First time here and would definitely go back. Inexpensive and fresh delicious pasta! I had the chicken rose and enjoyed it. Great customer service! Free parking is available.

This little café makes their own pasta, you can eat there or you can take it home and cook it the way you want. They offer both dry or fresh homemade pasta which is hard to find. The ambiance is very casual and it is cheaper & better than fancy Italian restaurants.

This is officially my favorite restaurant in all of Richmond. The pasta is of extremely high quality, the servings very, very generous and the menu well structured to make ordering a breeze. Service is great, and you eat in or get take out. The location is comfortable and chill, and they also sell uncooked fresh pasta, sauces and wine. We went last week and they had made their own smoked salmon! I had angel hair with smoked salmon, and my husband had pappardelle with an amazing tomato sauce and bacon. I will be coming here very, very often. The prices are totally worth it. Better pasta than Dinamo by FAR.

This is a nice spot the guy behind the counter was very knowledgeable and informal about his menu. The noodles just melt in your mouth they make them from scratch. I had sausage pasta I forget what combination that I use sauce wise. But overall it was a good experience and will be going again.

Huh. Just tried this place for the first time after living in the Fan nearly a year. Asked for a recommend on pasta and the guy said black pepper. I got that in linguine with chicken rose. I’m a bit disappointed. My dish looked nothing like the pictures. As far as sauce it was just a few big hunks of tomatoes and onions(which were very good), but not much else sauce. The pasta tasted no different than plain kind. I really hope I just got them on an off day because these reviews are amazing. I’ll definitely try again!

Simply scrumptious. Went in for the first time yesterday and was greeted quite warmly as I asked for recommendations. Chose the Chicken Rose and the Carbonara, with the garlic linguine and papardalle respectively. They cooked them there on the spot with great care, and not ten minutes later I had two piping hot dishes of pasta in a bag. Highly recommended.

Got take out on a Saturday night. Pasta was very tasty and the people could not have been nicer. My only complaint is that they close too early. This place could really do well with more tables and later hours which I think they are planning to do. Love it and will be back.

I found Bombolini off of a deep craving for some good pasta. Specifically I was in the mood for Chicken Alfredo. Through a Unilocal search I stumbled upon Bombolini. I was immediately impressed by their menu and their selection of pasta! I was excited to give them a try, unfortunately they closed at 7 and I had to wait. No biggie. Flash forward a week or so I finally have time to make it before they close, and wow! I was highly impressed. The space acts as a restaurant and mini market. The market featured a variety of wine, craft beer, and other items that pair well with pasta. They even sell their uncooked pasta for you to prep at home! You could impress someone with a nice home cooked pasta dish with fresh noodles from Bombolini, and say it’s made from scratch! Our little secret ;) haha The pasta itself is prepped in an open kitchen positioned behind a long display counter. When I walked in their were two gentlemen behind the counter, both of whom greeted me with smiles. I told them it was my first time there & they proceed to give me an overview of how the shop works. There is a huge section of pasta on display for your eyes gaze. I am by far not a pasta expert but they have tons of shapes/cuts and most available in different flavors. I wanted to try the linguine in either spinach or garlic. He recommended the garlic so I went with that. They proceed to prepare the chicken Alfredo right in front of me which I thought was really cool! Alright so. I understand everyone’s palate is different when it comes to seasoning, with that said the following is my personal critique and the only reason this review is a 4 star and not 5. It boils down to the seasoning of my chicken. I just feel their was a strong lack of it. It wasn’t bad, just underwhelming in overall taste due to the blandness. Other then that the dish was amazing! The Alfredo was creamy and cheesy, and the pasta. Oh my. Yo! The pasta! It was soo fresh, I don’t think I’ve ever been exposed to pasta that fresh. It was great. I took pictures and videos on my first visit on snapchat, but did not save :/So I will be returning to Bombolini soon so that I may update my review with photos & vid!

Pasta is so good here because it’s made in the house! I got the chicken rose pasta and you got to chose what kind of noodles you want. If you want more variety, you can basically build your own pasta with which type of noodles you want, sauce, and meat. Pasta comes out in a to go container. Portions are HUGE here so share if you don’t eat a lot! I had to bring mine home which was more than enough for seconds! They also have a cute little market section if you want to explore the wines or whatever they sell.

Best Pasta Ever. It is so fresh and wonderful. I got so full off of it. You can choose from a variety of pastas and sauces to put together. The Chicken Rose was so good. This place will forever ruin you on your view of pasta. Regular pasta will just not cut it anymore.

I will definitely come back to this place! Even though we ordered a simple carbonara, you could taste that the pasta was very fresh! It tastes very different from the boxed pasta you find at the grocery stores. I was so happy I found this place on Unilocal and we’ll definitely be back!

dope pasta is how it should be. fresh, delicious, fast, and cheap. i’ll look past the fact that I ordered meat sauce but got marinara, because the pasta was delicious and you could tell it was made fresh. I’ll eat in next time, I think the pasta got slightly overcooked sitting in the container on the way home, but it was still amazing and I finished every last bite. I got some to make at home too so we’ll see how they turn out

I pass Bombolini on a daily basis, but never at a meal time. So happened my father and I were at the UCI race today, and had the pleasure of eating here. It was so delicious, I was a glutton and ordered a second sandwich. Wow, what a treat. Soft bread, delicious ham and provolone cheese… you can’t go wrong!

The pasta is freshly made, inexpensive, and delicious! What’s not to like? It’s super customizable, since you can choose your sauce and not only the type of pasta, but the flavor! Some of my favorites are spinach and garlic.(I highly recommend garlic linguini with rose sauce.) Plus the serving sizes are huge!(I have yet to actually finish one in one sitting.) The staff is always friendly and they remember and greet me when I come in. I also love that I can purchase their pasta to cook for myself as well(either fresh or dried). I always make sure to buy some dried pasta to bring home whenever I’m visiting my parents out of town. Bombolini has definitely spoiled my tastes, as the commercial dried pasta often served in other restaurants pales in comparison to their homemade pasta. Who would’ve thought that I’d become a pasta snob on top of already being a notorious coffee, macaron, and cupcake snob?

Firstly, I would definitely come here again. The service is great – we took up like twenty minutes of the guy’s time and it didn’t bother him at all. He went through the whole menu with us, explaining each sauce type, and he didn’t seem to mind that we were asking him a ton of questions. Sometimes when you’re new to a menu and have to ask a bunch of things the employees start to get a little annoyed, but that wasn’t the case here at all. We ordered two pastas to share, one was the garlic tube pasta with the Chicken Rosa sauce, the other was black pepper fettuccine with Alfredo sauce. The Chicken Rosa one was pretty darn good – definitely our favorite. If I go back I’ll ask if I can get it without the chicken for a cheaper price since I’m not a huge meat eater and don’t really want that in my pasta. The Alfredo was just okay. It was super mild without that real flavor ‘hit’ that you should get with Alfredo. We had to grind a bunch of black pepper into the pasta to feel like we were eating something that wasn’t totally mild(and that’s with the black pepper pasta). I don’t think we’d order that again. Even though I was 50⁄50 on the pasta I could tell that both dishes were made with quality ingredients. It wasn’t like I didn’t like one of them because it was bad, it just wasn’t what I think of when I think of Alfredo.

I went to Bombolini for a quick lunch during the week. Bombolini sells fresh pasta dishes and sandwiches. There’s a frozen section where customers can purchase Bombolini pasta meals as well. I ordered a carbonara(pasta, Alfredo, onions, mushrooms, and bacon) meal to go. Customers can customize any pasta dish. The carbonara was delicious and fresh. I like how the freshness of Bombolini pasta stands out. All meals are made to order. Bombolini is geared towards takeout more than dining inside. There are a few tables for customers. The staff was very polite and professional. Street parking is available but parking can be a hassle at prime lunch hours. Bombolini is a good choice for fresh pasta dishes.
