fried pickles and also very good! You’ll have to ask about the story of this place, it is a REALLY good one! This is TRULY a neighborhood, family friendly burger joint… HIGHLY recommend you check this place out! Its just right off the GBT, but you’d never know it. We enjoyed drinks on the patio with gorgeous weather… it was the perfect ending to a very busy day!

I got the hood burger and fries, my girlfriend got the blue cheese burger. Both were pretty good, like 7⁄10. I lol’d a little when I took the top bun off mine and saw just a massive chunk of avocado — not spread or cut or anything. Just a round heap. She asked for hers medium-well, but I think it got mixed up as mine was pretty well done and hers definitely was not. I think they also might squeeze the bejesus out of their patties when grilling because there was zero drip. I kinda like a juicy burger. The fries were great. The beer I got, some rotating IPA, was $ 5.95 and tasted awful — I’ve never had that specific brew before(I have had LOTS of IPA) so I don’t know if it was keg related or just that brand — but paying that much for a downright awful beer put a bad taste in my mouth. All that said, I will be back for happy hour in the summer.

I ordered the bacon BBQ while my friend ordered a regular burger with japalenos. The burger was dry and the BBQ sauce on the burger was over-whelming. And the japalenos tasted off. They messed up on our order and it took us a while to flagged down a server to address that. Overall it wasn’t worth the price.

This is a hamburger located at the end of the shopping center. There is parking out front/Enter the restaurant and place your order tat the cashier. Typical of many of today’s hamburger places. There is a large board with the menu. Ordered the Shady Burger which was a burger with lettuce, tomato and onions. Then ordered the French fries and onion rings. Take your number and go get a table as your food will be brought to you. You will more than likely find the restaurant filled with dozens of young kids as this appears to be a family place for locals around the neighborhood. These kids will play with the drink dispensers and you may have to wait to get your drink. There is also a full bar with stools as you enter the restaurant. The hamburger was large and actually exceeded the outer edge of the bun. The bun was nice with a slightly hard brown crust on top. The hamburger was basically just a cooked hamburger as far as I could tell there was no seasoning. It did not taste grilled over an open flame, but rather fried on a grill. The onions were chopped onions, a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato. I could have asked for mustard or mayo. I found the burger good but certainly not exceptional. The onion rings($ 3.00) were delicious. There were 6 on the platter and the rings appeared to be the outer rings from a very large onion. The breading was excellent. It appears the outer rings were being used for the onion rings with the remains of the onion being chopped and put on the burgers. The French fries were served in a small metal bucket. They were barely warm. The fries were soggy and limp and either were cooked in oil that had about served it’s life or the cooking time was way too short. I will pass the next time on the fries, as they are not all that good. A «runner’ will bring your food to the table and you always get the feeling as they stop by, that they are looking for a tip. There was even a place on the credit cards receipt for adding a tip. Not sure who to tip since with the exception of the food being delivered to the table that was all the service I received. The atmosphere is one of being just an old building that has been converted to a restaurant. Food was served on metal trays. Your napkin is a roll of recycled paper towels on the table. Kids run wild so don’t expect a quite romantic evening here if you bring your date. Did note there was live music on Thursday evening 7 – 9. This restaurant is probably a sound 3 ½ but not quite a 4. Will list them as a four since there is no 3 ½.
