Yoshi Shabu Shabu is the shiznit. Great food and a new experience. And then of course Heather and Joss.

It’s hard to impress an Asian with another Asian restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, I love shabu shabu. They have fresh ingredients, but it’s a high in price for what it is. I like their sauces but other than that, nothing really would make me want to come back multiple times.

I’ve been searching for a great Shabu place since moving to Texas from California. This place is AMAZING! Great ambiance, excellent quality of food and even more importantly their staff is super knowledgable and friendly! If you’ve never had Shabu Shabu before, this place is a great place to start! Don’t know what you’re doing? Go ahead and ask, they will be more than happy to explain and demonstrate. Left super happy and am already planning on finding the next time we can go back!

Went here tonight for the first time. The service was so good! I can not tell you how impressed I was with this whole experience. It’s hard to explain, and really confusing at first but the staff here really made it easy. They prepared me for the next time I come in. There will be a next time! Okay so I talked up the staff but don’t get me wrong the food was so delcious. I ordered the medium sized prime ribe eye. I am not going to lie when it first came out it seemed like there wasn’t enough protein for the price. I went with it anyways. My wife ordered the salmon. The quality of our proteins were excellent. I mean EXCELLENT! After carefully listening to our waitress I understood it was the over-all taste /soup /sauce/combo. I suggest saving some protein and the noodles for the brothy soup you make at the end. Listen to the staffs suggestions and you’ll have a good time. I forgot to mention the wonderfully delcious sauces. Mmmmm. The sauces. This is the best meal I have had in a long time. The quality ingredients will leave you full in a way that doesn’t make you feel sick or over full. When we left we discussed the different people we were going to bring. A true 5 star experience.

I am in love with this place. We have been to Little Sheep, but the wait is insane. After seeing other reviews I wanted to try this spot. It is located at 75 and Campbell near Post Apartments in the retail area. When we walked in, the restaurant had this hip modern vibe kind of like something you would see in LA or NYC. They have a section with a few tables, but they also have individual hot pot seating which surrounds the main area. The menu has several choices of meats, and you can pick different combos. The servers are really good at explaining their process and getting everything set up. I will say it is a little pricy, but the ingredients are super fresh and high quality. They have 3 sauces. My favorite was the house sauce. There is also a peanut and a teriyaki. They also give you unlimited rice and sauce. After you cook and eat your meets, they will make a soup with your noodles, and any leftovers. I was super full, so I only got to enjoy a little. They will ask you is you want an egg, which will cost a dollar… whatevs. Knowing the process, I will probably get a small portion so that I can enjoy the soul finale next time. This would be a fun place for a date or to catch up with friends, as the experience is interactive and fun. We arrived around 6:00 on a weeknight. I would say around 6:30/7:00 it started to fill up.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of DFW! I love it and am always excited to make the trip to Richardson! It is a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The staff is wonderful, entertaining and fun. The food is always fresh, the sauces are amazing and the flavored sake’s are fantastic! The best part is that it is always affordable, which means I don’t have to break the bank to get a great meal! I am usually so stuffed when I leave, that I take my soup home. When I eat it within the next day or two, I am ready to go back for more!

My favorite place for delicious Japanese hotpot. The concept is pretty unique in which they have shared hotpot table stations(for parties of 4 +) or individual hotpot located at a bar top. The menu is simple and you can customize your protein selections how ever you want! They offer choice and prime beef, sushi grade salmon, shrimp, chicken, scallops, and etc. All of the protein orders are made to order as well! For each hotpot setting, you are provided with a base consisting of water and a piece of seaweed in the hotpot, a plate of veggies, a bowl of rice, and a side udon noodles and glass noodles to finish your hotpot(in a form of a soup) at the end of the course. The important thing with this hot pot concept is that you get to customize your taste buds with the sauces and garnishes they provide. You get a citrus ponzu, sesame and peanut, and teriyaki sauce. The garnishes are fresh scallions, daikon, garlic, chili oil, and if you like spicy they have a house make spicy sauce!

Friendly service, casual atmosphere, good food! A bit expensive, but the quality of the meat here is pretty good. My favorite is the choice beef. Set amount of slices for a certain price, not even enough to fill up so order plenty, but look to see what amount would be good. 6 slices plus salmon sashimi, veggies, noodles, rice, did not fill me up. Overall, enjoyed the experience and the food.

Sorely disappointed. I’ve been dying to come here based on FB friends’ posts. Does not compare to other hotpot spots; namely Mongolian Sheep, Zhabuki. The broth that you cook your fresh ingredients was mere water. The server then comes by and asks a few questions about your taste preference and goes to pour and sprinkles a couple of spices and liquids in the pot filled with water. Also, each person gets their own plate with a few greens in it. Literally, one broccoli each, a Chines cabbage, … you get the picture. We chose the option where you get to sample all proteins(shrimp, mussels, beef, can’t remember the rest, it was so uneventful). The only thing I would give this place is the experience. It was cool and the venue was intimate. However, I would not come back, or even bring my friends for another experience.

Came here with my mom for dinner. We both enjoyed our time here very well. Let’s talk about why. Food: Prepared in front of your face, then it’s all you. Definitely something new, and it’s great. I got the pork and salmon, but trust me, get the salmon. The seasonal vegetables and the sauces were great. I was so full I didn’t get to finish my udon noodles, so they put it in a container for to-go! Overall the food was fresh and delicious. I found some room for desert, and the mochi ice cream is pretty amazing, too! Overall everything was fresh, tasty, and very presentable. Service: MAJORPOINTS. Our servers were so friendly and extremely nice. Since it was our first time there, they made us feel very welcome and explained the whole meaning of «shabu shabu» to us and was very kind. Love love love their customer service. Place: Clean! That’s really the only way I can put it. Organized, looks refreshing and neat. No better way to enjoy your food in a nice and clean environment. Overall definitely recommend. I’m coming back.

This was my first time trying Japanese style hot pot and it was a fun experience. It comes with veggies and noodles and a soup base. You order your choice of protein. You cook your protein in the pot and eat it with rice first and then put all the veggies and noodles in after for an udon noodle dish. I got the prime beef and salmon. The prime beef was very thinly sliced but soft and melts in your mouth. The salmon was sushi grade so you can eat it raw or cooked, which I loved! The udon soup afterwards was pretty good. Ask for spicy soup base if you like spicy! The server didn’t really explain the process very well when we got there. Luckily I had read reviews before coming so I knew what to expect and explained it to my friend. She thought there were«too many rules» when at one point she was putting veggies in the soup and the server said to keep those for the noodle soup at the end. Haha! We were very full afterwards even though we each just ordered a two meat combo. I don’t think they give you that much protein for what you pay but you fill up from the noodles and veggies. It was pretty pricey. Spent almost $ 30 each after tip for lunch. Yikes! Also, I wouldn’t recommend this place for large groups. The tables fit 4 and then there are bar seats.

Great place for shabu shabu! Service was fantastic– very helpful and accommodating to our party of 8 for lunch. They guide you through exactly what to do and the food is very tasty. Tons of food for the price– meat, unlimited sauce and rice, veggies, and soup with noodles. Make sure you come with an even number of people if you come with 4+ people. They also gave us a $ 3 off lunch pass at the end. Would definitely return!

My review for this place I was pleasantly surprised is going to be similar to Trinh T.‘s review. But here is the summary: Food: top quality ingredients, greatly appreciated Service: helpful, maybe too much — and seemingly they like to take control over the experience(can be a pro with newbies, and a con with the experienced), perhaps to maintain a favorable outlook, if any, based on food itself Atmosphere: nice, clean, and modern Price: a bit high end, but again, high quality ingredients Portions: a little on the small side, but you’ll have a lot of soup in the end(e.g. small order of salmon which is four pieces, comes in one«flower» that looks like it really consists of two pieces) Would I return? Sure — but if I plan on becoming a frequent customer, I’ll have to order carefully to be sure that I’m not burning through my wallet. Plus, this may be the best restaurant to be had in the Eastside shopping area. Notes: salmon is great to eat raw, like sushi. shabu shabu is supposedly about cooking meat in boiling water — so if you want the literal shabu shabu experience, order the meats.

One of the main reason’s I’m giving Yoshi Shabu Sabu 5 stars is because of the concept of the restaurant. I can’t think of another place in DFW that has Japanese style hot pot. What I mean by Japanese style is that the broth is simple and tasty, the meat and seafood fresh, and the sauces tasty. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left, the service was phenomenal. All of the workers were very welcoming and made sure that we enjoyed our meal and left full. Our server Max, took exceptionally good care of us. If you’re unfamiliar with Yoshi Shabu Shabu, everyone gets their own hot pot, and then you order different meats and seafoods to cook in your hotpot. If you like your food spicy be sure to tell your server so that they can make your broth spicy. Your protein comes with a side of udon and clear noodles, tofu, and various vegetables. You can ask they to switch out your udon noodles for ramen noodles if you prefer. Your meal also comes with unlimited rice, and 3 delicious house made dipping sauces: ponzu, peanut, and teriyaki. My favorite was the peanut I was dipping everything into that sauce, and they were really good about refilling it. I recommend ordering the pork and prime ribeye, both were filling and very tender. The prime ribeye was melt in your mouth good. The Scottish salmon and scallops tasted very fresh, but I prefer the meats since you get more protein. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for, fresh food and exceptional service. Great service, fresh and tasty food, will definitely be back!

This was my second time eating here and it was much better than the first time! The first time, i didnt really know what i was doing or anything about shabu shabu so when i came here again i knew how to improve my eating experience. I asked for this hot sauce they put in the pot so if you like spicy i suggest you ask for it, i also added it in my dipping sauces. i added the garlic and radish both in the pot and the dipping sauces for taste. You order what kind of meats you want, but i would suggest getting the combo if you like more variety. Everything tasted so fresh and it doesnt taste as heavy with a normal hot pot place cause the broth is just water or very light if you choose to add anything in it. Remember to save the udon for last! they give you a seperate bowl with udon soup base at the end. it was yummy and a very good experience. Severs are very nice and helpful to first timers. i would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic x100. Tasty on a hot day. Even tastier on a cold & wet day, which occurs far too often in the winter here. Surprised to find a place of this quality here in Dallas. After moving here recently from Los Angeles, I thought that great Shabu could not be had. I’ve never been so thrilled to be wrong. Get a medium entrée, as the side items fill you up much more than you think. Our server Fred took his time to pamper us with how to ready properly. Also, he hand prepared all the sauces and cooked the finishing noodle stage like a master. Best server ever.

It was delicious!!! The service was awesome. **make a reservation! Ask for the spicy soup base, and a poached egg for the soup. Sit at the bar! It adds to the experience. The prime rib was SOGOOD!

My expectations were extremely high due to all of the ratings and reviews, but we were honestly let down. We arrived in a party of five to a completely empty restaurant. It took nearly 30 minutes before our meats were finally brought out. Our server was rude and really had a difficult personality to enjoy. I had asked for gluten free items only, and asked about whether or not their potato noodles were gluten free. The server responded back with, «They’re made out of potatoes, ma’am». Actually, a manager came back and informed me that they were made with a potato starch, and asked me to do some research before chowing down. I could not eat the udon noodles. Meats that I ordered were pork and choice beef(pork is not on the menu, by the way). Meats really were delicious, but for the price, there really wasn’t a lot. We ended with a soup noodle with the broth that we ended up making with the veggies and meats. I’m pretty sure that the ponzu sauce that was used to season the broth was not gluten free, because I felt dizzy, extremely bloated, and sick after my meal. If you have a larger party, more than 2, be prepared to have to share your hot pot, unless you do your meal at the bar. It really isn’t suited for parties of 4 or more, unless you want to sit at the bar. The home style tables come with two hotpots, a small table, and enough seating for four only. If you have someone who is vegetarian or allergic to foods, it makes sharing hot pots very difficult.

Décor~5/5 Service~10/5 Food~5/5 Always count me in when there’s hot pot! This Japanese-styled hot pot was something different then what I am regularly used to. It’s located in a nice little shopping area with plenty of different shops and restaurants. The only downside is the parking, which may take you some time to find but its all worth it. Once you walk in the doors of Yoshi Shabu Shabu, you are greeted and ask if you would like to sit at the table or the bar. Me and my plus one chose to sit at the bar, and it was pretty neat! Each of you are given a hot pot and a plate of vegetable with noodles right in front of you. Also given are unlimited rice/sauces, and the sauces are something different but very tasty! Ordering the protein of your choice, I recommend the choice beef ribeye, which is a delicious higher grade meat quality than usual. At the end, the worker serves up a soy based soup for you to have udon noodle soup! How amazing right?! You could substitute udon for ramen for free of charge too! We didn’t really have a main server because we sat at the bar. But our main ones are Fred and Austin! Fred was really sweet about helping us and showing how things worked since that was or first time. Austin was a funny guy and made jokes about some things. He also said that if we wrote a review, we would get a free ice cream bar. We got the fruity pebble nom nom bar and oh my gosh was that a good finishing touch! Everyone should give this little place a try. It’s a little kick to your taste buds!
