Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Our waitress was a little scattered and lunch took a little longer than we would have liked but over all totally worth it and would definitely go back!

First off, the food isn’t bad. It’s actually fine for the price. However the service needs a lot of improvement. When we were seated the waitress told us she needed to find us some glasses for water. We had to wait a little longer than usual to get our food but that wasn’t that big of an issue. We had to ask for plates and soy sauce for our food which should have already been provided. Furthermore, other tables around us had to do the same and ask for menus, plates and soy sauce. When we asked for the check, we waited for another ten minutes only to be told the chef lost our order and she had to write down all of our items by hand to ring us up. Even then, she put the wrong items on the ticket. The price was the same so it wasn’t a huge problem. The service was friendly but very understaffed and unorganized.

I love their volcano sushi! My favorite sushi hands down! We gobbled it down in less than 10 mins lol We also tried 5 different sushi rolls and they were all very tasty and worth the price! Customer service is also excellent and you can see the chefs making the sushi if you sit at the bar. I highly recommend this place.

I think they have changed owners or something. Same menu but slightly lower quality. Still have a very affordable sushi bento but it’s not worth it to go back

I stopped by after leaving the nail shop, happy hour until 630. My tab was $ 14.50 for 2 rolls. Rainbow and kamikaze. Delicious and fresh. Attentive staff. I’ll be back even though they don’t have liquor. Just wine and sake. And you can take your HH sushi to go!

Okay can we talk about this place? 1) we brought our noisy 20 month old and the staff were so gracious. A great place for kids. 2) our sushi was probably the best I have had in Dallas. I ordered the Oh My God roll, the Spider and Tiger rolls. To. Die. For. 3) excellent prices. We both left stuffed for less than $ 20 a person. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere and awesome food. We will be back!

Best sushi restaurant in the town. The quality of ingredients are the same as the ones at five star restaurant. You will not regret coming here and definitely worth of your money!

It had been a long time since I had written my last review, and I felt when one of my 4 star rated restaurants drops to 2 stars, I owe it to them to give the new ownership some more time and go back try them out. I did just that last night and I am going to sadly say nothing has improved… service, while friendly, was slow, the food just does not measure up against the competition like it used to. Sorry Zuki, I am done…

This place used to be sooo good, it was our fail safe sushi place. Idk what has happened, but it’s gone way down hill recently. Sushi was okay, but the entrees were so bland. The green curry was a pale grey color with little flavor, and a cup of Ramen has more flavor than the yaki soba. So disappointing…

Not much to say except that I loved it and the service was great! I’m no sushi connoisseur, but the monkey ball appetizer and Spider roll tasted great.

When this sushi place first opened we went and it was great. The service was great and the food was awesome. Next scene: The original owners decided to sell… Enter new owners: When we went back after the new owners stepped in and it was a night and day difference. The service was horrible and slow. It took 25 mins to get out appetizer. A couple that came in 15 mins after we did got the same appetizer within minutes… trigger frustration number 1. We ordered 3 rolls. 30 mins after our appetizer came out we got 1 roll. Trogger frustration number 2… The next two came one after the other, but ten minutes apart. So our simple small order turned into a 75 minute meal. That doesn’t include the 15 minute check out time. Next scene: I placed and order for pick up through eat 24. After I paced the order I get a message saying it was going to be 55 mins before we could pick it up. Not having anything else to do I went up there just to wait. While sitting there waiting I see a server answer the phone and take an order. She repeats the order back and it’s only 2 rolls. When the manager asks the server what the order is she proceeds to tell the server to explain to the customer that it will be 45 mins before they can get their order. And to tell the customer that they have a full house and that they have to serve their in house customers first… WT??? I was physically present in there and there were only 5 tables taken up. Granted they only have 10 tables to sit at. So when the server repeats that to the customer on the phone I hear her repeat back to the person on the phone that if they are sure they want to cancel the order… end scene with the phone being hung up. At another point I see the chef say a roll was up and the same server is the one who put the order in but didn’t right down the table. So she was trying to remember who it was supposed to go to. Hmmm maybe she should have written that down. So in a nutshell this new ownership is not capable of running a restaurant, that goes also for the management and the server staff needs to be properly trained. I will never go back again.

UGH! I hate to say it because the quality of the sushi here is excellent as is their pricing, however, the service is so bad it almost makes it not worth it. I’ve been here 3 times at is it easily walking distance from my house and a couple miles from where I work, so it was an exciting and welcome part of the neighborhood. My experiences have been as followed: My first trip was with a party of two, we had okay service albeit a little slow, but the overall experience was salvaged by the delicious appetizers, fresh sushi and great pricing. My second was a lunch visit with a friend, the service was again painfully slow and they completely forgot part of our order. Then they scrambled to get it out, slowing the process even further. My last trip was last night with 6 adults and a child. Initially they tried to cram us all in a six seater booth between two other groups. We had to ask to be moved to a non booth combining two four tops. Then, they gave us a brown plastic booster seat for a 18 month old… when we asked if they had a highchair, they did not… so we had to go back out to the car and put him in his stroller for the entire evening. Beyond that, the place was over 80 degrees. When we asked about why it was so hot– as no preemptive apologies were made– they said someone was coming to look at it in 3 days… The service was slow as usual and we had to ask for water and tea refills multiple times. We also had to ask for a drink menu to which they said there was none and rattled off their offerings. What’s good there? All the rolls, Monkey Balls, Soft Shell Crab Appetizer, Gyoza– pretty much everything but the service!

Love this place! Super inexpensive delicious sushi. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but it’s nice and the staff is very attentive. You can also use certificates there, which is a big plus!

UPDATE: sushi Chad choking warning. Zuki has changed! I think they have new owners because several things were noticeably different, the first being the staff. They waitress was very pleasant, expedient and overall the service was great. Secondly, the tempura appetizer had two fewer shrimp, it used to come with 4, and the batter was most certainly not the delicious, traditional tempura style that I loved so much. It was heavier and had a more«fried chicken» batter consistency. Finally, the sushi just didn’t have the freshness that I’ve grown accustomed to. The avocado was brown and the fish just is not the same. I’d also like to mention that my fellow diner kind of choked on the seaweed wrapping due to its toughness and the fact that it was not tightly secured around the roll. Is this a quality control issue or a user error? One can’t say for sure, but I can tell you that the old owners of Zuki are going to be sorely missed.

This place was amazing for the price! We ordered a bit! And it was too delicious we forgot to take pictures. We came here due to another restaurant wanting us to wait 2.5 hrs. I’m glad we did. Everything was so fresh. Between 3 people we ordered about 5 rolls, some vegetable shrimp tempura and some mussels. It was wonderful. I’ll be back. The waitress was super sweet too! 4 stars due to the doors being open so it was a little hot in the restaurant. Also open doors lead to flies!!!

A couple of friends and I went here on a Friday during happy hours. We had to wait to be seated for maybe about an hour because all the tables were taken. It is a small place and the food is great so that was understandable. When we were finally seated and place our order, we waited an additional hour for our food. Like I said, the place is small and the amount of food being order for such a small place was extremely high. The waitresses that were serving us gave us complimentary appetizers to compensate for the wait. When we finally got out food, it was delicious and totally worth the wait! Thank you for treating us so well! Btw, the Cajun Dynamite there is on point! P. S. This is a small place and a lot of people come here ordering a large amount of food. Don’t we those assholes coming in with 10 people ordering probably 20 rolls and expect to receive your food immediately. It’s sushi. It’s art. It takes time to perfect. And trust me, the food will be worth the long wait!

I’ve had MUCH better… I went here for lunch and ordered the Chicken Katsu bento. They took almost 20minutes getting my order out and the food wasn’t even that great. Salad dressing tasted really really weird. Service was okay and it’s really dark in the restaurant. I don’t think the food was worth it. I can find much better Japanese restaurants around for the same price. I wouldn’t come here again…

At first it seemed like I was walking into an arcade room. But as I entered I was greeted kindly. It was still a little dim but the atmosphere was relaxing. They had a good choices on their menu. I really appreciate that they had my most favorite dish(Poke). If you are looking for great deals on Bento Boxes(Japanese Bento box) this is the place. Another hole in the wall, that I had the pleasure of finding.

March 2015 Update — It seems as if Zuki’s is under new management. all of the staff are different, the service is slower than normal, and the sushi rolls just aren’t what they’re used to be. And one time that I went here, they had one song playing on loop the entire time. it was quite odd and got old very quickly. I’d like to keep coming back but I just haven’t been satisfied with my dining experiences here lately :( — — — — — — — — — — I absolutely love Zuki’s! I found this place via a google review(before it got popular and had any reviews on Unilocal) and decided to give it a try since it was close to work. And I’ve never looked back! The staff are so friendly and if you’re a regular, they get to know you and visit with you which is nice. I come here at least once every two weeks. What I really love about this place is their sushi. It’s great quality sushi for a great price and they have a large variety of rolls to choose from. My favorites are the French kiss roll, the crunch rolls, shrimp tempura, love night, just to name a few. I’d rather go here than to the more popular chains like Blue Fish if I have a sushi craving. Their appetizers(gyoza, edamame, etc.) are great too, and so are many of their bento boxes. Try the snapper and bulgogi bento boxes, if you visit!
